This is the second time we have visited this excellent restaurant. As the first time, service and food was excellent. Staff very friendly, made to feel like a local on our holiday. Can't wait to return on our next visit to Bude later in the year.

Absolutely amazing food and amazing friendly staff, what an absolute gem, and will be back time and time again.. the mains where so tasty and the sweet was outta this world

Wonderful experience every time we go. The hosts are so welcoming and friendly. The food is excellent. This time we had the most wonderful dessert, recommended by the hostess. Could not be happier, and such great Indian food.

Awful. Ordered a chicken curry, and it was essentially chicken swimming in what seemed like hot water with a faint taste of curry—or maybe it was oil, I couldn’t tell. It was absolutely drenched. Tried mixing it, but that didn’t help at all. It was completely flavourless, more like noodle water than curry. I would never eat here again; it was an absolute waste of money.

Excellent food. Loved the balti and the murghi. Our son scoffed all his korma so it must have been good. Service efficient and friendly. Reasonable prices. Recommended.

Just had a take away delivered to our holiday cottage … fantastic customer service as even though the regular driver was off that night the owner delivered and the food was delicious and reasonably priced . Will definitely order again the next time we visit Bude .

Amazing food - you will have to travel far to beat this! In the busy summer time - I’ve heard people complaining about wait times - I feel this is inevitable with a fully booked restaurant and food that is cooked fresh to order. We have been going here for years on a regular basis and always have wonderful food! I would recommend 100%

Some of the best naans we’ve ever had, and the chicken tikka naga bhuna was wonderful. The hosts were very polite, conversational and sweet, brilliant overall!

Poor food, bad service , expensive for what it was . Rezala supposed to be a creamy dish . It was hot tomatoes not a rich creamy sauce. Can't find any good bits to say except Cobra was cold . Won't be going back.

As we live in Bude the bay leaf is our favourite Indian restaurant, took my partner out for her birthday, the food as always was spot on , service really welcoming and spot on. The surprise birthday song and desert was such a lovely thing to do ,it really made our evening. Thank you we appreciate great service and great food we will be back .😎👍 Highly recommend 100%

Booked table last minute, very busy when we arrived. Cannot fault the service from Jaz , friendly and efficient. The food was excellent, the chef accommodated our requests for chicken balti and they were the best we have ever had. The garlic naan was so tasty. Really enjoyed the food and great price too 😁 Would definitely recommend if you want a top quality meal.

The lady who served us was lovely and the food was great. I had the tandoori mixed grill and my husband the lamb dupiaza, my mixed grill was the best and tastiest I’ve had in a long time and my husband polished off the Dupiaza and said it was very nice. We would highly this restaurant.

Best curry in Bude and compares to decent curry houses in big cities. We are local and visit here often. Never disappointed, sometimes service is a little slow but we just accept that and it’s worth the wait as the food is lovely.

Delicious food. Great value for money. The chat puri starters are AMAZING. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Great value drinks too.

Very very poor. We ordered a chicken tikka massala and a Chicken Tikka Passanda, a garlic nan and a keema nan. Both dishes were exactly the same and neither tasted of either of what we ordered. The keema nan was a plain nan. I called and spoke to the owner who had an answer for everything. It didn't matter what I said, there was always an excuse. I did not ask for anything but her response was "what do you want me me to do?". I said, that's not for me to decide. She said there's nothing she can do. I said there's nothing I can say because you have an answer for everything. She then promptly hung the phone on me. £35 on this take away. Absolutely ripped off. I stress not to order food from here. It's not what it seems so do not waste your money. I hear Bude Tandoori is much better so I'd advise customers to go there. I definitely will be next time.

This is the best Indian in Bude.I can't fault it. The food is amazing the staff are super attentive and friendly nothing is to much trouble even gave us a free desert because it was my partners birthday 🎂 Highly recommend!!!

Fantastic curry! Really friendly staff and the food is amazing. You can tell the chef uses traditional Indian ingredients and they have all the traditional curries as well as specials. Would fully reccomend!

This is a regular choice of ours for excellent Indian cuisine. The South Indian Garlic Balti is a particular favourite. All main dishes we have had are well spiced, rich and tasty.

A delicious meal at this great restaurant in the centre of Bude. Wonderful tandoori King prawns were the highlight of the meal but everything we had was delicious. We will definitely revisit.

Booked here on a Monday evening. Not particularly busy. Service was quick and friendly. Food was nice but the portions very small for the price paid. Duck Bhuna was very tasty but only 4 small pieces of Duck and a small amount of sauce for about £14.00 (rice etc extra). The fried rice portion was also very small. My eldest daughter ordered chicken tikka main and there were only 6 pieces of chicken so would hate to think how many pieces were in the starter portion. Couple of other small things...asked for a pint of draught Cobra but was given a bottle, ordered appeltizers for the kids and they were just given warm cans, no ice or new glasses. Only little things and the food was very tasty, just didn't feel like great value for money due to the portion sizes but would probably go back just for the tasty food.

You may have seen on other reviews that people make statements that the service is slow….yes I can see why, the service is how I would say “casual and relaxed”, if you are not in a hurry it will not be an issue, if you have somewhere to go afterwards, yes this may be an issue I’ve given it a 3 for two specific reasons which I will explain further We rolled up without a booking on a sat night about 7:30 and we were lucky enough to get a table. The restaurant also does TA so the kitchen is busy all the times Starters of popadoms and onion bhajhi came in about 5-10 mins after order so no issue there as well as the drinks. Ordered a Lamb Saag and Lamb Shashlik Bhuna, Chapati and 2x rice. This did take about 45 mins after the order was taken, but for us this was not an issue as we where out for the whole evening. It lost a point/star because the shashlik came out as “Chicken”, yes I could have said something but didn’t want to be sat there waiting for the right dish to come whilst my wife ate hers….so took it on the chin. The second point/star loss was because it was a bit spicy for my liking. There is no heat indication on the menu so I was not expecting a Jalfrezi level of heat for this dish. I can take a hot curry but this is not what I really wanted that night. The food is OK though, it’s not bad. I’ve had a lot worse, and a lot better.
