Really nice place, the service was excellent and the food is great as it gives you the opportunity to try things in combination that maybe you wouldn't normally. It is a little pricey and not totally sure the price is reflective of what you get but I would definitely recommend it.

BANK is our go-to Sunday roast restaurant. After embarking on the quest to find the best Sunday roast in Bristol, we stumbled across BANK and haven't looked back since. They do their dishes incredibly well, making sure everything is cooked to perfection whilst also adding twists and flairs that make it more exciting for a foodie than the general Sunday roast fare. In particular, their vegetables (which normally can be a bit sad in a Sunday roast) are great company to the main hero of the meal. The sharing roasts are an absolute treat, and my favourite roast to date was a roast lamb they did a while ago which also came with, what I can only describe as, a breaded and fried rolled stick of lamb deliciousness. The team at BANK are always super friendly and the restaurant has a spacious and easy going vibe. Would recommend booking ahead as well as booking for towards start of service as it tends to guarantee perfect roast potatoes. Their dinner menu is great too, but the Sunday roast is what keeps us going back.

Best Sunday roast I ever had! A bit pricey but absolutely worth it. Meat incredibly well cooked and banging Jalapeño bloody marys. The only downside is that it was a bit stuffy and noisy, as we had a 10 people table sat next to us, which made us not being able to hear each other. Anyway, I will be back to try the chicken roast. Thank you for a great experience:)

This has become a go to venue reasonably priced for the top quality locally sourced produce that is served. Highly recommend a visit. And a plus that dogs are also welcome.

One of the best Sunday roasts me and my partner have ever had. As a vegetarian, roasts are often dry and tasteless, BANK’s veggie roast is nothing like this. The veg is crunchy and flavoursome, and the main celeriac is gorgeous. The best part of the entire meal is undoubtedly the gravy, full of salty goodness and texture. It is expensive, and small portions, but I was very full and I believe worth the cost.

Pleasant restaurant in Totterdown. I've heard some good things about this roast so naturally wanted to give it a try. Firstly, staff were really attentive and welcoming. The menu allows for sharing platters as well as individual meals. I went for the pork belly, it was tasty and the garlic taste really complimented the pork belly. However the pork belly itself wasn't tender enough and the portion was quite small. The pork crackling was too tough . The rest of the roast was perfect. Yorkie pud wasnt too crispy . Roast potatoes were seasoned well and again the garlic taste was a welcomed edition. Gravy was very tasty, cabbage, sweet potato puree really added to the dish and again tasted brilliantly. Special mention of the week goes to the cauliflower cheese . The smoked red Leicester was so tasty. The one of the best I've had in Bristol

I recently had the pleasure of dining at BANK and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. We were warmly welcomed and served by Sarah, whose attentive and friendly service added to the evening's enjoyment. The food was exceptional, beginning with the Grilled Nocellara olives, which offered a unique and delightful twist on traditional olives and came in a generous portion. The smoked nuts were the perfect complement to our wine selection, adding a smoky depth that paired beautifully. One of the highlights was the burnt grape salad with Cornish octopus—an absolute divine combination of flavors and textures. The Sourdough focaccia was another standout, being both light and incredibly moreish. The wine selection was superb, and the Love O Love wine we chose was amazing, perfectly enhancing our meal. However, the true star of the evening was the Sirloin with Rendang. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the rich, flavorful Rendang sauce elevated it to new heights. The ambience at BANK was equally impressive, providing a perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. Every aspect of our visit, from the food to the service to the atmosphere, was perfect. I highly recommend BANK for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience in Bristol. We will definitely be returning!

They've got a mostly gluten-free menu, and honestly, every small plate we tried was a hit—no misses! We ordered all the small plates and I recommend doing the same. The vibe there is super relaxed but still feels special, perfect for dinner night out. The drinks were spot on, we tried a mix of cocktails and wine and it meant being the last ones to leave! Even though I'm all about trying new spots, I'm already planning to go back to BANK soon to check out their larger plates. Five adults and one toddler went for Sunday lunch which was excellent and served a little bit differently to many other places. You can have a whole chicken to share or 20oz of sirloin beef to share. Unfortunately I was the only one that wanted beef and that would have been too much and the chicken had sold out. Went for the leg of lamb instead which was very tender and cooked to perfection. Some of the others had pork belly which was well received. Vegetables were plentiful, the best being the cabbage cooked over charcoal,. Excellent and varied wine list. Staff were brilliant and helpful , serving the toddler ice cream with our starters

A popular spot for Sunday lunch, we had booked some time ago to get a table, although it wasn’t perhaps quite as busy as expected. It’s a light and airy restaurant, and the staff all seemed friendly and helpful. The menu seemed a bit restricted, with both the chicken and beef options having sold out, leaving just pork belly, duck or a vegetarian option. This seemed a bit poor when they’re probably the two most popular options, but that said I assume these were “to share” anyway, although that was not mentioned on the menu. But with the (whole) chicken coming in at £36, and a 20oz Sirloin at a whopping £67, I would certainly hope that was the case. I went for the pork belly which came with crackling, black garlic and miso as well as a comprehensive set of vegetables, many of them smoked, such as the smoked garlic potatoes or smoked beetroot puree. To be honest, I was a little disappointed with the pork. It seemed quite a small portion, rolled out and only about half an inch thick, and it was definitely a little chewy in places and I didn’t really notice the miso. I’ve certainly had better. On the plus side though, the vegetables were all really very good indeed, especially the (optional extra) barbequed broccoli with a Dorset red cheese gratin, that was quite amazing. A desert of rhubarb trifle was a little non-traditional, with some sort of labneh in place of the cream as well as oats in it, but the end result was quite remarkable, it was exceptionally good, with the “cream” having a caramel tinge to it and the whole thing coming together really well. A dark chocolate ganache across the table was also well received, although it was a little more as expected and didn’t match up to the trifle. Overall, a bit of a mixed bag. It’s certainly got potential, perhaps I was just unlucky, but with the limited choice and disappointing pork, I’m not sure I’ll be rushing back.

Once again (5th time?) this bright and airy restaurant doesn't disappoint, too much. To be clear the only disappointment was that they'd sold all of the Sirloin; that can happen when the wife checks the menu before we arrive and my mind sets on the unavailable meat! Still it's nothing that the Middle White Pork Belly couldn't overcome. Started with a cocktail, which woke the palate, the Mint Eastwood. Pork belly with crackling for us both, very tasty, very tender. The charred hispi cabbage was a standout veg accompaniment, nearly as good as the roasties. Cocount rice pudding a winner for the wife and the rhubarb in my Trifle was a delight, paired with the suggested dessert wines a great finish to a lovely Sunday Roast. Fantastic service by the team. Oh and loyalty points to boot. What's not to like. We will return again when in Bristol. PS apparently you can ring ahead and reserve, which i'll bear in mind for next time!

Lovely buzzy restaurant but lots of issues. We went on a Saturday night, there were only 4 main courses on the menu and one was off by 7:30 - which we were only told after trying to order. Service was ridiculously slow. We had to wait 20 mins to order drinks which then took an age to arrive. Food took over an hour to reach us. Food was delicious but portions were very small so we asked to look at deserts - and there were only two rice pudding or white chocolate mousse. We didn’t like those so left hungry. Drinks were seriously expensive. We booked ahead and when we arrived were seated at a long sharing table with benches which we weren’t asked about on booking. Overall it felt like they had really overstretched themselves.

Not keen either on a plate of broccoli with a dollop of peanut butter next to it ? Cold cheese tasted like it was out of a packet for another small plate offer . We had Sunday lunch with friends and it was a pleasant meal. The service was excellent, there is a good amount of space between the tables so you don’t feel like you’re sat with your neighbours (which definitely happens a lot these days) and the food was overall good and seasonal which is great to see. On Sundays there is only a roast option. We ordered the pumpkin and the lamb. The lamb was delicious but the pumpkin was really not enjoyable, very dry and crumbly. We loved the beetroot purée that it was all served on, a really different and delicious addition. The various cabbages and veg sides were cooked beautifully and the cauliflower cheese is a must!! The roast potatoes were tough and dry but improved with more gravy. There were 2 deserts so we had both - the hazelnut panna cotta with whisky ice cream was one of the best deserts I’ve ever had, total heaven. We didn’t enjoy the pineapple rum cake. Coffees were a really good flavour although the latte is very small and more like a flat white/cortado in volume, so very strong if you’re used to a more milky latte. I would recommend having a 10oz cup for the latte. If I could I would have scored 3.5 but the great service pushed it up to a 4.

We tried the lunch set here on a Saturday. £20 / 2 courses (small plate + large plate) £24 / 3 courses (the above + dessert) To conclude, we both love the large plates (roast quail and brill) more than the small plates (pork cheek and cured salmon) as the latter's flavour fell short. Maybe I expected too much from 'cooked over open fire'? The dessert, Millefeuille, was lovely. Worth trying. And the atmosphere, I do love the setting. However, when there 's a big group, even if they were sitting on the other side, it was still quite noisy that my partner couldn't hear what I was saying lol I understand there's not much the restaurant can do though. Hopefully, next time will be better!

I'm lucky to have BANK as a local restaurant after a recent move, so decided to treat myself to 3 courses for £24 on a Wednesday lunchtime. The grilled mushroom salad was a perfect starter. The flavours were very well balanced and I could have eaten three courses of just that. For main I had the duck with sweet potato and cherry. I rarely choose duck and this was a real treat, rich but not overpowering. For dessert I had the chocolate torte which was delicious but too sweet for me. This is a criticism of my palette rather than the dish. Tragically as I was working it wasn't suitable to have wine, but I'll be back to take advantage of the bottles for sure! Excellent service and an all round great experience.

Stingey and expensive. Portions were very small, had a roast dinner and was served 1 small portion of veg between 3, asked for some more and they added £9 onto the bill.

Lovely service and atmosphere and some delicious imaginative food. First time here so took the small set plates sharing-option as an intro. Fabulous flavours but next time we will go for the large plate options for a lunch, as the sharing small plates are light. The virgin cocktails were delicious! We enjoyed it and will definitely be back

Superb local small plates restaurant. Everything was delicious, staff were great, and atmosphere was lovely. It won't be the cheapest meal you've had, but might just be the tastiest.

The restaurant was really welcoming, it is beautifully decorated and clean. The service was absolutely fantastic, no rush but always attentive. The four or us shared 8 small plates between us and two of us are vegan and there were great choices. Each dish was really, really tasty. We had bread for starters, this could have been a slightly more generous portion but even so was delicious. Unusually we had dessert and although there were just two choices, one was vegan so it worked for our group and both choices were sensational. The drinks menu has something for everyone. This was a really nice experience, the best we had had in a very long time and will return again very soon.

First visit and nice to find a restaurant on the South of Bristol without the need to get into traffic . A selection of small and a few large plates to choose from with an all small option as well. Mackerel, pork rillettes ,stunning barbecued mushrooms(worth an extra portion)and some excellent veggie choices. Short but excellent pudding choice ,try the panna cotta. The bread portion is very meagre but everything else was excellent and very attractive presentation. Efficient booking system with a choice of sit up at window or table seating. The sit up does give a chance to count the red light jumpers outside ! Friendly staff and steady service but no rush and a nice touch is leaving the menu with you in order to read full desciption as food is served.Decent wine list . We will return TOP TIP: The bus lane switches off in the evening so parking slots uphill from restaurant

We tried Sunday Roast at the Bank and the food was exceptional! Every item on the plate was delicious! They really need to review their website though because we had my 4 year old with us and there was absolutely nothing that would have been suitable for a kid. Asking for ketchup was an offence of course 😅 Note to management - having a few high chairs doesn’t make the restaurant child friendly. Thinking up even just one simple option for children would mean that parents can enjoy the delightful food whilst the kids can have something to eat too. The waitresses were very friendly but it seemed like they have never fed a child before. Serving roasties in a bowl with a mall jug of gravy was a recipe for disaster… just put it on a plate.. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Such easy tweaks would make a huge difference! A real shame!

We turned up at 11:55 for a 12:00 booking, The place looked closed and the iron gates were barred, so we hung around in the rain for a few minutes then went into an empty restaurant. We weren’t allowed to sit at a table in the corner despite the empty restaurant the waitress who appeared to have a broom up her back was unmovable on this. The room is like a canteen with very high ceilings and no sound muffling so it’s like eating in a echoey church hall. We picked the lamb sharing plate imagining a joint arriving on a large plate that we would have to slice ourselves. It took ages to arrive and was a dinner plate with ready sliced very underdone tough lamb, 2 Yorkshire’s some purée and a piece of breadcrumbed lamb belly. The veg was in separate dishes. I had to send the peach dessert back as it was completely under ripe and inedible. The water they serve is straight out of the tap and smells very chlorinated. The waitress took the desert off the bill and we paid cash. Soon after we walked out the scowling waitress ran after us to ask if we’d paid the bill we said we left the cash on the table, to which she yelled ‘We don’t take cash’ There are no signs saying no cash and nothing on the menu. Frankly if I had known they don’t take cash I would never have booked. We left there feeling this is a canteen of can’ts Can’t sit at a table you choose Can’t filter their water Can’t cook lamb Can’t pick ripe peaches for a desert Can’t season your own food (no salt and pepper on tables) Can’t hold coffee cup as the coffee is overheated and has no handle on cup Can’t pay cash Small portions for Sunday lunch and very expensive Overall an underwhelming experience
