Miss the Anglesey how it was. Now it’s neither a pub or an Indian restaurant. Stretton didn’t need another Indian. Was a great pub before. Wasn’t impressed with our visit, food was ok nothing special, bar staff didn’t even know how to make a cocktail. It’s a shame as was a great pub before dont think we’d return.

We used to eat here regularly and there was always a good choice of reasonably priced food, but now the menu is very limited and confused. I'm really not sure what the pub is trying to be. If it is Indian food, where are the normal accompanying options such as poppadoms, pickles and a decent number of dishes to choose from. You can't even order a curry at lunch time. We have some excellent Asian restaurants in Burton which are much cheaper. The excellent Gurkha lounge is much nicer. There is fish and chips and pie on the menu but no grill items such as steaks. Very Poor choice of starters. The fish was good but whilst the naan bread itself was nice, there was very little filling and just 2 small pieces, very thin slivers tbh of meat in each half. We went for Friday lunch and used to see groups of people eating but not today. The tomato ketchup in unlabelled bottles was definitely cheap and very nasty- so vinegary. The chips werent chips The lady behind the bar was lovely but on her own serving the bar and lounge and serving the meals. The queue at the bar was getting frustrated. The toilets here have always been cold and fusty but they smelt terrible of mould and freezing cold today. A lick of paint is needed on the doors as they're so battered they could belong in a dodgy nightclub I do hope the owners read and react to this. It used to be a good local pub with a good choice of reasonably priced food- now it really is a very poor choice of mismatched food, some of which seems very expensive compared to other choices in Burton. Whilst 2 of us found something we thought we'd like, we can't take a group of friends here as there just isn't enough choice and there are much better options

Awesome Indian food in a traditional pub. Four of us had an amazing meal. Lamb chops were the star of the starters, big portion of succulent, spicy, lamb chops. Mains were delicious. Excellent value but most importantly excellent food which is better than the local Curry restaurants. Was With my sister who was celebrating her birthday and the owner bought out a complimentary shot. Very very good overall.

Well can only say awful,ok for a drink but avoid the food need a lot more work in that department. New tenants unfortunately haven't got the food right /Indian ,/fish n chips/nachos speechless vile,what can I say ....only thing is I feel for the staff they are lovely and doing there best .

Came for a reccy with the view to having some lunch here one day. Outside has had some recent cosmetic work as has the inside. However all a bit of an odd feeling to the place. ?Is it a local ?is it a sports bar ?is it a bowls club bar

Dave sat us in a little pod and Jordan was constantly serving us and making sure we were okay, food and drinks so lovely and amazing service! Can’t wait to visit again

Came here on Friday for drinks and dinner and the work the team have done to make the garden covid safe is fantastic. the heated pods and large umbrellas came in handy for the weather. a great pint of ale and a well cooked burger went down a treat and nothing seemed to much for the staff who were all very friendly.

Amazing food and staff the service is quick and the Covid rules are always being followed, the heated pods are amazing 10/10 pub

We had a warm welcome back to our local village eatery. All the staff were professional and observed social distancing rules. We were shown to our table and the table service was great. Good beer, good food and good atmosphere we will definitely be back x

My wife, great aunt and I wanted to go out for a nice pub meal and we had heard from friends that The Anglesey Arms was a place to go for a nice meal.We arrived at the pub which is at the end of The Green road in Stretton. There is parking to the front and rear of the pub. We entered the pub and it appears to be split into two halves. One side has a bar and a pool table etc and the other side is the restaurant.We found a table at the end of the restaurant which overlooks a bowling green. On looking at the menu there was a good choice of food. What was nice is that not all the meals were with chips, like some other local eateries.You order food and drinks at the bar. As it was Wednesday it was pie and a pint day, so I decided to have the Beef and Double Gloucester Pie, which was diced beef in a rich ale gravy, encased in pastry, topped with double Gloucester cheese and served with mash or chips, seasonal veg and gravy - sounds great, but would it taste as good as sounded.My wife had the Hunters Chicken Pie, which was chicken, bacon, melted cheese and BBQ sauce – all in a pie, served with mash or chips, seasonal veg and gravy.My great Aunt had the Chicken Tikka Masala. Well when the food arrived all three meals looked great, especially the two pie meals. My wife and I had mash with our meals. The pies looked great, not your normal pukka pie.Well I can honestly say the pies tasted as good as they looked - wow they were good. I have visited numerous pubs either locally or whilst on holiday where I have ordered a pie and mash meal and I can honestly say this was the best pie I have ever had. The mash and gravy was very good also.My wife said her pie was so tasty - I tried some and yes it was delicious. All three meals were very good. We all decided to have a pudding. The puddings were very good also. The custard was really nice. In summary we all a great meal. As I have said the pies were really great. The service was very good - the staff were very welcoming. We will certainly be going back for another meal. Well recommended.

Purchased a chocolate bar for my son, only to find out that it's a multipack not to be sold separate, cash only too so something isn't right !!

Fantasic meal with great service, i had the triple roast dinner, wow, fresh veg,juice meat and amazing crackling made it the best roast i have had in ages. Staff that were engaging without been to in your face and a lovely gem off a pub means i will be back for more

What can I say. We booked New Years morning 2020 because we didn't want to cook and got a table for 6 at 5PM. Brilliant food and the staff were amazing. Keep up the great work

MY partner and I popped into this pub on a walk through the pleasant village it is central to.We purchased 2 soft drinks at almost £5 for the two.I went away to look at the menu with my partner.I only wanted a light bite so ordered myself a vegetarian sausage roll no chips or sides.The same price was charged as if I'd wanted the full meal (£7.49)and the thing was dry and not worth the trouble to chew(see the picture).I went to the local Coop and bought myself something that was passable to fill up on the way home.Surly staff clicky atmosphere ,we will not be returning.

Visited here on 20th October 5 of us. Not many diners in at all so we had a seat near the window. On looking at the menu we remarked that it has changed since our summer visit. We were not sure if they did Sunday roasts, but they do. Deciding to have 3 Chicken roast dinners, one had chicken and beef (extra cost) One had Southern BBQ chicken wrap with curly fries. The roasts had jugs of gravy, but even with this over the chicken it was really dry. The veg consisted of baby sweetcorn, carrot and broccoli... obviously frozen veg. One of our party went without the veg as he doesn't like sweetcorn at all. I thought it was quite 'bland' and really disappointed this time, to when we came back in June. The staff are pleasant though, so no complaints there.

We came for Sunday lunch, I appreciate that meals are all down to a price, there could have been more meat and certainly more gravy, but for hardly any more money you can get a decent carvery with plenty of meat and serve yourself veg. etc. Like I said OK, but room for improvement.

First time coming to this pub for a meal, absolutely lovely place, very friendly. Prices aren’t too bad especially taking into consideration the quality of the food. Good area, staff/management are very friendly. Will definitely be returning and recommend for anyone. 😆😆

Came here for the 1st time with my partner last week and I have to confess, it's my number one place to eat.Food was absolutely faultless! We had a starter which was massive, we both had triple burgers for the main with which you get a free drink. The burgers are to die for but the triple is huge....! Couldn't fault the food or the service as the staff were very friendly and welcoming.Definitely going back as it's worth every penny....so if you havent already been go because you will not be disappointed

Have been here a few times, always pretty much enjoyed, good value, typical chain pub food. Left disappointed today. Was pretty busy and there just didn’t seem to be enough staff. 3 of the meals were ok, my 8 year old daughter’s meal was not. Ordered the kids meal deal, chicken goujons and build your own sundae. She took one bite in to a goujon and said she didn’t like it and it was really hard (I’ve never known her turn down a chicken nugget/goujon!)The chicken had the texture of cardboard, think it may have sat under a heat lamp for far too long! Stringy and grey. No one came over to ask if everything was ok so just left the goujons and she just ate the chips. We finished our meals and after at least a 15 minute wait, no one came to clear the table. My husband then had to go to the bar to stand in a queue to say we were ready for the kids meal deal pudding. The pudding was then brought over around 10 minutes later. The waitress picked up the plates, we advised her that the chicken goujons were inedible and our daughter couldn’t eat them. She proceeded to cover them up, not even glance at them and after what seemed like a life time said “oh, sorry about that”. Nothing else. It’s a shame as this pub offers reasonably priced food but today we felt let down. Appeared not to have enough staff on for the amount of customers, the food quality and customer service was poor. Hope it was just a one off.

We were here for a pop in meal and was pleasantly surprised how good the food was. Been here a few years ago but how it's changed well worth a visit again.

Been here a few times in recent months, even came Easter Sunday 21st April 2019 and they were open serving meals. Came again 8th May 2019 and 1st June 2019. We only have 'light bites' like subs or jacket potatoes as we find them filling and enjoyable at dinner times. They do offers like a soft drink with your meal or for a £1 extra you can have an alcoholic one. Also they do 2 for 1 sweets. Each time I have been I have just had a jacket potato with halloumi on, because I don't like beans etc., They are always obliging and do this for me. Our other diners like the fish finger sub. which looks really filling and they like to go for this when we visit. I have tasted the Sticky Toffee Pudding and it is really nice. They offer 2 for 1 on desserts which is good. My grandson had the Cookie Cup Explosion and he thought is was really enjoyed every mouthful. I can't comment on the meals here as have only called for a snack, but when we saw them being served they did look good. This place is hidden away from the road and unless you are purposely looking for it I can imagine it would be overlooked. For us it is handy and we have always found the people friendly and obliging.

Another family visit to a great pub. Food excellent cooked to order, fresh & hot. Very good price. Very good menu something to suit everyone. Very good choice of Ales. Very clean friendly pub with excellent staff.

The onion ring tower was the "bomb" = fabulous! Nice grounds there although it wasn't nice enough weather to be out of doors, I'm sure that it would be very nice on the outside patio in warmer weather. Lots of parking, lots of space. Nice place.

A regular visitor here for a cheap good quality meal different nights offer a different deal which all include a drink offering great value for money

Have been here several times and the quality and value for money hasn't altered always great. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Look out for the daily special even better value.

The Anglesey is our local - and a great place for a no-nonsense evening meal. Good range of food on the main menu as well as specials each night of the week. Friendly and helpful staff. It’s popularity says it all!

Visited here 3 times in the past 2 months, had lovely meals each time, excellent food drink and customer service! Definitely will go for more family meals there!

The first thing of note is how difficult it is to find the pub. Poorly sign posted and certainly not obvious as it's not on a main road and in fact down a dead end of a one way side road. Parking is a premium, but I have never seen the carpark full.

This was our 4th visit. This time on a Thursday afternoon. 8 family members.

Came here with my partner and was pleasantly surprised. We were warmly greeted and served at the bar and the food we had was fantastic. Great price great service and I would highly recommend this pub/restaurant it's reasonably priced and the staff are awesome

I'm always amazed how good the food is for the price, well cooked and presented. They keep a good pint and the service is brilliant. You always feel you get more than you pay for

We booked this venue for my girlfriends dads wake has it was his local for a long time, the room was brilliant, the food was better than the room and the staff better than food.

The food is sooo cheap. 2 meals for under £10, you can't complain about that

Just back from eating here tonight with my sister and mum. The food is always lovely, all freshly cooked and the staff are nice too. I had my usual fried halloumi with chips and mushy peas which was of the usual fabulous standard.

Came here for Sunday lunch with my family Gammon was dry thin and was definately not 10 oz and probably from the day before absolutely abysmal my son had steak and ale pie which I normally like tasted cheap and nasty and sweet and sickly the other usual deep fried pub rubbish was nothing special either don't bother giving me the fake email address because hungry horse green king etc your all the same no wonder pubs are closing the rate they are shame on you Anglesey arms yuk!!!!!!!

We visited for the first time today. The menu had lots of choice and we both went with the topside of beef Yorkie wrap. It was delicious and very filling. The pub is well furnished and we will definitely be visiting again to try something else from the menu

had a meal on Saturday night glad we booked as it was busy, staff were very friendly and worked really hard cleaning and clearing tabels, food excellent freshly cooked and piping hot, it was really good basic food, which you got enough of as well, would highly recommend this lovely village pub to anyone, dont expect the ritz tho but well worth going you wont be disappointed, we will be going again, if you go at weekend best to book to avoid disappointment oh and it has been nicely refurbished

Una muy buena comida a un precio muy razonable, tienen días especiales cada día. La comida está bien preparado y muy buena relación calidad-precio, incluyendo bebidas.

Buena comida, personal cortés y eficiente, en un pub encantador locales ¿qué más se puede pedir. Me di cuenta de otro crítico se quejaron de cerveza turbia, bien todo lo que puedo decir es que tanto mi hermano y yo tuvimos pedigrí amargo y fue perfecto. Con referencia a la comida que tuvimos la parrillada mixta y estaba caliente, muy bien presentada y abundante. Mi esposa tenía la lasaña y mi hermana en ley tenía el sobresaliente y todos nosotros quedamos muy contentos no tengo ninguna queja.

Visitamos este pub en una cena el viernes con otros 3 miembros de la familia para bebidas y comida.

Decidir visitar el pub local recién reformado para fiesta el domingo fue sin duda un error de juicio. Primera elección de Bass no estaba disponible la segunda opción, nos tomamos una cerveza que estaba nublado (pedigrí viaje desde la fábrica a un par de millas! Pino vino,) y que era muy agradable. Nuestra entrantes eran una buena relación calidad-precio y muy bonito. Gracias a Dios teníamos entradas aunque el asado del domingo era agradable para una cantidad de carne vegetariana patatas asadas muy poco era estaban bien Yorkshire pudding tía la Bessie hace un trabajo mejor, no se ha visto desde la extranjería Smash a casa hasta hoy, y demasiado verduras, salsa era bonito! ! Nuestra otra comida era medio pollo asado con patatas fritas. Las patatas fritas eran bonitas pero el pollo estaba muy recocido y pequeño

The refurbishment makes this a much more pleasant place to visit. There are one or two teething problems but full marks to manager who is on top of things and doing a brilliant job of pulling it all together with a rooky staff. The food is served up in a pleasant fashion, it's not haute cuisine but it's hot and tasty and good value for money, will give it another try when initial flurry of activity dies down. I have given it a very good based on the type of establishment and the hard work of the manager not comparing it to more upmarket venues if that makes sense.

We use this pub regularly for lunches with friends who live close to it. It has always been good value for money but the premises have now been refurbished throughout during the past couple of weeks and they have made an excellent job of it. The menu is a wide range of pub food - nothing too fancy and at very reasonable price. The service is quick and cheerful, the bar staff friendly and polite, the range of beers and wines very good. There are daily specials (Tuesday's is a burger meal and a pint or a wine for £5.49 - Wednesday's is a pie and a drink for £5.99) and a range of dishes at 2 meals for £8.99 every day. There is plenty of car parking, a garden with lots of benches which is also dog friendly.Well worth a visit!

Went for lunch had the burger and pint also others had the steak.The food was really nice and did not take to long to get to the table.Staff were good to.

It's in need of a lot of TLC but even if you look past that the miserable women on the bar, on the two occasions I've been, finally stopped me from going anymore. The place is as shabby as her attitude I feel that maybe the food and drink are priced too cheaply to spend money on the place.

This pub is always busy. Staff are very friendly and the service is very good. Good quality food at low prices. Ideal for any occassion.

When you don't fancy cooking, this place take some beating. Exceptional value for money, great choices, good ambiance , and very acceptable food. Can't knock it
