Really enjoyed my food. think 3.50 for the chips a bit too expensive in my opinion.

unfortunately it was very bland in flavour and seasoning, the lamb was tender and the portions are a good size, the staff are incredibly friendly and polite, very unfortunate the food let us down

Food was great, good quality and tasty, service at collection was good too.

This is an old Southside haunt of mine on Nithsdale Rd. which i hadn't visited in some years. Glad to say not much had changed. Decor is traditional. I had discovered that Anand was one of the few Indian establishments still offering All you can eat buffet,six nights a week at the very reasonable Price of £14 weekdays and £15 on Weekends There is a great varied choice of starters, Mains and accompaniments.Buffets can be a bit hit and miss for me. Some of these world buffets are decidedly awful but this buffet is excellent. The Chicken , beef and Lamb dishes were perfectly cooked . Flavourful, melt in the mouth meat.No tough,chewy meat or gristle and fat. Perfect texture,the way it should be, marinated in tasty piquant sauces. Staff were very attentive and efficiently cleared away used plates. A bit of prompting was necessary on a couple of occasions to have empty buffet dishes replenished but it was a very busy Saturday evening which made this understandable. All together a very enjoyable dining experience.

Such a lovely place! The staff are amazing and so friendly and accommodating. They’re always more than happy to cater to different dietary requirements. Great food at a great price!

The food is always hot, flavourful, and brought on time by friendly staff. Portion size is good. . Only the naans let them down. Garlic not garlicky, and peshwari very dry. Have ordered many times and would recommend.

The curries were lovely, as was the chicken pakora, however the Haggis pakora was greasy, soggy and tasteless. Delivery charge at £4.95 is ridiculous, as is the £2.50 service fee etc.

Delivery was on time, but the chicken passanda just tasted of chicken, didn’t look like chicken tikka just chicken breast despite paying extra for it and cream and spiced onions served in a bag was odd.

First time ordering from this place due to all the great reviews I read…. This was a MISTAKE. Ordered chicken tikka main, plus a chicken pakora and a garlic naan. The chicken pakora was well cooked I will say that but it was sssooo bland! Had to add salt myself and even at that it wasn’t great. The chicken tikka main was also bland! Everything was so pale!No taste or seasoning it seemed. The naan bread was also soggy. I’m sorry to be writing this as all the other reviews are great so it seems.

Rogan josh curry was very nice, perfectly cooked, garlic chapatti very good aswell.

Curry was delicious, rotis were alright, chips cheese and chicken tikka were absolutely inedible, tasted like the chips had been microwaved to reheat them. This will be my last order.

We had chicken bhuna, chicken rogan josh and garlic naan, which were great. However, the mushroom pakora was mainly batter, and not very good.

I've been regularly eating here for a few years now. Consistently delicious, tasty and fresh dishes on every visit. The buffet is very nice, and has a wide variety of dishes and great value for money. The menu has some very unique dishes, there are some stand out speciality lamb dishes - these are the most delicious and tasty meals you'll ever eat ... healthy portion sizes too. The restaurant is a long established Glasgow institution, ironically it's now a refreshing change from the more recent influx of Indian fusion and chain owned restaurants. Fantastic service, friendly helpful staff and very reasonably priced.

Used to frequent the New Anand every weekend in my younger years after a night out in Shawlands. 😜 New owners since my last visit but still amazing food and hosts. Says a lot when I no longer live round the corner but don't mind a wee travel to get there! Definitely recommend this place. 😁

The New Anand is how I remember Indian restaurants - the decor is a mixture of Rennie Macintosh and a minimalist scheme executed by the set designers of "Barbie" after a night on the razz. The exterior resembles the typical Victorian ferry buildings you find on the end of a pier- walking through the door is like stepping into your silver Delorean to find yourself emerging into the late 70's early 80's ... the menu is wonderfull with at least 2 versions of every curry you can name, they still give you popadoms and spicy onions to munch on as you attempt to navigate/decode a menu which would confound Alan Turing and the team at Bletchley Park however the food itself is utterly divine. Tandoori tikka mix is arrives sizzling and its big chunks of succulent fizzling chicken reeking of fresh herbs and spices. The korma ordered arrived as a hot dish of creamy brown heaven, medium sized chunks of chicken cooked perfectly in a smooth sweet coconut and spice sauce - not one single drop was left by the end. The fried rice was as full of flavor as it was colourful, and moist, despite a search no one single dry chunks stuck together could be found. Portions - outrageously generous, there is a buffet option (bain marie) which was gorgeously aromatic, fragrant and piping hot - numerous plates passed by bulging with an impressive mixture of utterly delicious helpings. The drinks were decent and affordable, from rose wine to a perfunctory range of spirits - for beer aficionados they do have the amber stuff chilled on draught. Visit often, enjoy the food, savour the moment, you will find New Anand a rare drama free oasis of calm - no loud people on phones taking plate pictures for their TikTok/Instagram/Meta followers here. Curry fans are strongly encouraged to take a trip Back to the Future before it is, one day, lost to the past. 5 Marty McFly stars Update - just as brilliant as Doc Brown's design for the flux capacitor, the dishes are as fresh as if they had just been delivered by a kid on hover board. Starter platter for two is highly recommended, as is any of the delicious vegetarian curries - best described as simple and superb. Update 4/24 reads exactly as above - 5 Groundhog Day stars

Been a regular here for several decades. A family favourite. Usually have the buffet which is great. Especially like the chicken chasni and chicken pakora. Staff always friendly. The front can get busy with deliveries these days though and now it spills over in to the restaurant. Depending on where you are seated this can spoil the atmosphere a bit as tables beside us were being used to bag up deliveries and drivers were coming in and out the seated part of the restaurant to collect. Waiters were dealing with both. Usually the front area is for take aways and it wouldn’t have been noticeable in the past. Hopefully a temporary problem.

Nice choice of dishes, we chose: Boiled Rice, Chips, Onion Bhaji, South Indian Garlic Chilli - Chicken Tikka, Saag Paneer, Puri - Chickpeas. The delivery took longer than the 'estimate' but it was night before new years eve, so it may have been pretty busy. Anyway, the food arrived hot and was delicious. Portion size was pretty large too.

Been going here for years and usually good. This time they delivered without poppadoms. I called and they said they were too busy to send them out and "couldn't" refund either. That they'd give free poppadoms next time. Not impressed.

Food was delicious would order again in the near future.

Unfortunately I found the food to be rather bland. The peshwari naan was decent, but the vegetable curry was rather flavourless and the onion bhaji, whilst a generous portion, a little dense. Sorry, not for me.

Can always rely on perfectly cooked fresh food. I can wholeheartedly recommend them. Pleasant delivery staff too.

This is a real little gem of a place.We went in early evening when not many customers were in so can't really comment on the atmosphere but the food was excellent and the staff attentive. We had the buffet which consisted of 5 or 6 different starters and about 10 curries to try. The Lamb Achari and the Beef Jalfrezi were outstanding with succulent pieces of tender meat in tasty, spicy sauces. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant and hope to return before my stay in Glasgow is over.

Gone sadly downhill. All three curries served in the same spicy, tomato plop, even though one was supposed to be a chef's special. Biryani, which they used to do quite decently, was multicoloured fried rice with some vegetables thrown on. I believe they've been taken over recently. Won't be back.

Harrassed all evening to hurry up eat and leave. Four of our family had the buffet and as soon as we sat down with our food the waiter hovered about us then kept coming up asking if we had finished when it was quite clear we weren't. . I could understand if they were busy but there was only two tables in use. A group of us go there for dinner every few months but that will be the last time.

I have been using this place for years and I now think it’s time for somewhere else now I always get a tandoori mixed grill and I’ve never had a bad one until tonight firstly the salad was awful the lettuce was brown and flimsy the tomato was soft and squishy the lemon was dried out then the grill was terrible the half tandoori chicken was so chuff it was like rubber so was the seekh kebab and the lamb and chicken kebab it was without a doubt inedible a complete waste of money and time going to get it . Sorry to say it but this is very off putting if this had been my first visit it certainly would have been my last and I think now it is my last visit seriously new anand you must do better to keep customers because without us you have no business a 100% required no less

A bit disappointing. Had mixed grill which was generally ok, although lamb a bit chewy. But the fish pakora wasn't good - very soggy and greasy, and no sauce with it. Not sure would try again

Haven't been here in a long time so I presume management is new. Food trays on buffet had no lids so sauce in curries etc were on the dry side. Once trays became low or empty, it was taking staff awhile to top up.

Didn't deliver my order but still marked it as delivered, then didn't respond to my request for an update. Poor show all in, requesting refund through just eat.

Was fine. Food hot on arrival. Chips come in a styrofoam box so beware they may be a bit sweaty.

Always great food and the best chicken pakora on the planet. Fast delivery too. A bit steep at a fiver though.

Waited over an hour and 25 mins for pakora. When it came it was luke warm and soggy.

Have dined in and had takeaways from here for years, always nice food. However, tonight there was a hair in the veg pakora and a bone in a piece of chicken pakora. It’s put me off going back.

Superb food! We had had some food from here on Christmas Eve at my sisters house and we didn’t think you guys delivered to where we stay but so so glad you do! We have enough food for tomorrow nights dinner too!

Chicken pakora was inedible and tasted off , vegetable pakora was also the same, the whole lot went in the bin. The batter on the pakora was extremely thick and it was extremely disappointing.

Really disappointed in the chapati and the chips both seemed very hard and stale. Also the chicken chaat was all over the bag when it arrived meaning the veg curry was covered in it which meant my partner and daughter couldn’t have it as they are vegetarian.

This food really hit the spot! They have a buffet, as well as an extensive menu with plenty of vegetarian options, as well as some choices you might not get at other Indian places. Service was good, and the restaurant was packed just moments after we arrived. Will be back!

Curry was all over the bag paid 40 pound for frozen food and not even half a curry wee boys fish fingers and chips were covered in curry sauce he can’t eat either not happy

Last time we ordered from here the food was great with loads of flavour. However this time, the korma didn’t taste like korma, had no flavour and the nan was cold and tasted like chemicals. Really disappointed as i was really pleased last time

Lovely food and it arrived much earlier than the estimated time, which was a bonus. Delicious dhal and saag paneer, generous portions. Enough for two meals..Will definitely order again.
