Had a 'Blue Burger' as a lockdown takeaway which my wife and I had been looking forward to for a number weeks. We were not disappointed. The burgers were extremely generous and very tasty. The home made Cole slaw was a great side dish. Definitely going back for more.

While helping a friend move house we stopped on 2 consecutive days for breakfast and boy, were we glad we did. Charming staff, friendly, attentive and super efficient. The food was AMAZING. Just super impressed. Quite possibly the best breakfast stop we've ever made. Once our friends are settled and receiving visitors I'll be sure to incorporate a stop at the Angel, for another epic full English.

I went for a lovely lunch with a friend, I tried the quiche (fresh from the oven) with goats cheese, red onion and red pesto. Delicious! It came with lots of lovely, different salads, colourful and tasty: a feast for all the senses. My friend had the all day breakfast, you simply can't go wrong with that for quality and value. As I was going in I overheard 2 workmen who were leaving saying that it was the best full English they'd ever had! Well worth a visit, the staff are friendly and attentive and it's a pretty, charming old building too with a nice atmosphere. Enjoy!

My family visited The Angel Cafe today after a long drive. They had stopped serving lunch at 2pm. We arrived at 2.30pm. Despite this, the lovely, friendly staff reopened, started all their cookers up again and ensured we had a delicious hot meal. Not a lot of establishments would have done this. Many would have turned us away. We appreciated it so much. And the food really was lovely. I recommend it highly.

Nice find of a local cafe, that was almost full at 10am in the morning. Wide selection of food - from full english breakfast, pies, sandwiches to pancakes. Unfortunatelly whole experience was spoiled by food arriving "luke-warm" and when asked staff to re-heat I had to wait almost another 10 minutes.

Lovely food and service but its really annoying that there are no menu's on the tables and you have to stand at the counter and read the menu on the wall, I ended up ordering something i didn't really want as i felt rushed, its nice to be able to sit down with a menu and take a little time to choose.

Checked online that they sell sausage rolls only to drive round trip of 50 miles to be told they are only stocked at weekends! Jimmy and I decided to stay anyway and were offered Scotch eggs as a suitable alternative. At £2.60 each they were tasty and good value, think they are home made. The staff here are very welcoming and overall it was worth the trip.

I visited Angel Cafe yesterday lunchtime with my friend who had described it as "quirky". We were able to sit inside and whilst it was snug, I thought the decor was very tasteful and it wasn't overly noisy. We both ordered the homemade quiche with salad which was DELICIOUS. The colourful salad was beautifully arranged on the plate. It was just under £8 which I felt was very reasonable. The service was great and we didn't have to wait too long for our food to arrive. I meet up with some friends for breakfast once a week. We used to visit different restaurants and then hit upon the Angel Cafe about 2 years ago. Since then we very rarely go anywhere else. Nowhere else has been able to match the quality of food. We tend to have a cooked breakfast but it is certainly not the greasy offering provided elsewhere. Perfectly cooked and presented, friendly, attentive staff, and comfortable seating inside and out. What more could you ask for. I travel over 25 miles for my breakfast - and its worth it.

Well I don't know if two out of three people who wrote the last reviews went to somewhere else but I had an amazing breakfast, It was my first time there and I ordered a full English with poached egg and an Americano. I wasn't sure what to expect but when the coffee arrived with a beautiful crema on the top I knew I was in for a great experience. The food which, admittedly took a little while to come, was excellent. The bacon and sausages were some of the best I've tasted and the poached egg was done perfectly. I would rather wait for something cooked to order every time rather than have something that has been sitting around in an oven or bain marie for an hour. The service was very friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this café to anyone. As for the reviewer saying that they couldn't have an umbrella, you must have known this before you sat down, alternatively if it was a blistering hot day you had two other options, sit inside or come prepared with a hat. But then, someone else probably ties your shoelaces for you in the morning.

Arrived on a hot day, there were 4 tables outside only one with an umbrella. Asked if we could have an umbrella were told they only had 2 & 1 broke. It was 12.50 in the afternoon & we ordered 2 cheese baps. We were told they had ran out of rolls, and had one granary bap left! We said one of us would have a sandwich. The drinks came with no ice, and the waitresses were miserable. We waited 40 minutes for our food although there were 5 people working behind the counter and it was not that busy! When they brought the food out, both were sandwiches, we said we had ordered the last granary bap but they said they had ran out and it was the same price anyway. Hardly satisfactory that they subsitute your food without the decency of letting you know first. The food was ok, and was good value but for a cafe to run out of baps before lunchtime, is ridiculous. They also didn’t bring out any cutlery for out salad garnish, when I went in they said it should have been brought out to us but it wasn’t. Badly managed and poor service due to extensive wait for 2 cheese sandwiches, no smile or apology for serving up the wrong food, and need to get someone on board who is capable of ensuring there is enough stock. I’ve never been to such a poorly managed cafe. Will not go back.

Today though we settled for one of the delicious looking sausage rolls temptingly sitting on a plate in the display cabinet. Now, being a very big fan of sausage rolls I can honestly say ( we all agreed ), that these were some of the best I/we have ever eaten. When I say faultless, I have to qualify this by saying that there is a fault in eating at The Angel, and that is that it will spoil you for going anywhere else.If you fancy breakfast, be it scrambled eggs and smoked salmon or a simple bacon sandwich to the full English, you won't find better. Equally if you fancy something with salad, it could be quiche or Welsh rarebit, jacket potato, scotch egg or whatever Jane and the brilliant staff have made that day, you won't be disappointed. It doesn't make any difference if The Angel is really busy, which it does get by those of us lucky enough to have discovered it, the standards never ever slip.I also have to rave about the coffee, again the best, and served in proper big white cups, no skinny glass mugs for the latte here.I could go on, but I shall stop now and just say please do visit.

Really impressed with the service, and the food, we received here. As a fairly noisy family of five we often have to ask for a table, but it was a quiet time at the Angel Cafe by all accounts and we were made to feel welcome from the offset. The staff were really attentive and helpful, in particular the lady who took the time to issue us (tourists!) with a map of the area and gave us advice about shops, the market etc. You can also read about the history of the place, which I found very interesting. The food was fab, the children opted for pancakes (homemade) and the lady very kindly suggested they have one each instead of the usual portion of two to start off with; she was absolutely right and that saved us buying two and then the food being wasted. My son had a milkshake and got sone extra as the lady had made too much, which pleased him no end. There was a great selection of games for the children to play and that really helped keep them entertained while we, their harassed parents, ate our breakfast! I opted for the veggie breakfast which was amazing (they make their own vegan sausages) and my husband said the scrambled eggs in his full English were some of the best he'd ever had. It was £32 for all of us, which I would say is reasonable - we had a drink each with our meals, and the food portions were very generous. Really pleased!

My partner and I stopped in for lunch with one child. No one acknowledged us when we walked in and after a few minutes I approached a woman behind the counter who asked what I wanted. I asked what vegetarian options were available and she very blankly looked at me shrugging her shoulders. She eventually said that they had a vegetarian breakfast on offer. She was quickly interrupted by another staff member saying "no, haven't got any". I said, "ok, what are your vegetarian options please?", only to be greeted with the same vacant uninterested look. Another woman just said, "eggs". I said that I didn't eat eggs and she just shrugged her shoulders threw her arms in the air and repeated "eggs". Very rude and made no effort to suggest anything else to me. As we left, we heard them ask the people behind us if they were vegetarians and then laughed! I most certainly would not recommend. Very disappointing attitude.

Went to the Angel Cafe in Diss for breakfast. It's not the biggest of places but on a reasonable day you can sit outside which is preferable to the inside. Friendly welcoming staff. Everything we had was excellent, freshly cooked and using good quality ingredients - the latter where a lot of other establishments let themselves down. You need to remember to take cash as they don't take cards ( but they were so nice and trusting they let me return to settle up!). We've been to a few cafes locally and fair to say the Angel cafe tops the list.

The food was pretty good, the decor was 50% of the way there - too many tables squashed into a small room for my liking. The service was good, I was asked if I was happy with my food 3 times by different waitresses.. they each asked as they walked past, excessive yes, but charming none the less.. and a great deal better than not being asked at all!

We are always looking for a nice place to get good coffee and cakes, when on our regular cycle rides. While out this week we arrived at the Angel Cafe ready for a break and were delighted to find fresh coffee and delicious homemade cakes and pies, served to us by friendly staff, one of whom was the proprietor, who makes a lot of the fresh baked items. They are open from Tuesday to Sunday and are cyclist friendly, though you should ring ahead to warn them if there are a lot of you. The also have a kids menu and I'll certainly be going back with my 3 year old grandson. They will definitely be our regular stop on the next rides we do

Met friends for morning coffee where the team went way and beyond to make sure all was well. The food looked so good we stayed for a light lunch. Choosing the home made scotch egg and salad was an excellent choice, absolutely delicious Looking forward to our next visit.

This cafe is fairly small, and some of the seating is a bit hard to access, but it is comfy and cosy.Food and drink is ordered at a counter near the entrance and the eating area is separated by a doorway. The food in the refrigerated display looks fresh and appetising. I have eaten breakfast here several times. The Eggs Royale, which is like Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon are divine. The Full English is good, with great quality sausages. The coffee has a lovely flavour, and the cappuccino is frothy.Price wise it's not bad. The only real reservations I have are that it is a little claustrophobic been there are more than half a dozen others there - and I would really prefer to sit down and be waited on rather than have to stand at the counter to order. That said I still prefer this cafe to anywhere else locally.

I ride out to Diss regularly and since Jane took over at the Angel I won't go anywhere else. The mini breakfast is perfect for a cold cyclist - not so large it slows you down. Coffee and tea are good and all the cales and tarts are made on the premises and excellent - nearly as good as my mum's and there is no higher praise! Jane and the staff are very welcoming and service is great.
