Booked here for a group booking. With a week before our booking, and preorders are in, all starter options were removed, so for a 2 course meal, you had to have to dessert. And at the same time, the other dessert options were removed. C'mon guys, pull some strings and make something happen

Room was very nice, very chic although quite dusty. Minibar was excellent with really high quality snacks and supplies. There seemed to be some kind of night club downstairs which isn't ideal for a hotel but we slept far enough away from it that it wasn't much of an issue. My main problem was that we called the front desk over a dozen times in half an hour and no one ever picked up the phone. When we arrived the door was locked and again no one was at reception for a while. We eventually figured out that it was possible to gain every via the bar/cafe next door and did that, but that's not the kind of detective work you want to be doing in the middle of the night.

Staying at this boutique hotel made our trip to Bristol even more special. This city is full of culture and art. Home of Banksy you can spot many of his works out n about. This hotel is full of art to peak your imagination and taste. Our room upgrade made our stay excellent. If you wanna take advantage of nice perks download Tablet app. We took advantage of the lovely tub and room service. The products for use are very good. They have bubble bath provided which is one of my favorites. They make a wonderful Turmeric Oat Latte with organic agave. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable,& extremely helpful. There are other locations of this boutique hotel in other areas of the UK we are definitely going to try the Oxfordshire and Brighton locations soon. Thank you for our perfect stay. This place is also pup friendly, Five stars isn’t enough 🤎

A home away from home! I was fortunate enough to stumble upon this hotel and it is an absolute gem. Beautiful, unfussy welcoming design throughout, delightful rooms but most of all utterly charming staff. Elfie and Savanna (I apologise for almost certainly spelling their names incorrectly!) were so warm, friendly and helpful, they made the whole experience sing. I will be back!

Such a cute room. Quirky and cool. Coffee, filtered water in the room was a great touch. My only negative is the location. Make sure you know it’s a long walk from the train station if that’s important to you. And it’s not a pretty walk either (lots of graffiti and empty office buildings).

Used to go to cafe/restaurant quite often as it’s a convenient central location during the week. Every visit, unfortunately I’d leave feeling deflated and quite frustrated, so I’ve decided to take my business elsewhere now, life is just too short to waste energy and money on things that leave a bad taste. It’s such a shame because on the surface this place has all the right ingredients. The staff seem to live in a world of their own where the customer is an inconvenience at best, and at worst, completely invisible. It feels like no one is in charge and everyone is improvising. It’s often hard to get any table service at all, and when someone does arrive, service tends to be excruciatingly slow and confused (several staff dealing with one table, lost orders, wrong orders….). I’ve been here several times over two years and would have become a loyal long-term customer but like I said, life is too short.

I rented the Blue Room for a birthday party and it was an amazing, cool venue. All my guests loved it. We had a delicious selection of food and our own bar for the party. All the staff were very helpful and made my evening a really memorable one. Thanks to everyone for helping me to organise this event and for ensuring everything went smoothly on the night.

I recently stayed at Artist Residence Bristol and had a very disappointing experience. I asked the receptionist for a late checkout availability, and she agreed to give me an extra 2 hours. When I was checking out, I asked for a statement, but they didn't provide one because they said there were no charges. However, a week later, I found a charge of $51 on my credit card. This unexpected charge for the late checkout, which was not communicated to me at the time, is completely unacceptable. The lack of transparency and communication from the staff was frustrating, and the surprise charge feels dishonest. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience. Be cautious of unexpected charges and poor communication.

The best thing about this hotel is the rooms. Finished off so well with style and character. Some interesting art of the walls throughout. Beautiful bathrooms although the water was t that hot when came for a bath. Some nice cocktails in the bar downstairs. Lovely staff on reception.

Quite shocked by how poor my experience was for breakfast. Very few other tables around, and lots of staff, but extremely slow service. When my brunch of french toast did arrive I wasn't impressed by the portion size - a single slice of toast? For £11?? With greek yoghurt served on top so it turned to liquid and a smattering of berries. Dealt with a number of staff and not one asked how we were doing either. Really very bad, and such a shame for such a nice setting. No wonder there was hardly anyone there for brunch.

I stopped by the bar on my way back to my Airbnb. Nia took fantastic care of me during my visit. I had the pleasure of getting to watch her train a fellow coworker behind the bar. It was such a delight to watch someone train with care and natural talent. Invest in her, she was fantastic.

Some friends had stayed in Artists Residence in London and loved it so we were excited to stay at the Bristol hotel. The design is cute, going for that shabby look, and it could have worked so well, but this hotel took shabby vibe to actually shabby. Windows were old and loose and banged all night, light switches were loose and didn’t work and the room smelt terribly of damp. Then there was the cleanliness. Our room was filthy, in fact the whole hotel was grimy and dusty. We get the concept, and it could be great, but a hotel should at least be functional and clean. In the plus side the towels are nice, but that feels like faint praise.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Artist Residence Bristol. We loved the eclectic decor and the relaxed vibe throughout. Our twin room was spotlessly clean, with some really gorgeous attentions to detail. Friendly staff who made us feel very welcome and a definite change to the usual soul-less hotel experience. Lovely meal and drinks in the hotel bar and restaurant. Not an obvious location, but close to Gloucester Road for some cool shopping and a stones throw in an Uber to the Clifton area. Highly recommend, we will be back and keen to check out their other locations.

Dropped into the bar around 7pm on a Saturday. It was steady not busy and there was about five members of staff floating. We ordered drinks for four of us and realised we'd been waiting for 25 mins. We had a dinner reservation elsewhere so we tried chasing our drinks but the waitress said there was a problem with the printer and that she had something else to do so we cancelled the drinks and left. Won't bother returning. Independents all the way.

Everything about the Artist Residence is just lovely-the bar area is great for drinks (they do an excellent Dirty Martini) and the food is also brilliant-the Turkish Eggs are delicious. A great place to sit and work or go for a meeting too.

The place is gorgeous, no doubt. I only sat in that beautiful shiny bar for a couple of drinks on a Saturday afternoon but I was kind of wowed. Situated only a stone's throw from Bristol's legendary Cosies wine bar, I was just sitting there thinking that if you were staying here as a guest, it would be a very convenient place to stumble back to. And then I had a flashback. It was 2011, the night of the London riots. My brother was visiting Bristol from Brighton for some kind of Eco/community workshop. We went to Cosies and then ended up staying in this very building which, at the time, was a really well organised squat. There were about 30 of us staying that night, crowded around a TV which was running off hijacked electricity. Some people thought it was the start of the revolution but it was possibly one of the scariest nights of my life, I barely slept a wink. The next morning, trying to leave, I found myself confronted by a massive barricade on the front door so couldn't get out until someone woke up and showed me how to dismantle it. I wandered round the huge empty space and ended up taking some photos. As you can see, this place really does have a bit of history.

Went for breakfast in a Sunday morning as we’d stayed overnight nearby. We hadn’t booked but there was availability and were given a choice of two remaining tables. We both had the full breakfast, a juice and a cuppa tea. Service was efficient and friendly. The breakfast was very good and passed the sausage test (good quality sausage goes a long way!) the decor is beautifully quirky and the vibe is relaxed. Definitely would recommend and would return, would like to try lunch or evening meal another time.

When waking into a place like this in an area like this, it’s easy to make assumptions about the menu, the decor, the clientele, the prices etc., and first impressions would be right on every front. But that doesn’t matter. So much thought has gone into making this space aesthetically impressive, from the toilet cubicles to the ceramic choices, that it really is a lovely place to spend time. And most importantly, our food was excellent. I loved my full breakfast and other selections (veggie breakfast, pancakes, granola) were equally well received. I haven’t lived in Bristol for over a decade now so I have no idea as to which areas are changing and how but it was really nice to see a business this interesting in an area I would not normally have looked at visiting.

A relatively recent opening just off Portland Square, this is just a stone’s throw from the Cabot Circus shopping centre and well worth taking the short stroll to get here rather than enduring the bland, generic chain offerings that one will find there. Located in a former boot factory, it’s quite impressive architecturally with a double height atrium above the bar counter letting in plenty of light and a generally relaxed vibe to it. Décor wise it’s a bit eclectic perhaps, and might be described as shabby chic, but it’s very pleasant and the staff were friendly and helpful. The menu offered a reasonably concise selection of dishes, with around half a dozen options for the main course as well as a similar number of pizzas. I opted for the Buttermilk fried Korean chicken burger with pickles, slaw and fries. This was a decent and tasty dish with a generous hunk of chicken, a lovely soft coating and a decent slaw. The chips were enormous, I’m not sure when a chip simply becomes a chunk of potato, but these must have been perilously close to the latter. Not that I’m complaining, just an observation. They were well cooked and fluffy inside, but personally I’d have preferred a crispier coating. Across the table, the “Sweet Heat” with pepperoni, spicy honey, mozzarella and tomato was also well received. Overall, I really liked it here despite it’s slightly unlikely location. Well worth checking out.

DO NOT EAT HERE. Genuinely the worst food i’ve ever eaten. Had a taste of each thing and left. Prawns were frozen in the middle. Felt immediately sick. Seriously don’t bother getting any food from here

Scallops for starter, Lidl sell bigger ones they tasted ok but were micro sized. Lamb shank for main course presentation was great but plate was cold. Potato not cooked parts were raw. Lamb was dry. Not a great event. Would I return? No.

Usually satisfied with the quality of the coffees and customer service but the last two visits have been very poor. The women on the counter (who was there the last two times) came across as tired and fed up - it was 07:00. We ordered a large cappuccino with sugar. She served us with the coffees without the sugar and with an unfilled large coffee. Being served with an unfriendly face and the low quality and even quantity of the coffees was highly disappointing.
