Sadly, although the food was fine, the service was poor. We know hospitality isn't much fun currently and are prepared to cut some slack if staff aren't bouncy happy, but when we ordered 4 breakfasts and drinks and simply wanted two of them to not have mushrooms but something else instead, were faced with a forceful "we don't do substitutions". Well most other places would be perfectly happy to add something like another tablespoon of beans in replacement for the mushrooms and not be so miserable in reply. It's really not asking much for a cover of £30. I rarely give a negative review as I like to deal with it at the time and allow the venue to put a issue right but, sadly, there was no where really to go with this.

This is an excellent cafe with great staff and service. We both had the fruit cake which was rich and moist and frankly delicious, the diet starts next week.

Been there a few times with my family. Great location, just by the bus stops so can easily get in and out of saltash. As it’s on top of the hill the air is very fresh, a few shops nearby. Good coffee, cakes are not bad.

Visit regularly as very few coffee houses in Saltash. Food is always well presented and tasty, reasonably priced and establishment is generally clean. Recently ordered a milkshake however, beautifully advertised with cream and crushed biscuit in a tall glass. On receipt I was presented with a plastic cup and squirty cream. When asked the waitress whether it could be returned for an accurate representation of the product displayed, I was advised that the biscuit is sold separately for 1£ and I'd be more than welcome to purchase and sprinkle over myself... but wasn't included despite being advertised? All in all not a stand out coffee house but the best given the limited availability for the area.

Popped into Bakers Coffee Shop before heading home after a busy couple of days. Ordered varies coffees which were very nice, plus poached egg on toast with mushrooms I'm very fussy about my poached eggs these were perfect. Took home some very locally made Cornish pasties and sausage rolls which both tasted amazing. Thank you to all at Bakers Coffee shop it was lovely.

A lovely little place for coffee with lots of indoor seating as well as an outdoor area set back from the busy street. Always has soya milk and the coffee is good quality. Not tried eating in here as a vegan so will do another review of food if they start offering vegan options. Always clean and staff happy to help.

I went with my husband and son for lunch. I fancied a salad, sadly my first two options weren’t available but when I chatted with the waiter, we resolved the situation. I got a delicious coriander chicken salad! A lovely fruit smoothie! Then to follow was a piece of carrot cake. Amazing :)

Lovely place to be, lots of friendly staff. But unfortunately the hot food was lacking, I ordered a breakfast bap with three bits of bacon and two poached eggs, which was okay at first, but I was glad I checked inside! One of the eggs were under done, very snotty and congealed. But apart from that everything seemed OK. Bit pricey in my opinion, compared to other places in Saltash.

I went into Bakers Coffee Shop with my 8 year old son and ask the man behind the counter if it was table service to which I got what can only be described as a "Grunt" and not anything decipherable in the English language.

We often use Baker's for lunches, particularly enjoying the paninis and jacket potatoes. The hot drinks are always lovely, and cake selection is also very nice. Great for a light lunch, they also have lots of outside seating for those warmer (drier) days.

We called in for lunch on a Saturday. If you prefer more choice from the hot counter, get there early. At 13:30 we were fortunate to have the last 2 Pasties, one beef and one cheese and onion. They were presented with a salad garnish and coleslaw. All very tasty.

Good quality food served quickly and by friendly staff. Use this fairly frequently as wife has nails done locally. Coffee is good but place very basic. Would suggest a few large plants and/or drapes to reduce the noise which echoes through the building. Great outdoor verandah, plenty of space. Ideal for a stop-off.

There are many reasonable places to have a cup of tea and a cake in Saltash, we visited Bakers recently and my son knocked my coffee over, the staff/owner replaced my coffee and cleaned beautifully. No harsh words, no problem. I will be back, I was so grateful to them for how they made me feel in what could have been an embarrassing situation.

Went over to Fore Street Saltash yesterday and went nearly to the top of the Street for a change, there we saw this lovely large cafe with plenty of seating outside aswell as inside. We only had a teacake and a pot of tea each, but was presented very well and actually gave us 4 butters each instead of most cafes of 2. The staff were very pleasant and there was a very large disabled toilet in there swell, which is very important to a lot of people. If you are shopping near the top of Fore Street or if you are abled bodied, this is a nice place to stop for eats and a cuppa.very clean.Cream teas and bacon sarnies,so variety available.

Clean, quiet, friendly staff, and a fantastic breakfast with locally sourced produce. The granary bread was toasted beautifully, the bacon was thickly sliced, I asked for the breakfast without an egg and they substituted it for another rasher of bacon without even questioning; excellent service. Been visiting this place at least once a week since it opened about 18 months ago, about time I dropped them a review really...Comfy seats, airy place, outside seating (gorgeous in summer), friendly staff and a lovely menu.I tend to have a latte but have had beautiful smoothies here and the kids have had fabulous milkshakes.I can recommend the Sweet Chilli Chicken Panini - gorgeous and hot and sweet and yummy; and also THE best bacon sandwiches in town, and i have tried all 7 (yes, 7!) cafes in Fore St here.Theres plenty of space for pushchairs or wheelchairs and there is wheelchair access.Theres usually some very tempting cakes, treats and gingerbread men on offer too.My favourite coffee shop in Saltash.

We visited for morning coffee. Bakers is a light airy bright cafe with a variety of different seating options and is a pleasant place to spend time. The staff on duty appeared to have no familiarity with the drinks on the menu, and the crockery was a bit basic, but the tea and pastries were lovely. It would be great if a fuller breakfast could be offered, and minor decorative items could be attended to (eg fix dado rail to wall where it is coming away, and fix cracked plaster near ceiling) but this is currently a good cafe.

Fairly new cafe right on the high street so gets the business. It's big with lots of seating and looks attractive. Then the problems start!!! The clientele is rough. It was fairly quiet time on a Saturday afternoon with 5 staff BUT still had to wait 5 minutes to get served at the counter (meant to have waitress service) as all staff doing their own thing with a complete disregard for waiting customers! Took an eternity for the food to arrive ( dread to think what it would be like if it was busy ) and it only just acceptable!!! So all in all not to be visited again. The problem is not much choice of cafés so sadly this place will get punters. Better to seek out the hidden away Italian cafe.

where do I begin, the first time I visited here while in the area during a week day I was quite impressed, however my visit today 21st june was just awful, I don't know if its cause the Saturday staff aren't as attentive as the weekday staff. ordered two mochas and three cakes. was told would bring them to the table. my partner and I sat our son in a high chair waited at least 15 minutes for our cakes and drinks to be brought over. my partner went to pass my 16month old son his dummy and this stroppy male waiter snapped 'watch im putting your cake on the table' quite abrupt, first rule over waitering never put food down on a table over someones head! then I was mortified, he brought the mochas up and was putting them down on the table but had one right above my sons head which if had spilled would have hurt him, my partner and I were quickly grabbing the drins from him, improvement in manners are required by the Saturday staff, customer service and also waitering skills.......never pass food or drinks over heads of customers! absouloutly shocking,,,,,,,will never return!

I've visited several times since it's opening. Initially, as you'd expect, the service was amazing with the waitresses coming out to the outdoor seating area to take your order. Now you need to place your order at the counter, usually while several waitresses chat to each other.I visited last Wednesday, 11th of June. Wanting to use the toilet I found one of the waitresses was using it before me. No sound of the hand dryer being activated by this waitress so, obviously, some waitresses are ignoring basic food / personal hygiene. Knowing that a waitress had used the toilet but hadn't washed her hands afterwards really put me off eating there.Really needs managers to enforce good customer care practice.
