Astalet in Rushmoor

Was visiting my Son,his Girlfriend and my 2yr old Granddaughter. We went for Breakfast here and it was great. The Food was lovely,service fast and helpful. The Guy serving was very good with our 2yr old. Would recommend to anyone who appreciates Great Service and lovely food. Not the 1st time we have been here and will certainly be back.

Greeted at the door, welcomed in with a smile. Wasn't rushed to place our order. Placed our order and our meal was served quite quickly. All the staff were so friendly and smiling. We had our food and was hot and tasted great. Would totally recommend.

I love this place, although I no longer live in Aldershot I visit whenever I'm in the area. In my travels I've found cafes close to the Astalet, but none as good

Back visiting family and back to this great cafe. Not managed to try anything else on the menu as the breakfast is superb. Staff very friendly the food is of top quality, presentation is great. Food hot and fresh. Tables cleaned as soon qs people leave. Always clean and tidy. When we come down we always do two visits.

I have been using the cafe for a number of years as me and work buddies used to meet up Fridays before starting work .very clean abd staff always friendly, food arrives quickly and always very tasty. Very good value for money you would be hard pressed to find a better cafe in Hampshire.

We went back down to visit family and when booking a hotel, the location of the hotel depends on how far away it is from this cafe. The food is really good. On this occasion we turned up too early not checking the opening times. We sat in the car opposite watching. The door opened. By the time we had crossed the road and went in, the place already had a queue. People were just nearby waiting for it to open. This is popular and you could tell just by how quick it filled up. The breakfast is really good and enjoyable and we have been always happy eating here. Service and good food is very important to me and once again we were not let down.

All I can say is this is by far the cleanest cafe in Aldershot. Tasty food, sensibly priced, but above all clean in there. Love it!

Walking round Manor Park with a mate we decided to pop into Astalet Cafe for a sandwich and drink. You could easily pass it by if you didn’t know it was there but there’s plenty of nearby on street parking. Customer base appears to be mainly locals and workers - so a good indication of value. Smallish no frills interior has the feel of a “greasy spoon” but with prompt service, competitive prices and friendly staff it’s well worth seeking out!

Had a breakfast here. Top marks to the place. It was hot and very tasty. The value for money was great and the small potato disks (best desription) were very nice. We had spend a few days down there and we are glad we found this place on day 2 as we then returned on day 3. Well worth a visit. Tell them RJ sent you. lol... It was nice. and we reccomend you to go.

The Astalet has been my go to cafe for many years. I have been to many other cafes due to being close to where I work, but they just don’t come close. Friendly staff, good and quick food..perfect!

With out a shadow of a doubt the best service. Lovely polite service, didn’t have time for a breakfast so got a lovely baguette to go and it was amazing, 10 stars from me

After an absence abroad for 6 months I could not wait to return to Astalet for another of their brilliant, no frills, full English breakfast. I do agree with other reviewers that the sausages are cheap and not particularly good but everything else is most excellent. The staff are excellent as is the very friendly bloke behind the counter. Highly recommended for an honest workingman's cafe. Merchant Bankers need not apply!

Very nice cafe lovely breakfast staff very polite and friendly especially chap behind counter,also open at 6:30 which is good for early starter like me only tiny let down is the use of cheap sausages (my pet hate) which happens quite a lot with cafes,also I think tea/coffee should be included in the price of the breakfast £6 otherwise a very pleasant cafe

Excellent food and service easy to park near cafe and shops and woods butchers is just across road for some excellent barbecue meat in the summer

It does not get any better than this. This café is a proper working man’s café. Perfect for what it is. I have been here a few times. This time I had one of the set full English breakfasts. 2 fried eggs, 2 rashers of bacon, 2 slices of black pudding, one sausage, stacks of mushrooms and two slices of bread all for about £5.50. The food was well cooked and very tasty. Cannot be beaten.The owners are friendly and the service efficient and prompt. You will not find any merchant bankers in here. Just honest working men and women. Thanks God! If you are sick to death of going into fancy eating houses and being assailed by unruly children with names like Tarquin, try this café!

Came here for a good old fashion English breakfast and I wasn't disappointed. I would call this an old fashion greasy spoon but it's not greasy at all, it's very tidy and the food was all cooked very well.Don't come here if you want your hipster breakfast with avocado but do come here if you want fried bread or black pudding on the side!One thing to note, it's cash only

Nipped in for sausage egg n chips Very clean and tidy Cafe, I like it that you can see into the kitchen from the counter. Very agreeable greeting, and speedy service. My only criticism is that the sausage was “plastic”!! Need to change supplier. Would recommend this Cafe

I always forget this hidden local gem. We had a bacon and egg butty and 2 breakfast butties after a morning sledging at the park. The bread is gorgeous, the coffee ok (most coffee out these days is pants, so that’s praise), perfect door stop sandwiches!

Parking a bit tricky but plenty about nearby, Eaten here many times with mates. Good quality Full English, always eager to please, the more you go, the more they make you welcome. No frills, very clean, nice atmosphere, for me If you want a good breakfast a read of a newspaper washed down with a smashing cup of milky coffee see you there.

Merchant bankers; this place is not for you. This is a proper old fashioned greasy spoon workingman's cafe. Great! The food is very tasty. The portions are generous. The service is efficient and friendly. The value is fantastic. I usually have some form of "Full English". The eggs are always beautifully cooked as is the bacon. If I have just one criticism it is the the black pudding is rather dry.

I absolutely love this place. Breakfasts are outstanding. Friendly staff. Only grumble I’ve ever had is there’s just not enough tables when it’s really busy.

Very nice breakfast for two, nice and filling. A good location and a lot of variety too choose from. The only thing I would say is they need mayonnaise available on all tables.

Was on my way to my b and b and found Astalet cafe had time to kill so popped in. Had a great meal at very reasonable price definitely be back. Staff very friendly had a great chat about the shots. If you're hungry give it a try we'll worth it.

I’ve been visiting the astralet for many years and I’ve never had a bad experience there. The staff are always very friendly and accommodating. The food is always delicious and the prices reasonable. The restaurant is always clean and welcoming.

You must try the bubble and squeak it’s amazing, friendly staff reasonable priced. This cafe is always busy as it’s got it right. Nice treat after morning in the park.

I've been wanting to have breakfast here for years and recently I have made it through the door. A friend and I have been trying out local breakfast places in our retirement and the Astalet is the best. Very friendly welcome, clean and bright inside and a good choice of breakfasts. The food was great and the service excellent. Don't miss out, have breakfast at the Astalet!

I've been coming here for years, but this visit with the family was a first for Sunday. The place was buzzing, only a couple of tables empty. Always been excellent and can recommend it to anyone. Note the close at 2pm on Sundays. Ray

Always busy, this popular cafe does a decent English Breakfast. Not my favorite cup of coffee, as I prefer a mug rather than cup with saucer.

We live about 100 metres from this greasy spoon cafe but it’s taken nearly three years for us to visit - despite having talked about it for a long time. If you’re looking for finely brewed coffee, comfortable sofas, locally produced sausages and high quality toast, go elsewhere. However, if you’re after a fantastic value for money, enormous fried breakfast served in about 10 minutes, then turn up, grab a seat, hang out with builders on their break and leave completely stuffed. Love it!

Decided to visit after a recommendation. Very good breakfast for a reasonable price, I recommend trying the bubble.

Every time I drive past this cafe, it is always full of builders. This is a real 'fry up' place and offers good value for money, all served with a big mug of tea. This place reminds me of the old transport cafe's that were popular years ago.

This is a little cafe situated on the edge of Manor park in Aldershot.It is quite simply the best cafe for breakfast I have ever been to!When I take a day off, after dropping the children at school I always treat myself to breakfast here.The food is fantastic, plenty of choice, nothing is any trouble, very very quick friendly service, food is piping hot and cooked to perfection.I really should try the lunch menu but I see it as 'If I'm going to the Astalet, then I'm having a breakfast'.Can be busy at times but hey, that's because it's so good!

Went early morning with a colleague and they are ready to serve. They offer a variety of English breakfast, fast service and we enjoyed our food. The location being in front of the main road and nearly opposite a stoplight makes parking a little bit of a problem specially in the early morning.

The service although counter service is very good and the food and drinks arrived promptly. We usually have either bacon or sausage sandwiches which are always fresh and tasty. Table cleared quickly after use.

I visited the Astalet on Monday with my son as my car was having its MOT down the road, it was convenient and i have often been curious to visit for a breakfast having heard many people talk about this cafe. The food was ok, as was the service, nothing particularly special, I selected my items for breakfast and they were served on a rather large plate which tends to make the food go cold quicker. The noise level even with only 12 people sitting down in the cafe was pretty awful , we couldnt hear eachother talking over the noise and actually couldnt wait to finish our breakfast and leave...cant say anything amazing about our visit and wouldnt rush back

Have visited several times. polite staff , quick service and food always of a high quality and reasonable price. Looks like an ordinary greasy spoon cafe but food far from greasy, I believe it is griddle cooked. A mix of clientele, from workmen , OAP's and families. Very friendly!

This I feel is the best Cafe in Town. We have always been greeted with a Friendly greeting & welcoming smile. From the ordering counter you get to look into the Kitchen & see how busy (4 lady Chefs on our last visit) can be & clean it is as is the customer area & Toilet. Prices are reasonable & food is plentiful . Although we only had a sandwich & tea it was an enjoyable lunch break. Although opens early beware it closes at 3pm

There is nothing posh about this place, this is a traditional cafe selling well cooked food. If you are after a full english, jacket spud or pie and chips, this is the place to come. Staff are friendly and the fried food is not greasy. If you are in Aldershot, definitely worth a visit

I live about 12 miles away and always made welcome when we visit the is one feller he always comes over and chats to my boy about footy so kid friendly to not to much to say but just visit and make your own mind up don't think you're regret it

Been passing this cafe located in High Street, Aldershot, odd location, few steps away from a traffic light, roadside parking so clients need to park in a busy high street or side road opposite Manor park. Went inside and at 0640 hours, around four tables were occupied. The gentleman at the till took our order with a beaming smile and positive attitude, felt welcome; good for a miserable weather today. I must say i was impessed with the cleanliness, i could see the kitchen from where i stand at the till. Fast service (and fast to take away the plates!). Cappucino could've been better. The sausage was not burned, mushroom was delicious, bubble was interesting, presentation of food was clean and attractive as the photo shows. Over-all experience is very good, try their breakfast!

Wonderful breakfasts, brilliant staff always cheerful,don't go anywhere else except in send near woking where they have another cafe which is just as good as the aldershot one.

My family and I visited on a busy Saturday morning and was met with a cheery smile and good morning. We ordered our food and drinks. The waitress said to take our drinks to a table and she would bring our food over when it was ready. We only had to wait about 5/10 minutes before the food was ready and was duly served by the waitress. The food was freshly cooked, hot and plenty of it. There were free papers to read and the food was not pricey.
