Ordered on line through just eat. Wish I had read the reviews before I ordered. Absolutely disgusting. £45 worth of absolute inedible food! Over cooked lamb, soggy bread, pasties are supposed to be crispy and just soggy mess, the whole lot ended in the bin!!! Please read reviews, don’t do it. It was for an anniversary meal, really spoilt the day!

The takeaway from here and the service and food was appalling. I placed an order online via Justeat at 16.30pm and was given an estimated delivery time of approx one hour. At 17:55pm later nothing had arrived so I contacted them and they informed me the food was on it's way. At 18:17pm still no food and again they said it was on its way ? At 18.51pm still no food and again the same excuse. My worry was that our food was going to be cold but they assured me this would not be the case. At 19.20pm the delivery driver finally arrived with our food. The box was wrapped in layers of cling film to try and keep the heat in I presume ? The chips were cold and hard. The meat was cold, dried up and the lamb was very fatty and chewy. On a plus the salad was the only decent part of it. We have never experienced delays or service like this before and I am not one for complaining as can appreciate it's busy at rush hour but this was ridiculous and I was shocked by the overall service. It's such a shame as we live in Gateshead and are trying to source a Lebanese takeaway that we like and can order regularly from. I have informed Justeat who responded to my complaint efficiently but I will never use this takeaway or restaurant in the future.

Service was great, food was poor. Lamb kebab was tough, salad was flavoured with a dressing I found unpleasant. I’ve eaten in many “Lebanese” restaurants but won’t return to this one.

Ordered 3 items from here at 8pm, was told they would arrive at 8:50. After it didn’t I called the restaurant enquiring where it was and the woman on the phone said it would be 30 more minutes. After 40 minutes with no delivery I called again and the same lady said it would be another 20 minutes. I asked if it was definitely on its way she said yes and I asked for some compensation and she said no. Another 40 minutes and I called again with no answer. Still have no idea where my food is 3 and a half hours later and experienced some awful customer service

I have eaten at the Bake one before, but never been to the original, my husband and I decided to order from there on the weekend. I would NEVER eat there again. The first meal arrived missing half the things advertised, the meat was the most dry tasteless thing I have ever had. So I called and complained, they tried telling me the meal doesn't come with rice and chips, despite it being on the menu, and they said they would replace the food. So I drove all the way there and picked up my new meal. When i saw it it didn't look half as dry so i figured it must be better, boy was I wrong. It was tasteless and chewy, the rice wasn't the usual vermecelli rice with flavouring and the chips with barely cooked. Considering the meal on the website comes to a total of around "48 the only thing we enjoyed was the hummus - and they don't even have the excuse it was busy, because there was only one table in there when i turned up.

Delivery was on time but extremely disappointed with the food. Nothing like it used to be, ordered two chicken wraps with garlic sauce and it might be the blandest, dryest chicken wrap I've ever had. Garlic sauce was strange too, hardly tasted like garlic and was a very weird texture. Very disappointing, ended up in the bin.

The food is great but the service is horrible … food says it takes 40 mins to deliver … but in reality the driver is never there at the specified time. If you call them up they will tell you the driver will take 15 mins but that’s just to make you keep quiet. It will be an hour now and our food still hasn’t arrived

If you want to experience rudeness from the manger, zero customer care, lying about when an order will be ready, false promises, then this is the place for you. The food BTW is salty, oily and the bread that accompanies it the worst soggy and oily I've ever experienced. The meat came in a pizza cardboard box, it was wrapped in cling film and the steam made everything wet including the soggy chips. I ended up having to pick up the order because they would not given me a delivery time after 1.5 hours had passed. £3 for me to pick upnthe order myself. Compensation? gotta be joking. A miserly couple cans of pop and I had to literally beg for those. If I sound annoyed, then this is me calm. NEVER WILL I ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN.

Well the customer service has been the worst ever!! Good never arrived, after promise after promise two hours late!!! To be told so many lies is unacceptable. I've had much better food in the price range , it's all just a bit tired and could do with a good deap clean especially the loos Plastic tumblers erm The food was okay . Very limited parking. Service was polite but after taking waiting for food we were then told certain items were not available and dinner of our party had already received their food You cannot buy alcohol here but you can bring your own . Absolutely disgusting customer service, ordered 2 wraps via Uber eats. Put special order instructions to not put sauce and halloumi cheese on 1 of the wraps. Came with expired sauce on it, bland unseasoned chicken and mozzarella cheese. Called the restaurant saying they sent the wrong order and I want a refund, the MANAGER told me “nothing I can do” and then hung up on me. I called back 3 times to again be hung up on.

Truly atrocious. The lamb was dry and overcooked, pretty much inedible, the wrap consisted of 3 lumps of it and literally nothing else (see photo). Stale, cold, unseasoned chips that were disgusting. I had heard this place was good so I went along with a friend. The restaurant was cold to the point of being uncomfortable - and it was empty which made me curious as to why on a holiday. This was a few days before New Year’s Eve. The reason for the lack of fellow diners became obvious as the evening unfolded. The service poor. The food was almost inedible. I ordered a Mango Lasi that was served up as a glass of watered down mango juice with globules of yoghurt floating unblended in it. My lamb shawarma had obviously been cooked some time in the distant past and was not yielding to the tooth. It was dried out and tasteless. Don’t go. Don’t waste your money. There are lots of choices for dining in Newcastle. This place in my view certainly isn’t one of them.

Ordered food at half 6 phoned at half 7, still waiting for driver they was rude Asif it was my fault they had too many orders I phone at 8pm still waiting on driver he swore down the phone to me. Just terrible service literally was just wanting my food was willing to wait till the unnecessary rudeness.

Be prepared to wait for over 1.5 hours. Our food inedible and smelled like rotten meat. The Bake at Gosforth is far superior, wish I'd never ordered from Byker.

Well been here a few times and a we went to go back at lunchtime asked for a table for 4 and a table for 2 as we could see the place was quite busy still had tables free probably not enough space for 6 hence why I asked for two separate tables. The young waiter said 2 mins and as he said this two other groups walked up and they seemed to have either known him or were family or friends? The young waiter said something to the first group looked over at us and said to whoever these people were dont worry come with me! Sat them at a table which we could have had. As I turned and looked at a member of our group to my to my frustration this happened again with another group! After this we could only see 1 table free!!! First come first served as no booking system???? As I have said we have ate there before quite a few times and the food is average much nicer places in town if you are looking for this food! We ended up at Red Mezze. Much nicer and service was second to none! Actually cheaper too! I can safely say this will be the last time we spend our money at The Bake!

Ate in where as most of the reviews on here are for takeaways. Very quiet when we were there on a Friday evening at 8pm. Food was nice and all came at once starters and mains which is preferable to me as you can share around and mix and match. Free bread and sauces too. Doesn’t serve alcohol (it’s Lebanese) but you can bring your own in and there is a Morrisons across the road. Tap water supplied as standard with zero pressure to buy expensive soft drinks.

DON'T ORDER A TAKEAWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT I placed an order on Uber Eats and it was 30 minutes late, I called and they said it was on its way. 30 minutes later I tried calling again three times and no-one picked up the phone. Worst Lebanese in Newcastle- a mixed grill should be more than 3 chicken cubes, 4 chicken wings and a handful of frozen chips. Food arrived 1hr late, bland/tasteless and was cold and soggy. There are far superior Lebanese restaurants in Newcastle, I recommend avoiding this place.

This used to be such a nice restaurant, the food was always so tasty with lots of fresh herbs on each dish. I ordered chicken Provisal which I tend to order most often, in the past, it has been coated in fresh lemon, chopped garlic with plenty coriander. Today's chicken arrived with absolutely no marinade or any other sauce. It was the most bland, dry chicken. Its so disappointing to see such little effort. I spent £55 on 3 dishes so its not exactly cheap either. Our other dish was just a chicken kebab but, this was identical to the Provisal, pasty & dry with not one bit of marinade. In fact, they didn't even look like they'd been anywhere near a charcoal grill. Even our salad had DRIED herbs opposed to the usual lovely fresh mint and parsley. The rice wasn't like it used to be and the garlic sauce was a gloopy, artificial splodge of crap. Come on guys, if you can't be bothered to provide what you advertise then just close the place and stop wasting our hard earned money. Such a shame.

Absolutely vile! We bought 3 wraps they were all filled with scraps off a chicken, really stale and full of bones! Totally avoid this place, delivery took a long time too and no one to answer the phone either!

Appalling effort. My pregnant wife has ordered from this place and she’s been craving Shawarma lamb wrap with chips. I have just ordered from this horrible restaurant using Uper Eats app, I have ordered shawarma wrap, it was horrible and makes me sick, half of the chicken pieces was burnt and the other half was not cooked properly, I swear some of them are raw chicken. So, first time ordering from this place and it will be the LAST TIME. I placed the order on Deliveroo and was confirmed 14:27. Tracking was not available but ETA was 15:40. I rang the restaurant 15:46 and I was told that the driver “had an accident” and promised me it will be 15-20 mins. I don’t want to sound insensitive but after reading the reviews from other customers, they seem to have a reputation for being late so it’s hard to believe that their driver had an accident. If that was the case, I’m sorry but if it’s not then it shows what kind of character these people work for the restaurant that they had to make up an elaborate lie just to justify their lateness. The funny thing is the restaurant is only 10 minutes drive away from me, I don’t drive hence I wanted my food delivered. The food arrived 16:25 and it’s cold, soggy and just mushy. The food, taste wise, was abysmal. Very disappointing.

This is the second time we tried ordering from here, so were absolutely not surprised and yet still managed to get disappointed. Don't bother wasting your money and time. I rarely leave reviews, but this has actually been a joke. Ordered food at 8pm, got estimate time delivery of around 8.50-9.15. Got a call from this place saying sorry food will be 20mins late - okey, no bother, places can get busy that's fair enough (although how busy are you on a Tuesday night???). So far so good. Then the food doesn't arrive till 22.20. Over 2 hours after ordering, on a not usually busy night at all. Everything is cold and not even nice. Partner's food was literally seasoned overboiled rice and 5 tiny pieces of chicken in it - £13 that cost. My wrap was okey, but the for the price of it you'd think it would be bigger. Had the same experience last time, but with even longer wait. Just Eat won't even do anything to refund a delivery 80% of which just went straight in the bin as it was that disappointing.

Also they are selling out of date disgusting meat and tiny portions which explains why they offer reasonable prices but isn't worth the food poisoning or the value. Thankfully I didn't get to experience that and I'll never be a customer again, no point having loyalty stamp card you won't get many customers, my family used to love this place, never again! If it wasn't for just eat I would've been robbed. I guarantee your next food hygeine will turn customers away. And hopefully you are removed from these platforms after hundreds of refunds over past 2 months is enough to be kicked out, you probably ignored warnings and are asking to be shut down, hoping that some customers don't speak up. Ordered lamb and chicken shwarma wrap and the haloumi wrap. For the price you would expect more for the money considering the order came too over 20 quid!!! The wraps themselves are hard to bite into, the chips are rubbery and over all never going to get my money back. Used to be best Lebanese restaurant in Newcastle but now food is extremely poor quality. I ordered baby chicken provisol over the phone and online menu still says £12.20 but when I collected the order they charged me £15.50 by saying they discounted due to old menu on Google. Chicken was supposed to be coming with some vegetables but only had 1 burnt tomatoe and half burnt onion with sticky rice. Extremely disappointed and never ever buy anything from them again

Unfortunately I have to agree with a lot of the other comments - this place used to be really good, but I honestly wouldn't bother now. It's like they don't care, or think their reputation will carry them. Well, not for long it won't.
