Honestly such a gem! A lovely, independent neighbourhood pub. They do have different events going on (Pub Quiz on Wednesday for example) but not too much, so you will also be able to go and just catch up with friends or watch sports. The pizza here is really good and the staff is super friendly!

🚇 Mile End 🍺 £7.00 Cruzcampo The Lord Morpeth is nestled on Old Ford Road, just a stones throw away from Victoria Park in Bow, East London. This pub was established in 1848 and is named after George William Frederick Howard, 7th Earl of Carlisle, Lord Morpeth. On the side of the pub is a giant mural of Sylvia Pankhurst. She was a leading figure in the Suffragette movement who campaigned for the right for women to vote. Sylvia lived in the house next to the pub between 1914 to 1924. This is a good sized one bar pub that has a stylish contemporary feel. At the heart of the pub is an Island servery which is clad in raised and fielded panels. To the left of the servery is a Dartboard, a couple of poser tables and a lovely old Joanna. In front of the servery are some low level tables and chairs, to the right is an ornate fireplace and two comfy leather sofas. At the back of the bar is a snug area with a padded leather banquette. The decor consists of a wood and tiled floor, exposed brick and green walls and a 1930’s Vitrolite ceiling. The beer selection offers a range of well known familiar keg brands. I decided on a Cruzcampo, my pint hit the spot, price point was a bit punchy. The food option here is pizza, there are 13 pizzas to choose from, costing between £12 to £15. I arrived just before 1pm on a chilly Saturday lunchtime in February. The pub had about half a dozen punters in watching the Leicester v Arsenal match. The atmosphere was laidback, so settling in was very easy. Soon after the match started, a group of West Ham lads popped in for a few pre match pints. The service was excellent, I was served by an upbeat member of the team who was warm and welcoming. Loads of positives to take away from my visit to The @lord_morpeth .I love the exterior of the pub with the original brown tiling and the wonderful mural of one of Britain’s historical figures. The decor made for an inviting place to spend time in, the beer and pizza choice will please the masses. This pub is a real gem, with great pizza, friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Have popped in for a pint quite a few times and always had a great experience

Trash. Absolute trash. Probably the worst pub I've ever been to. There's a darts board on the wall for "ambiance". No vibe. Next to housing estates and full of yuppies. Pizza does look legit, didn't try it

The place is one of the most chilled bars that I have ever been to. Went there to get out of the rain, landed up going back two days later because I liked the place. Definitely recommending it.

Only one real ale and virtually empty when I visited albeit on a Sunday evening between New year and Christmas so naturally not many people were about Has a modern appearance and seemed like a good pub I only had time for a quick pint and didn’t eat although the pizza’s being eaten by a couple smelt appealing Worth a visit now many pubs in the Eastend have a vibe about them and aren’t full of “geezers” who won’t accept liberties

Ironic this pub has a suffragette on its walls. I used to love this place but left today feeling disrespected by the male clientele and male bartender. Apparently a woman who wants to watch sports in a pub that only caters to men will eventually be peer pressured into leaving.

This has been a local pub we've been visiting on and off for a few years. Mainly for the pizzas. The pub is now under new owners and management (sometime earlier in 2024 this changed) Whilst I am very glad the pub remains open and they have kept the same decor, which is a cool look. I ahve to say the quality of the pizzas has changed for the worse. The base does not seem to be as fresh and the cheese seems to be on a diet as its hard to find on the pizza topping. The kitchen seemed to only be able to bake on pizza at a time and meant our table of hungry drinkers had to wait a long time for the last pizza to be served. On the positive, the bar staff are as friendly as ever and they now have tuna pizza option. I hope the kitchen improves on the overall pizza experience. We will try one more time and if its a fail we won't be coming back any time soon.

Great little local with fabulous pizza and wine offerings. Dart board in the corner too!

Beer good, pizzas great, only downside was we went in to eat drink and plays darts but the throw and board for the darts were pretty poor.

We book a table for 10 people on Christmas Eve 2023. We had an amazing time meeting up with our family the atmosphere, the food, the service, the bar staff was amazing,, we had family over from Australia and they said they were the best pizzas that they have had in ages and would definitely be coming back and the bonus was having to be able to bring our small puppy with us. Great spot and the pizza was excellent. Despite the super friendly staff I knocked a star off because I think they lost our order and it took a very long time to get our pizza. Kid friendly too.

Decent gaff with good vibes, very good healthy pizza options with fantastic music selections which you rarely get for an east London pub. Big up ‘DJ Bartender’ proper created a good vibe for our team Xmas party.

Always quiet when I go there. It’s very nice to enjoy the silence and have a cosy pint. This pub gives really good vibes and it’s a hidden gem that can become very popular in the neighbourhood

Nice local pub, but prices high, they've jumped on the fact that big money house owners in the local area are now using the pub on a regular basis, 'greedflation', very much like what the Crown pub just down the road did more than a few years ago. Nice atmosphere, but had two very expensive drinks each, example £7 for a Jack Daniels & coke (single) then went on our way, never to return...

I had a great time at this pub on a Friday night. The atmosphere was really nice, and the tunes were on point. The cosy decor added to the charm. It was fairly busy, but not overwhelmingly loud and raucous, which was a pleasant surprise. While the drinks weren't the cheapest, they were probably average for the area. Overall, I'd say it's definitely worth a visit!

I had such a fantastic experience at the pub! The atmosphere was lively and inviting, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The pizza was absolutely delicious. I especially loved the fungi pizza. Overall, a top-notch establishment that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for drinking beer and good cocktails.

This is is the middle pub of three that sit on Old Ford Road. As you approach it gives the appearance of a traditional brick-built estate pub, especially at night with the lights from the tower blocks behind framing the vista. However, as you draw closer the high wall mounted neon saloon sign advertising sourdough pizza gives a clue to what lies inside.
Internally its nowadays far from a traditional pub and internally is very stripped out, with a bare floor and mostly walls of bare brick, with some floral wallpaper and very distressed paintwork to the windows, and the analogy to a well stripped out neon hipster joint I saw on another review site is fairly accurate with the additional description of a sourdough pizza oven providing the food menu. 
The main interest on the beer front was some modern craft keg beers, but the bar does have a couple of ale pumps and one of these was in use with Wild Card Brewery Best, which I went for. A fairly average bitter but I think this was more to do with the beer than the pub. The standout feature of this pub for me was actually outside in the form of the excellent Votes for Women mural that fills the entire West wall of the exterior.
So, all things for all in this short stretch of the Old Ford Road. If you want a decent ale in an old school traditional pub then look no further than the Eleanor Arms. If you want decent food in smart surroundings then you should carry on to The Crown. And if you are under 30, you may like this one. I’m not by a long chalk and I didn’t.

Great place. Loved the playlist and decor. Lots of options on tap and Friendly staff. Really looking forward to their Wednesday pub quiz they say they have a £50 prize for the winning team. Planning to attend soon.

Been coming here for a couple of years now and it's one of my favourite pubs in London. Mine and my gfs number 1 local pub. Great pizza, good vibes with a nice mix of people. Prices more than fair, music always suits the mood and staff are always pleasant.

On football days there's a v roudy rude set of 5-6 men who ruin it for everyone else, I'd reccomend staff have a word with them or chuck them out...then they'll learn their lesson for next time :) and the pub will continue to have punters. Pizzas are good

Thank you so much for playing football Friday night! My brother is local with his known dog Lupi and that’s another reason why we choose this pub to watch the world cup: friendly people, good beer and great pizzas! Brazil lost the match but we had a great time! Thanks again to the staff who were there during this shift. Customers do appreciate those little things!

If you're planning to have a nice chat with your friends this is definitely not your place. We ask several times to put the volume of the music down and it was like talking to a wall. Never coming back here.

Serving booze since 1840s. So authentic! 😍 just learned that it was once a meeting place of activist women. A leading suffragette Sylvia Pankhurst had actually lived in the house next door. A giant mural of her has been painted onto the side of this pub. Loved it!

🍺😁 🍕☹️ Pizza here is great. Though not quite as great as it was many years ago when it very first opened. Fun place though with always lovely staff and a nice selection of beers. There isn't a huge amount of seating, so get here early (or reserve a table) if you're planning on visiting in peak times.

Not sure what has happened to this pub but awful food and service. Bar staff have as much energy as a wet dish cloth. Arrived on a Saturday around 13:30 and already no toilet paper in the toilet and hand drier not working. Food came half cooked and half the amount of expected topping. Not worth the money. Clearly a pub trying to cut corners and on it’s last legs. Would be a good date place if the food was better or a sports bar with better/more screens. Currently trying to decide what it is and who it’s for. Could be a great venue for live bands but no vision. Board outside says football, rugby and pizza. But no football and rugby had to be requested. Avoid unless you can’t be bothered to walk to the other great pubs in the area.

I live near this pub and its always been a fantastic pub. But lately there has been a group of lads in the pub and hanging outside the pub taking drugs being very loud and intimidating and causing alot of anti social behaviour. I have emailed the pub and have not had any response!!! Low and behold they are at the pub again tonight and it seems as though the owners/bartenders are doing nothing about it.

I ordered the snowball Cocktail from Christmas menu amd it was fair but I felt like the bartender wasn't experienced

Used to be my local and favourite pub in London. Still alright, but lost its charm recently.

Used to love this pub and last review was 5star but gone massively downhill. Guy behind the bar couldn’t have been more rude. We didn’t bother ordering a drink as he was such a pig. Left never to return.

Another customer there had said 'best pizza I've ever had'. I can confirm she was not wrong. I got the mama mia and finished it off in no time. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and all together it was a really enjoyable experience. Will definitely be coming back!
