Well, I had been told this place was a fantastic Fish and chips destination and I was not disappointed at all. The portion sizes are Amazing, crispy batter that is not rancid or oily. So good to have tried it. 1000% recommend it.

I always had fresh cooked to order food , which I don't mind waiting a little longer for when you get quality with fairly decent portion sizes. Service is polite and friendly, often getting a greeting from the back of the kitchen too.

I had large cod and chips. The cod was okay, but the chips were disgusting, some of them were not quite cooked through, and they looked and tasted like they had been cooked in very old reused oil.

Popped into this place on my way home from work this evening. Staff were polite & friendly, the shop itself is nice & clean. My food was piping hot as made to order, large portions for a very reasonable price & very tasty too!

Incredibly generous portion sizes and cooked to order, or in small batches so as what you get is really fresh. The pricing is very fair and the service is good. The shop and preparation areas all look very clean. In my opinion this is the best chippy in Aldershot.

Great food, freshly cooked. The prices are good and service is excellent. I’ve had other chippies in the area charge nearly half again for food that was substandard. Well worth giving this chippy a look!

This place does not accept payments by card. The person behind the till was so kind to me that I am giving the place five stars. We went back recently and the member of staff who assisted was just lovely. The food was not all that great, but people do have different tastes. The food was served in an efficient manner and I am giving this place five stars because the member of staff behind the till was kind and the food was made in a prompt way.

Fantastic food and great value. It was our first order from here but it won’t be the last. Fresh fish cooked to order and very generous portions. We had a selection and everything was done well. The large portion of chips is massive we ordered three portions between 6 people and only managed to finish 1 1/2.

The quality of the food here is excellent! If you want a decent bag of chips then you really need to go here. They are the best fish and chips in Aldershot! Really great portions and the prices are pretty good too. I would recommend The Tall Ship any day and everyday to anyone who wants a takeaway that they'd enjoy.

Best in the area, you do have to wait but compared to normal chippies is just as long but the food is always 100% fresh and made to order. Never had a messed up order and staff always polite. I always get a thank you or 2 for me coming in.

Cold chips looked like they were cooked day before rubbish portion for large and price would not recommend. Especially at lunchtime.think they save the best for night time go to kings instead

The fish was huge and the chips. Both were cooked to perfection and the batter was lovely and crispy. Great value for money and would highly recommend this takeaway.

Fish is lovely , cod, and it's huge and good quality. The chips, well they ain't no good, very greasy and always seem to get a lot of the chips 'ends' and not the normal length ones, a real, real let down with the spuds. But as I say ' the cod is huge and bloody tasty ' The staff are very polite though. And I wish they do kids portion meals for the few of us who can't eat a whole fish and chips in one go and the kids !

Found by accident and have now used a few times. Fish is always cooked to order and is beautifully cooked. Portions are large. Prices are good. Service is excellent with a smile.

Quick and friendly service.... asked for a "small rock and chips" and this is what I got!!... WOW!!.... batter on the fish was cooked right through perfectly and was so crunchy..... the fish inside was moist and flaky..... nothing greasy about this at all!..... the chips are the best chippy-chips that I've ever had.... again, well-drained and not greasy... would not go to another chippy in town when this is so good :)

Went here lastnight after our usual fish and chip shop had a queue of about 10 people waiting for food. I did have a short wait while they cooked my fish but it was worth it, (I'd rather wait for something fresh than have one that's been sat in the hotplate for half an hour!) lovely fresh fish and chips (huge portions) will def go back again!

I have visited the Tall Ship for a few times, and every time I had such a wonderful meal. The fish and chips is very generously portioned, stayed nice and hot throughout eating it. The young girl who is in the counter serving is a delight to talk to, very nice and bubbly. I cannot ask for more. Thank you, and keep up the good work!

Went in and ordered 2 cod and chips and curry sauce had to waiting 15 minutes to be told by a member of staff that my fish had gone wrong chips look enimic and staff were rude will never return again bad service they are supposed to know how to cook fish

On the odd time I have been here each time I have had to sit and wait - I might as well of cooked it myself at home. Not what a fish and chip shop should be like, but the food was fine when I eventually got it.

Just call them on my way, everything is fresh cook. By the time when I get there, everything is ready. Amazing! Great value and taste food! Love it!

This fish and chips shop had gone from one management to another and now, with another new management/owners. I was surprised with the size of the fish! The chef actually showed me the un-cooked fish and he cooked it right there and then, it turned into a golden crispy fish that was a joy to eat, i even took a photo and see for yourself.

They have so much to offer here and are always really friendly love getting fish and chips from here never had any problems. They do amazing chicken nuggets as well

My local fish and chip restaurant The Tall Ship in Halimote Road Aldershot recently came under new management. This takeaway fish and chip shop was always good so I wondered if it would still serve the same beautifully prepared food as it has done for many years. I need not have worried because it has got even better. It is run as a family business and like the the previous owners the new people are a family who are originally from Hong Kong and after 4 visits it has been a pleasure to get to know them. On arriving you will be greeted by who I assume is the son and daughter who serve behind the counter while the parents do the cooking. The young girl serving is so polite and attentive and she really makes customers feel welcome which is a nice touch and sadly lacking in many take away restaurants in my area. The young guy who assists with serving who once again I assume is the son and my apologies if I have got that wrong is also very polite but the girl is a customer service dream and nothing is to much trouble for her. She wants all customers to be happy and it is very refreshing to find someone as customer focused as she is in this day and age. The Tall Ship is clean, there is plenty of parking outside, and above all a warm and pleasant welcome inside from two wonderful people but what about the food. Fear not because the great food that has always been served hear has got even better. Make sure you are really hungry before going in because the portions are enormous. The size of the fish is the largest I have seen from any fish and chip take away and it is cooked to perfection. The batter is crisp and golden as it should be and covers the whole fish. The very efficient girl wraps all the fish individually to prevent it sticking together or welding itself to the chips on the trip home which is a nice touch and not seen at to many similar chip shops. What about the chips? I hear you ask. Once again a portion is large enough to feed the army and cooked to perfection. They have a notice on the wall saying they cook in a vegetable oil that is very low in harmful saturated fat and contains just 1% of the stuff that is not so good for you. In my opinion this makes the food taste even better. All fish is cooked to order which means a short 5 minute wait but it is well worth it, there is a big difference in eating a freshly cooked piece of cod over a piece that was cooked 45 minutes before and kept hot as is found in some fish and chip shops. Considering the new owners have only been operating for a about 6 weeks they are doing a fantastic job and are definite candidates for fish and chip shop of the year if indeed that competition still takes place. Fantastic people, and great fish and chip takeaway but there is no need to accept my word, give it try because you will not be disappointed because for me the tall ship ticks all of the right boxes.

I ordered the Cheese burger and chips tonight, and they tasted so nice!!! Love their chips! Fresh and hot. So yummy!!!! Ps: curry sauce was nice too.

I went to this fish & chip shop with my mum very recently and was served what I can only describe as the WORST chips I had ever been served anywhere in the world... DISGRACEFULL!!!! We were made to wait for our order for approx 10 mins when there was not even anyone else at the shop, we thought that it was being freshly cooked because of the delay!? On arriving home to eat them (3mins away) we found the chips to be Luke warm and so dehydrated that they resembled cardboard. I was so incensed by the poor quality that I immediately returned to the shop to ask what they had served us? the female that had served us immediately offered a full refund without any question at all or even looking at the food that they had sold us as if she was expecting it when I pulled up outside the shop. I will never be visiting this fish&chip shop again..... The worst ever!BRADSHAWS for me from now on, which is clearly the best in town by far

They have cooked my fish orders fresh each time I have gone in. It means it is always hot & freshly cooked, so much nicer than if it had sat in a warmer for a chunk of time. However it does mean you have to wait a while for the food. The staff are always polite and friendly. Not great for parking nearby.

Just had a bad experience here. Fish ordered was overcooked in thick, hard, over-oily batter. Portions were small. I'd specifically asked for light batter and the result was the total opposite. Actually the worst fish out of a fish and chip shop I've ever had. When I called up to ask why they had overcooked my fish when I specifically asked them not to, the lady in charge could not say why. She said next time if I asked they will drain more oil off! Unfortunately that won't make up for uninspiring fish, thick crunchy batter, overpowering oil. The lady offered to exchange but I was already home and could not be bothered to make the round trip and waste more time and petrol. If she'd offered to bring around a replacement so I did not have to waste my resources on their errors, that would have showed enthusiastic customer service and I'd have accepted. Shame because this shop used to serve much better fish, lightly battered and well cooked. The owner knew how to cook fish and listened to customers instead of arguing with them.
