Very large portions of cod great chips and good price can't fault them best value in margate cash only

Have used ,this chippy for years, a few weeks ago i got my usual,haddock,rock,and large chips,it was nearly all batter,but thought this was a one off,so returned last night (friday 17th march) ordered the same as usual,my rock was ok,but mostly batter,however my wifes haddock was massively overcooked ,dry,and 75% batter,she said there was about 2 spoon full of actual fish,they also put a very small extra bit in, which had virtually nothig inside a massive amount of batter.will not be returning here,such a shame it has gone downhill. yours (Dennis the menace)

Smashing family run traditional fish and chip takeaway. Batter is outstanding - tempura crisp. Chips are insanely generous. Service is lovely, felt like a regular on my first visit. Can't fault them.

We have been using this Chippy for sometime now and cannot fault it. Definitely the best fish n chips in Thanet. Always fresh and hot.

Never disappointed! Alfie's does the best fish and chips, also lovely giant veg curry spring rolls. They are very busy as it is always fresh and hot.

For cheerful, friendly and value for money this is about the best F & C bar we have yet to try. Always more than we can eat! It is a take-away fish and chip bar.

Holidaying in Kent, we decided to head to Margate for seaside fun and fish & chips. Picked Alfie’s from Trip Advisor based on rating and reviews and we weren’t disappointed. We called the night before to double check opening times, and rocked up at midday. Our order was cooked fresh and well worth the wait. Beautifully battered fish and great chips, golden and crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Peas fritters were made fresh too and fabulous. Mega portions and very good value for money and the service was warm, friendly and efficient. If we lived in the area, we’d be regulars but we’ll definitely call in next time we visit.

Unbelievable portions sizes!!!! Fish is enormous and enough chips in a portion to feed a family of 4. Very tasty and lovely friendly people who run it.

This is fish and chip shop is simply the best around the portion are of great value and are huge! The staff are friendly and welcoming! If you ever want fish and chips this is the place to go. We introduce it to my family and now we both don’t go anywhere else.

Friendly and welcoming, fantastic food, great value for money. Nearly every piece of fish cooked to order and cooked to perfection. Purely a take away, unfortunately no cafe attached but the food is a delight.

By far the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The biggest portions for good prices. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I own a care home in margate and I'm forever ordering from Alford as my clients love there food. It is always cooked fresh and never to oily. Great price and very friendly staff highly recommend if your looking for a good fish and chips.

Especially drive from Ramsgate to Margate to get my fish & chips it was so delicious I haven't tasted anything like this before ,I had curry sauce fish & chips and savloy would highly recommend this place any time. Worth the journey .

Necesitaba comprar algunas pescado y patatas fritas localmente para un compañero de trabajo ya que en realidad fuimos pasando la tienda y me di cuenta de que así se volteó y fuimos por dentro. Me tomó lo que estaba listo y un pescado porción de patatas fritas. Mi amigo me dijo que era realmente agradable y fresco y el precio era así bien. La próxima vez que se utilice esta tienda a mi mismo para probar.

YUM YUM fresh cooked fish to order no dried up lumps chips amazing and portions huge. Price so cheap as a DFL (down from London) I will definitely go again. Lovely friendly couple run it and if you read alll the other reviews you will see how popular the place is.

This place sells some of the best fish and chips in Margate. I had a nice big cod, very fresh and perfectly cooked, and a generous portion of chips. I sat in my can and ate them, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not overly expensive either.

All the sausages were really overcooked and the chips not much better. Fish looked ok but i didn't have it.

Excellent chips the cod was cooked perfectly and had a lovely flavour. The shop is lovely and clean and the staff always very friendly.Great value and good portions.We get take away from here regularly and have not been disappointed.

Far too much for me to eat. But very, very nice food and service. It's that good I have to fight my cat to get my fish.
