Solid coffee shop to go to. The environment is nice and friendly and it’s a good place to chill for some time. The 8.0 coffee was pretty good as well, just a little bitter on the aftertaste but overall a good cup.

This venue was great for my son and daughter in law's wedding reception. It is intimate and quirky. It was a vegan wedding breakfast and the team excelled themselves re food, drinks and service. The food was creative and beautifully presented. Thank you

I VISITED FOR A WEDDING RECEPTION/BREAKFAST/DISCO AFTERNOON AND EVENING PRIVATE EVENT ON SATURDAY 30 MARCH 2024 THIS VENUE IS A COFFER SHOP WHEN NOT LET OUT FOR PRIVATE FUNCTIONS. THERE WERE APPROX 40 GUESTS, EVERYTHING FROM THE RECEPTION TO THE WAY IT IS ALL SET OUT, TO THE FOOD, TO THE QUICK TRANSFORMATON FROM ENDING THE MEAL TO STARTING THE DISCO, WAS EXCELLENT. THE MANAGER AND ALL THE STAFF WERE WONDERFUL I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT FOR A PRIVATE FUNCYION, THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS VERY POPULAR, SO TO BOOK YOU MAY HAVE TO DO IT A YEAR OR MORE AHEAD FOR YOUR SPECIAL OCCASSION.

They have the best coffee I have ever tasted. Always good and very chilled out round the back. Love this place

Coffee tastes good, pastry okay. Really bad service. Waiting for my coffee more than 30min, two different couples got their orders straight away coming in after me. A member of the staff went to the table area asking for missing orders to everyone but I had to go to the bar reminding my coffee as she did not ask me. Waiting for it again for 10-15min. Finally I was bored, tired. Coming back to the bar to request a refund of the coffee and the barista did not know how to do it, unbelievable! Another 10min waiting for him to find my transaction. The other staff ran to the table area when I asked for the refund. He did not find it and I had to get a take away coffee. The barista complained how busy the place was…but they were talking to each other doing nothing when I went to the bar again to request my refund. It doesn’t matter the taste of the coffee if your staff is incompetent. Never will go again and I will not recommend to anyone either.

Absolutely amazing coffee... PERFECTLY made...two shots standard. I've visited a few times now and I've never been disappointed. Little less space to sit in, not sure what's happening with the larger space at the back of their premises, it used to be gorgeous there. Hopefully they are just redecorating. Anyway, great staff, great coffee!!!! Thanks ✨

One of my favourites in the area. The coffee is good, the pastries are tasty, the decoration is among the best I've seen in London, there is ample room, and people are really nice.

Lovely comfortable surroundings, and delicious almond croissant. My experience was only let down by the rather small coffee cups they use which seem incredibly stingy compared to every other coffee shop I've been in. I like the laptop policy though

Visité por primera vez hace unas semanas un sábado con mi hija y un amigo quedé muy impresionado con el ambiente relajado, tiene un espacio grande y encantador que se remonta un poco atrás y un espacio exterior. Desde la entrada no creerías lo grande que es. Mi segunda visita en la semana fue para trabajar con mi hija en nuestras computadoras portátiles y me sorprendió lo ocupado que estaba, otra mirada de profesionales trabajando en un entorno diferente fue interesante.

Solo estuve aquí una vez durante una ola de calor el verano pasado, pero fue un lugar encantador para sentarse y relajarse con un entorno tan interesante y el uso del espacio inusual. Realmente lo recomendaría! Además, los alrededores tienen mucho que ver.

I went one day to have a coffee and do some work on my laptop- something a plethora of people have done when I’ve visited previously. However recently I was told there is now a no laptop policy, and others around me were also told that. Honestly I understand that and don’t have issues with policies like that, it’s nice conversing face to face with people or perhaps it’s a reason to not stay super long and take up space (nonetheless people can stay just as long on their phones or with books or other people etc). However my main reason for leaving this review is that there should be a sign on the window and counter stating there’s a no laptop policy. This generation is heavily freelance based where sometimes working on your laptop in a cafe is what has to be done and is a nice break from your home. And it’s a waste of time and coffee to be then told there’s this policy - if it’s the customer’s choice where they go and why. The coffee and ambiance at Hackney Coffee Company is lovely- and I hate saying it’s a waste to be told halfway but it’s solely based off this policy - not the standard of their drinks / food. Just need a sign stating this - so people have the choice before going inside and purchasing things.

Dropped by in the morning for one of the best cups of coffee I’ve had in the city. Would highly recommend.

This is a review long overdue... When looking for venues for our engagement party, we came across Hackney Coffee Company. It is down the road from where we live but yet we had never been there! We went to visit it, and were met by friendly staff and absolutely delicious coffees. We fell in love with the place - the high ceilings, natural decor, and an atmosphere that makes you feel immediately relaxed and welcomed. From beginning to end - Faustine & James were so quick to answer every query we had in making our special evening come together. On the night itself, the staff took initiative to make sure all our guests were well looked after, their espresso martinis are DELICIOUS, the personalised drinks menus - every detail was thought of. We were so lucky to have a new floral installation put up just days before the event, which made such a dramatic impact. I would really recommend this place for all occasions - a coffee stop, or a venue for a special evening :)

Buen sitio para brunch si estás por la zona El local: espacioso, no necesitas reservar mesa con antelación, tiene terraza y está muy bien decorado, rollo hypster, boho-chic. La comida: muy buena. No hay muchísima opción para elegir en cuanto al brunch pero lo que hay está bueno. La parte de pastelería está muy bien también. El servicio: un poco desbordado/despistado. El local no estaba ni medio lleno y tardaron más de 20 en traer nuestro brunch. Tuvimos que recordarles el pedido de las bebidas y se les veía alto despistados. Fawlty Towers type service. Turned up at 16:35 before they closed at 17:00 and the visit went something like this. Me: One filter brew please. Surly Barista: We threw that away as it was 3 hour old! (Perhaps make one so it lasts till the end of your business hours) Me: one macchiato, one hot chocolate and one chocolate cake. SB: Ok, *starts preparing it in the paper cups. Me: For here please. SB: Sorry, company policy is paper cups if we are closing within 30 mins. My partner than points out we don’t want paper cups. Begrudgingly get proper cups after been told there is only normally one person here so they don’t have time to wash them. Another member of staff then chips in regarding they need to wash up and much discussion about whats the priority, customer service or staff convenience. All a bit awks. Conversation had with 3 members of staff in attendance. Don’t particularly want to discuss staffing issues and clean up schedule, just want to visit a place and get a coffee in a proper cup.

Rubbish service the guy serving refused to make me a large latte even though i offered to payany extra cost ,saying large cups only allowed for tea or filter coffee.Rediculous !I have been in the catering business for over 40 years and if you have any idea of customer service in this field you try to accomodate customers .Maybe it was my East London accent and i did not fit into the hipster culture .something to think on even the biggest chains can go down the pan and this shop is not one of them .bad service

I came today and took a chai latte and the vegan banana bread (this was amazing BTW), really cute place, you’re not wondering found this when you see the coffee from the outside Had a really good time, nice staff, nice decorations and cool music

I came here with my girlfriend on a Sunday afternoon as we’d seen pictures of the place and it looked really interesting and in an area of London we’d not really explored yet. The plants in the back room are a great feature, but not available to enjoy due to virtually every seat being taken by someone on a laptop. Annoying, as none of them seemed to be drinking any coffee! We sat at the front, which is just any other standard cafe and had a couple of reasonable cups of coffee. We did have to queue and pay in advance though, and they don’t bring the coffee to you and you are asked to wait at the bar to take it to your table yourself. Our second cup had to be served in a disposable cup too, unfortunately. There were lots of dirty ones of the regular kind around waiting to be washed. It’s a shame for the management that people do seem to use it for so long as a study/work area (can’t be great for profitability) but they could still up their game on service.

One of the best coffee shops in this part of town, and my personal favourite. Good coffee, great interiors and relaxed atmosphere. Only thing holding it back from a 5 star rating - the staff can be a little aloof at times. Maybe it’s a hipster thing!

Booked an Expresso Martini Class through Groupon. It was a great for my Daughter and I. Nice small class. Instructor very informative. Lovely surroundings. Would definitely recommend. Staff very friendly. Would go again.

I’m a regular in here as I live just down the road. Love the atmosphere in here - a great place to study or have a drink in the evening. Their cocktails are great as is the coffee. The manager is always super friendly but sometimes the service from the other staff can be a little surly - been rushed out the door a couple of times when they’re trying to close up on a weekend. Otherwise a great East London treasure. I see they are branching out to doing gigs and supper clubs now.

Went to a gig there last night run by Sofar sounds (songs from a room) saw 3 artists including the amazing Anna Pancaldi ( amazing voice) , it's brilliant they don't allow any phones or talking for each 20 minute set so you can really enjoy the music! Lovely cocktails too in a nice venue.

We decided to try the £6 cocktails (Wed-Fri) last night and what a surprise! They were amazing (and quite strong too), we also had the toasties, they were delicious! Very pleased this bar/coffee shop is around the corner from where we live!

Went for breakfast, and immediately felt we were not welcome, and asking to pay for breakfast was too much trouble! Great coffee, great space, great books, but disappointed by service.

We visited Hackney Coffee Co. last week for the first time with my husband, who is very much into coffee. The flat white is exceptionally good; with the bonus (for me!) of delicious cakes to choose from. Will definitely be visiting again soon!

The coffee here is delicious, lightly roasted with a nice sweet taste to it. Make sure to check out the back of the coffee shop, you will be surprised to find a spacious place with a big communal table filled with day light. Highly recommended

First time here and I can smell the good coffee at the entrance! The place is very cozy and spacious, love the vintage modern feel, all the staff were very friendly! Will definitely come back again in the future! P.S you should try their ice...

A great set up inside, lots of light with great music. My coffee was a slight let down, they had run out of filter coffee at 9am and offered no similar alternative.

This coffee shop is the cutest. Handily located, really well decorated and serves good coffee. It also offers a number of milk alternatives including bonsoy, oatly, and almond.

Fresh ground coffee as it should be, different toasties daily, and a good selection of cakes, and mustn't forget all the books upstairs that you can read, its like a library. The staff are very pleasant and make a decent coffee.

Service started out so laid back it was *almost* rude (and had me dubious about the drink I'd receive) but without any fuss I was quickly given a fantastic punchy full cup of velvet. Decor's nice and recommend the place.
