Simply put, the best fish and chips in fleet! Staff have always been friendly and over the years things haven’t changed. Still polite, still friendly and still keeping very busy! I’m not surprised to see the queue going out the door upon arrival. Very popular and well worth the wait and £££. Happily recommend to anyone!

Haven't visited for a while and the food used to be good. Today the batter on our fish all stuck to the paper and the chips were broken and mushy.

11.75 for Grease sodden battered fish and soggy chips. The chip portion appeared smaller than usual too. 3rd visit and the last. I ordered just after opening. Maybe this was the reason(inexcusable) for poor quality serving. With the batter removed, the fish (plaice) tasted really nice. A shame it was ruined by the oily soggy batter and very soft soggy chips. Ate the fish chuck the batter and chips in the bin. Waste of money. I won’t be returning !!

First time here.Fabulous fish and chips, went on Friday lunch and they were really busy so had to wait 10-15 minutes. This was purely through amount of orders as staff worked so hard and were really efficient. It was well worth the wait and will now always use this fish shop.

Really bad, they ended up in the bin. Has it changed hands as the chips taste horrible, had a chemical flavour. 🤮

Just got fish and chips here tonight and not visited for a long time. I have to say they were the best fish and chips I've had in a very long time. The cod was cooked to perfection, melt in the mouth, the batter was light and crispy and not greasy in any way,,, the chips were great too and was very happy,,, it's not my closest fish and chip shop but I am happy to travel a bit further to get the very best. Big thank you for doing what you do,,, will be back very soon and a regular customer from now on...# perfect chippy... 👌

Been our local chippy for around 2 years now and we come at least once a month, fish is honestly the freshest I’ve ever had from a takeaway and deserves a 5* review! Veg curry rolls are great too!

We thought this was the best place for miles. Still love the chips, but the cod....hmm. The past two times been disappointed with it. Batter was thin and soggy with oil and you may as well order a small cod as the large is marginally bigger. If this is a large, then what's a small? The lemon is small in this photo. I think we will start looking at other places even if further away.

Fish was overcooked but batter nice. Chips though were soggy and tasteless. Barely ate any of them. Shame as I have been abroad and looking forward to this meal for a long time. Service apparently was pretty awful too. Apparently my husband hadn't followed the rules about ordering before hand but eyes to the sky was not really necessary. He said he would try and do better but maybe we should try elsewhere next time. Sadly disappointing.

Our regular chippy, service is great - the guys in there are always lovely. Food is super yummy and large portions. Great value for money.

Absolutely delicious fish and chips in a sturdy cardboard container to eat in the sunshine in the nearby park. Light as air crispy batter and flakes of pure white cod. Chunky chips with no greasy residue and a dinky little pot of peas. Friendly servers and all cooked fresh. Lovely treat.

I'm particular about my fish and chips. I'm diabetic, so I can't indulge all of the time. When I do, then, it has to be worth it.Over the 13 years that we have lived in Fleet, we have tried a number of offerings, including having them delivered.Eventually, curiosity about the reviews on TripAdvisor prompted me to make the trip across town to Ancell's for a Friday treat.From almost the first visit, the staff knew my face and I'm greeted warmly on arrival. It wouldn't make any difference if they insulted me, to tell you the truth. I'd still make the trip for the quality of the food and the generosity of the portions.I could just be a good boy, and eat the fish out of the batter, but that would not do this chippy justice. It's well worth spending my carb allowance on the real thing, so mine is a Haddock & Chips, thank you.Mushy peas are worth the effort, too, which is not always the case elsewhere.Looking forward to our next indulgence.

we got a takeaway to our office for lunch and there was an option for a small cod and mini chips which was great as I didn't want a full portionbut when I unwrapped it, half the batter came off the fish onto the paper, which was a bit of a shame, it was kinda wet and not crispy so came off the fishother than that it was nice...

Popped in for some dinner and the lad in there had just locked up ! Disappointed - however he saw my disappointment and bless him opened up the shop and took my order fantastic customer service - we always use this chippy and the food is always superb ! This was just above and beyond !! Thank you for saving Saturday night tea !!

We have used Ancell's Fish and Chips since they first opened about once a week. Like the chips - good portion sizes. Nice vege burgers.

Always on a Friday night there is a massive queue for the shop, which does show how good the food is but the service is awful!!

For Fish and Chips of this standard, they should be charging far more... We popped in after a business meeting having had a recommendation from colleagues. And WOW...! Simply the best food this side of Michelin stars. Vist now, you won't be disappointed.

I had fish and chips from this place several times and was never disappointed. The two chaps who work here are always rushed off their feet but the never dropped their quality. If you have never tasted their generous portions of fish and chips, you are missing a ot friend!

We always get our fish & chips here & have done for years, they are the best in Fleet. Not at all greasy & taste great. There is always a long queue outside the door every Friday evening even before they open until about 8pm, so they're clearly doing something right! (We usually get ours on a Thursday when it's less busy). The guys are also very friendly.

Not our closest Fish and Chip shop but by far the best of the many we have tried. The owners and staff are friendly and efficient and doesn’t take long for a full shop to get served. As a Coastal girl, I away think Fish and Chips taste best by the sea. However The staff at Ansells Have changed my mind on that. A good range of usual Fish and other things to go with chips and if they would only part with the recipe of their batter!

Rated highly for a reason - the fish & chips here are great. The fish is cooked in a light batter that is not too greasy and the fish come in three sizes - small, medium or large. Chip portions too come in small, medium or large - unless you have a large carb desire, go small as the large chips is huge!

The guys (and girls) here are really friendly. The food is really good too. Queues can be really long, especially on a Friday and Saturday, so be prepared for a wait .... but it's worth it.

Having tried every Fish and Chips shop in Fleet and Church Crookham we now always return to this establishment. Only problemis that they have a great reputation which means on busy days/times there are queues of up to 30/40 minutes as all the food is cooked fresh.

Fuimos en hechos. mi pedido y este era increíble todo estaba fresco, una espera de unos 10 minutos, pero vale la pena. . . La comida era maravillosa, y a £6. 00 excelente relación calidad-precio, el motivo de esta gran relación calidad-precio es un negocio bien gestionado. . . No malgastes significa más ganancias y menos probable que el cliente aumenta. . . . Excelente volveré.

Since the old favourite fish and chip shop changed hands I have only used Ancell's and the queues on a Friday night are testament to just how good this one is. As long as I get home quickly even the chips are still brilliant

Discovered by recommendation, this is the best chippy I've ever been to. Proper chunky chips and fishes cooked to order. Always hot and delicious. The staff are always welcoming and very friendly. I've tried cod and plaice both very nice and very reasonably priced. Keep up the good work lads!!!

The staff are friendly and all the food is very good and the fish is cooked to order. The fish in particular is delicious, with crispy batter and firm, tender fish. Plenty of parking outside,in a small parade of shops. There can be a five minute wait for it to be cooked but you know that it is fresh and as hot as it can get.The chicken is also very good.This is my preferred Fish & Chips takeaway in Fleet and I was recommended to go there in the first place.

I have used this Fish & Chip Shop on many occasions and been completely happy. Tonight however, it was a complete disaster. The Chips were cold when I arrived home three or four minutes later, the fish was stale and unappetising. I hope I wasn't the only disappointed patron.

Caffe Lusso based on Ancells Farm, Fleet is a fab little family run coffee shop perfect for breakfast, lunch and anything in between! The food and drink is delicious and the service is great. It's a lovely atmosphere and cater for everyone. The kids love the books provided - and they all have their 'favourite'! I'm lucky enough to live close by so this is a regular haunt for me as its so nice!
