Delicious breakfast, good prices and lovely staff. Tasty breakfast made to order in no time at all. My favourite place to eat in Loughborough. My granddaughter was even given a free cake when they heard us wishing her happy birthday. You won’t get good treatment like that in many places. All good quality food here. Thanks for a lovely brekkie. So glad we found you.

Popped in for a coffee as a couple, but was turned away. There was one table that was free, but with a family of 4 stood behind us they were welcomed over myself and my wife. Was offered a seat at the bar but wife is 76 so not really an option for being seated on a high chair. First time I have awarded a 1 star review, but I feel it was well earned on this occasion.

This is a lovely cafe which I truly enjoy visiting. Food and coffee is of good quality and choice. Owner and staff are friendly and service is quick. Imo the coffee is the best in town. Strong, but mellow. Too many cafes equate strength with bitterness, but not here; here it's a full-flavoured, good boost to my day. It's a cafe, but the food ingredients are of good quality, with a decent choice and the food is tasty and made to order. They are keen to accommodate your needs. I am a Coeliac, and they do a GF cake and use good quality sliced GF bread, and as so many of their standard ingredients are of good quality, they are GF, so I have a good choice and can ring the changes. I go in by myself, with family members and also with friends as it's a good place to meet and a relaxing place to sit and chat. It is however, quiet and restful with outside seating and I often go there alone just to relax and chill, and it hasn't failed me yet. I always leave in a good mood - a pleasure to eat at or relax in. ❤

Me and my Mum visited this afternoon for lunch and we both absolutely loved our meals. I had the Soup of the Day which was leek and potato with a granary bread roll. So delicious and well-seasoned! My mum ordered the Eggs Benedict which was topped with a very generous amount of thick bacon and two poached eggs (all beautifully cooked to perfection). Value for money here is brilliant, not skimping on the portions at all. The service was also fantastic; friendly and warm. We will definitely be back soon to sample lots more on the menu. We were spoiled for choice!

Ordered a takeaway afternoon tea. It was delicious. Telephoned my order through and I was sent a text me when it was ready to collect. Pulled up at the shop on the day of collection and Karen put everything in the boot of my car including the loan of a cake stand. Fabulous service. Would highly recommend and will definitely be doing it again.

I visited this lovely coffee shop with my friend for breakfast. Staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable despite the current circumstances. Lots of sanitiser stations around to make us feel safe throughout our whole visit. We both had a full English breakfast where everything was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. With my breakfast I had a lovely pot of tea which came in a cute china cup and saucer. Highly recommend this amazing coffee shop and will definitely be returning very soon. Thank you.

I visited this coffee shop on a visit to Loughborough earlier in the week to take benefit of the eat out to help out scheme they are offering. I was greeted by the friendly staff on entry and was shown to a table. I ordered a chicken, mozzarella and pesto toastie with a caramel latte. The service was very efficient, the coffee was one of the best tasting i have ever had and the toastie was excellent served with a lovely, fresh side salad, coleslaw and crisps! Would highly recommend this coffee shop to anyone passing the Loughborough area. I didn’t have any more room but if you do, there is a wide selection of cakes and treats on offer too. Will definitely be returning on my next visit to the town to meet friends.

The cafe is located in a lovely, quiet spot in Loughborough town centre. I was greeted very warmly when I entered. Tables are suitably spaced out so I felt comfortable eating indoors (outside tables are also available). The menu offers a lot of choice - hot and cold sandwiches, breakfasts, lots of cakes. I treated myself to a fattening fish finger cob, which tasted as good as comfort food gets - it was served with crisps, lovely coleslaw and a green salad. They are participating in the 50% off scheme, so it's particularly good value at the moment. However, and the reason for the two stars - my salad was covered with what appeared to be mud. - lots of little black flecks that came off on your finger when you touched it. I pointed out to a staff member politely that I couldn't eat the salad because it looked like someone had forgotten to wash the lettuce. No apology was offered - she just took the plate from me. When I was leaving she told me that the lettuce wasn't dirty, but it was only discoloured black. I don't want to pay for a salad that is covered with black spots whatever the reason. So instead of apologising and offering to replace it with fresh salad, the staff member acted as if I was somehow overly picky because I didn't want to eat old lettuce. I came here because of the good reviews I read on Trip Advisor, but I would be reluctant to return given how I was treated when I pointed out a genuine problem.

My husband and I come here often . They have a good choice of food . You can get breakfast here , snacks , lunch , and a lovely variety of cakes , scones tea cakes . Karen and her daughter always makes you feel welcome and do 110% to please you . Our favourite are crumpets , fish finger sandwiches, and the pate . It’s a quite a nice quaint old fashioned style with the China tea cups but it lovely . It can get very busy around lunchtimes and people often have no where to sit because she is full . What does that tell you . They are open Tuesday- Saturday from 8.30 am and in the summer you can sit outside . There is toilet facilities to the back of the cafe plus extra seating area . If you want to try this little gem out go early because they get busy .

Our cafe of choice, we visit here very often to have a sandwich and coffee. Always go for the cheese salad option and have it with their fresh granary bread. Absolutely delicious, so fresh and I love the sides of coleslaw, crisps and a side salad as you always feel like you get excellent value for money. Coffee is delicious too! Lovely staff but my only wish is that the cafe itself was bigger as you can’t always get a space! Sometimes they run out of things quickly but I don’t mind as the food is so fresh.

Called here today Saturday 9th feb 2019 for elevenses. First time visit, quite small but tables well placed. Other good thing is there is a toilet. Decent menu and not too badly priced at side of other shops in town. Coffee was nice but what they call large to me is a medium. Toast was thick bread, marmalade wasnt the best ive had. Downside was the butter with only 2 pats of butter ie one per slice which barely covers the toast-other cafes give more without having to ask. Service was ok and friendly staff. Not sure if we will go there again though.

Been here a few times for coffee, and always thought it was fine but most recently left a feeling a bit miffed. First time we rdered cake with our coffee and they were so thinly cut they must have risked slicing their own fingers to do it! It was almost comedy in it's meanness. By our reckoning, at £2.50 a slice, their portion sizes mean they must be getting 24-30 slices from each cake - making at least £60 per full cake! Quite the mark-up. So congrats on that business mantra - but you lost customers over it. Won't be there again.

I must say I convinced my husband to go to this cafe for a change. We had a Bacon and brie panini and a ham and cheese one , a coffee and a pot of tea a total of £16.00. Boy what a rip off . The food was nothing special —for that price we expected good quality ham not what we class as plastic ham. The lettuce was very sparce along with a quarter of tomato and slithers of cucumber and coleslaw in tiny pots and about half a dozen crisps These paninis were £5.95 that is very expensive for what we got with it.. I always check my tea cups and it was still slightly stained and had bits in the bottom which i took out with my finger. I dont complain I just eat and leave a honest review. We will not be returning.

Attractive frontage and reasonably decorated cafe. Limited menu so ordered coffee and and jacket potatoes for a quick snack. Called in here for a late breakfast come lunch whilst visiting my son at university, i do visit many cafes on my travels and i have to say with regret this is my worst i dont like putting negative reviews on but i felt ripped off. My son had a ham sandwich which contained the cheapest plastic ham you can buy and the thickest bread mentionable, my husband and myself had a panini mine was with bacon and brie it was so dry and could not taste the brie at all no salad just coleslaw and crisps. We all had drinks and the bill came to £22 i left feeling ripped off i dont mind paying for something that is worth paying for. When we first arrived at the cafe and i asked if we could have food here as it was 11 30am the response was yes but you might have to wait as im on my own bearing in mind there were only two more tables in who had been served already. We decided to go else where for cake.

Proprietor took offence when it was pointed out to her that the teacup still had remnants from what had previously been in it. She asked me if I didn't like it because it was "shabby chic" and didn't seem to understand that dirty crockery is not a necessary part of the ambience. "Do you want another one then?" could have been rephrased along the lines of "Oh, that's not good, let me get you another one".She also seemed to think the customers would appreciate her loud commentary on her Halloween arrangements, etc, etc. A lovely small quirky venue, but it doesn't have the space for the customers' conversations to compete against this.

Popped in for a late lunch as working split shifts in a restaurant doesn't leave a lot left open.Advertised as selling jacket potatoes but were told before ordering they had run out. No problem as we had been informed prior to placing our order and we could have opted to leave. Instead we had 2 sandwiches, one toasted, a tea and a cappuccino. My sandwich arrived first and it was a good 5 minutes if not longer before my boyfriend's toastie was brought out. Then came the cappuccino followed shortly after by my tea. To be honest this is not great service, ideally drink should have arrived before the food and both items should have arrived together. Instead it was more of a case of start making them at the same time and send them out as and when they are ready. My boyfriend enjoyed his toastie a lot, the same however cannot be said for my sandwich. At £4.95 my sandwich, smattering of crisps and coleslaw all had until very recently been pre-packaged. The cheese was the pre-grated kind that you buy to make life easy for yourself but has a powdery coating on it to prevent the individual strands going mouldy too quickly, if I'm not mistaken the ham was the reformed kind that had a slight gritty texture where the bone had been mechanically reclaimed and pulped in with the rest of the "meat" and the coleslaw was simply transferred from a pot to tub.The place was very nice and I agree with a previous reviewer that it was quite quaint but it was a very odd set-up for a cafe. The cakes did look very nice but we chose not to have one.The staff were very friendly and perhaps the style of service is no fault of their own, I just think it's not too much to ask for our food to arrive at the same time. For the price there are places serving better quality food in Loughborough and with so much competition I think a perfect blend really need to up their game. Sorry guys!
