Finding somewhere to eat in Whitby without being attacked by gulls is difficult. We spotted this cafe and were very impressed. Good choice of meals and drinks, good prices and quick friendly service. We sat inside which is spacious and clean but could still see the pier and sea. Will definitely be returning there in our next visit.

Sadly this was one of the worst breakfasts I have ever had served to me The sausages were cheap, synthetic tasting, the bacon extremely salty & the hash brown tasted like it had been deep fried in old oil. The toast and marmalade was very nice as was the coffee and the view, sadly the rest was not

Autistic unfriendly experience There was zero understanding, patience and tolerance when my autistic son became overwhelmed due to a loud funfair ride outside, and tried to close the doors to reduce the noise. He was wearing an autistic badge highlighting his autism and asking people to be patient, to help people around us be aware if he became overwhelmed. The food was very good. I hope the staff can have some training to improve the experience for other autistic people/other people who may struggle who visit. It is relatively common for autistic people to become overwhelmed in noisy/busy environments.

Stayed in Whitby for 4 nights and called in here 3 mornings on the bounce. We found the breakfast to be just right nice and fresh with a good size pot of tea and coffee and toast a plenty, The place is spotless with nice friendly Staff and fantastic sea view.

Let’s be honest, you are paying over the odds for the great location and the view. Otherwise it really isn’t worth it. Filter coffee was quite nice but at £2 a cup it’s expensive, the breakfast took almost 30 minutes to be prepared when the cafe was less than half full. It wasn’t worth the wait. Cheap ingredients and an expensive price tag. Do yourself a favour, have a coffee and admire the view, then get breakfast elsewhere.

Poor service, was not busy when we arrived. There was 3 of us so we ordered 3 breakfasts, half hour later I asked the young land who was fetching the food out how much longer they were going to be and he said "we are busy, it's not there fault and it will be another half an hour, when the food eventually arrived he just slammed the food on the table and walked off, I complained to the woman behind the counter but she was not interested,

My partner and I came here for breakfast, we had a sausage bap with coffee and a breakfast stottie with apple juice. We couldn't fault it, the stottie was awesome, very filling and tasty ingredients. We later came back for cake to take home which was just as good! A lovely little cafe with loads of seating and great views, really friendly service with a smile, we will visit again when we come back to whitby.

Not a good experience at this cafe on our 3rd day in Whitby, I didn’t rate the food found it very basic and found the older woman rude and very abrupt. Nice views of the sea and pier but that’s about it. Lots of better cafes we found over the course of our visit.

Me and my husband go to Whitby every year for our anniversary. The place where we would normally go for breakfast had closed down. It was a very windy morning walking along the pier so we just decided to try this place as we pasted it.We didn’t have much conversation with the gentleman serving us while he took our order but was pleasant enough. He asked if we wanted filter coffee or Nescafé, great idea because both my husband and myself cannot Stand filter coffee!! Four slices of toast arrived with a pot of marmalade and butter, not long after our breakfasts arrived. Booth cooked breakfasts were lovely, can’t complain about anything. Yes it’s a basic breakfast but it was perfectly edible.

Came today with our disabled service user who is autistic and also has CP.Our guy was attracted to the cafe as they had shiny tables and chairs. We were going to get our main meal but they didn't have what he wanted. so not to disappoint him we got fish & chips from a near by take away with a view to getting our desserts from the cafe. We had started to eat when a chap from the cafe came and told us we can't eat fish & chips on their tables and we had to move. Our guy who is clearly disabled was very upset at not being able to eat at the "shiny" tables and ended up putting his dinner in the bin!Now I understand we hadn't bought this food there but it wasn't as if there wasn't enough chairs and tables. (There was probably a hundred empty chairs) and we were planning on buying our desserts there. In fact the place was practically empty and we had placed our selves right out of the way.It really wouldn't have hurt them to allow us to sit there.Very unfriendly place.

this is your typical seaside café but that is nothing to complain about. The scones here are amazing, I think they can them from Bothams and then fill them with jam and cream themselves. However this will receive no complaints from me as it was one of the best cream scones I have ever eaten. My husband had a Bothams cornflake cake which was lovely as well. The drinks were lovely and hot and not that expensive. We were so taken with the quality of the cakes we had we ordered two pieces of their apple pie to take out for pudding after our evening meal and were weren't disappointed it was lovely. Great views as well

This is not a posh or pretentious spot, more like a good transport cafe, just without lorises! Sitting on the terrace can be noisy when the fairground rides get going but if you need refreshments and are near the beach, it is no better or worse than neighbouring establishments and they served a decent mug of tea! Could be worth fixing their one multi use (M/F and Disabled) toilet door lock though as the lack of 'privacy' on an outward opening door could prove embarrassing!

Amber - one of the waitresses looked very smart and was very tentative and polite, she delivered our delicious meal in a very quick time. Abbey - also very polite, helped deliver our meal which a friendly smile. Overall the staff were amazing, the owners even said goodbye as we left. Will defiantly return soon!! DELICIOUS

This is a great little cafe with seating outside that enables you to take in the view of Whitby beach and the sea and views across to sandsend. Ok it's not a la carte or fine dining , but what it does it does well. It's cafe food with fish and chips and snacks , but they are always so tasty! It helps having the great view of the sea and the beach close at hand. I've had many a happy time here and it's always great to come and unwind here and be replenished after a day on the beach with the kids. This is one of my happy places, oh and the staff are always helpful and nice too.

Average cafe on the pier in whitby, we ordered two sausage buns and a portion of chips which was quite expensive for what it was, but we didn't mind. When we sat down the view is amazing but when our food order did come we were greeted by a boy chewing over our food, which is just rudeness to me he slammed the food onto the table and off he went, i was going to inform someone of the rudeness of this young man but the cafe was extremely busy and i didn't want to disturb them any longer. Small café right at the end of Pier Road. It overlooked the pier and had seating outside sounds good well ... We placed our order 2 fish and chips, 2 sausage and chips order number 74. Fish and Chip take away and café. We sat and waited for our meals watching the seagulls swoop down as people left their tables their meals half eaten. Waited ... waited ... waited ... numbers called out non below our number may I add. After two gulls jumped on the table next to us we moved (Yes I know not the café owners fault) but still we moved. We noticed at least 3 lots of fish and chips come out by this time they were calling order numbers 88 to 92. When 96 was called I approached the ordering hatch window and asked if our order would be much longer. "Its coming" was the reply abruptly. I replied that I was only enquiring. Again I was spoken to like a teacher scolding a unruly child. "There was 4 others before you."I walked back to my seat ate my food while keeping a close eye on the gathering gulls. The chips weren't very warm. The fish batter was somehow crispy at the ends but soggy in the middle. The mushy peas were hard. My wife left half of hers as a lot of others had. The kids left their chips half eaten. All in all this was a very poor fish and chip and we will find another if we return to Whitby.

My son has a dairy allergy and often has to settle for sorbet when at an ice cream parlour. Truly Scrumptious gave him an amazing choice of dairy free ice creams and toppings. We wouldn’t normally have 3 ice creams in 3 days but he was just so excited that he had choices, how could we not??!!

Food was ok. Price was a little steep. Service was nothing to write home about. BUT what was really annoying, after paying by card and leaving, was being chased down on a busy pavement by a member of staff saying the payment didn't go through - tried again and again, then another card and the another card with the staff member carrying the payment machine saying all declined when none of them should have failed ! Because golden grid has been established for such a long time you'd have thought they would have sorted this problem out but apparently not ! it's not like it would cost them much to get better devices with better reception but no they can't be bothered. SO be prepared to be chased down and embarrassed.

We had a lovely lunch with family today, enjoying the view from above and the sunshine. However, when my food was being served, the sizzling from the oil in it landed on my husband's coat. When we asked for the bill, I explained the situation to the lady, who by the way was the person who served us the food, and she barely apologized. I would expect a better handling of the situation...
