Great service especially from Howard. Lovely clean seating area on the front. Good coffee and cakes and great value. Highly recommend.

We came here and had a coffee whilst a weekend away and when I ordered 2 coffees I paid by card and the guy told me that this hadn't gone through when checked my banking he had charged me twice. Also someone in our party had a scone and this was suppose to come with butter and jam and this only came with jam. What poor service we received. I will not be returning to this coffee house.

Popped in for the first time, fancied trying a milkshake as I had heard how nice they are, and they did not disappoint. All the staff were lovely, and made me feel very welcome, especially the young lass that served me, I believe her name was Isobel, absolute service with a smile, highly recommend

Best coffee in Scarbados. If you're lucky you might get a rendition of Elton John's "Blue Eyes". ....we did and it stayed with us all day.

Good coffee, lovely cake choice (the coffee cake I had was excellent) and very welcoming staff, young and old providing very prompt service. Superb position and the outside area at this time of year is fine if it is not raining, plus tables inside, it is sheltered by the adjacent building but still has views of the beach and sea. Best cafe on South Bay in my opinion.

We popped in here for a warm brew as it was cold and out of season. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Even let the two dogs in as well. There is a good gluten free choice also. Top marks

Lovely cafe just across from the beach on the south bay, with very kind and helpful staff. I had a nice toastie, chai latte and scone. We visited twice whilst on holiday and the owner made my little boy a sandwich to go even when they were closing up! Appreciated it very much. Toilets also nice and clean and baby/child friendly. It was quiet today in the café . Nice and clean place on the front of the South bay at Scarborough with seats outside for the good weather times . Most important thing here for me was that our lattes were hot on delivery by the waiting staff . I find most places serve a warm drink and by the time you have a first drink its nearly cold . Good view of the harbour / beach and lighthouse along with snacks to fill you up .

My family visited on Friday 31st of march. And well it took 25 minutes for drinks to arrive and it was cold when it came. There was one blonde boy who had his fingers in his mouth biting his nails the whole time and was jabdlong food and drinks and he never washed his hands once. There is also many reviews about the tall oldish man and they are infact very very true. He's rude, slow, and extremely sexist and he was talking about people have intercourse in the ear space of young children. How many chances does the man get. I will never be visiting again.

New to the area and our first time visiting the Bay View for coffee and hot choc, hubby had noticed it and wanted to test it out. Visited on Boxing Day following a walk along the beach. Very busy inside with overflow sitting outside. Hubby the coffee snob enjoyed his coffee and the hot choc was nice yet a bit too sweet for me (a pre-diabetic). Like to support the independent shops and cafes rather than the large chains. Following the busy period, tables were cleared and wiped down, prior to that the mess was just left, customers just pushed the crockery to one side which is a bit lazy of the staff. Pleasant atmosphere, staff friendly. The test is would we visit again - yes we would. See you again.

Popped in here this morning (18 Dec) for a quick hot chocolate. Lovely amaretto and baileys hot choc and complimentary mince pie. Sat outside with blankets and enjoyed the view. Far worth visiting small business with character and warm staff than chain coffee shops. Give it a try.

Excellent coffee and gorgeous fresh cakes. The waiter was a bit rude and kept pretending he didn’t understand me. He was very surly and poorly dressed. Didn’t go inside so can’t comment on cleanliness. Brilliant outside to people watch

We popped in for a coffee last week and were appalled at how slow and useless the staff were. As other reviewers have said, lots of rubbish on the floor and dirty tables. The coffee was very average. Much better coffee shops on the seafront to visit.

For some time this has been our favourite cafe in Scarborough. The expresso martini was the best for miles around. Visited today to find a dirty cafe, inside and out. Tables not cleared after visitors had left, and lots of rubbish on the floor of the outside tables. Cafe run by teenagers who seemed to have no idea. Has this cafe changed hands? Very disappointed and we will not be rushing back.

In fairness it was a busy day, but the service in this place was shocking. It was taking up to 30 minutes for people to just get hot drinks, my other half watched as someone who came in 20 minutes after us got what we assume was her coffee within minutes of sitting down, having to actually go and ask for them to make her drink after having waited at least another 10 minutes with no sign. No apology for the wait, felt like our very presence was an inconvenience, and it is not like we were rude about it, we understand what it can be like having worked in hospitality ourselves. The cappuccino was good when it eventually arrived which was the only real saving grace at this point.

Ordered 2 coffees and 2 carrot cakes, then realised my husband wanted tea. They changed the order without a fuss and refunded the difference. Coffee was nice and strong and the cake was lovely. Well worth a stop. Thanks.

Great place. Indoor and outdoor seating. Eat in or takeaway. Staff great service great and the price is also good. We stopped in had pot of tea and a cake each. Loved it definitely will use again or recommend to people going to Scarborough for a nice place to sit and absorb in the views while grabbing a bite to eat. Thanks again.

We have been here several times usually for breakfast and coffee. The menu is good and staff are very friendly. It’s very clean and conveniently situated on beach front.

This is a great café any time of year. Ros has created a coffee shop with character and there are always friendly, efficient staff on hand to bring you great coffee, teas and scones, cakes, fresh-cooked paninis and other savoury meals. Prices are reasonable and the south-facing seafront location is superb, offering views of the bay from the seating outside and, when it's rainy or windy, from the inside. One always feels welcome at the Bay View, which is why it's a favourite haunt of sea swimmers. The sea is just across the road and we know we'll soon get warmed up there! In case you don't know: bacon baps, paninis, cakes, flapjacks and tea or cappuccino are all recommended after a dip in the bracing South Bay waters!

Best coffee on the seafront. Always served with a smile. Really well organised for takeaway at the moment. Bacon butties are lovely, nice crisp bacon and toasted bun and they have the nicest teacakes which have a hint of spice and served with lashing of proper butter. They even have free dog biscuits for your canine companion. Can't wait for it to reopen properly so we can have a full breakfast.

We were staying in Scarborough overnight and decided to go for an early morning work along the foreshore before breakfast. We happened upon The Bayview Coffee House and enjoyed a superb breakfast, sat outside on the pavement. It was the 7th October and the weather was perfect, bright sunshine without a cloud in the sky. (Note the photo of The Grand Hotel with cloudless azure sky). Not bad for October.My vegetarian partner enjoyed a huge plate of beans on toast and my cooked breakfast was perfect. This was a great place to sit and watch the world go by whilst enjoying the hot sun over the bay.A fantastic hour and the price was really so reasonable.

Food was absolutely beautiful, we came for breakfast and it was so so tasty and reasonably priced too! My friends partner loved the bacon,egg and mushroom sandwich so much he ordered another one! They were accommodating for different types of milk also i got a strawberry oat shake and it was amazing! Very pleasant experience, i definitely recommend!

We spent a lovely couple of hours over a weekend at this cafe, despite the covid19 situation they made us very welcome and we had the most amazing carrot cake which was made locally - please could you tell us who supplies this cake as by the time we got back home we had forgotten who you had told us did so. Will definitely be back next time in Scarborough.

Brilliant little coffee house. Very reasonable prices and great quality. Stopped in twice! One for tea and cake, and again the next morning for bacon baps. Really friendly welcoming staff and good service. Would definitely recommend for a rest off your feet from sightseeing, or for a whole meal.

Went yesterday sat outside, woman i took to be manager said she would be with is shortly.another 2 couples came and sat down in the following 10 minutes. Male waiter, older man came and took one couples order, as he left their table i asked if we could order, he snapped he was doing one, went back inside, another 5 minutes passed then he came outside and went to another table.all the time I tried to get eye contact. Must be too hard to turn a page on his notepad and take a second order whilst outside? Left after around 15 minutes unserved. Appalling service.

Fantastic coffee shop. On a very blustery February day (Remnants of storm Dennis) we were extremely thankful that this lovely place allowed our dog inside, which enable us to get out of the bad weather and have hot chocolate, tea & coffee and some delicious cakes too! They even offered our pooch dog biscuits! Thank you great people of Bay View Coffee House, you made our day!

Had a lovely coffee break here, they were dog friendly too! Had some treats for the dog, and lovely cake helped too. Will gladly come back here again!! I had the flat white, the wife and one of the sons had a really lovely hot chocolate. The chocolate fudge cake was great as well.

On a very windy, rainy day on the weekend of the visit of Hurricane Dennis to these parts, it was a pleasure to get out of the wind and rain to enjoy a fine Latte with Coffee & Walnut Cake as an accompaniment, served by attentive staff. I will be back, with others in the future too try some of their other homemade cakes and pastries. High recommended!

Popped into this beautiful coffee house with my partner and friend this morning for two reasons. 1- it was more or less the only place open on Scarborough Seafront and secondly the coffee house looked modern and beautiful decor. Once entering I was not disappointed. Best coffee in Scarborough, staff extremely friendly, food fresh and tasty! Definitely worth paying the small price for such an amazing atmosphere!
