Absolutely a wonderful experience . Delicious food and excellent customer service . Ali was so kind and hospitable. I really recommend this place can’t fault it !!!

We popped in here on the off chance on Tuesday for some lunch and like always we wasn’t disappointed the food was 10/10 not only does it look amazing it tastes good too 😊 wd highly recommend but it can be busy so avoid peek times if yr pushed for time

You should retrain your waitress who greets people to smile and be welcoming instead of wearing a grumpy face. Also, not all customers come for the ‘aesthetics’ of the food, some also come to dine in a comfortable atmosphere. At £19 for a plate of breakfast customers definitely deserve better and I don’t think this place meets those basic standards.

Took the missus out here for brunch whilst she’s on maternity leave. I ordered the French meets English - my god there’s being scammed and then there’s this place - £16/17 to only receive ONE raspberry and ONE blueberry with my French toast, yes you read that correctly, ONE raspberry and ONE blueberry. I couldn’t believe it honestly, most of the food is covered by their ‘flowery decoration’ very smart strategy. the rest of the meal too was mid nothing special. Would definitely not recommend if you’re looking to get bumped, big prices small portions and you will not get bang for your buck.

Camarera (primera vez que tuve el placer de ser esperado por ella) declaró que siempre pregunta a los clientes si quieren halal. ¿Le pregunté si me preguntó? Ella se volvió conflictiva, ya que los otros clientes de mi alrededor no querían hacer de esto algo grande. Acabo de promocionarla, dices que le preguntas a TODOS tus clientes si quieren una opción halal o no pero no me preguntaste esto o si tenemos alguna alergia. Mi socio de negocios era inglés, pero prefería comer halal. Ella me cobró un costo adicional. He estado en este café muchas veces antes, pero nunca experimenté este tipo de comportamiento. Así que la lección de esta camarera, incluso si se olvida de confirmar con usted, alergia u opción halal, asegúrese de que ellos confirmen con usted en el momento del pedido, o enfrentar cargos dobles. Super great place for food, it’s delicious and each dish is well presented. The smoothies and fresh juices are amazing. The atmosphere is lively and the artwork on the walls is absolutely beautiful giving unknown up and coming artists a chance to display their work.

Stunning presentation of food as well as excellent taste. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The place gets very busy and very full which I’m not surprised about!

Ordered a kids meal from the kids menu, maybe it's just me but, the kids meal came with a runnie egg, and the sausage hand spicy seasoning on it. Not sure about any other kid 4-12 but this is a big no no for my child. I tried the sausage and it was 🌶 flacks. You Have been warned. (They did remove the cost of the kids meal)

Is it worth the hype? Yes! Food & Service was all very good and definitely worth the visit. But the only thing I hated was how cramped it is in there! Honestly they need to do a major renovation or move to a bigger place to accommodate their customers because you are literally sat next to strangers and rubbing your elbows with theirs! Sometimes you just feel a bit claustrophobic in there, other than that it was all good.

I've always been baffled by the long queue outside but now I get it - delicious food, beautifully presented in a simple, no fuss setting.

The presentation of food is top notch and the pairing for savoury and sweet breakfast is amazing. Platter is customisable to suit your appetite/taste. Value for money. I just wish they had a bigger seating area. The staff manages to pull off a great service in a tiny cafe. I keep going back 😊

Cafe East has never ever let me down. 10/10. Whether I eat in or get a takeaway, their food is always presented well with sizeable portions. Their staff are brilliant and friendly to everyone. I could eat everything on their menu. Cafe east you owe me nothing!

Absolutely incredible spot - really lovely service and a banging atmosphere. Food was delicious and really well priced, only complaint is that I genuinely couldn’t finish it all. I’d say best spot on the Roman Road Will absolutely be back!

Unfortunately very slow service even though there was many people in the kitchen and the place was half empty and the food taste has gone down in quality and prices have gone up which is such a shame as this use to be the place couple of years ago when it was hyped but now there is better cafes around that offer more for your moneys worth and with quicker service. Music was too loud could not have a conversation without raising our voices.

Incredible place to have breakfast, hidden in a little-known neighborhood, you will find the best breakfast we have had in the country. Careful, charming and busy environment. The service is attentive and fast, the food exceptional. It doesn't matter what you ask because it will be a success. Good price!!! And you will end up full!!! Don't hesitate to go!!!

Excellent quality! A couple of negative points: long wait (due to too many people) and despite the gorgeous presentation of the brunch plate, I wish the savoury and sweet dishes were separated so that I don't have to eat yolk with my pancakes...

In my opinion the best brunch place in east London, by a mile! Everything is nice, from the cosy and Londony atmosphere to the food itself, 10/10 for presentation.

Not quite sure what all the hype is about. But the food was nice and the staff were helpful. Big portions and lots of options on the menu. You do get squeezed onto some tiny tables so a bit awkward to get in and out and fit everything on.

Had an amazing experience at Cafe East as always! This is my 4th time visiting and it always gets better. The food was a delight, it looked and tasted on point - we tried the breakfast and yummy French toast 😋. The drinks were super refreshing too, we tried the fresh orange juice and the Surprise Me! smoothie. Coffee was perfect. Has to be the best breakfast around, especially for the price range! A huge thank you to Naz and the team for the amazing time 💕 Best Cafe in London!

Absolutely delicious, presentation of the food is top, so colourful, the staff and waiters are so friendly and kind. This is how you run a successful cafe. Well done guys. Will definitely recommend and will be eating here again. My new breakfast spot.

Tastes as good as it looks😍 Only downside is it’s super cramped but I guess there’s not much they can do about that.

Wooww!! Such a little gem!! Just popped in by luck and amazed by the vibe. So lively , colourful in every level. Simple table set up yet that emphasise the artistically design dishes.. loved it! Taste and feeding the eye too!' Whoever preparing the menu and delivering dishes knows that it is taste + sight make the receiver happy. Happy belly happy mood! Great combination for Saturday morning and all days!! Thanksss.

Great place. I went yesterday, there was excellent service. Just a mini queue. But I have heard there can be a long queue on weekends. But food was worth it. Even the tap water was creative :)

Food and staff is great. Could do with more space to address the queues and waiting times or adopt a booking system to avoid having people wait or create an awkward atmosphere. Especially when there are plenty of cafes now popping up who do tick those boxes and if you want to have a pleasant meal without being overstimulated.

This place was divine! Initially we planned to go elsewhere but luckily we stumbled upon Cafe East with no queue and I'm so glad we gave it a shot. The service was lovely, not overdone. The birthday song by the waiters was also enjoyable. The food came beautifully presented and my eggs were cooked just how I'd asked. Pancakes were smaller than expected but with so much fruit also on my plate, the portion was just right. I loved the hash browns and grilled halloumi and my iced coffee came with crunchy ice - yum! Would definitely recommend and revisit. Just wish there was something to dry my hands with in the toilet.

Came here on my 20th birthday, lovely and friendly staff, amazing food and drinks. They even had a little girl serving and helping which was super cute.

Megan and Betty are brilliant; so hospitable and prompt. Great chat. They do their best with the busy environment - if you want good service just be nice and they'll be nice back! Not sure why people want to complain about slow service when they're bringing bad vibes all up in here and wanna blame servers. Food was good, great big portions and I appreciate the rocket/carrot/cucumber/slice of kiwi/tiny slice of radish on the side. Really breaks up the monotony of a meaty fry up with some green fibre. Flat white was a bit burnt tasting but I wasn't mad cause it looked cute innit Now I'm so full I can't move. P.s. saw the servers elaborate on gluten free and vegan options to a table next to me and they were really happy so don't worry if you have dietary requirements.

Me ha llevado un tiempo visitar Café East, porque las reseñas en línea hablan de largas colas con las que no quería lidiar. Afortunadamente, cuando visitamos alrededor de las 10 de la mañana del viernes, encontramos el lugar para estar tranquilo sin esperar en absoluto. Para cuando nos fuimos una hora después, el lugar estaba empezando a estar un poco más ocupado. El servicio durante toda nuestra visita fue genial y la comida llegó rápidamente - otra cosa que me había preocupado después de leer las críticas. Nuestras dos comidas - la delicia vegetal y el panqueque & bayas - eran deliciosas y bien raciones y la presentación fue excepcional. La salchicha vegana me tomó por sorpresa ya que esperaba una carne de imitación. Lo que recibí en cambio puedo describirlo mejor como una mezcla de verduras fritas en forma de salchicha. Sin embargo, no hay quejas - sabía muy bien! Gran decoración y en general todo alrededor de grandes vibraciones. Puedo ver por qué este lugar es tan popular!

Despite living nearby, it's taken a while to get around to visiting Cafe East, because the reviews online talk about the queues that I didn't want to contend with. Thankfully when we visited around 10am a Friday morning, we found the place to be quiet with no wait at all. By the time we left about an hour later, the place was starting to get a little busier. Service was great and food arrived quickly - another thing I'd worried about after reading the reviews. Both of our meals - the veggie delight and the pancake & berries - were delectable and well portioned and the presentation was outstanding. The vegan sausage took me by surprise as I was expecting an imitation meat. What I received instead I can best describe as a sausage shaped fried veggie mix. No complaints though - it tasted great! Great decor and great vibes all round - I can see why it's so popular!

Overall, the place is good, and the food is tasty and presented well. It’s just cramped and not a pleasant environment when you are trying to eat - it feels like you’re sitting on top of people. We did have to queue for 15-20 minutes to get a table.

I decided to try Cafe East Bow after going past here for many years as I was in the area. I ordered a takeaway on a Saturday. However, when ordering, I heard a customer say they had a maggot in their food which could’ve been from the fruit. I continued with my order nonetheless- I was meant to have scrambled egg and this is what I received. Also, there was a hair in my food. Unfortunately, I will not visit again.

I came with 3 of my friends and we had the best time! The service was amazing, staff were so friendly and helpful without even having to ask. I would have eaten everything on the menu! When I finally did decide, the meal I ordered was delicious. It was all very reasonably priced and locally sourced. I would 100% recommend even if there’s a little queue when you arrive as it’s totally worth the wait. Thank you cafe east!

I've visited this place a few times and the food is always great. The plates look really well presented and the waffles one of the best I've had! The staff are friendly too. Sometimes there's a queue, but it's worth the wait.

Update: Food is still as great. Presentation is amazing. Ive tried so many of these types of breakfast and nothing else stands up to it. I no longer drive, easier to take public transport. Fantastic food. Looks as good as it tastes. The only negative is the parking which was a few minutes walk away as we came from Essex. It was £4.35 for 1 hour but it was worth it for the food. Excellent customer service- staff were lovely.

Couldn’t decide between 3 or 4 stars. One of the Instagram viral places, we thought we should try. The food was great but it’s not a place for those who get claustrophobic. It’s really squishy, tables and chairs are tiny and the customer service is below average. If they tell you to wait for 10mins, expect it to be 30mins. If you have halal dietary requirements, make sure you ask for it, as they provide bacon options. Ordered orange juice and two omelettes, portion size were good and priced normally.

Fabulous food and such lovely staff. The food was fresh and you could smell the fresh fruit. I had a caramel iced frap...and I kid you not! It was splendid. You should visit mid week where it is quiet. But overall 10 10 xx

Didnt wait too long to be seated, the portions were shocking, paying £14 for 2 small pancakes that are stacked on top of fruit is criminal. The kids meal was essential the same as the adults. Deffo a place people would recommend on Tiktok due to its alluring presentation. Other than that, girls serving were lovely & tunes were great!

I had been wanting to visit this place for 2 years! Finally had brunch with the girls here and it was perfect. Good vibes, good music, amazing service, good portion sized seasoned food, beautiful presentation of the dishes and reasonably priced aswell which is hard to find. Everyone was friendly from the girls serving to the kitchen staff cheffing it up. I ordered an Oreo Milkshake, not every place can get these right but THIS ONE! exceeded expectations. And it came in a takeaway cup with a lid so I could still finish my drink after we had left. Oreo Milkshake is not to be rushed, especially after a massive plate of food so I appreciate that nice touch👌🏾 I ordered the Lost in London £15.90 and it was TOP QUALITY! Beef sausage, I don't eat pork so this was important. The nicest beef sausages I've had in a long time. The beans tasted seasoned not straight from the can and the PANCAKES! banging! Fluffy and not dry. The fruits on top were ripe aswell. One thing to bear in mind, we visited on a Saturday at 13:15 (group of 3) and it was BUSY! If visiting in a couple or groups of two you may find you will be seated sooner just because the tables at the front are arranged in sets of two's. They do have 4 tables of 4 at the back which is where we were seated. The tables at the front of the Cafe are quite close together so when it's busy it can feel a little cramped. We waited about 10 minutes outside for a table as we were fist in the queue however when we left at 15:30 there was a long line of people waiting outside. This place does not take bookings so be prepared to wait during busy periods. I believe it was well worth the wait and I will definitely be coming back for more. Thank You Cafe East! You hit the spot!

2 stars is a generous review, because the food was edible and no one was ill. Portions for the price are tiny and space on the plates are filled with a bunch of excess fruit that I’m sure no one really wants. Another one of these ‘fancy pants’, overpriced cafes. Wouldn’t come again, but if that is your thing, that’s fair enough.

This is pace is simply one of the best and is the pride of East London, Roman Road. There is ALWAYS a queue around lunch time, come for breakfast or around 11:30-12pm and you’ll get lucky, any later, you’ll need to wait for at least 30 mins. But, it’s worth it.

The service here is truly outstanding, and each dish is presented with artistic flair. Portions are impressively large! I particularly enjoy the addition of fresh fruits to their English breakfast. Great coffee too! Just a heads up: be ready for a bit of a queue!

This place is so cute and cozy! I've been to quite a few brunch places but Cafe East is by far the best. You are definitely getting your money's worth here.

There is a possibility that you may have to wait for a table especially if you’re a party of more than 5. There policy is that you can’t be seated until you have arrived with your party because they’re unable to serve/take any orders until then and have stated that in the past people have complained that guests have been able to be seated without ordering anything (due to waiting on others). The seating is very tight and you will find yourself having to get up during your dining experience to help guests get to their tables. The menu has a wonderful range of breakfast, burgers, pancakes/waffles and drink options. They have both veggie and halal alternatives. The food was AMAZING and presented beautifully. Note: bring cash as they seem to prefer this payment option more but you can pay by card. If you do that, they don’t provide the option to split the bill, which is a little annoying. Overall, a really nice dining experience but I hope they soon expand as it is somewhat a journey if you’re coming from South London (Streatham)
