Wonderful place beautiful grounds

Was there with a group of 16 pax. Cafe staff couldn't be more helpful, juggling our orders and food with aplomb. Ordered black americano with extra shot. No extra charge like most other places. Venue clean and tidy, toilets were immaculate. Highly recommended.

Solo quiero llamar la atención sobre el trabajo de KWAG (King's Weston Action Group) que produce un boletín mensual en línea que no solo registra el trabajo que están haciendo para restaurar la finca a su condición original, sino que también destaca la investigación sobre la historia de King's Weston House y sus antiguos habitantes.

Excelentes huevos escalfados en tostadas con tocino ahumado. El mejor desayuno en esta zona. Gran oferta de café y té. Personal amable. Preciosa ubicación también.

This is not a House for public visitation. Just a cafe with open area. Googled for somewhere to visit locally- stately home and this place cropped up. The website isn't up and running so one would assume it's a House open to the public. Wasted morning going there, ended up having a cuppa and leaving

I was attending a wake here. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Obviously the decor is outstanding and beautiful. They also provided the catering which again was excellent.

We have been to this cafe 2 weekend ls in a row now . The wait for the hot drinks is ridiculous a few youngsters attending to them and the manager spoke to them pretty poorly !!

Enjoyed the visit to this beautiful property. The grounds are well connected with ample different routes to walk too! The cafe serves excellent coffee and cakes with a good selection of lunch options. Croc-monsueir was delicious.

Hace unos años, el café estaba lleno de dueños de perros, y perros, a dar un paseo temprano por la mañana - aproximadamente 7. 30 - y desviándose a la cafetería para un buen café y un rollo de tocino. El olor a tocino era imposible de ignorar. La puerta nunca se cerró correctamente y ese era el único inconveniente, congelarse de las corrientes de aire en el invierno. Ahora, el café abre después de que el negocio de la mañana temprano se ha ido a otro lugar (el café Blaise se empaca y vende butties de tocino, etc.) , y la selección de alimentos, pasteles, etc., está bien, pero limitado. Abra antes y restaure el tocino y los desayunos cocinados y las multitudes regresarán. El café tiene un gran potencial, el café sigue siendo muy bueno. El servicio fue muy agradable hace una semana más o menos. . . pero . . traer de vuelta el tocino!

Wonderful winter walk, optional short loop or a longer route depending how much you wish to stretch your legs in the winter weather. Beautiful vistas of the surrounding countryside and the house up the wooded avenue up to the grotto. Also great food from the cafe including pies, sausage rolls and of course cake!

Haven't been here for a while and wow the cafe is great and very trendy ... ordered a bacon sandwich after time slot but they went out of their way to make it anyway . ...

Gran café aquí y los bocadillos tostados y pasteles que se ofrecen son muy sabrosos y bien presentados. Un blanco plano es £ 3. 20 y un gran café con leche helado £ 3. 80 , así que los precios son correctos. El personal es educado y amable y operan un servicio de mesa, por lo que traerá su comida a su mesa ... un montón de mesas al aire libre ahora. Creo que están trabajando en ampliar la cocina para ofrecer más comidas, pero por ahora, lo que ofrecen es excelente. Es un café muy conocido por los paseadores de perros y sirven bien para caniches también ... un montón de cuencos de agua afuera y golosinas para perros se pueden comprar en el café también. Grapevine dice que eventualmente habrá un restaurante en KWH. ¡No puedo esperar!

I come up here all the time. It's a five minute walk from where I live. It's idea for walking,running, bringing the dog, has some amazing views from different angles of the river Avon. There is a cafe in the basement, with toilets. It's also a wedding venue. Parking outside the house, and the shire side of the grounds by shire golf course. It's also possible now to walk across the iron bridge which is now open and this eventually leads to Blaise castle. There's a lot to explore.

The building is beautiful, and the cafe has views to Avonmouth and Portbury. Walked from Kingweston House to Blaise Castle, truly stunning.

Went to the coffee shop, nice tea and cake they, stop serving food (other than cake) from 3pm unfortunately so couldn't have a sandwich. Nice grounds and interesting view over Avonmouth.

Realmente quiero que este lugar tenga éxito porque es una gran parada para tomar café en un paseo de perros desde Blaise. Lamentablemente el café era débil y tibio y había una selección lamentable de pasteles de aspecto procesado. Las golosinas para perros se venden por 20 peniques cada una, lo que es la primera vez para mí. Por favor, gaste un poco más en café decente y buenos pasteles / pastas de panaderías locales y ofrecer golosinas de cortesía para nuestros amigos peludos!

Not happy on my visit today. They were quite busy. I ordered a ham toastie, I got a ham sandwich! I didn't bother complaining,as they were busy. I noticed someone on the next table was complaining that they were not given what they ordered! Not very good

My first time at the cafe since it reopened. Lovely friendly staff and I enjoyed the breakfast baguette and coffee. Good seating outside. Perfect for a refreshment stop for dog walkers. I will definitely be a regular.

Yet again the previously excellent coffee shop is shut (the cake used to be amazing). Apparently now for building works and the sign in the window mentions a coffee van which, despite it being a Bank Holiday, isn’t here. Quite a few disappointed people, what a shame.

Uncomfortable experience for me personally, the “estate manager” was so rude to staff and even shouted at one inside of the cafe infront of us customers! I felt bad for the poor girl, will not be going there again unless they change management

Not a nice atmosphere. You can see the staff are trying their best, but I think the management might be at fault. (See previous reviews for the possible culprit). I wouldn't recommend.

Lovely lunch. Small issue with the food brilliantly delt with. The staff said and did all the right things :)

Having read mixed reviews we weren't sure what to expect so stopped for coffee and cake rather than lunch, we were however pleasantly surprised by what we found. The coffee was hot and smooth and the selection of cakes was extensive. We opted for raspberry blonde and blueberry bakewell, both of which were excellent. Other customers were being served various lunch dishes of sandwiches and Toasties which looked great and appeared to be enjoyed. From today's evidence I would happily plan to have lunch here next time.

Pop in for snacks good service nice and clean

Very quiet at the moment because of a nearby road closure. Staff were lovely and I was served with my lunch within moments of sitting down. No gf cakes today but plenty of sandwiches, jacket potatoes and other gf options available.

If you are really lucky this place will be open. If you're even more lucky they will be doing food! So disappointing that this place has become so unreliable.

I'm just asking has anybody done the segway here, as I've got an experience to take by May this year, and it says the only place to do it is here, but I've not seen anything about segway on here amongst reviews? Don't take any notice with the star rating, as couldn't seem to ask a question without doing it this way.

One of my favourite places in Bristol for a quiet walk. Popular with dog walkers but gets far less traffic than nearby Blaise Castle and unlike there the parking is free. Many of the paths are uneven and muddy so good walking shoes/boots are a good idea. There is a nice little coffee shop at the side of the house (I've been to a few and it is stunning). Events are held in the house but it's not generally open to the public.

Attended a free heritage open day to see the house. Had a really knowledgeable guide. Definitely recommend visiting the house on am open day.

Was going to have food but the kitchen was closed again. Such a shame the relaxed atmosphere/ great service combo seem to have gone since the latest change of management. The staff work hard but look terrified!

We had our wedding here on Tuesday and were well looked after by the events team. A stunning place with a lovely owner. Nothing to complain about at all. I must give a shoutout to Naomi for coming in the day before she was meant to give birth to make sure everything went smoothly for us!

We had a lovely stop off here on our way home from a holiday in Devon. It was great for a picnic and a walk in the gardens. The cake and coffee in the cafe were lovely with a great outdoor seating area.

The building was built between 1712 and 1719, and was designed by Sir John Vanbrugh for the lawyer and politician Edward Southwell on the site of an earlier Tudor house. It was then remodelled in 1763–1768 by Robert Mylne and again between 1845 and 1850 by Thomas Hopper. The Kings Weston estate possesses one of the largest collections of buildings designed by Sir John Vanbrugh in the UK. Whilst the house and the majority of the estate's buildings are still standing, others have been demolished or have been heavily altered. Bristol is the only UK city outside London that possess buildings designed by Vanbrugh. A significant architectural feature is the grouping of all the chimneys into a massive arcade. There is no admission charge for the grounds of the Estate. The grounds are open at all times. Kings Weston House is not open to the public, except for special events.(see web-site).

Heritage Open Day - did a tour of the House, led by a very knowledgeable KWAG (Kings Weston Action Group) volunteer. Couldn't complete the guided tour as I had to get to Blaise Castle to open up for the afternoon. Managed a quick look around Kings Weston House, really lovely.

Really loved the café. Looks spectacular and full of historic charm. Clean with friendly staff well turned out. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Had cheesy chips and a flatbread, both were nice. Perfect for a drop in after a walk round the park with the dog.

Had lovely lunch on Thursday very impressed with the staff and prices all very good will be going again

The new Sir John Vanburgh Cafe is fine, but coffee is not cheap and the pain au chocolat that we had was very dry and unpleasant. It was previously Morgan's Cafe which did great sausage rolls. None of that now tho. Poor layout means that customers are not sure where to stand and queueing customers block the exit of served customers.

Lovely place to visit and also for a wedding! we had our English and Sikh weddings here back to back, Melissa and the manor owners where extremely helpful and helped to make sure our wedding was great, we met the owners aswel which where friendly also

A wonderful location for walking and to exercise dogs. The House itself is not normally open to the public, but includes a Café that serves drinks and light refreshments.

Disappointing. Had two warm weak lattes after asking for extra hot. Had two pieces of cake. All the cake were the same mix but with different flavour filling and topping. Lovely surroundings and staff were very pleasant. Won't bother returning though.

wow what a beautiful coffee shop and the views sat in the garden were something else looking over the bridge to wales spectacular well done to the new team running this lovely coffee shop , helpful , happy nothing too much trouble and a great choice of coffees , cakes, drinks and lunch we will be back .........

I love this place. The grounds, the house and the coffee from the new cafe.

Ordered two different coffees and lemon cake. Was asked to repeat back the order. While seated another member of staff called over asking what cake we ordered. Slight concern as though not priced, many selections of cakes varying in size and I assume price. Coffee arrived, waitress had no idea which was the latte or dirty chai latte (they both looked the same). Coffee was warm rather than hot. On the way out decided to purchase two cold drinks. Coke for my friend and a bottle of smoothie that was in the fridge. Couldn’t sell the smoothie as all were out of date! There needs to be a big shake up with staff for me to go there again

Terrible service. Went for lunch today was told lunch service wasn’t ready. Both looked at the clock and was it 11:59 so Asked when it would start and just got a shrug. Not worth the trip!

Nice to return to great destination, lovely refurbished cafe, but not so great to be charged extra for skimmed milk without being advised. I queried the price at point of debit card scan with 2 employees who said that skimmed milk is classed as an alternative milk. I pointed out that alternative milk is oat, soya, etc.., but the staff shrugged. I feel like I have been taken for a mug being charged extra for skimmed milk, especially as skimmed milk retails the same as whole and semi-skimmed. It leaves a sour taste if you get my meaning. I know it is only 10p extra, and I like to support small businesses, but it's the whole handling of the matter that disappoints. I wish them well though and am sure that not many customers will even notice. I did have a very good flat white coffee, however.

Lovely refurbishment, on the cafe, staff are I assume getting use to machines etc, but they will Have to up their game a bit slow, and mistakes are being made on orders , but it is only the first proper day. No prices on cake products , Also may be good idea to have an auto closure on the cafe door , The food looked amazing , and will try another time . The facilities are being refurbished, But look forward for the cafe o be the go to place , But look forward to seeing ongoing development in The house , it is a beautiful building. And grounds

Came for the Grand reopening of the Coffee House Sunday 16th July. Nothing Grand about this very disappointing nothing was ready there was no reopening presentation or speech or cutting of Ribbon. Very flat arrived at 0758hrs for the reopening at 0800hrs. Then I walked in at 0800hrs expecting a warm welcoming but I was welcomed with panic probably first day nerves. Nothing was out on display, coffee machine not working such a shame. There was no atmosphere or welcoming and owner no present. Have I missed something about the reopening event.
