Fantastic espresso martini made by Italian Sam - he said he’d make the best in Bristol and it was pretty good! Big praise from me 🤩

the breakfast menu is absolutely worth the money (about 12-15£ per main!) i enjoyed the lobster benedict, though yes as you would imagine the lobster tail is tiny. the flavours were great though! the steak used for the steak and eggs was the lean sort, but it was still cooked to be quite juicy

Beautiful place and a pleasure to go there, however, Service needs to be more attentive as we were continually waiting to order or re-order. The meals were OK in the main but one in the party had Chicken Schnitzel which was very dry and inedible as were the chips that came with it. The waiter asked if our meals were ok and the one in the party with the problem meal stated that his meal was very dry, little or no notice was taken and he willingly took back the full plate of food without another word! I fully expected to see some sort of discount on the bill but none, so we paid and left, not a great experience, have been there before and food has been fine, not in the least outstanding and the service never changes, perhaps a change in management? Doubt we will go again sadly as we love the ambience.

Having had one or two nice brunches here, we decided to meet friends for lunch. We didn’t have starters as such but had a hot crusty loaf with oil and balsamic vinegar to share which was very nice. Main courses were blade of beef twice and a seafood linguine, all of which were enjoyed. However my chicken schnitzel was quite another matter. Instead of being soft and juicy the chicken was well overcooked and as a result was as dry as a bone and completely unappetising. I did bring this to the attention of the waiter who seemed less than interested but eventually offered to replace it. An offer I declined as when you are with friends it spoils the whole rhythm of the meal. I tried to eat it but most went back untouched. Desserts were acceptable and my friend was very pleased with his plum and apple crumble. I left disappointed with my meal and felt that some token such as a gratis dessert or just a coffee as recognition of my inedible main course would have been appropriate. But nothing. I certainly won’t be ordering the schnitzel again. It should be the easiest dish on the menu to cook, but was very badly executed.

My friend and I went for a bottomless brunch. The service was great and the food was beautiful.

Front of house are wonderful . Food is great . Unfortunately a real issue with unavailable dishes and food recognition Spot the difference between sausage and stuffing .

Disappointed 😞 I specifically said on a recent call it was my friends birthday and no special mention of this during our afternoon tea. The afternoon tea was good, and the service was okay.

Not much to say, everything was perfect.

The food is quite good, the portions vary quite a lot, the fish and chips is a large portion but others are quite small so you may want a desert or starters added on. The drinks are nice, including the free drinks offered by their free vip service. It was quite easy to get the attention of staff and they were all helpful and friendly. The building is clean and tidy with old designs and artistic patterns around. The tables are spaced out and there was very few people there in the weekday evening. It is a bit more expensive than average restaurants but Brown's is more higher class. Worth a visit for special occasions.

This is a great place, service excellent. The food was good and the decor and building just very special. We had set menu which was plenty for a lunch. There is an al acatre menu. Enjoyable.

Great venue. Menu choices limited due to out of stock (it happens). Scallops cold and poorly presented on plate (more of thrown together, very salty.) . Sirloin on the bone, potentially under portion, not a problem but steak extremely tough, not a good cut. Very disappointing outcome for a looked forward to meal. Number of guests found food too salty. An off day looking at the reviews but sadly a non enjoyed meal. Staff/ service good.

I loved the fried mozzarella as a starter. The main course (miso salmon) although decent was not very memorable. The service and vibe was very nice.

We were a very large group, over 90 people. You managed to get everyone served quickly and accurately and with hot food, which is quite an achievement. Your staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. Everyone really enjoyed it.

We were a large party of 20 people -everything from first inquiry to the event itself was managed in the utmost professional manner with advice and reassurance re special dietary requirements and the setting laid out beautifully.Food was amazing and excellent value ,very attentive staff ,with a special treat for the star guest provided by the restaurant. Stunning building to have lunch. We opted for the 2 course lunch menu. The portion size was so generous and the taste was on point. Would recommend coming for a nice formal meal or a celebration

Good food, service was polite but would skip over people during ordering, kept missing things from the plate and it was a long wait to get anything to the table.

We were visiting Bristol as part of relocating my daughter to law school here. A friend from Scotland traveled down to join celebrating her Birthday. We passed the location and looked up the restaurant and everything looked wonderful. And it was, the food, the staff, the atmosphere.... All wonderful

Sadly disappointed by the food very overpriced and overrated but I must say Zoe was an excellent host very accommodating I must take a moment to commend the exceptional service provided by our waitress, Zoe . From the moment we were seated, she greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive; she offered insightful recommendations and was attentive to our dietary preferences. Throughout our meal, Zoe checked in on us at just the right moments, ensuring that our drinks were filled and that we had everything we needed without being intrusive. What truly stood out was her genuine enthusiasm and positive attitude, which added to the overall dining experience. She handled a busy section with grace and efficiency, making sure that every table received the same level of care and attention. She truly was brilliant

Me and my family had lunch on Sunday, and I must say that the Sunday roast was superb!!!!the atmosphere was nice and the staff very friendly.

What a super spot to have supper at if visiting Bristol. Sophie who looked after us was really professional, friendly and gave good recommendations and made our evening. Steak was cooked perfectly, sides were delicious and wine choice was excellent. Would recommend if you need good food and great ambience.

Had an 80 th birthday lunch for 12in their private room jus to right of entrance. All of their wonderfully diverse staff were brilliant. Highly recomended

Spent a wonderful evening at Browns Brasserie with my family celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Service and food was amazing, and our lovely waitress Andrea arranged a special gesture with our desserts congratulationing us. (A board with Happy Anniversary written in icing/cream and 2 profiteroles).

I stopped by Browns after seeing it from a bus on my way to tour Clifton Bridge. It absolutely proved to be the right place to chill after a long day, visiting Bristol. The place is exceptionally well looked after. The staff, ladies, you were warm, friendly, and welcoming. A must visit highly recommend in Bristol.

I went there with my friends for a coffee. I was immediately impressed with the entire interior decor and layout. It creates a very nice atmosphere and the music at the right volume contributes even more. The service was very good and always with a smile. Very good experience and I would like to repeat it.

I was kicked out of the restaurant for no reason. When I was trying to get a dinner table, the staff kept saying that I would like to order drinks. After trying to clarify myself several times, she said she didn’t understand and asked me to repeat it again and again. It felt like she was gaslighting me. The restaurant was quite full on that day. When I looked around at the other customers in the restaurant, they were all white. Bristol is a multicultural city. I wonder if my Chinese ethnicity played a role in my treatment. For your information, I have been studying and working in London for over 15 years. (Further information: The incident occurred on August 11 at around 6 PM. I am quite sure all the waiters were white British, while the kitchen may have had staff of other ethnicities, which is a common practice in some restaurants in the UK and Europe.)

Browns has probably the best fish and chips,definitely will come back.

Arrived a bit later without booking a table….they were very accommodating, we had a table straight away! Service as a bit slow even though it seemed very quiet….ended up having our mains served before our starters… server was very apologetic. Meal was delicious and good value for money. Lovely cheeky cocktail too!

Sunday lunch with an old friend, food was overall great, roast pork and crackling yum, cod dish lovely. My friend felt the sundae looked nice but was ordinary. My sticky pudding was delicious but needed more sauce or cream. We were charged for bottled water which was assumed to be plain tap water. However the manager listened and removed the charge- good response 👏🏿 👏🏿

Have been visiting for over 20 years. The staff are always very professional and friendly, the atmosphere, building, interior and outside space is all lovely! Definitely one of our favorite spots for a drink in Bristol.

Had such a lovely evening at Browns in Bristol. They catered amazingly for me as a celiac and I had a gorgeous steak and asparagus starter. Our server was Matt and he was excellent, really enjoyed the evening thanks to him :) will be back!

From start to finish, Browns provided a spectacular experience. Thanks to Bethen, who showed us to our table promptly. Our food was fantastic, brought to us by efficient and friendly staff (Jasmine?). Our server, Zoe, went above and beyond to ensure my cousins graduation was made to be memorable. The food was delicious, compliments to the chefs! Would defo return for celebrations or otherwise! Divine place to dine, worth the extra bucks! Thank you to everyone at Browns.

Took a party of 18 for a family gathering before a wedding the next day - everything exceeded my expectations and everyone was absolutely delighted with everything. Can't do better than that!

Lovely restaurant, disabled flat access to the side of the building. The food was amazing my only two negative points here are that it's a bit on the pricey side the portion side is not great but the quality and service is exceptional. So I would have to say you get what you pay for an incredible meal. Personally I would always prefer quality over quantity and price. We celebrated a very special occasion here and the staff went out of there way to make us feel special This is the best customer service I have ever received. Thank you browns oh and by the way the veggie burger is fabulous too.

Last experience years ago of this restaurant wasn't great, tried it again today (impromptu visit for dessert), sat down and ordered 2 desserts and a cocktail. Waited a while, only to be told desserts were not available, cocktail came out which I sent back as it ruined the experience. You would expect a place like this to run out of food!

We had a delicious meal at Brownes last night to celebrate my daughters 30th the venue was amazing the food was so delicious and the staff were all very friendly and attentive special mention to Zoe who was really helpful with organising dietary requirements and the cake we all had a wonderful evening will definitely visit again

Went to browns for bottomless brunch for my birthday. Disappointed they wouldn’t swap the salmon for bacon and charged me extra for bacon. Service on the drinks were slow and were left with glasses empty for a while. Just overall a bit meh. Was nice to sit outside in the sun. But won’t be going back for bottomless for sure! Wasn’t good value for money.

We celebrated our first year anniversary at Browns on 29/06/24! We were offered the best sun facing table as per our choice by Alex, who ensured we were comfortable and well looked after! Alex and Eliza were very kind and lovely, they recommended us with delicious lunch options, suiting our occasion and taste buds! Eliza suggested us the best, luscious and refreshing dessert (ice cream sundae) to mark our occasion! Both were enthusiastic and professional, friendly and smiling, easy to approach and converse, great at choices and recommendations!
