Looking for light lunch so had a starter of spicy fishcake and ordered a side of chips and it was just right. Decent quality food here and good friendly service by a group of young waitresses. Would come again.

We had a lovely visit to the Bay Horse. The staff were friendly and our meal was really nice. The chips are homecooked and absolutely delicious. I'd go back for the chips alone. Just one little thing, my Chicken in leek and mushroom sauce could have done with being a bit more creamy and with a little more seasoning. Apart from that, perfect!

Went here for an anniversary lunch, all seemed fine had the parmo and the chicken curry. We both thought the food was average. The chips looked and tasted like they had been reheated. Fast forward 90 minutes and we both had bad tummy's and the only place we had eaten was here. Not a pleasant anniversary experience. We won't be back

The pub itself is lovely - tidy and well presented country village pub. The drinks are fine - and you can’t really go wrong pouring a pint of Peroni and a glass of Sauv Blanc. The drinks prices were West End Of London costs though. Nearly £15 for a pint and a glass of wine. Ordered lunch and it was Ok. It was screaming hot and came less than 10 minutes after ordering. It was ok, but could have been much nicer. All in all I’d go back, but there’s lots of other places I’d pick first for value and quality.

Been twice recently and both times were really good. We ordered a variety of food the first time. Sunday lunch and other mains. All good. Lovely hot plates and food. This Sunday we both ordered a Sunday lunch and again lovely hot plates and food. Really enjoyed the main courses and desserts. Lovely staff. Really helpful.

Outstanding Sunday lunch. Best in area. Very impressed. Unfortunately spoilt by crying children whose parents had no control which spoilt the occasion. The staff were aware but did nothing to advice the parents of the behaviour was affecting the other diners.

Decent food, crazy bar prices. Stopped here for Sunday lunch. Food was pretty good, we had a selection of Beef, Chicken & Pork. All hot and tasty although the mash was instant. Food was pricey but acceptable in current times however the price of the drinks was shocking. Two lemonades, a small glass of wine and a lager shandy for £19. That alone will stop us returning which is a big shame. Family of four having Sunday lunch with only one drink each for just short of £70 is a bit excessive. Would have loved to look at the desert menu but would have been looking nearer £100.

Great venue & location, hosted a birthday luncheon. Super food, very accommodating staff, attentive and very polite , happy to accommodate subtle changes to the running order , gave 100% plus to ensure we had a great experience.

Always superb, warm welcome, friendly and efficient service, food second to none, good portions, excellent value for money.

With regard to the unreasonable and unfair review left today by Peter D (who was seated on the next table to us), we would like to say that Peter D was a difficult customer who appeared determined to find fault. My partner and I love The Bay Horse. It is wonderful in every respect. The food is gorgeous, the staff are really lovely and super accommodating. The establishment is really cosy and homely and in an excellent location with ample parking. Every visit has been a joy. Today we were seated at our table and were immediately interrupted by Peter D and his elderly Father on the next table to us. They complained that we had been seated at the table that they wanted. They continued complaining to us until we offered to swap tables with them. They refused this offer yet still continued to complain. Peter D then asked for the manageress to be brought to his table and he was rude and insulting to her. In response the manageress was really polite and charming. We were taken aback by the attitude of Peter D, bearing in mind that all he seemed to want was our table (which we had already offered to him!). The owner approached Peter D and asked him to refrain from being rude to his staff. He handled the matter very nicely and professionally and was polite and accommodating, even offering Peter D the opportunity to accept his drinks on the house if he preferred to leave rather than wait for the food that he had ordered. We had a lovely meal, as always, and thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic fayre from the talented chef. The ladies who waited on us were really friendly and attentive and provided excellent service. We were slightly distracted by Peter D, who continued to chunter in a really unpleasant manner and we were able to hear him discussing his plans with his Father to leave unfair and negative reviews about this fabulous venue. Many thanks to The Bay Horse for being amazing and fabulous.

This place has really deteriorated in quality and service. Fish and chips and the batter was an inch thick from multiple refries. Some of the staff really try but the owner and manager are incredibly rude. I wouldn’t go to this place again which is a shame as we used to be regulars. There are far more better value places around with better food.

My husband and I visited here by chance this evening with our 3 children after another restaurant had made a mistake with our booking and was unable to seat us. Trying to think of somewhere else, my husband called the Bay Horse and luckily for us they had just had a cancellation but advised they were busy and that there could be a bit of a wait for food. We were greeted by a number of friendly staff on arrival and I must say, the service throughout the evening really stood out. All staff were attentive and friendly and I didn't feel we had any longer wait than I would expect, despite being busy. We had main courses and desserts, all of which were delicious and the meal overall was good value for money. It's been several years since we dined here but we will absolutely be returning, even the children said before leaving, "can we come here again?" Chance brought us here tonight but good food and good service will bring us back!

We had lunch on Christmas Day and it couldn’t have been any better. The pub was really nicely decorated and all the staff were very welcoming and friendly. There was a good range of options on the menu, including vegetarian. All the food we had was absolutely delicious. Definitely the best meal we have had in the local area. Fantastic.

We are here when on holiday in the village. A very warm welcome from staff. Beautifully & tastefully decorated for Christmas. Drinks order taken & brought promptly. Meals ordered short wait but was very busy & all food cooked freshly from local produce. Food was well cooked nicely presented & very hot. A lovely place to eat.

Called in without a reservation on a Tuesday lunchtime and although it was busy we were welcomed by friendly cheerful staff and served with delicious meals. The pub is a comfortable traditional country Inn in a pleasant village within easy reach of beautiful countryside.

Many thanks for a beautiful lunch on 23 May. We travelled from Lincolnshire to meet friends who moved to Stokesley and what a beautiful pub and restaurant this is. Food and staff awesome.

We had an evening meal with friends for the first time here. The service was very good, really pleasant staff who attended to our needs without complaint. The food was quite good, no complaints. The only reason we did not give 5 stars was that after about half an hour a very noisy possibly intoxicated group of 3 men we seated at the next table to us and put a damper on our previously nice evening with friends. We could not hear each other due to the noise of the next table, not once did staff have a quiet word. Shame.
