Shahed's Original in Glasgow City

It's a hit or a miss. Food can be ok sometimes and all staff are absolutely brilliant. Very polite and well organised. With that being said this place will soon fail and the credit of that will go to its owner who is a very stuck up and rude.

Probably the best chicken pakora I have ever had, and a really good portion size too.

This place saves people on a regular basis. The clientele is usually a bit tipsy and they deal with that by providing a heady mix of healing spices, fats and carbs. (Extra points for using Helvetica in their signage)

Kebab was nice up until i got a grey beard hair after i'd ate 2/3 of it.

Banging chicken wings, really good value for big portions.

Daily light robbery. £9.50 for a frozen burger and chips. Prices are way to high. And food quality is not great anymore.

The pizza was good overall better than most out there but wasnt that spicy and yes i felt they forgot to add salt in dough.

I have never had an Indian like this, felt posh and different, everything was presented better and tasted incredible. You ruined all the Indians for me now! :)))

Such a lovely man who works inside , I was 15 minutes late picking up my order and he made me new sides had a smile on his face while doing so , such a lovely place with amazing food for good prices one of the best places in Glasgow

Took almost an hour to wait for our food, while JustEat orders that came in half an hour after ours, were given priority. Pity, because the food was nice.

Got the double with seekh kofte and chicken tikka, if I had to eat that for the rest of my life I'd die happy. So very very good. Going to be coming back often.

Absolute disgraceful service. I don’t mind paying extra if the food quality and taste matches it’s cost but in this case it was far off from even being close. Only reason giving a 2 star and not 1 is because of the guy on the grill who was pretty much doing all the work and he was polite too. This goon was an absolute plonker who had no clue and was on the phone even when customers were waiting to be served. Doesn’t know the menu or have any knowledge of how to deal with customers or make them return back. Food quality wasn’t good as meat was hard and tasteless. Chips were nice. If you do go here avoid this rain forest 🌳 of a guy.

Worst pizza I’ve ever tried in my life, Ordered 16 inches meat feast and 12 inches margarita, paid £25 Pizzas were over cooked rock solid not edible at all. Would not order again from here!

Local gem. 💯 I recommend their Potato Wedges + Donner Meat. Had a large one tonight and finished it all. Their sauce + the salad they put on it is quality aswell, it has ripe cherry tomatoes in it and it's not plain tasting. They have a wide and varied menu, and good service & opening times . ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The quality and consistency of food here is amazing! Everything from the burgers, pizza, wraps etc is top class with spices and flavours that will satisfy all taste buds. Personal fave is the spicy chicken tikka pizza with the desi add! Truly a great night in when you've got a shaheds in!

One of the best lamb burgers I've had in a long while.

Been ordering from Shahed's consistently for about 5 years. Literally never had a bad meal. Doesn't matter whether you've ordered a curry, a burger, peri peri chicken, a kebab, a pizza – it's all great. Tried the Staff Balti tonight and it was superb – the fresh chillies really gave it a pleasant kick. Can't recommend highly enough.

Very disappointed! Pizza was wel over cooked wasn't fresh at all! Will not buy from here again! You see this is why you loose a customer unfortunately staff aren't trained to make great tasty pizzas anymore as, all their intrested in is making money and not caring about the customer satisfaction! All it takes is that extra little effort to produce amazing tasty pizza. If your looking for a mouthwater decent pizza than I would highly recommend you look elsewhere...

Made the effort to drive down from Giffnock but the cold donner meat really was a huge disappointment! If I lived closer I would have certainly brought it back.

I made an order of £59.00 over the phone . I arrived to the takeaway to pick the food, it was getting prepared . When I walked towards the place , I noticed a staff member coming from the pub near the traffic lights , he walked in and I told him that I am here to pick my order. I told him that I don’t want cucumber on our salads . He went to the preparation area and told the man who was preparing the food , then with his bare hand NOT washed , he started to pick the cucumber from the chicken tikka kebab. I felt really appalled!!! I told him: should you not be wearing gloves and clean hands before touching people’s food ? His reply was very ignorant : “ I used my fingers only didn’t touch the food” his body language was very dull and facial expressions were very serious and not friendly ! He spoke to me as if I was the one doing something wrong!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED by the customer service !! I would give credits to the man who was preparing my food, he said hello, and smiled few times at me. But the other staff member made my visit really bad ! Please value your customers and be more friendly, we spend our money to have fresh clean food and expect Minimum customer service ! !!!

used shaheds yesterday for large party...pizzas chips and some pakora thrown in ( no charge for pakora!) excellent service on ordering...food delicious and hot! delivery on.time ...I had 40 people at home and would recommend shaheds for this kind of event...Will definitely order again..

This place has been in business since i was a student 40 years ago. Its much better laid out now, obviously having had a number of facelifts over the years. Its good to be able to sit in at the window, eat and watch the world go by. The place might have changed but the food hasn't and is still as good as it always was. Love this wee place. Makes a tasty end to a few drinks in glasgows pollockshaws area.

Literally, the BEST kebab I've ever had. Kudos guys it was incredible. The missus had a pizza which she thought was too notch too!

Awesome place for take away. Open till late in the night. We had Doner Kebab, samosa and Lamb shish in double naan. Portions were big. Price fair. A place you must try.

Chips cheese and donner, if you want crispy chips this is the place on South Side.

Shahed's food is very very good consistently. I would have given it five stars if the server this evening had offered me a choice of dip as the regular servers would normally have. Considering I come here often tonight I was deeply disappointed.

Ordered pakora and a king prawn kebab. Both outstanding . Great taste, great texture and great ingredients.

Brilliant place. Please look into opening a place in the East end. We badly need a great place like you have on Pollockshaws road.

This place is legend. Been going since 1987. Pakora sauce = cream + chilli sauce , invented at this location!

Great restaurant with great food. I like especially the spicy pizza and the grilled chicken burger. Food is made quickly and it is delivered quickly to address. The staff is friendly and it can get quite busy instore as it in a popular area for food and entertainment.

Ordered a bbq chicken pitta it was drowning in sauce I had to pour the sauce out of it only thing edible was the fries was definitely not impressed , won't be

Food was great, place is super clean, staff are friendly and helped me out when I thought I left my phone there and even let me look at the CCTV. Will be back to try other items on the huge menu!

Long-term 'Shahed's' customer but the new regime are quite disappointing. More expensive. Slower. Less options. Don't sell curries any more but still sell curry accompaniments. Naans with no curries? Come one. Waited well over an hour during a quiet time. Extra costs if you order a kebab. Salad? Extra. Lamb kebab almost £12. Delivery almost £3 as well. Will avoid in future and the old Shahed's seems to be gone.

I've just bought a take away and waited a very long time, even when there's only one person infront of me. My order was sinply a grilled chicken burger meal. It got to the point where I had to ask them how much longer to which the response was did I call and place an order!? Thought that's very cheeky, and in the end my order felt rushed. Chicken burger was paper thin breast, not worth £4.50! Chips were not fresh and no salt neither was I offered any!? High disappointment at the price and quality of my meal £6.50. Rip off guys!! The change in management of this place has really gone down hill. I regret ordering now, and wasting my hard earned money. I'll not be looking to order from here again!

The doner kabab and the pizzas are really nice but the 2 option skewer is not worth the price. The sauces which they provide are too watery.

Visited this place, but big disappointment. Looks like place has changed the management. Disappointing meal and long wait after this if you get compromised quality meal, then it is heart breaking. We had Shahed's grill, very dry and overcooked. Definitely not value for money. And veg pitta selection box, very disappointing look and taste. Most of the cottage cheese, in veg stuffing was dry and over cooked, grill vegetables were burnt. Have ordered Shahed's before, few time but this was just slipped through the hill. Not worth taking the photos even. I think, food has to look appetizing as well, which definitely not the case. Guys, Please gear up. Try to hold your lost position.

Put through a delivery on deliveroo. It then got declined. Called up to see what was happening as I've ordered a few times and been pretty happy with my orders. Got told they don't do curries anymore. Weird since they are still on the menu. Then I asked my husband to call just to see what they say to him. He said yes they would do the curry. Said the address then hung up on him. Customer service pretty bad considering we have ordered a few times and spent good money. Update the menu if you don't do curries anymore.

Pizza paid for was £16.50 was not worth it, tastes like a curry and could have easily got a better pizza elsewhere especially at that price. The service considering we were disappointed did not even insist on making another pizza or give a refund and so I recommend anyone ti be careful before placing an order here

Phoned to place an order for delivery as I don’t have a car. I live a 4 minute drive from the take away, they wanted almost £18 for delivery. Extortion.

We've been a customer of Shaheds for over ten years. The consistency is like no other take away we've tried. Food is always amazing, really high quality and the freshest ingredients. Since the refurb, they've added loads more options to the already brilliant menu, absolutely worth a visit!

Popped in here while in Glasgow, noticed it has been totally refurbished, I had a little box of delights, hot, tasty and well seasoned, highly recommend a visit

Arguably the best takeaway in Glasgow. Service that goes the extra mile and a Southside staple. Recent refurb has only improved things even more. Quite possibly the best quarter pounder burger going too. Lucky enough to live round the corner. My waist might disagree but I'm always delighted.

Recently redone the place but food standards are still at a good level. Takeaway here is great. I would have given 5 stars but sometimes the staff could be lousy and forget an item or two. It's a takeaway so the majority of this review is based on the quality of the food. For a takeaway you can't ask for much for food is of a good quality.

Ordered a buffet for a party last night. Food was amazing, delivery service bang on time. The currys and spicy pizzas are probably the best you’ll get in Glasgow.
