My Dad & I went to Arundel Restaurant at Northbrook College for lunch just over a week ago for the first time. We were instantly greeted & seated by Penny. The restaurant is immaculately clean, chairs were very comfortable & tables were nicely presented - all cutlery was laid out the same distance apart etc. Arundel restaurant do kindly offer alternatives if you don't eat meat or have allergies etc. We emailed Penny to say neither of us eat meat (we're pescatarians) so Penny informed us that our main would be Haddock Florentine. I apologised to Penny that I somehow initially missed seeing the email re letting her know about alternatives & so I only replied 2 days before our booking, but they were still able to accommodate this, of which we were really grateful. A young lady called Crystal came straight over to introduce herself & offer us water. Then another young lady came over very quickly to take our drinks order & she brought them over after a few minutes, but actually apologised for the delay! We knew there were 12-15 people at the bar at the time, so we actually thought it was very quick considering! We were then very prompty given some bread rolls too. For starters, we had the Cream of Cucumber & the Fish Goujons. The Cream of Cucumber came out very hot, which Crystal did warn us about this a couple of times. We both thought it was great the kitchen was getting food out to so many people still piping hot! The Cucumber was very tasty. The Fish Goujons were delicious - crispy costing & the tartare sauce is the nicest one we've ever tasted. The salad was very fresh. Our Haddock Florentine was brought out with a side dish of rice & vegetables; the rice was cooked perfectly. The vegetables were very fresh & still had a bit of a crunch to them. The Haddock was incredibly tasty! The fish was falling apart & the cheese sauce & spinach were absolutely delicious. Again, this was piping hot & we were warned about this a couple of times when our dishes were brought out. For dessert we both had the Dark Chocolate Bavarois with caramelised oats & raspberry couli. This was absolutely divine! The chocolate was rich & very smooth, the couli was really delicious & wasn't too tart & the oats added a nice contrast of something a bit crunchy as the chocolate is soft. All dishes were brought out promptly & with generous portions. The service was quite quick & food was brought out very hot. All of the staff were lovely, friendly, professional, very pleasant & always had a smile on their face. Crystal in particular was attentive, very polite & a lovely young woman. In-between courses, Crystal came over to brush any crumbs off the table; we were impressed with the attention to detail - we've been to a few fine dining restaurants & none of them have done this. All 3 courses were £15pp including a tea or coffee at the end, so this is exceptional value. The food & service were fantastic & we'll definitely go again soon. I highly recommend going if you haven't already.

We come here frequently to have a really lovely dining experience, this time was a Christmas meal, I have fishcakes to start, Christmas Dinner and pavalova as a dessert For the price you can't get anything anywhere else, I highly recommend the food and your supporting the students There is set days Tuesday and Thursdays, either at lunchtime or evenings, we came in the evening, you need to be there for 6.30 for the service to finish, you'll be there until at least 8 o'clock, understandably service is slow as there students but your there for the whole dining experience and much cheaper than any other restaurant so be prepared for the slow service, but you will be looked after and have a lovely time. Please do support our future waiter's/waitress and chefs in there step on the catering ladder

We booked the "Meal & Theatre" deal with a group of friends and had a lovely evening. Run by college students the restaurant was welcoming, waiting staff attentive & friendly and the food was all really nicely presented & tasted great. A choice of 3 main courses and two desserts, with tea/coffee for £10 set price. Extensive drinks menu to order from separately. Gluten free and vegetarian was catered for. The restaurant was full which says it all. It was a little bit rushed at the end to get us out in time for the show but not a problem. And the show was great too! Well done to the College for running this restaurant so well.

It was our first visit to the Arundel restaurant and we enjoyed it. It is part of a restaurant training college course and the young waiters and waitresses did well as it was full up so quite busy. There is a bar selling beer, wine and soft drinks. They do a set menu on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. You need to check if they are doing lunch or dinner on the day you want to go. The menu was very good and everything was nicely presented and was very reasonably priced for 3 courses. There were no children dining on the night we were there.

Hadn't been for a while, as we felt the menu was getting repetitive, which I fully understand when students are training to cook and serve. This Christmas visit was lovely, felt a completely new experience with the choices. Our waitress was very bubbly and friendly, still learning but huge potential. Part of the experience is to give feedback to the students - be positive, they are doing a great job, remember to sandwich your feedback, good feedback, learning advice and more feedback. Keep these guys and girls enthusiastic.

Visited with a group. Good choice of food but the fish main spoilt by being served with mushy Pak choi, steamed or boiled whole! I noticed other diners left this on their plates also. Thank you for the excellent service and the brown rolls were delicious.☺ I'm sure we'll make a return visit.

Superb teamwork led by a professionals enables catering students at this college to prepare and serve outstanding food at a very reasonable price. If you are happy to encourage and support young people ,beginning their careers in catering or hospitality. this is a place not to be missed! It certainly gave us great pleasure to find our waiter, who started rather nervously, soon relaxed and it was great to get a warm friendly smile. We found there was an exciting choice of dishes on the three course lunchtime menu. As an indicator of the high standards vegetables cooked and served to al dente perfection.

The restaurant is based in the college with the students waiting on customers as part of their course of study. They can be nervous and even make mistakes, but you go to the restaurant with this understanding. The students try so hard and are ably managed by tutors. The food is fantastic and very brilliant value considering the very high quality. Definitely will be going back.

It has been over two years since I ate lunch at the restaurant in Northbrook College and like the last time, was really impressed. There has been a great many changes not only to the College but the restaurant as well over this period - new furniture, redesign of the restaurant and table layouts. The last time I went it was also for a Christmas lunch so when the group I belong to suggested we go to Northbrook College for our Christmas lunch this year was more than eager to taste the food again! I certainly was not disappointed. There were 14 of us and we had all pre-ordered our food but skillfully all three courses were presented to us all at the same time, the food on all our plates looked good enough to eat (and it was!) with more than enough hot vegetables to go around. Everyone involved with the restaurant are students learning their trade - as this was the first term silver service had not been taught but book next term and they will be applying their skills! Three courses plus coffee and a mince pie for £18.00 - what is there not to like! The food was excellent, on a par with many good restaurants in Worthing, the service was attentive even if things like serving spoons were forgotten! That is to be expected - everyone has to learn and I would recommend anyone wanting an excellent meal, served by students who want to achieve to book in advance and try for yourselves - you won't be disappointed.

40 of us took over the whole restaurant. It has been reorganised since last year and for the better. The waiters were all but one dressed identically and looked good. Menu was excellent as far as my choices were concerned but a few chose something they did not realise that it would be pink inside. Drinks were relatively inexpensive and the whole cost including our contribution to student funds totally inexpensive. If you enjoy being looked after by students, the future of our tourist industry, them this is the place for you.

We booked the Arundel restaurant for the 2 nd of March and on recommendation and what a pleasent lunch time 3 course meal with coffee and mints we had, this establishment is part of the Worthing college with the meals cooked by student/trainee chefs and waited on by students who are going into the hospitality business. Under the supervision of head chef and tutors these young people are going a long way. The silver service was above more that we expected with an excellent menu choice to suite. You need to book a few weeks in advance as Numbers are limited to allow tutors to supervise students. takE our word and try this establishment.

Our club makes an annual visit and we all dress up as if it was a five star establishment as this is where many of the students hope to go after achieving their qualifications. The venue itself is excellent with a good car park and once you settle into the bar after walking through a very active and mixed college you realise this. The students serve the drinks, take the meal orders and serve the three course meal (under silver salvers with each table served simultaneously. Other students prepare the food behind the scenes. You are warned that your choice of three items a course may have already been allocated to others in your party as they are an educational establishment and do not have the budget to cater for waste but we have never found this a problem. There is always a staff supervisor to help in case of problems (and the mark the students!). They are open for lunch during term time on Wednesdays and Fridays and dinner on Thursdays. Lunch is less than £13 an head and we always make a donation to student funds and ask all the students including those in the kitchen to assemble in the dining room for thanks at the end. It is so popular in our club that we now have two events a year to accommodate all. If you accept the concept you will have an excellent time. It will take reservations for small numbers, possible only two. Note that the stars take into account that it is a college.

Had a lovely evening at the Arundel Room Restaurant with friends. It is a training restaurant and the standards are kept very high. The service was friendly and efficient and the food excellent value at £16.00 for a three course meal including appetisers and coffee. All courses were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Good menu choices. Only gripe that at such a place there must be some fantastic artwork that could adorn the walls! Definitely highly recommended.

We ate at the Arundel Restaurant. situated in Northbrook College, for our second christmas get together.£15 for three courses, finished with coffee and mints. All the food is prepared, cooked and served by the resident students, overseen by professional chefs and silver service waiting staff. We started with seared tuna with egg and capons, which was beautifully presented. Mains was salmon with a prawn sauce, smashed new potatoes with mince, and accompanied by seasonal veg. Dessert was walnut steamed pudding with a heavenly sauce.I would defy anyone to visit the restaurant, and not come away thinking this is high class restaurant standard food. I had to pinch myself to believe this delicious meal only cost £15!!

I was down from London, staying in Worthing with my bestie for the weekend. We had a table booked for Sunday lunch. The staff and service were fabulous. The food, Fish and Chips and the additional trimmings was just delicious, the presentation amazing. The portion sizes are a fantastic added bonus. As soon as I arrive in Worthing, my friend books us a table purely because your restaurant is second to none! We are never disappointed. The food is so lovely I'm spoilt by it. There's no comparison in London! Extra compliments to head chef Jimmy. Congratulations on your food sir. Well done to the whole team. Thank you from Rose and Dee for our beautiful lunch. See you again soon!

Disappointed with the meal as everything was very dry and overcooked. Unfortunately it’s not the first time we have not been happy here. Will definitely give it a miss for a while in the hope it will improve. The restaurant wasn’t even busy. Previous occasion was the food didn’t come out warm enough despite meals being sent back twice. Again restaurant wasn’t busy at all. Yes we did receive money off last time for our complaints but it just ruins our experience and isn’t any consolation really. Let’s hope things get better as I would really want that being that you’re just round the corner from where I live.

After a busy day at work I needed a good dinner so remembering my last visit I made a bee-line to Thieves. I had a Cheese & Bacon Burger (beef patty with beechwood-smoked streaky bacon, Barber's 1833 Vintage Cheddar, coleslaw and lettuce, served in a seeded bun) totally delicious. Although the patty was a small, thin thing it had plenty of flavour and it didn’t seem too thin like in other places I’ve been to. It tasted great with the cheese and coleslaw, and good bacon. I didn’t know about the ‘£14 burger and a beer’ offer when I came in, and the beer I ordered originally wasn’t in that offer, but the very friendly and helpful barman informed me and suggested a beer that was in the offer, I took his recommendation and have no regrets about it! Good customer service there Thieves, wish I knew his name to give a shout-out here
