The Crown

Aberffraw,Rhosneigr, Isle of Anglesey, >100£
31/05/2019: Really pleasant staff, good selection of ales and a very nice rear beer garden & Dog friendly also. Just off the main road an ideal stop off after a walk or day on the beach 👍
30/05/2019: First time visitor to Anglesey and started looking for something to eat in Holyhead; waste of time. Followed Tripadvisor to this little gem of a pub. What a delight. Busy with food still at 8pm on a weeknight (good indicator), despite which they still managed to find me a table. I’m always drawn to a good steak and ale pie and theirs did not disappoint. The photo says it all and honestly I didn’t have any room left for a pudding. (Particularly frustrating as I had seen another table’s brownie with ice cream which looked Devine!) Portion size good without being too big. Food quality, excellent. Service, fabulous, swift, courteous, efficient. Thank you to all who served me, I look forward to coming again!

W. T. Roberts Bakery

Beaumaris, Isle of Anglesey
26/05/2019: I really wish I lived near to this bakery so I could use it regularly. Unfortunately I was only in Beaumaris for a couple of days.
26/04/2019: We literally travel from Gaerwen to beaumaris via 2 buses just for the bread (we also buy sausage rolls and cakes too as we can't resist)

Sosban and The Old Butchers Restaurant

Cadnant, Isle of Anglesey
17/04/2019: A truly lovely meal. I have been lucky enough to have eaten out all over the country for 50 years and this was the finest gastronomic experience to date in Wales. Eight courses, every one superb. No need for advice. Admire the food briefly and then enjoy it. The Pinna Fidelis red wine from the Ribera del Doura was exceptionally good. Service was attentive and helpful.
07/04/2019: We have been lucky enough to get a table several times as Sosban and never been disappointed.

Harry's Bistro

Beaumaris, Isle of Anglesey
09/06/2019: We received a warm welcome and shown to our table. The waitress explained the menu's available to choose from, including the Specials Board. On placing our order we relaxed and enjoyed the spectacular views of the North Wales coast line. The food and service was excellent throughout and we will look forward to returning soon.
31/05/2019: Quite difficult to find being off the beaten track and adjacent to Henllys Golf Club. But, well worth the effort to find it. Super location overlooking the Menai Straits. Very good menu and the food was superb, well cooked and presented. We had smoked salmon starters followed by faggots(Welsh lamb a speciality) and Duck, both dishes were really scrumptious.

Liverpool Arms

Cadnant, Isle of Anglesey
16/05/2019: Fantastic service and food. I had the child’s size sausage and mash, and my husband had the Beef and chilli Nachos. We sat outside as the is a separate outside area for smokers, so there was no problem with cigarette smoke. I would highly recommend this pub you won’t be disappointed. Food much better than Dylan’s in my opinion.
13/05/2019: Been a few times and rate the food highly. Only had one disappointment which was a pudding. I asked the manager to taste it himself and he did and agreed with me and I wasn't charged. He dealt with my complaint properly. Other than that one incident, I've been very pleased with the food and the service. Parking' the only problem.

Sea buck thorn, mango & passionfruit sorbet, apricot sorbet, BlackBerry sorbet, mint choc chip, jelly baby all were brilliant sea buck thorn for me as someone who trys all new flavours was amazing you must try.
29/05/2019: Lovely ice cream and lots of flavours to choose from. We enjoyed the ice cream so much, we were even happy to sit out and eat it while it was raining-under the shelter of course 😊

Wavecrest Cafe

Llanfaethlu, Isle of Anglesey, >100£
31/05/2019: A bit off the beaten track but well worth a visit for lunch. The cheese pie was recommended and we were not disappointed.
28/05/2019: Wonderful quirky cafe with brilliant food and drink all served with a big local smile. Eat in or outside. Salads are amazing, as are the bowls of chips. Licensed as well so have a local cider and a relax as you stop perhaps on your walk on the Anglesey Path that winds past the side of the cafe.

Pete's Burger Bar

Valley, Isle of Anglesey
28/05/2019: After a lovely couple of hours meandering the paths of the delightful park, nature reserve and coast we had worked up an appetite. Honestly- it was great! Everything cooked fresh to order, no scrimping on cheap ingredients- just honest food served with a smile. Don’t bother packing a picnic!
25/05/2019: Pete’s burger bar is a van parked in the car park of the Penrhos Coastal Park and could easily be overlooked, but we were heading there to walk the dogs and one of the locals we met said we must stop at Pete’s for a coffee or a bite. So we did. We had a burger and cappuccino which were both very tasty. The menu is simple but surprisingly varied, and it can’t be beaten for location when the weather is nice - we ate sitting on a bench overlooking a beautiful bay. Definitely worth a visit!

Happy Valley Pavilion

Beaumaris, Isle of Anglesey
06/06/2019: The staff here are so friendly and helpful with local knowledge. The coffee and scones were delicious and there’s a great view of the castle. Big thumbs up!
06/06/2019: Totally delicious mouth watering home made cakes and beautiful coffee. . So difficult to decide which to have so we each had a different one and all were absolutely gorgeous. Amazing value for money. Wish we had found this before trying Jolly's in the High Street which was expensive and very disappointing. The welcome from the staff at the Happy Valley cafe was first class. So friendly and helpful. They are a real credit to Beaumaris. Just so very sad that the Town Council who apparently own the site won't let them have a decent building and disabled toilets. This could be a real attraction to the Town. It is by far the best cafe in all the Town and yet it looks so unattractive from the outside. Don't be put off. It is well worth visiting. You won't be disappointed. The adjacent play area is free of charge and it gives children a chance to let off steam while you can enjoy cake! What could be better. Highly recommended. We went every day of the remainder of our holiday. We will be back!!!

Beau's Tea Rooms

Beaumaris, Isle of Anglesey
13/06/2019: Hands up, I had never heard of this lovely little cafe. I didn’t see it on the TV with the Hairy Bikers, nothing. We came across it totally by accident, it was lunchtime and we were hungry. We opened the door and were told the place was full and asked if we wouldn’t mind waiting. Others, behind us heard this and went elsewhere but we waited 5 minutes and were seated. I’m pleased we didn’t walk away. The tea was served in china and the food was good. The selection of homemade cakes was great. The cafe emptied out after lunchtime, but if you go there, and I suggest you do, wait to be seated if asked, it’s worth it.
09/06/2019: Well, our first visit to Beaumaris, and what a little gem of a tea rooms this is. The service was prompt and kind (I'm disabled) and we had lovely food - a fresh bacon butty for me (with lovely thick welsh bacon!) and my husband had a delicious cake, and both had a good strong tea from a teapot.

The Marram Grass Cafe

Rhosyr, Isle of Anglesey, 30-45£
03/06/2019: Visited on a busy Saturday night and had the 5 course tasting menu, we thoroughly enjoyed each course. The food was beautifully presented and the combination of flavours was perfect with a nice relaxed service. The only downside was the glass of Welsh sparkling wine suggested as an aperitif which proved to cost a shocking £11:50, stick with prosecco.
03/06/2019: We visited on Saturday night, a bit shocked they’ve changed the menu since our last visit, now you can only have a set menu or taster menu, we opted for the 5 course taster menu, I don’t like fish and the waitress confirmed they would change the crab for an alternative. The food was beautiful but the portions are very small, my husband was ok but I would have liked the main to be slightly bigger. The service was slightly slow but the waitress explained what ever course was and where the produce was from. Our Bill came to £137. For 2 including 2 gins they cost £19 .we would go again but not maybe in such a rush .

The Golden Fry

Brynteg, Isle of Anglesey
01/06/2019: We were wanting a fish and chip tea for the family at the end of our holiday. It was only by chance that we ended up at The Golden Fry but we were so pleased that we found it. It was just a shame that it was our last bight. Although there was a queue the service was well organised and quick. My daughter was thrilled to be able to have a portion too. She has to be gluten free and finds it hard to find fast food that caters to her needs. There was even gluten free gravy and vinegar.
25/05/2019: Our second visit to The Golden Fry whilst staying in Anglesey - I was looking forward to these all week and they didn't disappoint! The batter was even better than last time, super crispy and exactly how fish and chips should be. Fish was really fresh, and it's great that it's all gluten free so no risk of cross contamination! Good service, but very popular so do be prepared to wait (it's well worth it!)

Quays Cafe

Amlwch Port, Isle of Anglesey
26/05/2019: i must say this was the best cooked brealfast ive had in such a long time it was stunning big fat wedges of toasted bread it was to die for highly recommened
11/05/2019: We were staying down the street at the Liverpool Arms and this is very conveniently located near the Wales Coastal Path which we were walking. My teen and I had a wonderful breakfast with excellent internet. WE sat inside because it was a cool drizzly morning but the outside patio looked like a great place to enjoy the hustle and bustle. Great coffee!
