We wanted to organise a cake for our wedding, nothing special just a simple cake and were willing to pay the £65 and the £25 delivery but trying to organise it was so complicated I gave up. If you have an event on a Monday or Tuesday as we did and want a cake from Ahh Toots......think again. I'll go elsewhere and pay less for better service. BTW the Victoria Sponge is like eating an old slipper.........Never again!

The picture and map seem a little misleading as the premises we visited are right next to Christmas Steps, opposite Duke & Scarlet, the best hairdresser in Bristol. That aside, however, here you will find the most wondrous selection of cakes I've evfer encountered. Like most things, cakes are a matter of taste, but I'd challenge anyone to not find anything to their taste here. My favourite, so far, is the carrot & courgette cake. I bought a slice first because it looked so irresistably good rather than a particular liking for carrots or courgettes, but the proof was in the pudding, or, in this case, the cake - it was sublime: moist, deliciously tasty and not too sweet. In short, perfect. Spurred on by this success I have subsequently tried some others and all proved to be just as tasty. My latest indulgence is a slice of croissant cake, of which I've eaten half so far (can't rush these things!). Never had anything quite like this before either but I shall keep an eye out for it again - but then there are so many others to try! Well, the waistline may be suffering a bit but next time we are in Bristol for a haircut, I shall do as Marie-Antoinette once suggested (allegedly), and eat cake. Haircat + cake - mmm, yummy!

What a brilliant find. Popped into this gem when in Bristol. My friend and local guide, Caitlin, regularly visits this place and it isn't a wonder why. It's got a real traditional vibe about it, with a whole range of sweet treats and savoury snacks to choose from. Although tempted by numerous options, in the end I went with a salted caramel brownie which was delightful. I'd love to go back and sit in next time. I'll be back.

This is my second time visiting Ahh Toots, both times were disasters as I was met with extremely rude and unhelpful staff. Today I tried to give them a second chance but I was again met with the same hostility. The lady serving had an extremely bad attitude and poor customer service when I politely asked about seating. I do not understand why this place is so hyped up with horrible attitudes like that. Definitely not worth the hype at all. I would definitely not recommend coming here, I would recommend going to Mrs Potts Chocolate House on park street instead.

Can't fault this wee café at all. Smelled the aroma of the cakes from down the street and couldn't believe the wide range of vegan cakes they had. Staff are so friendly and really make you feel welcome. Went back another morning for breakfast - had their veggie sausage, caramelised onion and kale sandwich (with an added fried egg) and honestly, it was the best breakfast sandwich I have ever eaten. Got a pumpkin spice cookie for afters and it was delicious. Coffee is lovely too. We've been to Bristol a few times and can't believe we missed it before!

Celebrating a significant birthday with a friend, I’d seen a few reviews and decided we’d give it a try. Simply the best afternoon tea I’ve ever had. Lovely, quirky cafe. Really quite cramped for space, but somehow that really didn’t matter. Our food was just wonderful. Beautifully presented and everything explained by lovely staff. Some very unusual flavours, and a lot of little treats to try. Some afternoon teas can leave you feeling bloated & unable to finish everything - but not a crumb left between us - just 2 very happy & satisfied customers!

Came to Bristol from Bath where I normally go to Mrs Potts Chocolate House. So my expectation of cakes are high for flavour and richness. Tried this hidden place because it's tucked away but was VERY busy, so assumed good. After paying over £17 for 2 cakes and 2 coffees, my and my friend sat down outside. The coffees were deinking temperature *just* right away so I went back and asked if I could have it re-made. The girl making coffees huffed and just took my cup from me, then made me another without saying anything. When the coffee was placed down she didn't say anything either. That coffee was better but not HOT, still. Onto the cakes - The icing wasn't my cup of tea, sweet and grainy... The brownie was nice and had lots of nuts. But the sponge cake was flavourless and the smallest slice! Maybe it was just that cake but I probably won't return. I think it looks amazing from a glance but style of substance maybe. I won't be changing my cake stop for now.

The window display was absolutely fabulous, and with so many wonderful looking options we found it difficult to choose. Sadly, we found that the flavours and textures of our cakes did not match the beautiful appearance, although the Earl Grey cake had better flavour. Perhaps we were unlucky with our choices, but it felt like 'style over substance'. The hot drinks were fine. Having spent almost £30 on 4 slices of cake in takeaway boxes and 3 hot drinks in cardboard cups, I felt that we could have had better value for money elsewhere and I'm afraid we will not be returning. The service lacked welcome and had an air of impatience.

This isn't my first review of Ahh Toots, however, it is my first review of the Afternoon Tea experience and OH MY JOLLY GOSH. It's incredible. I've been to two separate afternoon tea experiences at Ahh Toots over the last year and both times the guys at Ahh Toots have been attentive, creative, considerate and just as delicious as their bakes. The afternoon tea cakes/scones/sandwiches/starters are all 1000/10 on the scale of tastiness. Great flavour combinations, lovely portions (plenty to take away!) and beautifully presented. I ended up booking my grandparents for afternoon tea as a Christmas present, which they attended today. I've just received a phonecall from my Grandad who was nearly in tears (!) saying what a lovely time they've had. When I visited a week ago, the guys there said they'd make sure my grandparents were seated in a booth rather than a high stool to ensure they were most comfortable, which they did. I'm so grateful to Ahh Toots for being our regular dog walk pit stop, for being the go to place for a happy snack, for allowing us to try something delicious and new every time we visit and now, for creating lovely new memories for my family. Forever grateful.

The staff are fun and friendly even when busy and I always like to visit when I’m nearby. This time two of us went for something different, the vegan carrot and apple cake. Unfortunately the slice we received was significantly smaller than cake I’ve had here from the past and still cost 3.50! They had also formed a crumbled mess in the box despite being the first two slices. The cake itself was very hard and dry, unlike what you’d expect from a moist carrot cake and didn’t carry much flavour except the very strong coconut flavour of the icing. I will return again and choose something else but had to explain to my visiting friend that it must had been a bad day as I’ve had some of the best cakes here in the past!

The establishment has limited seating and we were lucky when visiting to grab seats but the cakes are of a level where a takeaway is well worth going for.

Delicious cakes baked on the premises, and the sausage rolls were excellent. Informal outdoor seating. The complete opposite of all the packaged chains - informal, reasonable price, really really good quality.

A tester quand même !

One of many small food outlets in the popular St Nick’s Market, I’d heard good things about this in the local press and was keen to give it a try. Besides the cakes which they are well known for, there is also a small selection of pies/quiches in a counter and a small menu with three or four savoury options on. However, a note said that they are all cooked from fresh and that you should expect to wait 15 minutes. As I was pushed for time on a lunch break, I did not have time to wait.

My husband and I came to Bristol for the day and were wandering around the St. Nicholas markets when we came across this place. My husband had the croissant cake (which I stole a bit of too!) and I had the salted caramel brownie.

Well there were so many cakes, they look and taste delicious. There was quite a choice, you can eat in or takeaway. Make an effort to go as it would be a shame to miss this place.

Amazing range of cakes. We limited ourselves (reluctantly) to trying 2 and they were both delicious. Good job we don't live in Bristol or we'd be back every day.

We initially went to Ahh Toots hoping to sit down with a coffee and a cake, but it isn't really that type of place. Based in the Glass Arcade of St Nick's it is much more suitable for getting something to takeaway. With this in mind we ended up getting a cuppa elsewhere, but I came back later to get a couple of cakes to take home and share with my husband.

The prettiest cakes I've ever seen, which taste even better than they look. Always a varied selection & they cater for those of us with dietary requirements with vegan, gluten & dairy free cakes on the menu. I've sampled many of their cakes, plus their amazing vegan sausage rolls & have never been disappointed. They are a little more expensive than your average cake but these are not your average cake. Plus, you get a large piece, which you can often share & save a piece for later.Ordered a special cake for my mum's 60th - asked for a salted caramel brownie but in a celebration cake form. Tam provided excellent service. We were presented with a stunning chocolate cake garnished with popcorn, pretzels, chocolate curls, caramel sauce, brownie chunks & chocolate crumb.Highly recommended if you're around the St Nicks area.

The owners have a cake business, the cafe in the market showcases some of the fabulous cakes that they make. Sausage rolls have a reputation for being the best in Bristol. You can stop and watch the world go by down in St Nick's market or take away your goodies to a place of your choice. Crockery very vintage like Cox and Baloney on the Gloucester Road. I'm a big fan, I hope you become a fan too!

I only heard of this place due to sampling their sausage rolls at a taster event at a local wine merchant. I was so impressed I sought them out. Their location in St Nick's market is prime but it is quite unbelievable that they can do what they do in such a small and busy place. They serve drinks, cakes and of course sausage rolls but they are also making the cakes on site. A team of very pleasant types bustling around the crowds to get to the tables made the whole experience fun and enjoyable. And the cakes, oh the cakes. I love cakes - these were the finest I'd had in some time. Make it part of your Christmas expedition

I had the good fortune to taste a cake from Ahh Toots company and I was blown away by the flavour of the deep moist chocolate and Guinness that hit my taste buds. Full of buttercream and a stunning design and the cake was decorated with a textured variety of glitters, fruits and chocolate curls. It was a truly magical cake with a flavour that will always stay with me. 10/10

I stumbled across Ahh Toots by accident and thought it absolutely wonderful. The displays were stunning. The variety was mind boggling and everything was hygienically handled, home made and priced fairly. I tried the White Chocolate and Peanut Butter Blondie and my husband had the Rocky Road. Each cake was £2.50 and totally worth every delicious penny. Service was lovely and very friendly. I'll make a beeline for it next time I'm in Bristol.

We stopped by to pick up cakes to take to friends' for dinner. We had a selection of 6 different ones. Not cheap at £18 but definitely a lovely treat. There was lots of choice for vegans and non vegan too. The croissant cake, courgette & lemon and earl grey and orange were favorites. Some were nicer than others but these were the best.Friendly staff and beautifully displayed.

Really fancied some cake after walking for hours around Bristol, are scarily I was struggling to find something suitable until we happened upon this little gem. On the day we visited they had around 3 gluten free offerings and I opted for the Orange and Earl Grey tea cake and it was just delicious, as was the Americano coffee I opted for to go with it. Will definitely be back in the future.

Wandered round the St Nicholas market for a while and got tempted to stop here for a light bite. Good decision. The cakes looked fantastic but went for the sausage roll and side salad. Seriously the best sausage roll ever! Incredibly meaty and tasty. Only reason why this doesn't get top rating is that seating is limited and we got dripped on from the roof as it was chucking it down outside. Not their fault I know but still affected the experience.
