Artisan Coffee House & Bar in Eastleigh

Thoroughly recommend Artisan, service was superb and the owner helped on recommendations of food and wine. A lovely lazy meze lunch in a chilled traditional Turkish setting. Something so different from the usual pubs and restaurants in Eastleigh. You can eat light dishes or just pop in for a drink. Perfect for all occasions. Booking may be necessary to avoid disappointment.

Pizzas are delicious. Eaten in and got takeaway. One of my favourite pizza places anywhere and one of the few good places to eat in Eastleigh! Service can be slightly hit and miss sometimes but that's okay, particularly given the difficulties restaurants are having at the moment. Really recommend.

Absolutely wonderful and cozy atmosphere with friendly service. The food is fantastic. I ate on my own here when passing through town and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. As a solo diner, two mezzes and a large glass of wine was a perfect and warm respite from the cold. Will absolutely return when I’m in the area.

6* experience!!! This is now my top place for pizza in Southampton/Eastleigh. I had the four cheese pizza (mozzarella, cheddar, halloumi and feta) and my partner had the meat feast (beef meatballs, pepperoni, ham), and we shared a garlic bread. We were both mind blown by the taste and excellent quality of ingredients. I could not be happier! The restaurant also has a great aesthetic, which is a bonus. Staff were very polite and welcoming, attentive but not intrusive. We will definitely be back and I cannot wait to try the rest of the range as well as the meze!

Such a lovely place to dine, the owner and staff are welcoming, which creates a lovely familial atmosphere. The food is delicious and the service is pretty fast. Overall, I love this place!

Dough is really good but overall a bit too salty

What a refreshing dining experience. A real cosy atmosphere with a vast selection of delights to try. The Yogurt Chicken was without a shadow of a doubt the tastiest dish I've had in years! I wish I'd had 2 stomachs so I could have eaten more! Lovely wines too! The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We will be back!

The pizza is made with an oven with fire, not electric, therefore the outcome is very good, the pizza is delicious.

Had a delightful impromptu solo dinner during my work trip here. The restaurant staff were incredibly welcoming, provided attentive service, and made sure to cater to my vegetarian preferences. Highly recommended!

Just been here for dinner. Ordered the BBQ Chicken pizza and the Four Cheese pizza. Toppings are incredibly generous, my halloumi on the pizza was fabulous. Very friendly people who work here, such a wonderful atmosphere. The interior is decorated so beautifully.

My partner and I tried this restaurant recently as neither of us had much experience with Turkish cuisine and we incredibly happy with the experience. The waiter was accommodating and friendly, giving us advice on how/what to order. Our food was beautifully cooked and seasoned- there were no issues with any part of the dishes we chose which arrived soon after ordering. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant highly enough- 5 stars

Just come back from a great meal and felt that I had to review. Everyone in the restaurant was lovely and the food was amazing. Far too good to be on Eastleigh High Street.

Great food, great atmosphere and great service

We have just had a fabulous evening listening to music and drinking excellent cocktails with a gorgeous and ample sharing board. I can’t recommend enough. Definitely worth the trip out from overpriced Winchester. Gives their artisan restaurants a run for their money

Delicious food (we went for pizzas) and a special mention to Gino - he was so lovely to us, checking that everything was alright and going above and beyond warming up the pizza for the one of us that turned up a bit later. ordered two pizzas to take away, all we could taste was salt! flavourless! The dough was far too salty. Small size too. Not worth the money, do not buy

Tried this place out for the first time tonight and we'll definitely be back! You have to go in to appreciate how lovely it is inside. Such a great, relaxed atmosphere with tasteful decor and friendly staff. The food was incredible – I'd particularly recommend the halloumi and sausage dish but everything was so tasty!

As a family we love eating at Evi. The atmosphere is so relaxed and the staff are lovely and helpful. We have eaten pretty much everything on the menu and can recommend it all. It is all cooked to prefection and is extremely tasty.

First time trying Turkish Tapas and it was amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would give 5 stars but it seems like there's no light in the toilet so I had to pee by torchlight.

Excellent atmosphere, dining, staff and management. There aren't many places that are great to eat in Easteligh. This is a contender for the topspot. The manager is extremely welcoming and almost always present meeting customers, checking that all is well. This is clearly a passion for him and not just a revenue stream. He knows how to invest in his staff too keep them happy, and it shows.

Lovely place to share a meal with friends. Portion sizes are quite small though which was a bit disappointing. Other than that had a lovely time with excellent food and staff was very friendly. Recommend going to the wine bar opposite after dinner, which is the sister restaurant.

Went here on a Wednesday evening with my book club. We had a reservation so were seated right away: it wasn't too crowded. There was a large party there already, but we were served our food quite quickly. The employees were very friendly. The food was delicious. We all shared some apps and small plates and it was great. The feta parcels were especially popular. But also the eggplant, hummus, white bean were really nice as well. I would definitely go again. And across the street is a lovely cozy wine bar for a glass after dinner.

Great meal out for my wifes birthday. Decided to go for Turkish meze as a friend had told us about it.Staff welcoming,not pushy, offered drinks and gave us time to choose. Everything came as expected,loads of flavour and good size portions,you wont be disappointed.Stuffed vine leaves,prawns,calamari,falafel,borek,which is feta +spinach parcels. Had to choose more so had mini grill lamb and chicken. Make sure you book your table,its very popular and busy, we went for 1830pm its now 2015...we will return.

We have been here a number of times over the years and it is still our go to for a relaxed lunch or evening meal (alone or with friends). Great relaxed atmosphere with great service and Turkish food and pizza at Evi’s. The combination of Artisans and Evi’s across the road provides lots of options for food and drinks. The staff are all very friendly and professional, and the courtyard at the back of Artisans is an oasis where you could be somewhere on the Mediterranean. A great way to pass high quality time.

What a great find after travelling all day. Ordered olives and a cold maze platter, with baclava and coffee for dessert. All excellent and well presented. Really friendly and helpful staff, and will def be coming back next time I’m in the area.

What a gem. Turned away from a fully booked chain restaurant pre cinema we lucked out finding this place. I’m guessing it’s independently run and managed to create a feeling of being on holiday. Delicious tapas and delicious wine. Good service too. Thank you!

Stumbled on this gem when going out for lunch whilst working in Eastleigh. Some of the best pizza I have had. Great staff. Highly recommended

Lovely food but having only one oven means you're waiting a fair while to get your food.

The ambiance was lovely and the staff courteous, but that was about the only positives from the night! Two plates arrived together, ahead of the wine…. A small dinner sharing plate with a selection of a single spoonfuls of dips, salad, dolmades, and 4 olives! No explanation of what was one there… everything merged into one, it didn’t look pleasant… I’ll leave the rest to your imagination!! A second small dinner sharing plate arrived with bite size mixed hot mezes, and there’s nothing substantial at all, 2 pieces of chicken, lamb, fish, kofta, calamari, vine leaves, halloumi, each etc all about the size a a 10p piece! We arrived, been seated, eaten and finished in 40 minutes!!! The food was tasty, but the portions we tiny, the presentation as abysmal, the staff were stressed as everyone was complaining! Pudding arrived, not to our taste so we asked for the bill! We were horrified to find out we had been charged £40 per head… for effectively 2 small plates of food! A total rip off! My first experience at Artisan, we complained and apart from a verbal apology, nothing else was done, no discount, no offer to ‘try us again’ we’ll put things right voucher! Wake up… we drove past so many lovely places to eat with you! Very poor, we left disappointed, I was still hungry… and over £100 lighter with the wine!!

This had been recommended to me and I wasn't disappointed. Popped in for a Monday evening meal and was greeted like a regular. Food was superb as was the customer service and décor. No faults found and I definitely recommend. Thank you Artizan Meze for the perfect end to the day!

This is a jewel for eating in Eastleigh. There is great ambience including an enclosed garden area with lovely draped vines surrounding and authentic Turkish decor to reflect and compliment the excellent cuisine. The food is all freshly prepared and promptly served. Proprietor Hasan is always ready and willing to cater for special needs and requests and all ingredients are of the highest quality. Decent wine list including some excellent Turkish of course, Yakult etc. This place is well worth a visit and you will be welcomed equally whether visiting for a full meal, coffee or just a drink! My wife and I had the cold Meze sharing plate and a couple of hot mezes dishes and this was more than adequate as we know from experience. The Albanian Liver is to die for - natural or spicy! All great stuff!

Waited til 2 hours after booked reservation time just for the pizza to be burned, not as good as other high street alternatives, not happy

Been waiting over an hour for my order, understaffed and although having a pre-booked table, our order went unprioritised. The pizza eventually came and tasted good but it was greasy and not worth the high price, wouldn't recommend.

Really nice, fresh, authentic food. We enjoyed a selection of tapas style dishes, all modest but we had a few different ones and plenty of bread for a filling meal. Pleased to be able to support an independent amongst the many chains in the area. Lovely service and fair value for money. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed the food here, excellent flavours and tried baba ghanoush for the first time . Would recommend this place to anyone. Only one person was serving as it was quiet and before 6pm. Great ambiance and decor. Transported back to the Aegean, wonderful

Had some quick pizza's in here before going to the cinema and they were very tasty. The service was very good and quick and the Turkish beer was also good. You can see the chef making the pizza's and cooking them in the big pizza oven as it's all in the same room. We will definitely be going back, and l can definitely recommend this lovely independent place based on our visit

Delicious pizza and good service

Incredible experience. Such a lovely set up, super friendly staff and some of the best pizza I've ever had. And cocktails as well. And live music on the Friday we went, so warming and welcoming. Food took a little longer then expected but it was so worth the wait. We should have got there earlier.

We had visited this restaurant after recommendations only to be extremely disappointed. We had a table booked for 8pm only to be told on our arrival that they were getting the table ready and to wait outside. 15 minutes later they took us the through the restaurant to sit outside in the back terrace which was cold and dark whilst we still waited for our table telling us the party that was at our table had been there since 6pm and still hadn’t left! we then got told to go and wait upstairs as there was a free table there. We didn’t. We sat at a table in the restaurant while our partners stood until our table was ready. We eventually sat at 8.30. Having not been offered anything from the restaurant we proceeded to order. The wine wasn’t available! The food was very mediocre and not what we had expected at all. Very disappointed!!

We've just moved to the area and we went here for our anniversary dinner a week or so ago. While service was a little slow, it was worth the wait and the food was absolutely incredible! The staff were also very friendly. I could not recommend this place highly enough. We will definitely be back.

For a non pizza lover I was blown away with Evi's homemade Pizza, it was the most delicious pizza I have ever eaten and the Calzone was delightful. Very impressed and very Pleased, the staff were all lovely and friendly within a beautiful atmosphere, looking forward to returning... :)

We love this Little Gem of a Restaurant,We visited the Artisan last night because it was my Girlfriend's Birthday, and we knew we were in for a great night.Firstly we were greeted by the waiter, then Hassan the owner himself, always with a welcoming smile and handshake because were old friendsRestaurant wasn't as busy as usual but still a nice atmosphere with soft music Shown to our table and time to take in the lovely smells coming from the kitchen My girlfriend Sue had the Feta Borek and I had the hot Olives with Pitta bread to start both dishes were Excellent Ordered a Bottle of Melbec from the extensive wine menu which was very niceMains Sue had the Lamb Cutlets with Salad and I went for the Chicken Yoghurt with an accompliment of Spicy Potatoes, both were absolutely delicious. Washed down with a cherry liquor on the house which was a nice touch.Retired to the bar Area with a bottle of EfesYet Again Hassan and his staff done us proud.Excellent Value for the Quality of Food.Definitely will be returning to this Great Little Restaurant. Reading through the reviews here and reading some of the more negative ones, I fail to understand how anyone can be so dismissive of the Artisan.Having travelled in the eastern med and Aegean this is as genuine as you will find in the UK. Simple taverna type food well prepared, presented and cooked - all at reasonable prices.All in all a very happy evening

This was quite hard work - close to where I was staying and well-reviewed but when I arrived I found the place poorly lit for a dinner-time reader... selfinsh perhaps. I did find a table with just enough light for John Grisham to continue his tale.The emnu I found very hard to decipher but eventually settled on a few mezes - the aubergine dish i though would be hot turned out to be cold - it was very nice but not what i expected. Another surprise was that the Efes Draught beer turned out to be in a bottle...Staff were pleasant and friendly but it was hard to understand how to put a meal together - maybe it was me...?

The food was good and wholesome. Nothing fancy just authentic and welcoming. The staff were lovely and gave that welcome you only experience in warmer climbs. If you get the chance do pay a visit.

Came here for dinner for the first time and we were so surprised how lovely this restaurant is. Its beautiful in the garden when its dark and and the vines are lit with pretty little lights. Found it quite romantic. Food is good and perfectly cooked. A bit more expensive then other turkish restaurants but its worth it for the food, warm and friendly service and lovely ambience. A really unique restaurant to all the other in Eastleigh and looking forward to our return visit.

Pizza was delicious and atmosphere fab!

From the outside it looks like a compact bar/restaurant but venture to the rear and it’s an atmospheric haven. Great attentive service and comfortable environment. The food was excellent albeit on the pricey side,especially the wine. I’d pay that for the relaxed environment and being able to order at leisure with no rush to get me out. Thoroughly recommended.

Great pizza and a lovely relaxed environment, and over all value for money.

We went for my daughters 19th birthday, and are really glad we did. A little unassuming from the outside, but a fantastic covered back area with grape vines and Turkish decor. Borek, humous and lamb/chicken was delicious and staff were great... but they could do with slowing down! Glad we were on beer, as if we had a bottle of wine we'd have still had 2/3rds left by the time the main course arrived! Slow down, and we'll order more!

We went here as a big group of 20 for a dinner together and had a lovely time. The food was really tasty, and came very quickly! The staff were very friendly and the outside seating area under the canopy of vines was lovely. I'd love to come back! Go here for a great time and good food.

100% would recommend - a table of 18 of us were sat under the vines at the rear of the restaurant. The staff were so inviting and always there for a helping hand. The food was perfect for sharing and tasted incredible. The chicken in yoghurt and the stuffed vine leaves were a personal favourite. Would definitely recommend for all occasions.

You can have a holiday to Turkey experience here. Ambiance and the staff that enhance it make for the most relaxing meal you'll have in the south. No rush just chill. Oh and the food is first class which is always a plus

Had dinner here last week and had a fantastic dining experience. The pizza is high quality with an excellent dough. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place has a warm, rustic feel that has clearly been carefully cultivated. I will be coming back next time I'm in town.

WOW.Why did it take me so many years to visit here? I must have walked passed 100 times and never had a meal.... so many regrets!This is how a restaurant should be run, small business, lovingly prepared and served food with a genuine interest that you are satisfied and the the food is unto expectations of both the guest and the server!The food is "tapa's" style which means you can have a wee plate of many different flavours but it does mean you end up ordering 3 plates or if you're a fat lad like me 5 but totally worth it!I was a roasty hot day and the fresh flavours and grill made me feel like i was sitting out in the Med somewhere enjoying an evening meal........Going to take the Mrs here as soon as possible so that'll be the real test!Fantastic meal thank you for hosting us!

Visiting south coast for the weekend and staying nearby, so checked this place out as we love Turkish food, Sat outside in covered courtyard which is lovely and even on a very warm evening it was nice and cool. It was very busy but we were served pretty quickly and food was fresh and delicious! Great choice for meat eaters or veggie, and decent portions. Would have loved to try dessert but we were full! Nice ice cold Efes served which we love too. Really liked that Oz (who was the manager?) was taking time to stop at tables to chat and ask people if they were enjoying their evening. A really nice touch which you don’t get too often these days. If we come back we will try their Pizza restaurant opposite. Great evening.
