Ashoka Ashton Lane in Glasgow City

My partner and I took our friend who was over visiting from Italy to Ashoka Ashton lane for lunch. We ordered South Indian garlic chilli lamb and creamy chicken jalfrezi with a giant naan and a side of pilau and mushroom rice. The portions were excellent and beautifully presented we are all so full. The curry was to die for. The meat was cooked to perfection. The South Indian garlic chilli is spicy but my partner and I love our spice so it was ideal for us. We finished the meal with espresso which was also excellent. The service was outstanding, we were served by Chaitali and her male colleague (who we unfortunately never got the name of) and they were both so happy to explain the items on the menu and serve us with a lovely smile. The restaurant was immaculate we all had such a perfect lunch at Ashoka Ashton lane and I can’t wait to return.

We are in Glasgow visiting family, 6 of us we went to Ashoka tonight. We had a lovely time, the food was excellent, the atmosphere was really vibrant. A big shout out to Rowan who took our order and served our table, she was lovely, helpful and friendly, thank you 👍

Awful take away…have used Ashoka in the past but this is a bland greasy tae away. I’d recommend you not bother for a home delivery Delivery was fast and the delivery guy was nice

Dropped into this lovely West End curry house for a quick early evening meal before heading to the City Centre. The ambiance was relaxed, the food excellent and the service pretty intense (but probably because we had made it clear we were in a hurry!) Can recommend the Lamb Dhansac. Maybe a little on the pricey side - £8.50 for one rice and one garlic nan.

Had a lovely meal with friends, excellent service from Gaurav and his colleagues. We shared small plates which let us try lots of different delicious dishes, we thoroughly enjoyed them all. Great value for both the food and wine.

Decided last minute to tell my mum and dad that they had to pay an extra £70 to get into the restaurant on the 31st on top of their wedding anniversary meal because they didn't have a ticket for their 6:30 meal booking. Disgusting. I hope you had a lot more people cancelling that night. The Ashton lane party didnt start till 7 their meal was booked for 6:30. They had no intention of going to the street party yet told they would have to pay £35 a head. What's up with you people?

Good vegan choice, tofu shashlik was super as was baingan aloo. Tofu Kerala chilli was hot and sweet: should have had more pepper, and no sweetness. Lots of gravy with tofu pieces, vegetables such as green pepper would have made a nice addition.

One of the criteria I would judge an Indian restaurant on is nan bread. Tonight's is bland, undercooked, soggy and has been nowhere near a tandoor. Food was ordered via their app but when we arrived 40 mins later, the order hadn't been taken to the kitchen yet. Serving staff eating dinner while packing the order. So won't order here again.
