Not impressed by the pizza. A very average one and not Italian or authentic.

A firm favourite of my dining partner who lives locally and with whom I meet occasionally for breakfast here. The FEB breakfasts are comprehensive, large and she rarely finishes hers. A free Americano with every breakfast order. Covers for about a score inside, with additional alfresco seating where the traffic misbehaving on the busy road can be scoffed at, while enjoying your coffee. On street parking, for those travelling beyond walking distance, is unpredictable. Famously award winning for pizzas with a good delivery service, but this aspect has not yet been tried by this reviewer

The best pizza I have had in a long time! I stayed just down the road in an Airbnb and they recommend this place and I now know why! Wish I lived nearby to have more

We ate here twice whilst staying in Bristol. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The pizza and calzone are fantastic. They are worthy of 5 stars. The rest of the food we tried was perfectly ok but nothing special. We would go again if we were back in the area.

We have been going here for years and tonight was superb! The pizzas we had were unreal - honestly the best I’ve had. We had C Major, Glissando and kids pizza (my daughters exact words were “10 out of 10 and I can’t take my eyes off that yummy pizza”) mine tasted even better cold when I got home (didn’t last until the morning that good!) I understand they have changed owners but appear to have some chefs and ingredients sourced which are the best ! I really like how you can take your own booze as this allows us to keep the cost down and come more often !!! Decor and toilet have had a needed redecorate. Staff lovely, friendly, helpful and engaging with us and our daughter which makes a perfect family meal. Thanks guys ! See you again soon

Went there with my daughter for lunch. We fancied a pizza as believed they did very good pizzas. They only do a limited menu at lunch. The pizza we ordered was very delicious even though it wasn't exactly what we would have normally ordered. The base was very light thin crispy and tasty, the toppings were also delicious. Other items were also on the menu. The cafe also sold lovely cakes, milk shakes, tea, and coffee. There are some limited parking spaces to the front of the cafe

Nice little cafe place with wide range of food selection. Have been here twice - first time for food and coffee and today I just got some coffee and tea as a takeaway. Both times the food and drinks had been great and staff are friendly and helpful.

I'm so disappointed with my last experience at Acapella. This used to be such a lovely place to visit and it's only on my doorstep! The food has always been amazing. Unfortunately I have no idea how the quality of the food is now as we didn't get that far but its safe to say the service has taken a turn for the worst.. Me and my partner came in on a quiet evening with only one other couple in the entire restaurant. We could feel that the atmosphere was negative almost immediately but chose to stay. We were given an apology for the slow service which is completely fine. I'm a reasonable person with over ten years hospitality experience. Perhaps the waitress was having a bad day? That's fine. But the attitude I recieved upon ordering my meal was not. The waitress seemed completely rushed off her feet and with only one other couple in the restaurant it felt a little odd. I got the impression that we were a total inconvenience and felt like we shouldn't even be there. I can forgive mistakes but when I was met with constant sighing and "well what do you want?!" when I asked to replace a missing item, I'd had enough. There was no chance we were paying to eat somewhere to be treated like this so we left. This really isn't good enough. Awful atmosphere. Dreadful attitude and generally a bad experience. Do better!

We had heard really great things about this place as we recently moved into the area, so wanted to try it out. We were sadly left quite disappointed... If this place wasn't BYO I think it'd probably be 1 star for me. The pizza was so average, the arancini was definitely just microwaved as it had no crunch to it whatsoever and £6.50 for a green salad with cucumber and tomato...? We also asked for some garlic oil which was £1 extra (I don't know why) and, I don't think I've ever said this in my life, but it was so unbelievably garlicky, I can still taste it the following day. Raw garlic is so strong and you don't need to add that much to the oil -- it really ruined my pizza actually. The vibe inside wasn't great and we waited absolutely ages for our pizza as they had so many takeaway orders and delivery people coming in and out. We also were asked if we were able to come earlier than we had initially wanted for our booking which was fine, but no one came in after us so it just felt like they wanted us in at a time that suited them so they could go home early... All in all - quite a disappointment...

Consistently excellent pizza, lovely little gem just outside the centre!

Really enjoyed breakfast had a job to eat it all. Nicely presented and cooked well. Good quality food. Had a really good vibe and banter with presumably the owner. Will definitely return for something different to eat. The staff were very friendly and busy.

There was a time when Acapellas won awards for its Pizzas, but that was before it changed ownership, a couple of years ago. Acapellas used to be our favourite takeaway with the best Pizza around. We wanted to continue to support a local business, but I'm sorry to report that the quality has declined so much, we will no longer be ordering here. We've sadly had too many disappointing pizzas, we often have the one with an egg, but the last three times, the egg white has been uncooked and runny. We did complain the first time, and they did send out a new pizza, but it's got to the point where we just ask not to have the egg, anymore. Tonight, the blandest pizza I've had the misfortune to consume. Looking under the topping, it appears as if there has been virtually no tomato sauce applied to the base. My wife's pizza was supposed to have smoked pancetta, it had two tiny pieces. I understand that the cost of ingredients has gone up, but with each order the toppings seem to be more miserly than the last, and I just can't understand how you can manage to produce something so bland. So, I'm sorry, but we just don't feel confident in ordering here any longer.

A cracking local gem with friendly staff, great cosy atmosphere and very reasonably priced (and delicious food). I am very lucky to have somewhere like this so local. Orders were hand written and prices added on a calculator by the staff, I personally found this added to chilled vibe of the establishment and gave it a lovely, cosy quality. It was really nice to not have the staff hiding behind screens when taking and totalling orders. Salmon on ciabatta for breakfast was great! I will be back to try more of the evening’s pizza menu in due course!

10 pizzas ordered for delivery on Saturday for a party. all arrived piping hot, absolutely delicious and on time. Good and service superb thank you Tony and team Accapella!

We celebrated my mums 60th birthday at accapella last night. I can't rate this place enough! The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. The staff went the extra mile to make it special for my mum. I will definitely be returning.

I often visit accapela at lunchtime. I am always amazed at the quality of the food and drinks. I especially enjoy the Sicilian burger meal. The burgers are made to order and taste amazing. Just as the menu says they are served in ciabatta rolls, with green salad and fried potatoes; delicious!! The staff are friendly and efficient, offering the best service locally. Their pizzas are al excellent, the best in Bristol.

Pizza was great but it took a long time to come out

A friend & I were going to an evening cookery class at the Little Kitchen Cookery school. We wanted a light bite somewhere close by to keep us going until we ate the results of our cooking. A Cappella was a very lucky find. We had a plate of their Tapas. really tasty, generous portions and excellent value for money. We live 40 miles south of Bristol and met several traffic problems on the drive up. we phoned the cafe to apologise & explain that we would be late. We were told " don't worry, its a Friday, it happens. Better that you get here safely." What a kind, lovely response. Wish we lived closer to Bristol, we’d become regulars there.

I been there this afternoon 03/06/2023 at 13:00 with my girlfriend we had a mozzarella burger that wasn’t cooked properly the burger doesn’t come with a burger bun but a baguette bread instead the potatoes are burnt and swim in oil and my gf had a pasta with salmon that she barely ate so rich and taste nothing near good , with a waiter never came to check back how the food was and not even after we finished I think that is the worst food I had in the uk ever . ( MOZZARELLA IN A BURGER!!!!!!!! )

Acappella is the No.1 pizza in Bristol, so good that Bristol's No.2 may as well be No.3

Great streetside cafe. Lunch menu is different to the evening which is when the famous pizza's are available. Outside seating too if you don't mind the traffic.

Fantastic food and top notch service and great service also take your drink so no rip off drink prices this restaurant comes highly recommended

Sadly not as good as it used to be. The quality and quantity of of the toppings on all 5 of our pizzas were dissapointing. The pizza bases were either very soft and soggy with too much oil and an overpowering taste of garlic on some or they were overdone. The lasgagne also wasn't great with very thick pasta. We've been coming here for years but the last two occasions have not been great. Service was slow but friendly on both occasions and seemed short staffed on both nights.

Seriously good pizza, very friendly and accommodating staff. They didn't mind most of my party being very late and us ordering pizzas all over the place :) we were also in a hurry and they were very understanding about that Their calzone is amazing and I will be back to have more

Delicious pizza and delightfully kind service. The place is a bit small but not lacking in anything. Getting a table may be difficult but worth the wait. Was also lovely to see them stock and promote local artists' work 😊

Nice family run business. Everyone there seemed to be enjoying themselves very much especially with the BYOB policy. Service was good, fast and product was made up of high quality ingredients and good value for money. I thought the pizza could have had a slightly better dough (bit flat), more sauce and a lot less olive oil. It had remnants of a neopolitan pizza but felt a little let down.

Amazing experience here for a valentines diner, the menu had me before we even arrived with so many delicious sounding options, compared very well to eating in Italy, atmosphere was perfect, not too loud, not too quiet, staff were lovely and pizzas and desserts better than another other Italian I’ve tried in in the uk! Will definitely be back again.

We waited an hour and a half for three pizzas. 🙃 The garlic bread was disappointing, and so was the pizza.

Delicious breakfasts/brunches, had quite a few there...always yummy. Went in the evening for the first time recently, with bf for pizza...was absolutely delicious & ab fab atmosphere. Highly recommend. ☺️

Acapella was taken on by new owners last year, we've had takeaways and eaten in since then and the standard was almost as high as it always has been which was a relief. We ordered a takeaway this week and tgere is a definite change in the quality of the ingredients. The peperoni, which was always thick and taaty has been replaced by a bland wafer thin version. The fresh mozzarella has been replaced with a very creamy but poorer quality cheese, rhat overpowered everything. Hopefully this is a one off poor show and not the influence of the new owners affecting the menu and quality of the ingredients. We won't be back anytime soon.

My daughter had her graduation ceremony at Bristol Cathedral. We hadn’t been able to book a table anywhere in advance so called here as it was on our way home & we’d often said about visiting. Only a small place but we had a table for 5. It’s a BYO which we hadn’t realised but we weren’t too fussed on having alcoholic drinks. Pizza’s & garlic bread were lovely. Staff all helpful & friendly. Will visit again, breakfast & lunch choices look good.

Lovely breakfast. Coffee was ok but as a Canadian I found the coffee strangely served with semi-skimmed milk.. it was found wanting! Really needed light cream to lift it up! Great egg and bacon toast.. lots of bacon and NOT greasy. Would certainly go back, but will have tea next time round!!

Tony and his team went above and beyond to create a lovely birthday party for my mum's 65th birthday. We were a big group and I spoke to him before and he arranged a platter of starters on arrival, with some delicious options. Then, we were given some amazing pizzas ... All vegetarian (our choice) and a wide range, they all tasted good and there were pizzas for the kids too ... It was a special gathering and we didn't have to do a thing, all those who came really enjoyed. I'd recommend A cappella for your family celebration. Thanks

For a long time i thought this restaurant was just a Pizza place, until I visited in person. The specials board is filled with all kinds of pasta, salads, wraps, sandwiches and Tapas. The breakfast menu is also very good, my favourite is scrambled egg or the Frittata is so delicious I highly recommend trying it. For children they have toasties, milkshakes and cakes, my daughter is a fussy eater but can always find something to suit. A family run business that is a real gem. My waitress Silvie was so polite and knowledgeable, and has made great recommendations more than once.

Fabulous service, utterly delicious pizza and a wonderful atmosphere. I live the other side of Bristol, so unfortunately can't eat here often, but am never disappointed when I do.

We've been eating here and getting deliveries for longer than I can remember, and I can honestly say it's a delight every time. It's usually a treat when we need picking up and it works every time. Even with the new places opening up, these guys still knock out some of the absolute best in town. The service is just perfect. They can't do too much. Thank you all at A Cappella for all your hard work.

This spot was highly recommended to us by our AirBnB host and it’s not hard to see why! A cosy and warm atmosphere, accommodating and friendly staff plus the food was lovely. We had ciabatta with hummus to start and two pizzas for our main and it was all so tasty. We highly recommend!

Terrible awful service in Acappella tonight 22nd April 9pm. Will not be ordering from them again. I ordered and paid for 2 pizzas at 8pm for collection at 9pm. When i got there two customers were in front of me, we were all waiting outside. The two in front of me got their pizzas. I was still waiting 15 minutes later. Eventually one young girl came out to tell me it would be ready in 3 mins. 3 minutes past then same young girl came out to say "Really sorry but one of your pizzas got burnt." Not happy, how come no one else's managed to get burnt No real apology from the 2 sheepish looking blokes (making pizzas)at the back. Just loads of ineffectual girls milling about not knowing what to say to me and getting defensive with me (apart from one).👎🏾

[second edit and word of warning: no booking confirmation provided and they messed up our original booking, later providing vouchers in response to my review] With that out of the way, we had a fantastic meal at A Capella—it combines great atmosphere with a fantastic fresh menu and the BYOB element adds another lovely, homely twist. All the food was excellent. The pizzas are both delicious and great value, and we truly enjoyed our visit once we finally managed to eat there! Definitely worth a visit and no surprise at all to see that it's an award-winning establishment tl;dr of my original review: They booked us in for the wrong date and did nothing to rectify their mistake on the day; later offering vouchers when I published my review. Mistakes happen but a booking confirmation would not go amiss, especially if staff aren't confident with the booking system!
