The tearoom has been freshly decorated to nice light colours making it feel alot brighter. Lots of outside seating available, including a marquee and arbours as well as 'normal' table and chairs. I enjoyed scrambled egg with 1 toast on the side instead of 2 (personal preference) very accommodating and friendly staff.

This place is a great place to stop and eat or just have a wander through the array of independent shops and stalls. Lots of choice with the menu in the tearoom and it is a quirky place with lots of memorabilia from the 1940's. We had the toasties and they were very generous servings. Friendly ladies serving with the Covid protocols being adhered to very well. Loved it

Returning from holiday in Norfolk we were looking for a proper independent cafe for brunch, and we saw the sign for this place. What an amazing find. The tearoom is completely immersed in the 1940s, from the decor and the softly-playing music to the furniture and all the artifacts. If you have children studying the WWII period, bring them here: they will be fascinated by the contrast between life then and now. Fortunately, however, the theme does not extend to the menu! My husband ordered a bacon sandwich and I chose a cheese toastie. Mine came with a 'salad garnish' which contained more salad than most full meals in a restaurant. The toastie must have contained several weeks' ration of cheese. Husband's sandwich was likewise bulging. China cups; husband had a pot of tea, while I had a cafetiere of coffee. Proper coffee, not the chicory stuff they drank during WWII when coffee wasn't available. Couldn't believe what good value it was. The staff were lovely, and their Covid security was excellent. We were asked if we would like to take our items off the tray rather than have them handled by the waitress. As well as the Tearooms, there are some very quirky little shops within the building, including a unit selling 'fat quarters' of beautiful cotton fabrics for those of us into quilting, patchwork or, as in my case, making fun face coverings. Worth a detour.

We also chose a cake to go with it. Nice place and loved the music on the jukebox... however this doesn't get a 5 stars because personally I think it's very over priced compared to mals tearoom in log Sutton which is £7.95 and here is £13.95 for the same quality and quantity!

I come here frequently with my mother ( who lives in an old people's home nearby) She loves the old-fashioned feel of the cafe, the china crockery, the sugar tongs, the embroidered tablecloths. I love the cakes! The surroundings are somewhat surprising-it seems to be in a converted greenhouse! But once inside you are carried back to a time when cakes came on plates and not wrapped in cellophane, when food is freshly made and not de-frosted and when the staff are polite and helpful, not surly and disinterested! Well done, a lovely place to visit and we will definitely be back!

My partner suffers from lactose intolerance and was able to have a tea cake with jam, and soya milk in his tea which was great. (If they did vegan or dairy free cake that would have been utterly fabulous, but I understand there may not be as much demand for that sort of cake.) the tea room is actually in the garden centre which was also good albeit quite warm inside being a greenhouse building. While the food itself was actually very tasty, there were some factors that I felt overshadowed my experience. Upon entering, I was greeted to a massive wall that consisted of endless pictures of Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe. While this is keeping up with the theme of vintage that the tearoom was so ever desperate to shove down my throat, it in fact took away from my experience, taking away the genuineness of what I believe a vintage restaurant should portray. Additionally we were greeted to a not very vintage dukebox that also decided to have an off day, with the music cutting out regularly, furthermore the use of fans at either side of the room, one in fact in the doorway making it difficult for guests to get through drowned out the music that was playing. What puzzled me the most was the teacups hanging on the coat hooks, perhaps this was a factor of the vintage lifestyle, however this rendered the coat-hangers unusable.

I have just reviewed this under the Silverwood Tea Rooms heading, but this is the same place although this is the correct name of the Tea Room so I am repeating my review here! PS pretty sure the reviews for Silverhill Restaurant are the same place too!Had day out with a friend trawling a selection of garden centres and plant nurseries in the area. Based on the reviews we had pre-chosen Silverwood Garden Centre (A Time to Remember Tearooms) for our lunch. We were not disappointed: the food was excellent, very reasonably priced, and the staff friendly (we felt like 'regulars' on our first visit). Friend said her coffee was one of the best she has had (praise indeed!), I had Earl Grey tea - loose leaf, served in a pot with bone china cup and a tea strainer provided. The decor made the place feel cosy and comfortable. The nostalgia element didn't seem overdone or intrusive, just retro. We do not live that close by, but would definitely return when we can. Had a look round the craft and antiques area and there was some lovely stuff plus definite bargains to be had. Other places may have a better plant selection (and this wasn't bad) but this was tops for the food and service.

Loved this venue for our afternoon tea...really well looked after and the food was scrumptious especially the Brie and cranberry sandwiches and scones. Lots of talented people had displayed home made crafts which you could buy and the rooms are decorated in style

Rather an unusual quirky vintage tea room. Coffee and cake very nice. Lots of memorabilia and friendly staff. There's a good garden centre and various crafts outlets too.

I went to the Vintage Tea rooms today with my sister and the staff were exceptional! The man who worked there not only catered to mine and my sisters experience but also my 2 year old niece. He specifically went out of his way to cater for all of us and make sure that we all enjoyed our first ever afternoon tea. And because of that and the gorgeous tasting food, I would highly recommend the Vintage Tea Rooms to anyone and I am looking forward to go back.

Very vintage but after ordering we had to wait until the 'staff meeting' or gossip finished, then they served some friends before we received our coffee. I had ordered a cherry and walnut and a fruit scone without jam, we received a cheese and a fruit scone with jam! As time was an issue didn't make a fuss. I wasn't entirely happy with the cleanliness of the table etc, it seemed to be sacrificed for vintage. A shame such potential!

Really nice staff and very good food and cake, only stopped here once for a quick bite, but now my wife and i stop every time we pass, and the gifts in the garden centre are really good to, especially beryl's bears...

Visited with wife & daughter for light lunch. We have been before and really enjoyed it so knew what to expect. After a walk around the large showroom of unusual items for sale and various hobbies and courses on offer we went for lunch. Had homemade cheese and cauliflower soup and sandwiches / baked potatoes. Tea came with old fashioned china cups & saucers and proper leaf tea and strainer. Excellent and very reasonably priced.

We were there for my Nan’s birthday. The food was lovely and all fresh. We had afternoon tea and the boys had main meals. Everyone enjoyed the home made quality of the food and the large portion sizes! Although there was too much for us to eat in the afternoon tea, we were able to put anything we wanted in boxes to take home. :) The style of the room was lovely and the afternoon tea was bought out on mix match vintage bone china plates and tea wear – again all very lovely. I know my grandparents will go back and are especially excited to try their Sunday roast dinner! Only downside was that the beer they were serving was out of cans. A bit of a disappointment considering that they had such a lovely wide range of loose leaf teas. We will definitely return.

We discovered the tea rooms recently , initially we just wanted to visit the shop and garden centre but upon seeing the café and the wonderful display of home made cakes we decided to stop for a lunch. The tea room is tastefully decorated, has a lovely warm atmosphere with mellow background music, a very nice menu and very friendly staff. All the meals are very reasonably priced, and absolutely delicious. The tearooms are open 7 days a week and we are going to become regulars I'm sure !

I thought I should update on my last review .There were three of us this time and we pre booked letting the lady on the phone know about the dislikes of one of the party , perfect , the fires lit , music played unobtrusively , the murmer of happy customers and a beautifully prepared feast of a tea , all dislikes catered for and presented in its gorgeous way . Thoroughly enjoyable . The ladies helpful and social , the fires crackled . What more could you want ?

I needed a sandwich to take out...they are not geared up to do this but made me one on a plate, covered it and said I could return the plate whenever. Lovely food and lovely people.

Overcooked dry steaks and burgers. "Well done" steaks were black outside raw inside. Burgers were close to being charcoal. Food not up to normal excellent standards.

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst working in the area.. what a beautiful place. The Mash Tun room was quirky with everything you could possibly need including a tranquil garden to the rear. The bluebell inn has a proper country pub vibe, amazing food and the lovely family that run it really make you feel welcome. Can only wish my stay was longer!

Runways cafe is a little gem. Took my daughter on a trip in a chipmunk at the airfield and stopped to have Sunday lunch at the airfield cafe. Lovely hot food which is a first for us with a carvery. The staff were friendly and helpful. Very clean and had a lovely atmosphere. The food was lovely, and the beef just melted in the mouth. Hats off to the chef. Extra points you can watch the plans from the cafe

Love rumblings for a traditional filling English breakfast but they have other great things on offer as well as really nice takeaway rolls and sandwiches. Very friendly staff and great value for money overall

I'm not a local, but whenever I'm in the area I make a beeline for Turner's! Fantastic battered plaice fillet with chips and mushy peas, a bread roll and a cuppa tea. The fish was fresh, hot and very tasty with nicely browned chips and sweet mushy peas. A lovely soft roll with butter made for a lovely chip butty. Good portion size, plenty for a normal appetite. A fresh brew to wash it down. Very clean inside and attentive service. The carrot cake was also delicious. Yum yum 😋
