Wanted Sausage Roll and Tuna sandwich and told to order and pay at till. There was 1 woman serving a gentleman already so stood to the side of him to wait. Then another woman joined queue to my left, then another. Before the gentleman was finished a second member of staff went to the other till (directly in front of 2 women to my left) and said 'next'. I pointed out that I was next and she motioned for me to move in front of her, which I couldn't. She then said (abrubtly) if I didn't want to order/pay then she would serve someone else. If I had been on my own I would have walked out but I was with an 87 year old relative and my mobility isn't great either. The food was appalling!!! Sausage roll was luke warm / cold in middle and grossly overpriced at £6.95. Tuna in sandwich I think had come straight out of tin with no seasoning or mayo and cost £9.95. The place (don't want to call it a restaurant) was very busy and chaotic. I'm surprised that with so many bad reviews for so many years things haven't improved. Needless to say will not return. 😟

Ordered Sunday dinners. 1 x Roast Beef and 1 x 3 Meat. When they arrived the vegetables and meat were cold. We advised the staff who took the plates away and returned them .- very rudely slammed down the plates and said "be careful its hot". Actually the plates were still cold and the food still cold with a slight warmth at the top. No apology offered. Looking back I should have realised something was off when the food was all covered in foil at the counter. Might be that food was prepared early and not properly reheated.

We only ended up in The Apple Barn because of how busy everywhere else on the Country Park site was and expectations weren’t especially high but we were grateful to find a table. Queues for coffee were long yet cashiers were waiting with no queue, and there seemed to be a couple of staff just wandering around directing people - maybe more serving coffee would have been sensible? My biggest issue was the lack of variety in the menu for vegetarians. Not a single ciabatta (I would have been more than happy with Brie and cranberry but they had all been pre-prepared with bacon) and only one choice of sandwich - egg. Not even cheese and tomato or cheese and onion! I have had a response from the manager whose email said there are vegetarian choices of “ Quiche Risotto Jacket potato Ciabatta Sandwiches Omelettes Soup” but as I said previously, there was no choice of sandwich - only egg - and no ciabatta. I didn’t want a hot meal! I settled for the egg which was initially delivered the wrong table. The filling was generous but I was surprised to see that the sandwich had not even been cut in half - is this a new normal? My husband had a jacket potato with beans and cheese - not especially hot. Coffees were mediocre, quite weak. The ambience in the restaurant is standard for a chain garden centre - busy, noisy and not especially spacious. I’d be very unlikely to eat here again - if the other alternatives were unable to accommodate I’d eat elsewhere in Evesham or wait until I was home!

Went with my mum for Sunday Lunch, she had beef I had gammon as they had run out of chicken, cost £16 per person plus drinks on top of that total paid £38.50. What turned up was shocking, the gammon was 2 slices about 2mm thick and it was processed it didn’t come off a joint, it reminded me of the Bernard Matthew’s rolls you used to get and had gristle in the middle which I couldn’t eat! The veg was varied and consisted of pickled red cabbage, sprouts that were still rock hard, cauliflower cheese that wasn’t cheesy at all it was like a white sauce and stalks weren’t cooked, parsnips and carrots were ok, Roast Potatoes were reheated and had chewy skin, think they had been microwaved, Yorkshire was good. We had to ask for extra gravy as it was so little you couldn’t see it and it was very thin, but not everyone likes thick gravy. Mum said her beef was fine, but on the whole for £16 I expected better I pay less for a carvery at the Bluebell and I get good quality meat and properly cooked veg. So disappointed and cost far too much! Love their prawn baguette but won’t be there for a roast again.

What a disaster had lunch here years ago and brilliant how things have changed now and not for the better I chose prawn baggette and side order of gourmet chips what turned up was a spongy excuse for bread and extremely watered down rose marie sauce with the tiniest prawns ever seen and the chips were reconstituted powder that stuck to the roof of the mouth absolute rubbish My wife opted for the mushroom risotto which turned up as a plate of green rice with uncooked lumps for texture and a bad case of find the mushroom and no taste or flavour whatsoever My pot of tea contained one teabag which was probably the cheapest bought with no strength at all Although we will be back for shopping or garden centre we will definitely not be returning here again I'd rather bring a flask and sandwiches

I took my 90 year old Nan out for lunch as an early Mother’s Day treat, and although it was a very busy Saturday, we had no problems finding a table. We decided what we wanted to eat, I ordered the quiche, and my Nan ordered a sausage roll. The lady at the till asked us whether we wanted it hot or cold, to which we requested it hot. When it arrived at the table, the waiter asked us whether we’d like any sauces to which my Nan asked for salad cream (Both meals came with salad). While we were waiting for the waiter to return, we both cut into our meals only to find that my quiche was warm on the outside and cold on the inside, and my nan’s sausage roll the same. As the waiter returned, I mentioned that our meals weren’t hot as requested, and to give credit where it’s due, he apologised and swiftly took them away. However, the salad cream that came to the table was in a brown tapas style dish, and was a glue like texture which made it hard for my Nan to put on her salad. It ended up being like a dip for her. On a positive note, when the waiter returned with our meals, we both had fresh food that had been warmed through thoroughly and he apologised again. I couldn’t fault the service from the waiter (young lad with glasses) and he did nothing wrong in this situation. I’m not one to complain, but on this occasion sadly it did disappoint. Not sure how soon i will be returning.

Big breakfast, fast friendly service. They are very generous with their portions. I ordered the country ham breakfast and it came with a whole slice of ham. Most places give only a half. My friend ordered the banana nut pancakes she loved them. She also likes crispy bacon and hers was cooked perfectly.

I had fish and chips which wasn't the nicest and the peas came in a bowl full of water. My 2 friends both had chicken wraps and salad. The salad was just leaves and nothing else and they both said the wraps were disgusting and they looked it. Very dry chicken no taste and they were supposed to be flavoured. Wraps also dry. They left it all They complained and had a full refund and as it wasn't queried or offered something different we all think this is a regular thing.

Came back from our recent visit to write this review and realised that I'd said pretty much the exact same thing 9 months ago. Sadly it would seem that the management do not read feedback and / or don't care :-( See attached photo: All non meat-eaters are apparently on a diet and we have to pay extra as well for the privilege. I did consider having an extra egg etc but at £1.95 each (?) maybe not. Why they can't have a vegetarian version of the full breakfast, who knows. Veggie sausages, veggie bacon, there's even veggie 'black pudding' available these days. But of course, none of these are available. On a plus note, the vegetarian breakfast was presented nicely and tasted good. But this is not the point I'm making. Please management, provide better options for non meat-eaters and have a few veggie bit and pieces in the freezer 'just in case'.

We tried to have lunch here on a recent trip to the area and we had a small dog with us. There were no signs on the entrance to the restaurant stating dogs were only allowed in the outdoor area so we proceeded to find a table. We got settled and we’re looking at the menu when a rather rude member of staff came up and said I quote’ No dogs!!! They can go outside!!’ Her rude mannerism and lack of I’m so sorry, we have to keep the indoor seating dog free etc etc was extreme and she then stood and watched while we left! Her parting comment was a suggestion of eating elsewhere as they accept dogs so not even offering to find an outdoor table for us where we could sit comfortably and have a meal! We have eaten here before and the food is generally good. The staff are normally polite, friendly and welcoming however we certainly won’t be going there again! Personally I think the woman should be back of house and not customer facing although I pity the staff that have to work alongside!!!!

Ordered chickpea and spinach curry. Substituted baked potatoe for fries. The smallest ramakin came with eight chips in a small container I ate three fork fulls of the chickpea trying to taste the curry. No curry at all and no spinach, just chopped tin tomatoe and almost raw onion. When i decided to complain i was told that and i quote, ill tell the chef but i cant give you a refund because you have eaten half of it Was i sure that it was not a mild curry. My temper was riseing So we left, my wifes quiche was rubbish. Would never return and would never recomend, we live near by.

My wife and I had the Sunday roast (chicken breast). The meal was best described as warm. The vegetables were tasty enough but the chicken was large, dry and tough/chewy. Regarding the latter, I left 50% of mine and my wife did better leaving 25%. In defence of this establishment, we have previously visited on week days having had light lunches (ciabattas, toasted sandwiches etc) and they've been most pleasing.

The bacon, Brie panini had hardly any filling just the panini. The “salad “ was a little lettuce and some sweetcorn. No tomato or coleslaw. The scone was half the size you get at most garden centres. Very expensive for what you get and poor quality. Will eat somewhere else next time. Such a shame as it used to be very good

Have heard such good things about this restaurant. Firstly they seem to stop hot food at 3pm which is a bit disappointing. Not terribly clear that you have to order hot food at the till and your cake/drinks at the other counter! Ranked outside had not been Kesteven and certainly not been wiped over as we used a napkin and it was absolutely black ☹️coffee was not hot enough!! Such a shame lovely venue/setting but doesn’t really flow and is a bit stressful at the ordering etc side. Staff very friendly but needs better organisation 😊

We used to use this restaurant regularly in the days when it was the only choice. Things certainly have not improved since, despite there being some competition now. Disorganised and overpriced. Try the cafe in the craft centre.

First time back since last Autumn. Cannot understand the very negative comments that have been made as we had a very pleasant lunch. Clean tables, friendly helpful staff and good food. What more can you ask - maybe slightly lower prices. My pork chop was excellent, though two varieties of cabbage with the roast potatoes wouldn't be my choice of vegetable given the opportunity. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her butter chicken. We do miss the carvery that used to be available before the lockdown but the menu gives plenty of choice so should suit anyone. We will certainly be back though as we live over an hour away it is not somewhere we visit frequently.

I came to the Valley whilst visiting some family in Evesham, I went round the shops and then eventually came to the cafe my family sat down whilst I queued for food I was stood in the queue for the hot carvery and was greeted by a very unpleasant young lady who had no manners at all. I then moved on to the pay station where I was greeted by another young lady who again was so rude I just wanted to walk out!! No respect for customers and their customer service was shocking. The only positive is the food was very delicious.
