Another lovely visit. We both had one of the days specials. Pork, stuffing, pear chutney sandwiches with salad and crisps. Absolutely delicious with a great coffee as well. The staff are friendly, efficient and we so look forward to our visits.

We popped in for a quick lunch....place was busy but quickly we had our table cleaned and wiped and ready to go! We ordered one of the specials -roast beef with caramelised onion and cheddar melt- great choice as panini was very tasty and good quality of beef..my friend had homemade soup full of flavours & delicious. We decided to have a cake between us as they are generous with slices and price was good.. Overall our visit was very nice...service great! Everyone was so nice and happy to help.Nothing was a problem-good idea with water jugs on the side-so staff could concentrate on service rather than serving tap water. Well done!and thank you for lovely visit! Highly recommend:)

Not true all the time when it is perceived or part of the truth. Never not true when it is (the whole) truth. I ordered the beef sandwich. I explicitly asked for no mustard. The sandwich came with mustard, which consequently had to be changed. It was accompanied by a derisory portion of salad and a small bowl of crisps. The beef was processed meat, tasteless, and bad for your health. It was terrible. I thought the dessert might improve things. In fact, it got worse. My cousin ordered the chocolate cake which was cut so thinly it was insulting and tasteless, I asked the young girl to cut my Victoria sponge more generously which she did. I asked for cream. I was told this was extra. It came in a small cup not much bigger than an egg cup. This had to be shared between the two of us and provided us with approximately a large tablespoon each. It was a miserable meal and all I can say is I can't believe all the positive reviews.

Visiting southport for the day and saw the good reviews for here so we thought we'd give it a try. Soooo glad we did. Such a brilliant cafe. Arrived about half an hour before closing so it was very quiet. Staff following covid guidelines to the letter. Staff friendly and polite as well as offering excellent service. Thanks so much to them. A nice selection of cakes on offer and a good selection of drinks. Asked for our drinks to be extra hot and they where made perfectly. The chocolate orange cake was amazing....so flavoursome, rich yet Such a light sponge...one of the best we've ever had. Recommend the orange hot chocolate too....so lovely. plus the prices are so very reasonable too. Highly recommend this delightful cafe. Please pop along and support them

I go here often with my mum as it is well worth the price. Isn’t too expensive but if you consider it £7 for a panini expensive, let me tell you... it is worth it. Salad that comes with the panini is also very good and get a good amount and a little set of crisps on the side. If you aren’t wanting food, the cake in GLP is amazing! The portion sizes are huge!! Which is good for someone like me however if you’re feeling like a small piece, ask and they will cut a smaller piece. It is all homemade cake and the millionaire shortbread is the best. The size if it wow! Definitely recommend taking a friend or family member here

Situated just inside the museum, this little cafe was a real find. The children had sandwiches made freshly for them - seeded bread with local Han- and served with a few crisps on the side. Hubby and I shared leek and potato soup and a hummus, carrot and salad sandwich (£5.99, I think). We also shared a slice of chocolate caramel cake and a Custard Cream Blondie. Both of which were generously portioned and absolutely lovely! The atmosphere was relaxed and staff were really friendly and helpful. It really lived up to its name: A great little place!

I only discovered this little gem whilst visiting estate agents looking for a commercial property.'It is literally around the corner from the sister restaurant in London Street Southport. It is bigger and more comfortable. They have the same great menu: really scrum my home made offerings: souls to die for from chefs who won't tell ( " I would have to kill you lol" ).I was in a rush and the young lady wrapped my humous salad roll into foil and brown paper. Both of these places are busy so pick your times. I think they are bistros certainly not cafes".If I could be so bold as to make an observation : actually more of a selfish opinion I suppose. There's a large variety of tempting cake.I would much prefer savoury / ultra healthy choices. It may have changed now but my favourite eating place of the lot is the bistro under the Everyman theatre. The decor and food were so Bohemian I adored the place. Exotic rice/ pasta/ pepper dishes with things like aubergines and pomegranate seeds Yum yum now I am hungry!

I eat and drink at "A great little place" several times a week and have done for several years now. The food and drinks are always fantastic. I consider myself to be a bit picky when it comes to my morning cup of coffee. In fact there are plenty of places I wont even consider buying one at, but given my choice of all the shops in the town centre, this is always my first choice. The food is also of an exceptionally high standard, nicely presented and at a fair price, again its more often than not my place of choice for a quick sandwich or salad etc. What really sets this place apart from most other places is the level of service and character of the staff. It was a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere and nice to find you could say hello or good morning to other customers without being looked at as though you have two heads. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was nice to see how they interacted with customers some you could tell were regulars, others like us had just wandered in. We will definately be visiting again, it was very reasonable and there are plenty of delicious looking cakes to try, but if you're peckish in the morning go and get a bacon sandwich you'll be glad you did!

I have come here on many occasions and Every time Ieave very satisfied. The coffee is amazing, the service is quick and friendly and overall it's just a brilliant place for a coffee and a catch up with friends. I would definitely recommend this 'Great Little Place' to anyone in its vicinity especially since its only a few minutes away from Southport's major train station there is no excuse for not giving it a try. Keep up the fantastic work.

Whenever we are in Southport we visit The Great Little Place for breakfast or for lunch. It is run by a charity which supports young people with autism. Many youngsters have already benefited from the training they receive here and gone on to a career in catering. However, don't for one minute imagine that the food and the service are anything less than first class. In our opinion their food and service are indeed impeccable. Each sandwich or meal is individually prepared and served with a touch of pride. They use fresh local ingredients. For a cafe of its style this cafe is as good as it gets. You can also get a good book for a small donation and there are paintings on the walls and jewellery in a glass cupboard. Instead of lavishing OBE's and MBE's on millionaire sportspeople and show business folk, give them to the dedicated people who organise such great opportunities for our youngsters who only need a strong guiding hand to give them a valuable start. Well done, 'A Great Little Place".

This appropriately named great little place is a simply brilliant lunch venue. We've been here on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. The food and coffee are delicious and the atmosphere is business-like and welcoming. Plus it serves a good cause. Don't tell too many people about it though!

We went to Southport on a new year's break. We found the Wellington by accident while looking for somewhere to watch the world darts on TV. It really is a gem of a local pub and the staff were so accommodating to us. Plenty of good beer including craft ale hand pulls at extremely reasonable prices. Thanks guys, highly recommended.

Just had an excellent bacon, sausage and cheese toastie (with chilli sauce); and a goats cheese, pesto, tomato and rocket focaccia. Best quality in Ainsdale! And loads of goodies on the shelves.

Went for brunch. Took a while to decide what to choose as there are so many things to choose from. I had the corned beef hash with spicy beans,.. my mother had a mushroom omelette. Both were piping hot an delicious. Will definitely call in again before I leave the area.

Ordered a breakfast wrap & it was delicious the wrap was big enough to hold entire filling in place.. no dripping or unfolding which would cause a messy eat. Fast delivery & food hot on arrival will absolutely order from flight 22 again well done guys & thank you :)
