It is a restaurant with quite a good selection of Korean food. Mine was delicious, I had the luch special menu and a green tea cup. The chairs were a little worn.

Incredible lovely ladies who helped me throughout my time, but of course, I was extremely starving plus super happy with Korean food served, including Soju, which is South Koreas Traditional National Alcohol 😋

If you're reading this, steer clear of this place! My friend and I went there yesterday. We had to chase down the waitstaff just to order. Even for utensils, we had to call them over. The hot pot only got started after we called for service three times. Throughout the whole visit, there was zero sense of service. Even worse, the chicken wings we got were bloody, scarce in meat, and tasted awful! We confronted the owner, who merely said that the hot pot needed more time to cook, but no staff had informed us beforehand. The owner just rolled their eyes and walked away without a single apology. At checkout, they only waived the service fee because we insisted!

Big thunder! You can totally skip this one, the spicy beef soup has no ingredients at all!

Although the food tastes good, the service here is terrible, they were charging 50P for frigging hot water. I mean who charges for hot drinking water in a cold city 🥲. One of the korean staff woman was so rude, she didn't care what we wanted. Just keep saying sorry can't do it.

This restaurant is not authentic at all! Food is expensive and disgusting. The fried chicken had been out for a long time and then served. The beef soup only had 5 small slices of beef. A bowl of rice costs 4.5 pounds. I would say the chef may learn how to cook by watching YouTube videos.

I was ordered a Ramen and Bap. One of staff member was so rude. she even didn’t look at me and just gesture to another person(to get order from me). I am so angry from her but i was so hungry So i decide to stay. But i will never recommend this restaurant. Do not go this place

My wife and daughter and I decided to try this place for a change in cuisine. We were shown to a table prompty, and then forgotten about. People who came in after us were given menus, ordered and even started eating before we were seen to. After 15mins I was ready to just get up and walk out but my family really wanted to try the food. After 35mins of entering WE had to ASK for a menu. We were then forgotten about again. Having to wave for attention so we could order. Food and drinks were served without a smile or a word spoken to us or eye contact made. The food itself was very nice. Although my daughters Udon and prawns had a total of... 2 prawns in it. Price-wise it's ok. The restauraunt itself is rather poorly decorated and there was a constant draft coming from upstairs. We ended up putting our coats back on as we were eating as we were, literally, shivering. When it came to paying the bill we, again, had to attract the attention of the serving staff who were standing around talking and showing eachother things on their phones. Would I return? No way. Would I recommend? Absolutely not.

If I could score minus, I would have! Over priced, dry, no taste! Service charge of £6.70 she brought drink and all courses together! Horrendous meal for the token price £75! 2 starters, mains and one rice!!

Save your money for a trip to Korea instead. We ordered the BBQ set. Although the meat portions were big, it wasn’t fresh. Dosed with cornflour and favour to disguise the stale meat. Also, the heating was either off or ‘energy efficient’.

Never really eaten Korean before. The menu was a mine field didn't recognise much, the waitress helped us to select something. What we had was extremely tasty if not a little on the expensive side for a lunch, however we enjoyed it but may not be my first choice in future. Service charge was added too?

Ordered Kimchi soup myself and my partner had beef kimchi fried rice. Both meals were really tasty and authentic. The fried rice is a huge portion so good for value. Kimchi soup was really good but slightly smaller in quantity but I ended up full anyway. The staff looked like they’re having a good time so good vibes. It was busy and most guests were having BBQ. Gonna come back and try the BBQ soon.

Ordered the BBQ set meal, 42 pounds, but it was completely synthetic meat, and some low quality meat. This was the first time I had synthetic meat in the UK.

Such a shame food was good but let down badly by service. Booked online and received an email confirming reservation. When we arrived they didnt know we were coming. Had to move tables just before food arrived. Had to ask to order. For anyone with food alergies dont bother. They do not cater for even basic gluten free or celiac needs, waitress response was a very easy no. Half way through meal asked for two more cokes and a lemonade. Had to ask three times and even pointed to glasses. Received one pint of lager???? This is what happens when you add on a compulsory service charge, staff are going to get tip regardless if they provide a good service or not. Very sad for a place with so much potential.

Don’t bother visiting if not doing BBQ. We came here, didn’t have a reservation - downstairs tables were all full (BBQ) but we wanted food so got sat upstairs (nonBBQ a la carte), which we were fine with. Food was cold and massively overpriced!! A dish of bean sprouts for £3.50 which was basically a small handful sprouts from a bag. Would not recommend unless BBQ’ing which I’m sure would be tastier. The steak tartare was still frozen and we defrosted it at the table. Compulsory 10% service charge for them to just bring food to your table. Avoid. Paid £66 for a very average cold, tasteless meal.

實在太想念韓國菜了，所以來這裡食lunch。牛肉片lunch set 不錯，牛肉片用韓國醬料醃製了好味，有不少配料，不過麵豉湯太鹹了。另外點了辣豆腐湯，豆腐好滑，不過我嫌不夠辣。反而另外點的辣魷魚小菜好好食，夠惹味，魷魚也嫩滑。

Absolutely beautiful food and lovely atmosphere. Servers were fab, although there was a slight language barrier but I'd absolutely revisit in a heartbeat.

Me and my girlfriend we've been coming to this place quite often , I'd like to say that the food is absolutely delicious no complaints about the quality of the food ! the only complaint i have is for the person who manages this place as of what I'm aware the staff get no tips ! And I wanna say that the staff in this place delived formidable service compared to other restaurants on Bold street , GIVE THE TIPS TO YOUR STAFF !!! Ordered Bibimbap with chicken and the ingredients was chocking, 90% rice and a few pieces of chicken and veggies.

Excellent food, we had one of the BBQ set menus with delicious soups and accompaniments. Lovely staff who were very kind and great atmosphere. Perfect venue for birthday celebration.

Absolutely authentic - the lack of service is made up by the quality of the food. The kimchi fried rice was top tier, and the BBQ meats were lightly seasoned to bring out the natural taste of these meats. The price is justified by location and quality - would definitely recommend!

这家韩国烤肉的火非常小（烤炉的天然气不够了）但是店员却不会处理，导致肉无法很好的烤熟，价格也很贵，两个人吃了100英镑的食物勉强吃饱。

Loved it. First time korean barbeque and it was a success! My husband still talks about wanting more spare ribs:) Only wished the service didn't jump on you, asking if you're ready to order, so fast and so often.

Decent but still has room for improvement

We went here for our anniversary, we've never been to a Korean BBQ place before. I have to say this might've been one of the best meals of my life, seriously. I'd highly recommend the ribs, teriyaki chicken and the meat platter that you cook yourself at the table. The staff were friendly, the prices are a little high but you pay the extra for GOOD FOOD, it's worth every penny. Would love to go back, those BBQ ribs are calling my name.

It is a lovely place! I go here alot with my friends and it's always lovely :) The staff are so friendly and I absolutely adore 57, the pork is so delicious! Definitely recomend!

If there is a minus star I would choose it as review of my experience. I have passed the restaurant a few times until I decided to try with my friend although we were aware of the review which was only 3.5 stars on google. We thought maybe it’s not that bad or we would be lucky. The food taste was not bad, but the service was not good at all. Especially one of the waitress, she was very rude. The worst part was i felt a sharp pain in my throat when I was chewing a meat in the middle of the dinner. I managed to take it out and found it was a metal strand which was like a part of a metallic scrubbing brush. As the picture attached here shown. We were told there was no manager neither the owner was available. We still paid with 20% discount after I asked for any discounts for this kind of situation. Probably we shouldn’t have paid. Anyone, whoever still want to eat there, be careful and watch out the food.

I like Korean food but this restaurant was a little subpar for my taste. I would try a different place the next time.

First time here ….food was prepared and served well…I enjoyed the bbq set tasting menu and the novelty of cooking in front of my …we all love a bbq…..prices are as expected for a city centre and bold street so all in all I had a great time and would recommend 👍

Food are yummy we had the barbecue and the meat are all marinated well...seafood pancake is really yummy too.

Not a pleasant experience. Food was ok but the price was overcharged . Service was bad as they don’t do any help for the customers have zero experience with making their own Korean BBQ. My friend even spitted out this unpleasant mysterious metal wire when she was having the food ?? not sure is it from the lettuces or the meat?? We did complain and asked for the manager , got a response saying “ we don’t have a manager here”. Won’t come back again It’s our fault not taking the reviews seriously on here before we came here.

Food was great, best meal we had in our long weekend in Liverpool. We had the table bbq and the food was excellent. Service a little off, not particularly helpful if you didn’t know your way around a Korean menu, but overall really enjoyed it. Much much better than the chain Asian restaurants around the area.

Really authentic tasting Koran food. Service was fast and friendly. Prices are average.. but not too expensive. They also have Korean bbq options on the menu where you can cook the meat and veggies directly on the table which is quite fun. The atmosphere is quite nice.

speaking as someone who used to live in Korea, the food here is pretty good. Nice and authentic. The problem is with the staff...they didn't seem to understand their menu or even be able to read it. The waiter also served my food at the opposite end of the table (I was alone on a four-seater) which was weird. if you want to try authentic korean food then its worth it but the staff weren't up to much..

김치 제육볶음을 시켰는데 김치만 있더라고요? 그래서 말씀드렸더니 다시 해주시긴 했는데 그래도 고기는 거의 없었고 매우 달았어요. 그리고 김치 제육볶음에는 공깃밥이 나오지 않았어요. 우거지 갈비탕에는 국물 맛은 괜찮았고 고기가 좀 들어있었지만 우거지가 거의 없었어요 그리고 콩나물 대는 없었는데 대가리는 많이 있더라고요?? 낙지볶음은 밥은 많았는데 낙지볶음의 양이 매우 적었어요 외국인들한테 한식을 잘못 알려주는 거 같아서 아쉽네요 그리고 서비스 차지가 추가되어서 결제되었어요

Food is good. We had Korean BBQ. Price worth it. Staff can be more accomodating and helpful. Toilet needs to maintain cleanliness.

My family and I are big fans of Korean food so we brought our kids today here for a treat. My husband and I ordered a Korean bbq set which is £27 per person, my kids ordered fried chicken and pork chop. I was aghast when I asked for the bill and saw that for the bbq set which consisted of 8 small slices of pork belly, marinated chicken pieces decent enough for one person, 5 small side dishes and soup I was charged £55. I was so disappointed! They will require for two persons to avail their bbq set meals and will only serve a portion of the protein/meats good for a single person. We were never told after we made our orders about this! Total rip off and the lady who were serving us that day just didnt care and was just after my payment! Dont dine here if you dont want overpriced food!

When asked for a table, staff just pointed to a table, then we waited 30-40mins to place an order.. No one came to take our order, when I went to ask a staff at the counter, she just put up her hands up n kept on talking on the phone.. Not a single words, just hands gesture.

Great ambience. When we entered, it was empty. But within minutes the place had a vibe. The food was delicious. We tried their spicy soup which was the start dish in appetisers. The seafood crepe and chicken dumplings were just delicious. We went for 3 mains after all these appetisers, and their portions were huge. Not a big fan of their kimchi rice though- very bland for my palate. Language barrier can be a slight issue, but they try their best with their service.

Not for vegetarians We went there for a quick bite, I ordered the fried kimchi with rice, chicken and egg, whilst my friend ordered the kimchi ramen. The male server was pleasant, but a female server was quite cold and when asked for some cutlery. She seemed annoyed and abruptly placed it on the table. The reason for this review in particular is that my friend, a vegetarian ordered a vegetarian dish and found meat in the ramen. We spoke to the restaurant about this and they merely said the food gets mixed up, with no offer of compensation. I do not recommend this restaurant to vegetarians!

Absolutely awesome food. Both my partner and I have never had Korean food before and it was a great experience. Definitely come back for more. The service is very bland though, no smiles, no conversation and feels like she doesn't want to be there at all.

Don't waste your money. Terrible food, no atmosphere, and very cold service. If I had the option to select 0 stars, I would have selected it. Even 1 star is too much.

Food was good, tasty bbq (although you have to do it yourself, duh). Could do with a better service, we felt a bit abandoned. Delicious banana drink! Will we be back? Hm, maybe.

Good food but overpriced for the set barbecue menu.

Visit to ban de bui was ok, 4 of us visited here with a small child. Food was tasty and hot but there, was no atmosphere. We ordered a main each and some meats to cook on the grill, it was our first time and we were not shown how to use the grill and had to figure it out for ourselves as the staff were rarely seen. And when there were they were not very warming or hospitable. Very expensive for what it is not sure I would go again.

The service is not good. One of the waitress is very unfriendly to us.

This place is amazing. Food incredibly good. I will definitely take my friends next time. Their Menu offers plenty delicious dishes and the barbecue experience...wow. Words can't describe how good it is.

Food was very good, but I didn't appreciate the lack of interest showed by the waitress who assumed we knew how to prepare and eat the raw food we were served. Would have been nice if she was a little bit more attentive to (obvious) first time customers.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant in Liverpool, I have been here before a few years ago but it was never this bad. Me and my boyfriend went in and shown to table and we’re waiting for someone to take our orders, we saw someone else get table service but nobody was coming to us, when the waitress came over to us I apologised as I didn’t know if we needed to go up to order or not just to be met with a blank stare and no reply, we both ordered our food, I both pointed at what I was ordering and tried to pronounce the dish name but when the order turned up it was wrong, I told the waitress she said “no it’s right, you pointed at this” and pointed at a complete random dish that I did not at all order, noodle bowl and rice are different things obviously, so she sent the manager over and she took the plate away, I apologised to her but was just given a look as if I was being difficult. The noodle bowl arrived about 3 mins later, it had 2 prawns and 2 mussels in and the rest was just liquid with about 10 udon noodles in, not spicy at all like advertised, nobody came over to ask how food was and the waitress that took the wrong order kept glancing at us around the corner where the bar was (as if things weren’t awkward as it is) then when my other half went to go pay at the til (other people could pay at their table but not us apparently) the manager rolled her eyes when he was putting his card in to pay. Despite this when we stood up to leave we both said thank you to the manager and waitress that were both standing at the bar and they both just stared at us and didn’t say a word. Didn’t realise we were eating at Karen’s Diner. Avoid if you want a pleasant experience somewhere.

Food is OK, I've had authentic Korean food, this isn't the place. This restaurant tries to get as close to authentic as much as it could, if not for the extortionate prices and small quantity meal, it's passable. This place is around more for the hype around Korean dishes. There are better places to try at better prices though; however, if you're in Liverpool city center, there's not much choices between this and the other Korean restaurants (except try Chop Chop and perhaps Kokoro, both places owned by Koreans - they also dabble in the kitchen once in a while. These places can get as close to pretty authentic dishes!). I also recommend having your "samgyopsal" at home though, create your own atmosphere and eat as much as you can without being robbed whilst your eyes are open! This place is too expensive, some of the waiters pick on who to serve properly too, and food quantity is soo small! Not worth it!

The atmosphere was calm and friendly. The hotpot was placed on a gas ring in middle of the table with a chimney above to extract the steam. The noodles, mushrooms, meat and tofu cooked within the hotpot as we ate it. It was our first time and will return.

The food arrived stone cold and when I told the waitress she seemed angry that I complained and then put it in the microwave which made the rice hard and sticky, terrible food quality and service that left me extremely disappointed

Ordered the Bento box. Good value lovely assorted box including pork belly rice kimchi pancake and salad. Great lunchtime offer.

Went on Valentine's day for a friend's birthday. Booked for 6.45pm (latest available time) and arrived promptly yet was not acknowledged until over half an hour later due to about 20 other people with a reservation for the same time. I understand it was busy but why have a booking system if it is not followed and there is no limit to number of bookings per time slot? Only one til on the entire place that was used to tick off bookings, place orders and pay for bills So massive crowds around the door. Order taken fairly quickly by one of the FOUR staff members working in the entire place however had to wait 45 minutes just for drinks. A range of opinions on food ranging from Excellent to poor depending on the dish then had the cheek of adding a 10% service charge on top of the too high prices. Will not be returning :(

Second time in this place. I thought at first it was just my imagination that first time but nope. Staff was angry when we asked them how to turn on the fire in our barbecue cooking area in our table that first time. Second time was worse. Wait staff is absolutely bad. Food was great. But we had the meat barbecue set and they arrived already cooked when we didnt say to have it cooked. It was supposed to be a part of the experience. The cooking in the table. When our order arrived i noticed an additional dish that we didnt order so i told the waitstaff and she came over looked, took it with no thank you or apology for the mistake. I thought i was doing her a favor as she might be paying for it coz its not on our order. We ordered additional rice and the staff, smallest girl, actually (with all 4 of us looking) ROLLED HER EYES and turned her back on us. After 15 minutes we called another wait staff and ordered the addtl rice, she came back asap with the rice. Which means rice is very easy to order that first wait staff was just rude. We wanted to order additional stuff like more drinks but we decided to get away from all that attitude. You wont ever get smiles in that place. You'll feel like they cant wait to get you out of that place. Too bad, i loved the food though. Just didnt enjoy it with the drama. Left still feeling hungry.

Lots of negative reviews are out there about this place, I think mostly before the service isn’t seen as great. The staff arnt rude but they are typically quite shy. The food is outstanding - whether that’s the BBQ that you get yourself (the set platter is best value) or off the main menu like the rice and noodle soups. We have been here several times now and it’s our favourite please in Liverpool

Most authentic Korean food I've had outside of Korea. Reduced chilli for the UK market mind. Sides are extra ( unlike in Seoul) but a kimchee mix and a namul mix fills the table.

First time out with the family on Bold Street. Came across this place and decided to pop in. Great food, great service and full of atmosphere. Reasonably priced too.

The food was terrible, especially the Bibimbap, the rice at the bottom of the stone bowl was hard, service was so bad, food was pricy. Another thing I want to complain was the environment was dreadful.

Giving this restaurant 1 star is way too generous. The customer service is zero, i got a feeling they really hate all the customers. Not a single word of hello or bye. I thought i was in a funeral parlour as all the staffs were so miserable. The oriental waitress clicked her finger in a gesture to give back the menu once i finished my order. I couldn't believe my eyes. How rude can it be. They treated us as if we went there for free food. Even slapping 10% service charge on top.The food was below average . I am telling myself that i would never set foot in that place ever again. We eat out 2 or 3 times a week in the last 3 years and never came across such a dreadful place like this. Honestly , if you want to be treated in the most despicable manner by owner and staff this will be the place...

Most meats are nice. Beef tongue is nice. The beef meat can be a bit chewy. Sauces (gochujang?) are nice and spicy. As with marinated meats, they taste great but as you cook them, a lot of moisture comes out so make sure you spread them out, flatten them and cook them a little longer. Pork belly was also okay nothing special. Service is good as they helped us to get a new grill plate when there was too much char after cooking the meats. Tables for six people are somewhat quite small so make sure you only allow room for the food. Can be claustrophobic... Darker atmosphere as you go further in the building so it can be hard to read. Bit of the salad was a bit dirty/wilted but just rip them off and they are fine. Dolsot bimbimbap was nice as the rice had a nice crispy texture to it. Must eat it with the seasoned meat as it may be bland. Seafood udon noodles had a nice texture and sauce according to friends. I thought it was okay but I didn't have much of it.

Three of us went for an early-ish dinner on a Saturday night. The staff were fine but a little underwhelming but the food and the experience was great!!!! We had a selection of different meats on the BBQ. It was tasty, fun and a great way to spend a couple of hours.

I love Korean bbq and this place is definitely good for sure. I would definitely go again however there is a few things they need to do to make it perfect. They aren't the friendliest waitstaff and one (possibly more) of the table cookers are broken, which takes away from the experience of Korean bbq. However the food there is delicious and would definitely recommend. The bulgogi is great!

Lovely, flavourful food and decent portions. However, staff were not very welcoming, or personable. Not any hellos or how are you’s when we came in. Despite our politeness they didn’t really say much, including not saying what dish was which when it came to the table. We were not greeted well nor spoken to when we left. The cherry on top was the 10% (£8) service charge at the end
