Absolutely amazing food and staff! Chicken wings and the garlic and parmasan cheese fries was to die for! Aswell as the Sunday roasts perfect amount, and honestly the best food we have had at a restaurant in years will definitely be coming back👌

We booked this location to celebrate my son’s 30th birthday. We were welcomed from the minute we stepped inside and the excellent customer service received from Jordan continued throughout the evening. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome by all the team members. There were lots of menu choices, the food was served quickly and was excellent. We were well catered for in terms of drinks, served very quickly and tables kept clear. Big thank you to Jordan and his team for ensuring we had a wonderful evening and we look forward to going back there very soon.

Booked a table for 8 for Sunday lunch / roast. The table was directly underneath a speaker which was giving out loud music. Asked the waiter to switch it off but he could only lower it a little bit. Tried another table but same situation. The waiter lowered it the volume a little bit more but another waiter would then increase it as soon as we sat down [????]. After few minutes, decided to leave and find somewhere else for lunch. Told the lady at the bar why we were leaving but she didn't really seem to care. If you want a peaceful lunch ............... don't go there!

This place is full of lovely friendly staff who could not be more welcoming. The food portions are so generous and the food is so tasty. I can’t wait to visit again.

Yet again a truly lovely tasty meal at the Watermead Inn. I’m never disappointed when we go there. I think it’s great value and the atmosphere is very relaxed but staff are both friendly and very professional at what they do. I look forward to going again very soon.

Not great when the barman is looking around to see if anyone was going to order a drink because he wants to go for a cigarette! ( Which he was doing when we arrived !)

First visit with a group of friends for Sunday lunch. Easy to book, warm welcome. Busy as it was a weekend and there were a couple of children’s birthday parties. I’m vegetarian and there was a vegan option on the Sunday roast menu. The nut loaf, not very imaginative, was small, like a child’s portion so sadly not good value for money and I won’t return.

Had a family meal that was booked. Can I firstly say that the service was very good and we were looked after all evening for food and drinks by two lads who were very attentive so thanks guys. Also the lady behind the bar came over to make sure we were ok. The menu is ok standard pub food but not restaurant standard tbh. We had rib eye which was extremely chewy the chips were good and why is the broccoli called broccolini but it made us chuckle. I wouldn’t go back as the food just wasn’t worth what we paid for it. We were asked if everything was ok and we all said yes as I don’t like to be negative to team members when they work so hard.

This spot is usually great with the staff on, however today me and my father paid a visit, we waited 5 mins before this older woman shouted “who’s next” she was rude towards my father getting sugar and then proceeded to question how many sachets of sugar we had taken for the two cappuccinos we ordered, paid £7 for watery coffee. Disgusting behaviour and watermead inn need to look for more well mannered staff.

Myself and partner ordered 2roast beef dinners which should have come with Yorkshire puds which were missing !! but on eating our dinner my beef was full of grissle & inedible my partners wasn’t as bad but still not good . I complained to a young lady who got the manager who after some discussion offered a drink which both of us refused . I wasn’t rude but said it was terrible & that I wouldn’t be returning

Went for a meal with family. Service was average and a bit slow . Lots of dirty glasses left around the table and the bar during our meal. Food was OK but I think a little overpriced for what we had. Would return for a drink in summer as nice setting but would rush back for the food or service.

Came here for dinner as a party of 4 and I found the food very, very average. I got the chicken salad and it was very basic: green leaves, cheap sliced tomatoes with no flavour, big slices of cucumber, grated parmesan that was straight out of a packet and tiny croutons you would also get from a packet - okay but not worth £15. They use basic frozen chips and even the condiments come in sachets, and not even good quality Heinz, I'm taking to proper cheap stuff you'd get in from chicken shop. I wanted to get dessert so approached the bar and was told that the kitchen closed at 8pm. I asked for a coffee and they said the machine has shady been switched off. Not great.. Waaaaay better options in and around Aylesbury!

We were a party of 9;all of the food was delicious ( we mostly all had different dishes, including a veggie roast );hot and promptly served by two members of staff who were both extremely polite and efficient,they got us repeated jugs of cold water with lemon and hot water to heat a babies bottle without a grumble.I had the fruit de mer,I only usually order seafood while on holiday overseas but this was absolutely delicious with a great variety of shellfish and chorizo init,the portion was huge!!! I throughly recommended a visit

A group of us visited for lunch today and it was nice to see that there was a completely new menu and appears as though the place had been redecorated - very clean and nice atmosphere. Food and drink was all great quality, the only reason not to get 5 stars is because of the lack of availability of some items on the menu that we'd wanted to order.

I was a bit concerned after reading previous reviews as there is a big mix of good and bad ones listed. At the start due to a problem in the kitchen there was only a very limited menu available, we spoke with the bar staff and they checked for us and we were able to order exactly what was required and the main reason for visiting this place. As it was a special day one of our party wanted to have the house special of Mititei and for starters we had the chicken wings, popcorn chicken and Blanchbait, all of these were well presented and cooked, for main we had the Mititei and a Pizza Capricciosa and we decided this was the best pizza that we have ever had in the Aylesbury area. Service was very good with both pleasant and helpful staff. Would highly recommend a visit.

We visited here December 28th about 6-45 pm. The restaurant was very quiet.My little girl’s pizza was burnt, my son’s chips some were cooked and others were still frozen!After complaining the chips were replaced and the pizza taken off the bill but when I checked after leaving we had also been charged for a Bacardi and coke which we never had!! Very poor.

It is a very attractive building, light and modern in an amazing setting. The inside has a more traditional feel. We were there for a family get-together. The buffet was excellent and service friendly. The toilets were nice and clean.

We live locally and we have never had anything but BRILLIANT service and lovely food here! Extra special thanks go to manager Kayleigh for a wonderful experience each time. She is a perfect balance of professional and friendly and goes the 'extra' mile to accomodate our needs. We can't recommend her enough. 100% best service ever x

We went here for dinner on a week night, the atmosphere was cosy and the food was delicious! I am quite fussy and Kayleigh was really accommodating with my order. All of the staff were great in general, but Kayleigh was particularly good.

Very busy and noisy, staff lovely but food was a low standard. Overcooked burgers and bacon, chips ok but a bit anaemic. Went out for a couples meal and regretted our decision. The noise, ok they were busy, but the food was poor.

We organised a last minute celebration for a large family event and the team at The Watermead Inn were so accommodating! The buffet was brilliant, catering for non and vegetarians with delicious pizzas, quiches, rolls and sandwiches, wedges, samosas and spring rolls, and the team kept an eye out to make sure everything was replenished and no one went hungry. Cannot recommend them highly enough for an event!

From the dirty glasses to the inept staff this place is dreadful. Food is substandard, for £43 you’d expect far far better, shocking value for money for a meal for two. The owners artifice reflects the state of the place, which is pretty dirty all round. Windows are filthy with flies buzzing around, furniture is old and stained. Any owner that cared would be keeping an eye on the staff instead of propping up the bar with his mates. Our waitress dropped some Mayo close to our table, but appears more worried it was on her trainers than anything else. Instead of saying she’d get a replaced she actually asked if we wanted one. Amazing. Save your money and spend where the staff care.

I booked a table for 2 here and what a mistake. On arriving we were ignored while waiting at the sign that said wait here to be seated, so went to the bar and seated ourselves with menus.We ordered straight away and received our wine promptly which was ok. However at no time were we informed that the wait for food would be over half an hour.Poor management of expectations and service. Will avoid in future. No comment on food as we left before eating. Been several times now. Food/Drink can be fairly expensive but with a beautiful view outside and location, alongside large portions of very good food its 100% worth it. Service was prompt (have only tried the app once but that worked well from what I could tell) Will continue to return regularly.

We booked the Watermead Inn because it was close to the crematorium and they could safely accommodate the numbers attending. Everyone without exception was impressed with both the food and the service. The staff were both efficient and friendly.

We’ve had food here before and it’s always nice. Tried something different today and it was so yummy. I ordered the chicken kebab and I definitely recommend, hubby had pizza and he thoroughly enjoyed and it’s definitely worth the money

We Visited as a Family of 4 for on a Saturday lunchtime.The food & drink had to be ordered by the app which was not user friendly ,Waited over a hour for our food to arrive which when it did it was cold.Advise to avoid this place at all costs.

Came here for dinner while visiting Wendover. Fortunately tables are uncover while current COVID regulations say you cannot sit inside. A beautiful setting overlooking a lake, we were able to watch a mini storm coming and then it went dark and poured down glad we had warm coats but didn’t think to bring hat and gloves in May!Masks didn’t seem to be required, the app didn’t work neither did the QR code check in, our server was lovely though and took our order the old fashioned way. Food was ok, nicely presented but being a plain eater I ordered a chicken kebab and was disappointed to find it marinated in a spice (that wasn’t mentioned in the menu) so I didn’t eat it. Would recommend for a drink and a lovely view. Plenty of parking.

Such a shame after a pandemic to choose here for a pub garden dinner. The food and drink had to be ordered by an app which was fine and understandable, when the food came our order was missing items and replaced with a salad instead. When confronting the waitress about this her reply was “are you eating the steak? Can your friends not talk for themselves”.....a disgusting way to speak to a customer, in shock we asked for the manager. We then spoke to the manager who’s response was “she’s worked 5 days in a row” WHAT A SHAMBLES!!!.....more to add, but too long to bore everyone with it. Wont be returning and won’t be recommending to my friends or family. Such a shame as lovely location on the lake.

Booked a table the previous week. Arrived and they could not find our booking at all. We were offered a table anyway luckily. Had to wait ages to be asked if we’d like to order drinks, so as soon as they arrived we asked if we could order food. Nachos had a sauce over which was tasteless. Jalapeños also had no taste, not hot/spicy which was odd. Guacamole also was tasteless. Chicken schnitzel was ok, found what looked like a small piece of gammon/ham under it, lucky I eat pork but wasn’t supposed to be part of the dish. Chips were underdone, my 4 year old wouldn’t touch them. My partners ribs were also tasteless, we just don’t understand how you can have bbq sauce that doesn’t taste of anything.. great for a drink but we wouldn’t have food there again

Popped in for a quick drink as just passing by. Nice location but felt quite uncomfortable as none of the staff wearing mask when dealing with customers and no one adhering to the one way system, people walking anywhere. No self distancing!! Came to have a nice quite drink with the other half he had ordered a peroni, he had noticed it was flat asked for the glass to be changed, got told by a member of staff (laura I think her name was long brown hair, glasses) there was nothing wrong with the pint the pint is fine! I mean the pint was flat as you like! He then had the glass changed after being told there’s nothing wrong! For then the next pint to be flat also he goes back up to then say look could I have it in a Estrella glass as the others widgets had clearly gone. The lady then started arguing with him, (I ain’t doing it again) and other things were said! the service was shocking!! You pay for the service and you get rude bar staff in return when all u wanted was a quite sit down and decent pint!

Came for lunch with my mum and son as we live on Watermead and wanted to support the local pub. The welcome was lovely and the food was ok but the table was so dirty it was actually sticky. The man taking our orders and serving did not have the hang of any social distancing. He actually leant over us to serve drinks and food and got far too close. Was not wearing any ppe and I did not feel safe. Unfortunately I would not return to sit at a sticky table and be too close to staff. We actually moved our plates so they were at the end of the table to stop him leaning over us.

Family visit, which we all enjoyed. Good food and excellent service. Nice surroundings by the lake. Felt safe as not too crowded.

I came here with my wife and 2 young children to enjoy a nice family lunch, on arrival no one bothered to greet us or advise us on where we could sit.Very disorganised and we didn’t feel like there had been many precautions taken in regards to COVID-19.Food was ok, but it really isn’t good enough. Came here at the weekend to enjoy the weather and some good food but left feeling very disappointed.Lipstick all over my glass! Not very hygienic at all, especially in the current climate.Food was pricey and my burger was dry, staff pretty much disinterested.The only good thing is the lake.

This pub and especially the owner has been incredible during COVID in helping all of the residents in watermead! The restaurant is in a perfect location with being able to sit outside overlooking the lake or inside in a very warm and friendly but live atmosphere. This place is always full of very happy customers and the staff are some of the best staff I have seen in a restaurant. The food and drink choice is perfect for all types of visitors and the food portions are really filling and a very generous size. I will be coming back repeatedly over many years to come

Service was awful no one stood around to help us get seated or to explain how ordering works , flies everywhere is not suitable around food and drinks , guy behind the bar not with it at all had to repeat a simple order nearly 3x

Kelvin delivered us the most delicious father's Day roast to our door during lock down,it was absolutely delicious.We love visiting The watermead Inn, the food is always good, and the surroundings are so beautiful with views of the lake.Can't wait to pop in again for a cocktail and food, but until we can it's great that we can get tasty food delivered to our door,or a take away whilst sat in the piazza.I would totally recommend a visit here

Today we had the most amazing Sunday lunch delivered by Kelvin.A real treat in times of lockdown. Described on the menu as a feast,and it definitely was that. Just perfect, especially when we can’t get out to enjoy one.We are so lucky to have Kelvin and his staff looking after our community,Thank you Kelvin, your a star ⭐️

First and foremost from start to finish the staff where rude! Ordered our food only two meals come out,Ok left it a few min incase was a delay.. nope still no other food.I then asked how much longer the rest of the food will be they said we hadn't paid for anything else I showed receipt thankfully I had asked for one... As it showed we had paid for all four meals.I then had to witness a argument in the kitchen and the cheff slamming things around. I was then told the cheff will add it to his list of things to cook and was about 5 tables in front of me..Needless to say the my daughter and I shared my wife's pizza and after waiting over an hour for a pizza.I left after having to ask for the money back on the food I haven't received and that's not even been started and was made to feel uncomfortable asking.Would I recommend No.. would I go back No.. would I want to live in watermead knowing this was the only local place to eat and drink.... NoOverall huge disappointment.

Came here with friends for our first ever Sunday lunch here and it didn’t disappoint. Three of us had the mixed meat lunch and it was so delicious. Only 2 things ( personal choice) I’d say is the gravy could have been a bit thicker and there could have been freshly made roasties but that’s just my own taste. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

We were staying at the nearby Best Western Garden Court for a night stop after a visit to Waddesdon. That hotel did not have much to offer for dinner, so this was a good option only half a mile away. In December you do not see or benefit from this pub's featured waterside location, so that was a bit of a downer. However all we wanted was a a beer, a burger and a warmup with friends. Eastern European waitress was attentive and our drinks and meals came in good time. They were fine, hot and tasty. We had drinks, four burgers and three desserts for a bill of £98 so it was good value. Not fine dining or very atmospheric in mid December, but it ticked our boxes for what we needed that night.

Ordered a starter, was very tasty , garlic bread with cheese , very delicious. We had ordered seafood rice which I was told wasn’t as nice as previously visited , but wasn’t bad. Member of my party ordered bartered chicken was tasteful and fresh , the chips are absolutely the best !!! Also ordered chargrilled chicken which was most disappointing , no flavour and burnt and very dry. The chocolate brownie dessert with ice cream was adequate , the brownie tasted like it was microwaved distasteful. Literally the saver was the ice cream and sauce on it. That was amazing!!

We visited The Watermead Inn a few days ago and were disappointed. We had visited in the summer and there were some decent vegetarian options, however the seasonal menu change was not a change for the better. The vegetarian options currently are not great, with poor pizza and burger options, which is reflected in the rest of the menu. The choices are uninspiring/limited and something you would have expected 10 years ago compared with what many restaurants offer today. I don't think we'll come back until the menu changes again. Also the beer selection could be better, with the addition of a few dark ales.

My friend and I ordered two meals and suspected something was wrong when only one turned up.The waitress swore we only ordered one meal - WHY WOULD WE ??? - but finally relented when we reminded her we had specified whilst ordering which type of chip was required. The second meal was salmon and potato. The second meal arrived 30 mins after the first and we were not charged. This is not the point , it was a ruined lunch.I say this kindly , if you insist on foreign staff please make sure they understand basic English. We found her difficult to understand and obviously she found that too. It was a misunderstanding on her behalf but common sense would suggest also that two people out for lunch would order two meals.

We turned up on the off chance having never been in the area before.The pub exterior is looking a little tired but the location is lovely, overlooking a very large lake with numerous waterfowl etc.Apart from two large groups the venue was not busy and was virtually run unaided (it appeared) by a very helpful Croatian lady.The service was speedy and efficient and the food was delicious.A very good choice as it turned out. We would certainly go again if we are in the area.

Ate here last year so thought to come back with a few friends. Not sure if under new management but there was a lack of atmosphere on arrival. The waitress was helpful but the menu is VERY restrictive if you do not eat meat. Those that did said they enjoyed their meal but for me it was a disaster. I ordered the salmon (it was that or one vegi dish). It arrived but the fish sat on a bed of new potatoes with a meat gravy!! I told the waitress who came back with the suggestion that I had a salad and side order of fries. The salad was a heaped bowl of leaves with some sliced cucumber, some sliced tomato and some chunks of pepper! Unbelievable!! Definitely not one of my better experiences.

Came in for dinner at 8:30pm. Pub was busy and had a good atmosphere. Food was served quickly and tasted great. I had the battered chicken burger with tasty sweet potato fries & my partner had the chicken schnitzel and chips. I liked the general decor style of the restaurant. Service wasn't anything special though, our waitresses didn't make any kind of chitchat and we didn't get a checkback.

I was here with my family for a wake for a funeral. My family were devastated, tea and coffee had been laid on and the cups had run out as there were quite a lot of us - trying to be helpful I asked at the bar if we could have some more please and I was snapped at by the lady behind the bar (blonde relatively tall). Then on the way out of the kitchen the same lady slammed into an older relative of mine who nearly went flying, accidents happen but she didn't apologise and threw said relative a filthy look. All in all we were made to feel unwelcome on an extremely sensitive day.

This place is getting worse, the staff is rude and the costumers are very low class... very arrogant and useless hipsters .... but leaving those legged rubbish aside the place is wonderful...

We found this place the other year and now regularly stop here for a meal when returning home from Silverstone. Our latest visit was yesterday (Sunday) . Although it was quite busy with families and people watching football in bar area, there were still a few tables available to chose from. Service was very prompt, the food was excellent and the staff were friendly and efficient. On top of all that it is in a lovely setting. We'll definitely call in again when next passing.

Myself and my husband visited with another couple for an early lunch. From when we arrived the atmosphere was very relaxed and we were able to have a quiet drink and catch up before ordering food. The service upon ordering the food was quick and we were all pleased with our meals. Very big portions for the prices you pay - definitely planning to go back in the future.

Were here for couple drinks.. prices very very expensive, just one pub in area..so they put maximum for all kind of drinks.. staff not bothered to clean tables or collect empty glasses ..enormous amount of dirtiness from birds around..simply horrible.. bees all around you , just one positive thing is view. Very nice area .. but nothing in connection with pub or super service of people who working in this place.. bad experience..

We have had several lunches here now, the kebabs are good and the meatfeast was excellent.prices are reasonable as well Service good, food hot.

Visited here last night for a catch up with friends. Have not been here for years as heard it went downhill but was so pleased we chose it. We had a few drinks and food. The place wasn't too busy so no need to book on a weekday. Had the sizzling chicken terryaki with rice & salad which was really good! The others had the chicken kebab and commented on how nice it was. Will definitely recommend for food and the view is beautiful, can't wait to come back soon

Delicious food, good selection of beer and wine. Friendly staff and a nice feel to the place. Never have to wait too long to be served

Booked early because of bank holiday, when we got there it was absolutely chocker “rammed” they never had enough staff on the bar & only two waitresses dealing with the restaurant & also the outside area, but I’ve Foyt say the pizza was really good & my desert was lovely too, probably won’t be going back again very soon because it wasn’t that special apart from a pizza & creme brûlée the rest was average

Came here for lunch with some friends. The menus were sticky is what I initially observed which wasn’t too great. The food was very pricy for a pub and my classic beef burger was over cooked and not very tasty. The upside is that the views are lovely and I can see why this place gets busy.

We drink in here reguarly but have only eaten here twice. Being Gluten Free i was pleased to see GF options on the menu. Unfortunately my first meal was pulled pork, which consisted of a small tin bucket of chips and a small pile of meat next to it. I wouldn't have minded but with a £14 price tag i expected more. On our next visit i chose the butterfly chicken with salad, a side and mushroom stroganoff which was marked as GF on the menu. However when it arrived i was told i couldn't have the stroganoff as it wasn't gluten free. So not only is their menu wrong, i only got half my meal and was still charged full price. Needless to say we won't be going there again!

We had dinner Wed 27th (chicken salad & sausage&mash;), both were disappointing, salad was just ok, and the sausages weren’t cooked which we had to send it back. Staff not bothered at all.

Park in the car park, go under the arch, there it is on your left. An attractive lake with lots of waterfowl is the view. Service is prompt (OK it was Monday lunchtime, so they weren't over-run by customers). Food is standard gastropub fare; decent portions (We didn't try the jacket potatos- see previous reviewer!). Spacious and relaxing venue.

Visited on Wednesday 20th of feb with my Mum for a spot of lunch. Lovely coffee and lady behind the bar with blonde medium/short hair is extremely lovely and helpful she couldn’t have done more.

The place is beautiful and relaxing the food was great and tasty nice portions and hot girls the only problem are the very low class costumers that they get there... very arrogant and useless hipsters .... but leaving rubbish aside the place is wonderful...

Spent a chilly winter afternoon here and enjoyed the generous food portions and pleasant staff. Gin menu also available. The bakewell cherry gin was excellent!

Been here a few times in the hope I was wrong.. sadly not.

Pleasant atmosphere, with friendly staff. Food cooked well and portions more than adequate. Good value for money. Will definately go again when next in the area.

Great family-friendly restaurant in a perfect location. We all enjoyed the food. Perfect place to have a Sunday roast.
