First time visiting for a Sunday roast and everything was brilliant! The atmosphere is lovely, the service was great (the birthday card on our table was such a lovely extra) and the food was delicious. Can't wait to return!

Nice relaxed Sunday lunch. Minor negative from the vegetarians in our party was only one real choice for the roast. If you didn't like celeriac... My lamb however was lovely 😉

An absolute cracking roast dinner. I had the lamb and the wife had the belly pork, both meats so tender and delicious. Side bowls of vegetables and garlic crispy roast potatoes. Then we had deserts and oh my so so good. The crème brûlée with smokey crispy cornflakes was so devine. The cherry crumble with amaretto ice cream was also so good. But the crème brûlée stole the show all meals washed down with a mulled cider. The service was impeccable and very friendly, made to feel so welcome. Will definitely be returning.

Recently visited for a roast dinner, the food was fantastic! We went for the sharing beef which was amazing, so tender. It’s only a small restaurant so the atmosphere is really nice too.

Excellent Christmas brunch, tasty and well thought through. Only downside is the restaurant welcomes dogs and we had 2 adjacent to our table. One barked unexpectedly and the other needed a bath! Restaurant’s perogative of course but if you are not a dog person then there are tons other great places to eat. We probably won’t go back.

The Sunday roast dinner was the best we have had in a restaurant, I don't usually find the vegetables apertising but these were prepared and flavoured beautifully. The whole meal was amazing, I shared the Butter Chicken platter for two with my husband.

The best roast beef we've ever eaten. Delicious vegetables to go with it. Exceptional puddings, poached pear was fantastic. Amazing food, we'll go back anytime.

Lovely food. Everything we had was cooked to perfection. Notable dishes were the Beef Shin Nugget and the Lardo starter. Also we'd never had cooked olives before and they were a revelation. Great service too. Thank you!

Great spot specializing in open-fire cooking. Lots of different food and menu (set vs. a la carte) options to choose from with a variety of flavors suiting all palates. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable concerning both the food and the beverage pairings. The different levels of wine pairing is a nice touch as well. All of this paired with an inviting an unpretentious atmosphere make for a great experience.

Had high expectations but unfortunately wasn't as good as I was hoping. Portions of meat with the roast were a bit small, Yorkshire puddings a bit dry and my partner was given a more or less inedible piece of chewy crackling (she did get given some more which was a bit better). That said, some bits were really nice and Guinness pannacotta pretty interesting and probably best thing we had.

Great little place! Went here on Friday afternoon as a couple so not too busy but enough people in there for some atmosphere. Food was amazing, didnt know what we wanted but a very informative breakdown of the menu was given and we went for 6 small sharing plates. With pudding on top, left quite full and very happy. Couldnt find any faults at all and we look forward to returning. The whole ethos of the place is sharing so all dishes (apart from pudding) came out on 1 plate, a great item. This place is getting attention and deserves more.

Great Breakfast and a fantastic lunch

I’m fortunate to have such a wonderful place on my doorstep but if I didn’t I’d still travel to visit! One of Bristol’s absolute gems - you’ve got to visit at least once and if you do then you’ll definitely be back…!

Dinner at BANK is about surprising, inventive and seasonal food. Don’t worry about what to order as each dish is a little work of art with flavour combinations you won’t have had anywhere else. Despite this, BANK is not a pretentious ‘vibe’ restaurant lost up its own arse; it is relaxed and welcoming without being in your face. I’m normally a small plates skeptic, but I never leave disappointed here. Even my 80yo folks are fans. Deserves to be packed out all the time.

Went for dinner on Friday. Seriously impressed. Amazingly food, classy drinks, lovely space, very pleasant staff. Beautiful balance to the plates - intriguing flavour and texture combinations that really work and excite, all with a touch of fire about it. Satisfies the inner primeval (wo)man, but highly modern. At the moment plenty of availability too - go whilst you can!

Ate here on a Friday night, was amazed there were any empty tables (there weren't may tbf). Superb food, blew us away. A lovely venue which deserves to be celebrated

We finally tried Bank for a Sunday roast after a lot of nudges from a friend, and it was amazing! I’ve had my fair share of roasts in Bristol, and I can honestly say this one was my absolute favourite. The best roast in Bristol IMO. The cauliflower cheese was unreal! I’m also a huge fan of Bloody Marys, the one I had at Bank was also my favourite! What a day!! The guy who looked after us was brilliant, and we can’t wait to come back again!

Dropped into Bank for a Roast and it didn't disappoint, the food was great, the staff were attentive and the background soundtrack was on point. Can't really fault it.

We’ve been to Bank on a number of occasions since opening and it’s always been good for cocktails and food. The times we had gone before, arguably some of the dishes could be deemed ‘experimental’ however still very good. We went Saturday (31st Aug) and the food was incredible! They’ve now nailed innovative dishes with balanced flavours and textures. I’m not surprised with the UK top 100 award it’s an awesome place!

Excellent service, delicious cocktails and a menu to die for. I've been here many times with family and friends for breakfast, lunch and most recently a Sunday roast and it never fails to deliver!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was delivered hot and was very good.

Really nice place, the service was excellent and the food is great as it gives you the opportunity to try things in combination that maybe you wouldn't normally. It is a little pricey and not totally sure the price is reflective of what you get but I would definitely recommend it.

The team at BANK were fantastic, and the food was incredible. We had some complex dietary needs (gluten allergy / halal / alcohol free) and they were so accommodating, chatted us through everything. The food was 10/10. Couldn’t recommend more.

Every plate was outstanding! We'll definitely be back, thank you! My only small complaint would be that it was quite loud in the restaurant when it got busy - maybe hang some of those sounddulling "clouds" from the ceiling to sort out the acoustics?

BANK is our go-to Sunday roast restaurant. After embarking on the quest to find the best Sunday roast in Bristol, we stumbled across BANK and haven't looked back since. They do their dishes incredibly well, making sure everything is cooked to perfection whilst also adding twists and flairs that make it more exciting for a foodie than the general Sunday roast fare. In particular, their vegetables (which normally can be a bit sad in a Sunday roast) are great company to the main hero of the meal. The sharing roasts are an absolute treat, and my favourite roast to date was a roast lamb they did a while ago which also came with, what I can only describe as, a breaded and fried rolled stick of lamb deliciousness. The team at BANK are always super friendly and the restaurant has a spacious and easy going vibe. Would recommend booking ahead as well as booking for towards start of service as it tends to guarantee perfect roast potatoes. Their dinner menu is great too, but the Sunday roast is what keeps us going back.

Hands down the best roast I've ever had in more than 5 years, absolutely amazing. Service and food was 10/10, even coffe and cocktails, just perfect. Jalapeño bloody mary is just the best. Sadly we got a 10 noisy people table next to us but nothing to do with the place. Definetely I would recomend it, and I will be back.

Best Sunday roast I ever had! A bit pricey but absolutely worth it. Meat incredibly well cooked and banging Jalapeño bloody marys. The only downside is that it was a bit stuffy and noisy, as we had a 10 people table sat next to us, which made us not being able to hear each other. Anyway, I will be back to try the chicken roast. El ambiente es vibrante y el personal conocedor del menú y los vinos. Bank ofrece muchas opciones veganas/vegetarianas y sin gluten. Esto se ha convertido en un lugar para ir a un precio razonable para los productos de origen local de alta calidad que se sirven. Recomiendo encarecidamente una visita. Y una ventaja que los perros también son bienvenidos.

Pleasant restaurant in Totterdown. I've heard some good things about this roast so naturally wanted to give it a try. Firstly, staff were really attentive and welcoming. The menu allows for sharing platters as well as individual meals. I went for the pork belly, it was tasty and the garlic taste really complimented the pork belly. However the pork belly itself wasn't tender enough and the portion was quite small. The pork crackling was too tough . The rest of the roast was perfect. Yorkie pud wasnt too crispy . Roast potatoes were seasoned well and again the garlic taste was a welcomed edition. Gravy was very tasty, cabbage, sweet potato puree really added to the dish and again tasted brilliantly. Special mention of the week goes to the cauliflower cheese . The smoked red Leicester was so tasty. The one of the best I've had in Bristol

One of the best Sunday roasts me and my partner have ever had. As a vegetarian, roasts are often dry and tasteless, BANK’s veggie roast is nothing like this. The veg is crunchy and flavoursome, and the main celeriac is gorgeous. The best part of the entire meal is undoubtedly the gravy, full of salty goodness and texture. It is expensive, and small portions, but I was very full and I believe worth the cost.

Sharing beef roast was the smallest Sunday roast I ever had. Meat was delicious but there wasn’t much of it. What is more, vegetable portion was definitely only for one person. Absolutely not worth the money, both of us left feeling half hungry.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at BANK and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. We were warmly welcomed and served by Sarah, whose attentive and friendly service added to the evening's enjoyment. The food was exceptional, beginning with the Grilled Nocellara olives, which offered a unique and delightful twist on traditional olives and came in a generous portion. The smoked nuts were the perfect complement to our wine selection, adding a smoky depth that paired beautifully. One of the highlights was the burnt grape salad with Cornish octopus—an absolute divine combination of flavors and textures. The Sourdough focaccia was another standout, being both light and incredibly moreish. The wine selection was superb, and the Love O Love wine we chose was amazing, perfectly enhancing our meal. However, the true star of the evening was the Sirloin with Rendang. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the rich, flavorful Rendang sauce elevated it to new heights. The ambience at BANK was equally impressive, providing a perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. Every aspect of our visit, from the food to the service to the atmosphere, was perfect. I highly recommend BANK for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience in Bristol. We will definitely be returning!

I came here with a couple of friends for one of my birthday meals and myself and my friends loved it! They've got a mostly gluten-free menu, and honestly, every small plate we tried was a hit—no misses! We ordered all the small plates and I recommend doing the same. The vibe there is super relaxed but still feels special, perfect for dinner night out. The drinks were spot on, we tried a mix of cocktails and wine and it meant being the last ones to leave! Even though I'm all about trying new spots, I'm already planning to go back to BANK soon to check out their larger plates. Highly recommend it if you're in Bristol and looking for a great place to eat and hang out!

Five adults and one toddler went for Sunday lunch which was excellent and served a little bit differently to many other places. You can have a whole chicken to share or 20oz of sirloin beef to share. Unfortunately I was the only one that wanted beef and that would have been too much and the chicken had sold out. Went for the leg of lamb instead which was very tender and cooked to perfection. Some of the others had pork belly which was well received. Vegetables were plentiful, the best being the cabbage cooked over charcoal,. Excellent and varied wine list. Staff were brilliant and helpful , serving the toddler ice cream with our starters

Superb. Everything I wanted from a modern Sunday lunch to be. Lamb was perfectly cooked, wine recommendations great, basque cheesecake excellent. Everything was cooked really well. The hispi cabbage was chargrilled spot on, the red cabbage wasn't too sweet, the lamb was beautifully cooked. Very happy punter.

Fantastic little restaurant with a charming atmosphere. Service was incredible and the waiter clearly explained the menu and all the dishes. We got all the small plates between 2 and it worked out the perfect amount. Really interesting mix of dishes and every single one was phenomenal. Absolutely perfect for a date night or special meal!

A popular spot for Sunday lunch, we had booked some time ago to get a table, although it wasn’t perhaps quite as busy as expected. It’s a light and airy restaurant, and the staff all seemed friendly and helpful. The menu seemed a bit restricted, with both the chicken and beef options having sold out, leaving just pork belly, duck or a vegetarian option. This seemed a bit poor when they’re probably the two most popular options, but that said I assume these were “to share” anyway, although that was not mentioned on the menu. But with the (whole) chicken coming in at £36, and a 20oz Sirloin at a whopping £67, I would certainly hope that was the case. I went for the pork belly which came with crackling, black garlic and miso as well as a comprehensive set of vegetables, many of them smoked, such as the smoked garlic potatoes or smoked beetroot puree. To be honest, I was a little disappointed with the pork. It seemed quite a small portion, rolled out and only about half an inch thick, and it was definitely a little chewy in places and I didn’t really notice the miso. I’ve certainly had better. On the plus side though, the vegetables were all really very good indeed, especially the (optional extra) barbequed broccoli with a Dorset red cheese gratin, that was quite amazing. A desert of rhubarb trifle was a little non-traditional, with some sort of labneh in place of the cream as well as oats in it, but the end result was quite remarkable, it was exceptionally good, with the “cream” having a caramel tinge to it and the whole thing coming together really well. A dark chocolate ganache across the table was also well received, although it was a little more as expected and didn’t match up to the trifle. Overall, a bit of a mixed bag. It’s certainly got potential, perhaps I was just unlucky, but with the limited choice and disappointing pork, I’m not sure I’ll be rushing back.

Man! The food here is so damn good! So much tastier with way more flavours than I’ve had in ages! And its small plates so you get even more variety! We had all the veg options and were happily full afterwards! Also the atmosphere is really NICE without tipping over into too fancy and the staff are all lush!

Once again (5th time?) this bright and airy restaurant doesn't disappoint, too much. To be clear the only disappointment was that they'd sold all of the Sirloin; that can happen when the wife checks the menu before we arrive and my mind sets on the unavailable meat! Still it's nothing that the Middle White Pork Belly couldn't overcome. Started with a cocktail, which woke the palate, the Mint Eastwood. Pork belly with crackling for us both, very tasty, very tender. The charred hispi cabbage was a standout veg accompaniment, nearly as good as the roasties. Cocount rice pudding a winner for the wife and the rhubarb in my Trifle was a delight, paired with the suggested dessert wines a great finish to a lovely Sunday Roast. Fantastic service by the team. Oh and loyalty points to boot. What's not to like. We will return again when in Bristol. PS apparently you can ring ahead and reserve, which i'll bear in mind for next time!

Visited yesterday to sample the much acclaimed Sunday roast. We had pre ordered the beef sirloin and it certainly didn’t disappoint! Fabulous food, excellent service, warm welcoming atmosphere and excellent and sensibly priced wine menu! We most certainly will be spreading the word about BANK! Looking forward to our next visit soon. Thanks for looking after us so well.

Delicious food and lovely, friendly atmosphere! It was our first non-roast experience and it did not disappoint. Try a Pisco 2000 or a You Suze You Lose from their cocktail menu and their wealth of small plate options and you'll be in for a treat! Thanks Dan and team. Delicious!! We had a fantastic weekday lunch deal a few weeks ago, and then booked in for a Sunday roast on mothers day, which was everything we could have hoped for and more! It came with all the trimmings (except the cauliflower cheese, which was a little bit extra but definitely worth it) would 100% recommend

Totally in love with this place. We are very lucky to live close to Bank, but would certainly recommend this is worth travelling from further afield to check it out. Seasonal menu, very high quality small plates and a selection of larger plates, too. Definitely on the fancier side of cuisine but you are paying for very high quality food and drink. Represents very good value for money all in all. Cocktails are all very good and made with local spirits. The wine list is also completely brilliant. Fantastic treat. Worth travelling for.

We had a fantastic roast here today. My hubby had pork and I had lamb and they were both lovely. All the side veggies were delicious too and also a great negroni and Bloody Mary to start. Will be visiting again very soon!

The roasts were delicious, a perfect balance of sweet flavours from the veg and salty flavours from the gravy. The pork was so tender, there was a range of texture from the soft fat to the crispy scratching exterior.

Lovely buzzy restaurant but lots of issues. We went on a Saturday night, there were only 4 main courses on the menu and one was off by 7:30 - which we were only told after trying to order. Service was ridiculously slow. We had to wait 20 mins to order drinks which then took an age to arrive. Food took over an hour to reach us. Food was delicious but portions were very small so we asked to look at deserts - and there were only two rice pudding or white chocolate mousse. We didn’t like those so left hungry. Drinks were seriously expensive. We booked ahead and when we arrived were seated at a long sharing table with benches which we weren’t asked about on booking. Overall it felt like they had really overstretched themselves.

Food was excellent. Each small plate was complex in flavours yet the main ingredients stood out. All absolutely delicious and different. It has an added bonus of being dog friendly of which they were very welcoming to my small dog Angus.

Had a good meal - food was delicious and service was good too. However, there was a long delay to the final course coming out which meant being rushed through it to meet the table curfew, as the next table were waiting. I understand these places have to work to tight schedules, but we only had 15 minutes to eat our desserts , cheese and finish drinks. The waitress was lovely and apologetic, but we spent over £250 on the meal and it was a special occasion, so left a bit of a bitter taste.

Was very much looking forward to the Roast. Unfortunately, it did not match the price or expectation. Potatoes were cold and dry, food took over an hour to come, extremely poor service, hardly had anything on the menu and was very expensive. GO ELSEWHERE!

Excellent meal, superb service and a lovely dining room! I can't eat gluten, and the amount of options available which was GF was amazing, and the quality was superb. Really really reccomend this restaurant, 10/10!

A nice dinner but to be honest this place is a little over rated. It's also not cheap for what it is. A bottle of prosecco at £50 is outrageous. I preferred the old Bank that used to do a great breakfast!

I just dont understand the point of ‘Small Plates’ really… The food is well presented and very tasty, and I guess thats what you’re paying for? There doesnt seem to be breakfast menu any more, which is a shame, although it was limited and slightly overpriced to begin with. The 2 occasions I have visited, the staff have been pleasant and engaging, so credit to them. I guess my rating just reflects the fact that I just don’t get it.

Still my favourite restaurant in Bristol. The menu is constantly updated with fresh seasonal dishes so there is always something new to try. The barbecued duck breast was a real highlight. Recently discovered the lunch deal so even with three courses our meal ended up being very reasonably priced. Staff always lovely and happy to explain the menu so you can be confident ordering. Will be visiting again for the highly rated Sunday roast asap!

Have been several times and the food has been simply excellent every time. I would especially recommend the tasting menu or Sunday roast (can't go wrong!). The staff are always friendly and attentive, and clearly know the menu well so offer real honest recommendations, and I like that you are attended to as soon as you are seated. It is a real gem of a place.

After looking forward to visiting Bank since reading all the great reviews , what an absolute disappointment! Front of staff team completely let down by the kitchen . Never have I ever been served cold food in a warm dish … and it didn’t just happen once ! It happened to each of us and we were a party of six. Not keen either on a plate of broccoli with a dollop of peanut butter next to it ? Cold cheese tasted like it was out of a packet for another small plate offer . As for watery, Thai green sauce with undercooked Trout , sorry it was just unpleasant . None of the mail plates came with vegetable accompaniments either . Left feeling like I could do with a good meal !

This place is so beautiful I'm not quite sure I have the words. It even smells divine, of the wood smoke everything is cooked over. It wasn't just that I enjoyed the food, I was in raptures over it. I can't do any of it justic but an example is roasted onion on creamy silky goats cheese sauce on a delightful piece of sexy toast ....

Had dinner here with my GF, we liked the food and have a good experience overall, the main disappointment was the price which says on Google "££", so I was expecting fairly standard/moderate restaurant prices which it is not. We spent £95 on 3 small plates, 1 large with a glass of wine each (this was about the minimum we were recommended to order, and I was still a bit hungry afterwards). It was all nice of course but I would ask the owners to make this clearer on Google that this isn't an average priced restaurant.
