We were short on time but the staff managed to accommodate us and get our food cooked and served in good time. There was no compromise on flavour either. All food was very tasty.

We chose bar salento for My Wife's Retirement function as she and her work colleagues often used it when they worked in nearby offices for lunchtime takeaway meals and snacks,and for birthday celebrations after work.She met with Roberto one of the owners to discuss the food arrangements for the evening the food was excellent and very good value .The staff were polite and attentive all evening checking that the food was kept topped up.The bar and restaurant has a nice relaxed vibe to it and we look forward to returning soon.Also a good selection of wines and beers were available as well as cocktails.All in all a great evening was had by all.A big thank you to all at Solentos .Mr and Mrs Bennett....

Cozy place, excellent service and quality of food! There is a wide choice on the menu and we decided to have the burrata and Italian starter and two pizzas! The appetizer with different cured meats and cheeses, the burrata was exquisite. Everything was of excellent quality, it's a shame that we weren't able to eat the entire pizza because we couldn't take it anymore but the waitress suggested we take the remaining pieces home! We will definitely be back!

Great pizza, fast and efficient service, lunch time during week very busy, evenings less so. Relatively inexpensive especially for London. Everything genuine Italian food and ingredients. You can also buy some of these as they have some items on sale.

I give this restaurant a 10/10 for the food, service and the price. Hands down the best own pizza I had in London and their 2 for 1 prices are bargain. Highly recommend!

Just stumbled on this restaurant while having an evening walk had pizza and pasta it was was excellent beer great .only thing that let this friendly lovely restaurant down was the toilets they definitely need a spruce up but will not stop us going again .

I love this little cheap and cheerful restaurant. Not the best food ever, but nice to have somewhere cheap and easy that focuses on great service.

Went here tonight via the fork and was very impressed all the ladies that served us were great the food and wine was good and the prices were excellent they do some good deals and the place seemed authentic the deserts both tiramisu and affogato were excellent I will be back to try the pizzas!

What a fab find! We were late and let them know, but they were very accommodating and gave a warm welcome. Lovely friendly staff, made for a family vibe. Traditional yummy Italian food. My niece and I shared yummy burrata. I had the seafood pasta, very moreish and filling. My niece had lasagne and loved it. The cocktails were just right and the prices were surprisingly good. Great value for money. Would definitely come back and highly recommend. We had a very special night. Thank you!

A pleasant surprise tucked away in docklands, my father and i went for an evening meal here and found the service and food to be absolutely fantastic. A warm welcome, an authentic welcome! We asked if they could book us a taxi back to the local travelodge we were staying at. Being disabled I would not have made the walking distance, Roberto the co owner actually got his car and saved us the extortionate cab fare! Roberto, eternally grateful and the food and dining was fantastic 🤌🇮🇹

Fantastic pizza, great service very friendly, slightly strange atmosphere somewhere in between cafe/bar/takeaway. Food so good and reasonable would probably order pizza and pasta when I go back. Ideal location for staying in Travelodge and a million times better than their bar/restaurant.

Found this restaurant on TripAdvisor as it was close to the hotel we were staying at. The food was amazing and well worth the money, the service was friendly and welcoming and the restaurant had a nice vibe and atmosphere. We would return if we are in the area again.

If you love your pizza, this is the place to eat. Friendly people, great food, very close to East India station. If you’re staying at one of the local hotels this is a great option.

Service is quick and friendly. Buffet food is limited and tasteless. Choice of 6 dishes for £10. One was peas with tomato, one was tiny soggy pizza pieces, another was small chicken drumsticks with zero flavouring, another was vegetarian pasta with again was virtually pasta with tomatoes. Pint of beer £7.50. One to avoid.

yesterday I went for a Pizza with my friend. The service was lovely. The girls were so attentive, kind and prompt in delivering the best service. The food offers good value. I go often since it's also located in a lovely place and I order home delivery too. highly recommended

We were told about this restaurant by Carla, the receptionist at the nearby Travelodge. She said she had heard good things about it but hadn't been in herself. She was not wrong, this place is fantastic. The staff were really friendly, the menu was excellent and the atmosphere was really great with a good level of background music, people chattering and general movement. We ordered 2 starters, one was spicy prawns, and the other was avocado and feta cheese salad. This was followed by a large meaty pizza and a good size calzone pizza. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu, which was presented beautifully on the plate. It was lovely and moist, but I felt it should have had a little more of a coffee flavour to it. However, the food was excellent and add that to the staff and atmosphere, it was a lovely experience and worth every penny.

Being greeted by a friendly and smiling staff is always a good sign when going to a place like Salento! After being seated and handed over the menu, we ordered (and to my surprise) a really affordable meal deal (pizza + soft drink). I honestly think their pizza deserves a lot more praise! From the crust to the texture itself, my wife and I enjoyed every bite! I am fairly sure that whenever I come to London, I will be sure to visit again!

We found this nice place by chance as we explored the near-by area and were delighted we did. Best described as an upmarket pizza/pasta restaurant we found eveything about it almost perfect. Ww were greeted in a welcoming manner and sat in a pleasant part of the restaurant, a slightly raised area. Menus were supplied promptly and when ordering drinks were asked if we would like a jug of tap water for the table. A nice touch, and something you almost always need to adk for. The food was really delicious. Our starters of Bruchetta and tomatoes were fresh and tasty. Mains was a pasta dish and a swordfish, both hot and very enjoyable.. Desserts of caramel brownie and tiramisu rounded our meal off perfectly. The staff at Salento were charming and polite and the food, including two alcoholic drinks worked out at around £30 per head, amazing value. We look forward to returning in the future.

We had a buy a gift voucher and decided to go here after a show. We parked nearby (after 6.30 pm it’s free) and we’re very pleasantly surprised. Nice setting outside and had a lovely time inside. Food was really good, a bottle of wine was included and staff were lovely. Couldn’t fault it. The steak was perfect and the pasta excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Friendly staff and pretty decent pizza! If you're on a budget, get the £5 take away pizza and sit outside near the beautiful water with the lilies... We tried the pepperoni and it was good for the price though I would've liked a bit less of the tomato sauce and for it to have been left in the wood oven for a bit longer. Would still recommend :)

Had a lovely 3 course lunch with wine using a Buy a gift voucher given to us by a friend. The choice for each course was very good. The food was really tasty and well presented and the staff were all lovely. Never been before but will be back.

We called here for take away pizza on the Saturday evening of the London Marathon as we were staying in the Travelodge Hotel nearby. The staff were very welcoming and the service was great. The pizza's were freshly made and very tasty. Would definitely recommend and would go there for a meal if we were in the area again.

Food was great and most of the staff very caring. One staff member has a not a very customer service friendly attitude (long hair lady with glasses). Inexpressive, not very talkative and really dry answers, she would approach the table with a drink and not even saying a single word, just lifting the drink. I’m leaving 4 stars because the other staff is great and I don’t want one staff member attitude to affect a place I really like.

A very nice little Italian cafe, come diner, come bar. Has a great team of friendly staff working behind the bar or serving your table. There are a couple of beers on tap, a couple of decent wines and plenty of other alcoholic beverages from the top shelf to choose from. Happy hour is from 4-7pm with delicious pizza for £5. Worth a visit.

Nice place for lunch break. You have options of fourchette table or menu of the day and regular menu. What can be nice diversification, depending on what mood you are.

Food is always delicious but the service makes me so uncomfortable to a point where I don’t even want to stay any minute longer. Better to take out than being served there. They don’t know their menu well enough. As a restaurant I think you should train the staff to some kind of standard. No way of explaining it otherwise you just have to experience it to understand how uncomfortable the service is….

Went with a gift voucher, food is good, pricing is fair and staff are very friendly. They even gave us free limoncello at the end which was very nice of them although I don't drink and you can't really ask for a shot of diet coke instead. But me and my partner had a great time.

Nice Italian place and bar in East London

My fiancé and I visited on 11/01/2023 with a gift voucher we were given. We absolutely loved the food, the calamari and garlic bread, carbonara and chicken tikka and the cheesecake and chocolate brownie were all so amazing. The staff were all so welcoming attentive and amazing. Will defo be returning on our future trips to London. Thank you!

Lovely place that we came across last weekend. We were at travelodge nearby and this was 10 min walk. Hit the bar at 4pm for 2 for 1 cocktails. And then back later for lovely dinner. Place was buzzing on a Friday night. Food delicious. Service and staff fabulous. Would highly recommend. We had a great night and start to our weekend in London

Disgusting service and poor quality pizza. We ordered some pizza to be delivered. The pizzas were supposed to have something on top.. Like anything! The ortolana literally came with 2 small pieces of aubergine spreaded on a very bland pizza. The delivery time was over one hour even if we had PAID EXTRA to have it earlier than the 20 minutes THEY accepted to deliver, as we ordered from Uber Eats and you have the option to set a realistic time to give to your customers (if you know how to do your job). Still they couldn't work out priorities and failed to inform us of any delay. But the worst thing is that when they were asked, they tried to BLAME IT ON US! They said we should have called them instead of waiting 1 hour and then blamed it on Uber Eats and told us we should have ordered from Deliveroo! So basically they told us we shouldn't have trusted them and their ability to work professionally.. Then they also tried not to take responsibility for the food they made, saying that it's the "Italian way" to go for quality rather than quantity, so the topping of that pizza was supposed to be exactly like that.. Non existent! Why didn't I order a Margherita then? Well news flash.. I'm Italian! I've tried pizza from Sicily to freaking Piedmont. Quality over quantity yes. But there was not even quality on the cold, sad pizza they have sent us. It was ridiculous. People in that place are just ridiculous and totally unprofessional. Not to mention they reply on the phone straight away in Italian like we're not living in London and everyone should be required to know their language to order.. No more. Never again. And I'm sure they will reply even to this review trying to blame someone else for their failures and shift any responsibility to something else once again, as usual I believe. But people needs to know that if they want pizza at home, they'd better go there grab it themselves, or just order somewhere else.

Awful quality pizza, chewy and with no toppings at all. Basically all Margherita bases with something on top (veggies or whatever you sadly decide to go for). Waiting time for delivery was so long that we were better off traveling to Italy and picking up our pizzas. Lastly, their customer service? Low-key arrogant and non existent…like their toppings!

This is honestly one of the best pizzas in London. I live close to the place, but never tried it for years. Once I tried their pizza, it became a weekly basis treat. Personally, I find it better than Pizza Pilgrims and Franco Manca and roughly on the same level as Zia Lucia, which is great as well. Can't comment on the other food as I haven't tried, but pizza is a big thumbs up. Focaccia tricolore is outstanding!

Just to start I have no problem with anyone who eats hallal food it's a choice and I respect it. As a Christian I choose not to so I called this restaurant to enquire weather or not it was hallal as it is not specified on the uber eats app, after explaining my food choices to a lady she told me she will give me none hallal food when I order which seemed strange as how would she know I ordered anyway the phone was then take by a man (manager I assume) who quite bluntly told me all the meat was hallal that was a bit confusing because I was told I would have non hallal (christian) he asked me my reason so I told him my faith to which he laughed. I was tottaly shocked and quite upset by this total lack of understand and basic human respect. So just to make it simple advertise that you are fully hallal on the app to avoid being disrespectful to non hallal eating customer. God bless

Restaurant choice near the hotel I'm in is very limited so decided to give Salento a try as it seemed to be the best-rated restaurant in the vicinity. So glad I did. Food excellent and the staff were lovely. Wouldn't hesitate to come back here if I stay in the area again.

Absolutely fabulous food, could not fault. Very friendly and welcoming staff particularly Anna who wad so nice and Elizabeth was lovely too. Calamari was cooked to perfection and the pasta dishes were delicious. Would highly recommend ☺️

By far the best Calzone in London & the best place to have a quiet meal/ date. My favourite pizza of all time will always be a Calzone. I can guarantee you that Salento will provide you with the highest quality Calzone in London. Me and my partner are eating at Salento for the past year and a half, at least once a month. The prices are very affordable, considering the area (East India/ Canary Wharf), the staff is extremely friendly and prompt, the restaurant is constantly cleaned and maintained by employees and the owner will constantly look after you. Additionally, the coffee is outstanding, you cannot go wrong with Lavazza coffee. Would surely recommend Salento for Italian cuisine and the best Calzone in London.

Went to have dinner there on a Friday night. We did not book but they gave us a table. At the beginning they gave us a table, but it was too cold there (as the table was next to a high AC) so we asked to change it and they accommodated us in the main room. I ordered Salmone alla pizzaiola and the lady kindly told me the name had nothing to do with the real "pizzaiola style". When it arrived I could notice that the salmon was a really small filet. It was too salty, I said it to the lady and she didn't offer me to change the plate, she just advice me that she would have told it to the chef. As a dessert I have affogato and it was really really good (however a loacker cookie in it had nothing to do). Overall, staff is kind and lovely, food is ok, nothing special.

Is good Italian place. Friendly staff, the owner is very kind to costumers, good pasta, and they have some good lunch buffet options for lunch. The pizza is tasty and is not wait for it.

Pleasant surrounding area. We had good spaghetti carbonara and dull and tasteless lasagne. Drinks were good and reasonably priced. Place fells like British pub with Italian food.

Myself and my partner booked this restaurant on 2nd July as I had a buyagift voucher for a date night and can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. The food... OMG!! Was absololutely beautiful. The staff were really lovely and polite and very accommodating. We will definitely be booking another evening here for a nice meal out again.
