One of my favorite places in the area - has such a great vibe and super friendly. The food is delicious too! It feels authentic and somehow romantic for its simplicity. A neighbourhood gem!

Extremely disrespectful staff. I have never felt so uncomfortable at a restaurant. Staff would not allow my partner who has a broken leg sit at one of their many empty tables while we waited for our food. When he no longer could stand due to the wait, we were then harassed by 3 different wait staff for taking up their seats despite being paying customers. We were also publicly shamed for not purchasing more food than we wanted in which other customers had to come to our defense.

The most wonderful of affairs to be had. Not only was the food 5 star and made with love but the service and genuine care everyone put into our whole experience was one for the books! The wine was great, I’d recommend the sardines on toast and bifana! The cute outside garden space makes you feel like you’re in Portugal and is excellent for cosy nights sipping vinho and eating authentic grub.

This small cafe is run by a warm and friendly proprietor and staff and is open daily. There is a menu of hot and cold Portuguese cuisine and plus alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, including Portuguese beer and wine. Seating is inside only only and there is a unisex toilet down a couple of steps at the back of the premises. It is reassuringly popular the with Portuguese speaking community. There is also Portugues kitchenware and grocery for sale. The background music is relaxing and not intrusive. There re a couple of steps up to front door, making the cafe inaccessable for some. It is on bus routes 26 and 55. I always look forward to paying a visit if nearby.

I don't even normally like sweet things, but I had a custard tart from here and it was literally a life changing experience, and I say that completely seriously. It was a food moment that I won't forget and every custard tart I eat from now will be compared to that one. I also had some beef croquettes that were very nice, but seriously, go eat the custard tarts and then tell all your friends about it.

Portuguese Love Affair is a delightful little cafe and deli just opposite Hackney City Farm. It is like stepping into Portugal but in the heart of London, with earthy and mouth watering food and beautiful coffee. It definitely has the best Pasteis de Nata in London Town but does swallow quite a few pennies in the process. The atmosphere is warming and lovely, perfic spot to go with a partner or close friend. I would recommend booking and requesting to be nearer the back of the cafe. On my last trip we ended up sat on the little two seater table in front of the deli/till counter. We both felt quite interrupted as people were reaching and talking over the table to order food and look at the days scrumptious goods. Their staff have a beautiful manner and Olga kindly reserved a couple of bits for me to collect for my partners Birthday a few weeks ago. I would highly recommend this gem of a cafe but one to avoid if you need wheelchair access or struggle with steps. It is certainly a place I would love to return to as it so local and a blessing to have in the community but maybe a drop of oil to their front door will help me re-enter next time!

Stumbled on this lovely little cafe on a walk around Hackney and had originally planned to grab a couple of Pasteis de Nata to take home. It almost looked to be closed from the outside as the windows were steamed up, but once inside we decided to stay and eat our lovely tarts with a coffee. Staff were friendly and coffee was good. It's a bit cramped inside (maybe letting in pushchairs from a large table in the corner wasn't a great idea), but overall this is a lovely spot to have a coffee and cake. The Portuguese tarts were moist with proper burnt bits on top. Lovely.

The pasteis de nata are the real deal here. Not cheap at £2.50 each, but worth it for the authentic flavor and quality.

My partner and I visited this lovely cafe for the second time yesterday after a stroll through Columbia Flower Market. The food is very simple but delicious and authentically Portuguese in every way! The charcuterie/cheese boards are a highlight and excellent value with a selection of 2 meats and 2 cheeses costing only £10. Add a glass of Vino Verde each and you have a idyllic taste of Portugal in the heart of London!

If you wanna spend a day in Portugal without leaving the UK go to this lovely little wine bar/ restaurant (especially since travelling to Europe can get a little difficult after Brexit)! Laid back staff, handpicked wines and amazing food can be found here. My tip: Spend a Saturday in the backyard with bbq and vino verde.

Rude two ladies talk between them in Portuguese saying I should wait and kept on ignoring me for some time. When I asked why I had to wait I was told they had looots of customers at the back and had no time for the people at the till. I love Portuguese food, live nearby but would rather go 10 miles away than going back to this place.

I have to declare an interest; I've known Dina and Olga for years and they used to be my lodgers. But whenever I visited them in my house which they were looking after so well I always got the warmest welcome, a big hug and slice of grandma's cheese. When they opened a cafe it just made perfect sense. Now everyone gets a big hug and a slice of grandma's cheese, and the best Pastel de nata in London, and ham and cake and whatever other tasty they've made that day.

Amazing little spot. It's a tiny cozy place which serves typical Portuguese products as cheese, croquettes and charcuterie. The staff is very friendly and the selection of wine and beer is surprising. Cherry on top, the prices are amazingly low, you really feel like you entered Portugal! They also have a shop-deli which sell the products and other pretty things like the stunning ceramic they serve their food on. Awesome!

If you like sport, this is the place for you!! Three dartboards, four pool tables, great reasonable food, good bar service. Went to a finals night there, perfect Venue for this event. Well organised and supported by the bar… I would say ideal for a team bonding session etc..TV’s showing every sport known to man..Don’t miss out

very conveniently located but I would 10000% recommend crossing over the road and going to Jolene's. Don't go near the mochas here unless you like 4 sugars in your coffee to mask the horrendous bitterness. service is alright but its clear that they hope the coffee 'speaks for itself' and at £4.40 for a small takeaway cup I am not happy
