I am disabled which means I am almost completely blind and I also have some walking issues. However I am very independent and like to do things for myself. On the evening my husband and I visited the restaurant I went to the toilet by myself without any problem when I returned to the table one of the waiters came to our table and whispered in my ear as my husband was ordering some drinks “you madam may have one glass of wine with your dinner and no more, I’ve been watching you” we left straight away and I’m outraged and disgusted by this behaviour. Won’t ever return to this place. Very rud3 and ignorant

Decepcionado.

Living in France (for the time being) I crave authentic Indian food which is plentiful and varied in London where I have lived for 54 years. My son being at Glasgow University provides me with the excuse to travel North regularly and enjoy the huge diversity of restaurants that Glasgow offers. The Wee Curry Shop is simply sublime. The cooking is precise, the menu concise and the spicing as it should be! Small joint, only maybe thirty seats at a push which enables the very small kitchen to deliver great results. Halibut grilled with subtle spices and flavours was outstanding, the lamb with Fenugreek leaves was like nothing I had before and their butter chicken is just sooo yummy, one would have to eat it keeling down in reverence. In short, not one duff dish on the menu and more than fair bill. This place is packed and very much for the connoisseur. Highly recommended.

Superb wee Indian restaurant, hidden above Jinty McGuinty's on Ashton Lane. Try the Haggis pakora. It's incredible! As is the Butter Chicken. I ask them to add some chillies to it as it's not that spicy, but bu**er me with an ice-cold Kingfisher, it tastes gorgeous! 🤤 Staff are friendly and service is on point. Plus, there's a whole host of cracking bars literally on its doorstep. 👍

Average, overpriced curry's with lacking service. The food looked like it was either heated in the microwave or left in the pass for too long. Used to be one of my favourites but my most recent visit will be my last.

A recent trip to Glasgow had my family and friends list their favourite restaurants. The Wee Curry Shop was a two minute walk from my accommodation and easily located, since I only had to follow my nose. Three sit down meals and one take away over a four week period is indicative of my curiosity and total satisfaction with this outstanding establishment. The stairs are a bit tricky, but if you can't manage them for whatever reason send a friend up for takeaway. I particularly enjoyed NOT being asked if wanted "mild, medium or hot" dishes. I'm not a fan of chilli seasoning to generate heat. I also enjoyed top quality ingredients, including the outstanding Chicken Tikka Sashliqa and Lamb Maliadaar. One of the wait staff told me that he could eat the latter for breakfast, lunch and dinner - I would be pleased to join him as required! I also enjoyed finding essential ingredients whole in the servings - fresh chilli, green and black cardamons, cinnamon bark, cloves, and black pepper allied with the usual freshly ground and fried spice suspects. I couldn't resist the haggis pakoras. I found their special brand of spiciness worked wonderfully as a savoury starter. The chapatis and pilau rice are highly recommended too. Attentive and helpful wait staff (follow their recommendations if you are not sure) made for some really memorable nights. Glasgow has some outstanding restaurants, but if you like Northern Indian cuisine, this one is a wee cracker and not to be missed!

Had lunch here and tried the Thali menu which was delicious. Waiting staff attentive. I would have given this 5 stars but haven't as I requested at the end of the meal to have the full portion of rice and one chapati to take home. This was refused apparently due to it being a Thali meal. As a person who dislikes waste I was a bit taken aback. I've never had a problem taking leftover curry home with any other curry establishment.

Quite a small menu, but this is not really a bad thing. The starters were fantastic. Very hot and tasty. The curries were extremely delicious, albeit not very spicy. I did ask for it spiced up a little, which they did no problem. The naan bread was very good. The only thing I didn't really like was the poppadoms. They weren't particularly crispy and there wasn't much mango chutney to go with them.

For starters we shared the mushroom and chilli pakora which was delicious. I'd definitely order this again. For the main I got the tomato paneer (I'm vegetarian) and asked for it extra spicy. It was tasty and filling when paired with garlic naan and rice (both shared with everyone at the table). The others at the table ordered chicken dishes and all enjoyed them.

There are a lot of curry houses in Glasgow to put it mildly. How does one stand out from the rest ? Is this the best - no. Is it expensive - definitely not, considering it's location. Not the cheapest either. However, if you want a good old regular Indian meal then this is as good as the rest of them, no more no less. Our personal view, we thought their basic curry base was too similar in the dishes that we ordered and what they considered "hot" was not particularly chilli. Don't get us wrong, we're not saying don't visit. If you're in the area, give it a try.

Visited as a work night out, food was delicious- as usual, good authentic cooking, staff were lovely and very attentive, you pay corkage and bring your own bottle which was great. Would definitely go back again. Love all the photos and the quirkyness inside, it’s like sitting in a living room! Which is brilliant!

Found this gem for an after cinema meal, loved the small but original menu, friendly service and reasonable prices!

Chicken pakora was undercooked. And strangely comes as part vegetable pakora. The South Indian garlic chilli chicken was tasteless and watery. The waiter agreed. Shocked to be asked to pay the full bill. It was the worst Indian meal we have ever had.

Phoned ahead to enquiry if table available for around 7.45pm on what was a busy day in the area with St Patrick’s day celebrations.Gentleman member of staff invited us down saying they would make room for us even though it was busy.Actually on route in car staff tried to phone us but phone on silent to say tables had become free.Arrived and staff very welcoming.Food was excellent, service superb and staff extremely accommodating.Would definitely recommend.

Our first visit to The Marigold cafe and it won’t be our last. It’s a beautiful cosy restaurant and the food was amazing. Full of flavour and the portions were a great size. It’s so nice to be able to have so many gluten free options on a menu. The fact it’s dog friendly is an added bonus. Service was excellent. Can’t wait to return again.

Good food, decent quantity Had biryani & momos Momos - felt like it could have been slightly more steamed so that the coating might have been even softer Biryani was just okayish! Service & atmosphere could have been better! A friendly interaction with a smile would have been overwhelming !!
