Awesome ice cream , the £4 , three scoops with flake is truly delicious. Try the blackberry crumble , it’s fantastic. Great staff and spotless . What’s not to like .

Stopped here for an ice-cream. I had a Biscoff Sundae really nice, delicious. Good choice of flavours and cones.Friendly and quick service. Very popular place . Situated on the main road. If you can find a space you can park outside alternatively there is a large car park nearby. If you like ice-cream as I do you then come here.

We stayed nearby for 3 night and saw many people giving these ice creams a try so we did too. Tried numerous flavours and loved them all especially the Limoncello and also the bubble-gum . Chocolate cones fresh and delicious . Will recommend to others

It was our elevens drink and we had share buns they were very nice and light but very tasty, when we are at the east coast i love to come here as next door are the best cakes ever my favourite is batten berg cake, been coming here 30 years with my wife and we all ways buy a batten berg cake.On getting home and tasting the cake the marzipan does not taste the same wonder if youve changed the recipe?Still nice. Wife bought 2 x scones.

Third visit to Baldersons in Thornton le Dale. My previous favourite ice cream (New York cheesecake) was not on the menu so I went for blackberry crumble which was delicious and a scoop of chocolate…equally delicious.They should sell them by the container, I’d be there every week!PS your website doesn’t work

Long queue but worth it I had vanilla my wife had caramel plenty of choice comes wafers tubs thousand islands flakes

This tea shop is set in the most beautiful chocolate box village. My husband and I had such great service first time round we purposely went out of our way to call again.I am gluten intolerant, my needs were totally catered for on both occasions, they do de caf coffee too, a bonus. The young man serving on was polite and cheerful, the man making the sandwich for me which came with crisps salad and Coleslaw, came out with the bag of crisps to make sure I was OK to eat them.. What fantastic customer care that is. The tables are in a sunny position, and are cleaned immediately after people leave. I definatly recommend this wonderful little Gem of a place to stop for a bite to eat.

The best ice cream I think I have ever had. The amaretto cherry was WOW and the raspberry ripple was unbelievably tasty. As one other reviewer wrote, the queue says it all!

Hard to resist when the sun is shining, so we didn't try. Three flavours for £4 and a free flake. Delicious!

Just finished my triple ice cream in a tub. It was delicious! No need for a dinner tonight... The queue outside was long but moved very quickly. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go again!

Passing through with the family and stopped for lunch. A great selection and excellent service, a nice friendly place. Tea, coffee, soft drinks, sandwiches, pie and chips were all enjoyed.

Stopped off here to get an ice cream, loads of different flavours. Great if you love ice cream. Both soft whipped ice cream and traditional scoop ice creams.

We go here a lot in summer the best ice cream. Worth the ten mile trip to enjoy Thornton-le-Dale and a lovely ice cream.

What can you say. Ice cream selection heaven. Nice little place that should not be passed by. Unfortunately can only eat one at a time.

Called at Balderson’s in Thornton-le-Dale for an ice cream pit stop on a drive out with my Mum & Grandma. I had the Nea York cheesecake flavour and white chocolate and raspberry was yummy! Mum tried coconut & mint choc chip. Grandma had raspberry & white chocolate and caramel. We all enjoyed them very much very creamy ice cream. Would definitely recommend.

Stopping here for brunch, I foolishly assumed it would be a lovely place for food, judging by the food on display in the window.

We were visiting this village and decided to have a morning coffee. We parked up and the first coffee shop we come to was this one. The coffee was very nice. We would visit this shop again. One staff member was very pleased she took time out to ask if we were visiting for the day. We were going to Mattewson's for a look around.

Delicious soft vanilla ice cream, there was quite a queue but it was definitely worth the wait. Lovely.

Owner was just shutting up as we pulled up outside. He offered to open up again and served us all delicious ice creams!! Will definitely call again when we have more time.

After having a snack at their cafe, we nipped next door for an ice cream. Lovely flavours (raspberry ripple for me, toffee something for my husband) in waffle cones - yum!

We called here on the way back from Pickering - its a lovely little village. We had a couple of tubs of ice cream and it was excellent. Nice cheap treat, plus there are tables to sit out outside.

We fancied a sweet treat so popped into the ice-cream parlour & we weren't disappointed. My husband had a banana split & I had a caramel sundae & they were absolutely delicious. Well worth a visit & would highly recommend this ice-cream parlour, it's both a child's & an adults paradise

My daughter chose bubblegum ice cream in a waffle cone. Delicate blue colour and a big size scoop. Good price for a quality product. I couldn’t have fitted one in. If we go again I would get rum and raisin.

Stopped on the way home from a day trip trip to Scarborough at this miniature "Cotswold" village and decided to try the ice cream parlour. They had a good choice of traditional ice creams as well as the "Mr. Whipppy" style alternative. However we chose the traditional and we both had a double. A tub of strawberry and vanilla and a cone of raspberry ripple and chocolate. after sapling each we agreed they were very tasty, but did not quite have the depth of flavour that they needed to be one of the best. The staff were pleasant and at £3.20 each did not quite live up to their billing. However a wander around the waterways away from the A170 helped to make the stop-over a memorable, but brief visit

One of my favourite villages we stopped for ice cream sat watching the world go by. Polite young lady served us with value for money delicious ice cream.

This is one of the best ice cream parlour for miles. Also sells coffee / soft drinks, can get busy in the summer but well worth the wait.

Had an ice cream from here last year and thought it was fabulous. Was worried revisiting this year it wouldn't live up to my memories but pleased to say it did. Lots of flavours to chose from so hard to narrow down! Can't wait to come back.

We are a family of 8, tables inside and outside, but we sat inside away from the sun. They were family friendly and there ice creams were fabulous, reasonably priced and we loved it. Loads of choice of ice cream. I had a mega waffle cone for £4 with 3 choices of ice cream. I had raspberry and white chocolate x2 and new York cheesecake too. Hubby had caramel ripple x3, girls had chocolate and mint choc chip, bubblegum and milkshakes. It was lovely. Too nice to wait to take a photo guys sorry. Lovely outing, good service fabulous ice creams.

Having passed here many times while on holiday and admiring the quaint village we visited before we went home. Shop and cafe very busy but I personally thought the ice cream was average. Have tasted better. Was a wee bit disappointed after reading the reviews. But that is my own opinion

Being about a million degrees there was a queue at this place all afternoon but it was well worth the 5 minute wait. I just had one scoop of chocolate with a flake and it was delicious. It was obviously very popular as nearly everyone walking about had a tub or cone! There were plenty of staff serving and the prices were decent.

After a lovely stroll through the woods and around the lake we stopped for a ice cream, I chose a knickerbocker glory and my husband had a cherry sundae they were both excellent would definitely recommend coming here if you visit.

I'm not an ice cream fanatic, but the ice cream here is some of the best I've had. If I lived close enough then I would be there every week! Great choice, delicious flavours.

We really enjoyed the delicious ice cream here! Beautifully presented and the staff are lovely. I was able to get my wheel chair in here without any problems but I imagine there would be problems if it was busy. Xx

We enjoyed a quick visit and my girlfriend enjoyed her purchase. A few flavours were out of stock but the staff were friendly and conveyed that well. It was also around 3pm on a Sunday so that's perfectly understandable.

Me and My boyfriend went to Thorton le dale in June, We decided to visit here for an icecream because it was a warm day, I got a lemon top - It was lovely (The sorbet was more sweet than sour) and my boyfriend got a Toffee and Honeycomb, We went again recently and got the same, The prices had gone up slightly since June which wasnt a problem but the icecreams are only small for the price.

According to my husband this was the best ice cream he's ever had and I must agree they were pretty delicious. Plenty of flavours to chose from and each one sounding more delicious than the last. We had a cherry amaretto and honeycomb waffle cone.

We went hoping to get ice cream sundaes with some sauces and extras but only 3 sundaes on the menu and the girl serving us refused to let us have any sauces on any other ice creams. The ice cream was ok but nothing amazing. Next time we will stick to Scarborough ice cream sundaes.

My wife and I called in with our two pups and being dog friendly it was very suitable for us.We had just had a lovely walk round the village so we're ready for early lunch/snack.We had visited a couple of years ago and liked it then. As the weather was ok - we sat outside under shelter in the garden area.We had sausage butties, coffees and a flapjack which costed about £12.All was served nicely and the food and eating area was really nice. We would recommend it and certainly visit it again.Next time I am going to get some items from cake shop to take home !!

Having visited Thornton Le Dale in North Yorkshire for over 50 years as a child, teenager and an adult, the enduring charm of this village is always better appreciated with an ice cream!

Really excellent ice cream. The choice of flavours wasn't so exhaustive that people could not make a choice, but choice non the less was there. Served through the front of the shop the queue was about ten long. Goes to show the quality when it is not the only ice cream shop.

We are staying close by and decided to stop for an ice cream in Thornton le Dale. Balderson's offer a good choice of flavours, soft and scooped available with a mixture of toppings. A medium cone costs £1.70. Which was very nice......yumy yumy!

Today we visited Thornton le Dale and had a lunch at Balderson's. The service was very quick and they serve an assortment of sandwiches to traditional hot meal, sausages, pies, fish etc. Normal teas, coffee and soft drinks are available as well as cold bottled lager and beers.As part of the cafe they have here own bakery which sells an extensive range pastries, breads and cakes. The cafe has a large seating area with an outdoor sitting area at the back of the cafe. Highchairs are available for the little ones. Toilets are not easy to get to, if you have trouble with steps, hand rails are in place. The doorways are narrow as this is an old building. Enjoyed our lunch and the prices for food and drinks are average.

oh my this is the best ice cream parlour in the world! we came everyday while staying local camping, the staff where very kind , service was quick even thou we where in school holidays, there have many flavours , some very unusual flavours too, we loved coming here we where very sad to be going home but will be back next year, there is seating inside, and benches close to shop outside, the village square is across the road to with plenty seating so on sunny days you can sit outside and eat the best ice cream in this beautiful yorkshire town. you will not be disappointed

At the end of a walk in Thornton Le Dale, no visit should be complete without stopping off here for a homemade ice cream. Wide choice of flavours and highly recommend the Ameretto Cherry and New York cheesecake.

After luck next door called here for ice cream. Amaretto and cherry was very good, good value and god service. Not the best ice cream I've had but OK.

Went in with my 3 year old grand daughter, asked her what she wanted, typical 3 year old, she wanted chocolate and strawberry. Knowing she wouldnt eat 2 scoops i asked very nicely if i could just have half a scoop of each, in a cone, with a flake, answer NO. I said oh please, it doesnt matter if it isnt even quiet half a scoop she is only little, NO, we dont do things like that for children,you will have to have two scoops, so in the end i bought two scoops in a tub and ate half myself, lovely ice cream, but very rude and very inconsiderate service, wont go there again.

Called here a couple of times whilst in the area for takeout icecream. Quite a good variety and flavour and always tasty (especially the bubblegum icecream). What more do I need to say.

Such a huge variety of flavours on offer! I went for the Turkish delight flavour and it was delicious! The staff were warm and welcoming and the ice cream portions generous. Such a pretty village too. I look forward to my next visit and won't leave the village without stopping off here! highly recommended!

We have been in Thornton Le Dale for the afternoon and decided on an ice cream before we left. Great choice of flavours. We had a take away one but it is an ice cream parlour as well serving lovely desserts. Ice cream was really good so will be stopping again when we are in the area.

Have been through Thornton le Dale on many occasions but have never stopped there until today & loved the place especially the ice cream parlour. There are lots of different flavours available but we decided to try the knickerbocker glory which was available. It had fruit cocktail, jelly, strawberry ice cream, vanilla ice cream, biscuit rolls, a straw, an umbrella & grated chocolate on top - delicious

Food is always good and cakes scrummy! The garden at the back is sunny and staff friendly too! A lovely spot to stop, even for just an ice cream cone in one of the many delicious flavours and a leg stretch around this beautiful village.

Gorgeous village, lovely cafe and ice cream shop. Maybe bias as it was a glorious sunny day but a must stop for any north east visitor.

I only had a breakfast but it was served well, place clean, the staff very nice and had an outside area when the weather was nice, not dog friendly inside.

We caught the bus to Pickering but decided to stop off in Thornton-le-dale. It was a lovely warm morning and we called into Baldersons for a coffee. The cakes were very tempting so we had cakes and coffee. We sat outside in the sun in the back garden. Nice coffee and excellent food-glad we stopped of in Thornton-le dale.

We enjoyed a home made ice cream when we arrived in Thornton le Dale.There was a large variety of flavours.I enjoyed the caramel.

This is a lovely wee place to stop for an ice cream but hard to choose a flavour;-) plenty to choose from & they have original soft whippy ice cream too! They have a selection of cones to choose from or tubs..my son was a big fan of their chocolate ice cream:-)

We visited Baldersons for a quick stop off for breakfast... All staff were extremely friendly... Great coffee and wonderful baked items! The children loved the selection of ice creams, it was a little early for ice cream but we will be back too sample later in the summer!

Great range of home made ice cream; lots of flavours & options to eat in or take away. Part of a row of cafe, bakery & ice cream parlour with parking in front but local car park not far away. Lovely to sit by the stream & eat ice cream.

Our first visit to Thornton_le_Dale,ABSOLUTELY "ChcolateBox" village!!Some of the Houses out there are really lovely!!The place it self was lovely with it's little shops & Ice CreamParlour,we had Banana Splits....very nice shop..clean,tidy BUT!! only 1 lady serving,should of been at least 2 there , as it did start to get a little bit busy..I felt so sorry for her !!!!!

Popped in twice over the weekend, staff friendly, choice is huge and price is very good.I even got 2 small cones for the dogs and wasnt charged the earth,

Stopped here 3 times and tried the knickerbocker glory, chocolate nut sundae, banana boat, coffee and toasted tea cake (not just me!). All absolutely delicious and served with a smile. Comfortable sofas to sit on and watch the world go by, also a few tables and chairs. Also Wi-Fi. Did not get a chance to try all the different flavours for cones, but may have to plan my next holiday around this place! This is not the same as the café in Pickering, although may have same owners, don't know. Parking outside but gets very busy.

I had ice cream here to celebrate my Pops' 60th Birthday. He had vanilla with lemon top and I had salted caramel. Both were delicious!
