Y Parlwr Restaurant in Isle of Anglesey

The wife and I attended Y Parlwr to celebrate her birthday. It has to rank as one of the best fine dining experiences we have ever had. From the momemt we arrived until the moment we left we have nothing but praise! A lovely venue with pleasant, professional and friendly staff. We had the Parlwr Complete Experience with wine pairing. Every dish was magnificent and the wine pairing certainly enhanced the experience. A must for any serious foodie!

The staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and the music and ambience created a great atmosphere. Most of all the food was unbelievably good! Everything was beautifully presented and so delicious I didn’t want it to end!

Visited Y Parlwr as a treat to celebrate and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere is beautiful and the entire experience from start to finish was incredible. The staff were extremely efficient, professional, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was out of this world, and without spoiling it too much for future visitors to Y Parlwr, it was a dining experience like no other. I enjoyed every second. 10/10 recommend if you are visiting anywhere near Rhosneigr.

From stepping through the door to leaving, the best restaurant experience my wife and I have had in a very long time. Visually, each dish was beautifully presented which matched the tastes and sensations when it came to eating it. My wife decided to go for the wine flight which perfectly enhanced the experience. Both Dan, the restaurant manager and Ed, the barman, were friendly, warm, engaging and very knowledgeable. They gave a concise description of the food and wine pairing which certainly helped when trying to work out some of the ingredients and tastes. It was great that the final 2 courses were delivered by Hefin and Ffion who also were keen on any feedback. Overall, easily a 5 star experience.

My wife & I ate here last Saturday evening. We had the most incredible 4 hours….the time flew by…enjoying every single one of the 12 beautifully prepared and presented courses. In our opinion easily Michelin Star standard but in a very relaxed and friendly environment. Dan and his colleague were very professional and friendly and made us feel like old friends. We loved the wine pairing which was just the right volume of drink in our opinion. I cannot stress enough how seriously impressive the whole experience was…..one of our favourite meals of all time……Chapeau !!

We first met Heffin - chef patron at the Hayloft restaurant and it was clear he was producing Michelin Star standard food. Waited a long time to catch up here and omg was the wait worthwhile! A superb 'Michelin Star' experience throughout. The restaurant decor was superb, the welcome and service from host Dan exemplary and icing on the cake - just stunning food - one of the very best tasting menus we've experienced along with a perfectly matched wine flight 😋. The chef Patron took the time to talk through everything which is a huge part of the 360° experience! Stayed at the groups Sandymount which was also sublime from all aspects. Seriously 110% service at all levels and if the Michelin folk have missed this superb restaurant and destination, they should be ashamed!!

If you are wondering if Y Parlwr is worth a visit, please just get a booking. You won't be disappointed! We have been lucky enough to enjoy taster menus in some amazing restaurants, and this meal was right up there with the best. Highlight after highlight, lovely staff and a great night. 👏👏

Wow. What an experience this was. From the adventure of knocking on the door to be allowed in, the warm welcome, to the unique decor, the food, the wine, the atmosphere. Y Parlwr is an absolute must for that special occasion. The attention to detail in every course is second to none, the combination of flavours, everything just worked and it exceeded our expectations (which were already pretty high)! Thank you Hef, Dan and your very small team. You are awesome and you deserve to fly.

Superb experience and fantastic food. Yes it's expensive but you only live once and it's ideal for that special occasion. Staff were very informed and attentive and the chef was very friendly.

I came to the restaurant for a tasting menu with wine pairings. As soon as I walked into the testaurant, I knew it would be something special. From the ambience to the lighting and staging this is a beuatiful setting reminiscent of all the elements from the sea and island of Anglesey. Very carefully thought out - very relaxing atmosphere. The tasting menu was absolutely beautiful. Each course was better than the next...visually a delight, so creative not only in the mastery of the chef but also in the delivery and execution. My taste buds came alive!!! Beautiful wine pairings... Cannot recommend highly enough for any occasion. I will be back every time I visit Anglesey!!! A must for every foodie.

Everything was perfection, couldn’t fault a single thing from the food to the service and the handmade serving dishes. The best meal we have ever had and we have eaten at many Michelin 1 and 2 star establishments.

What an amazing restaurant from arriving and being looked after by Dan ,the atmosphere was cosy and intimate but relaxing with fab music playing . The tasting menu was exceptional each course was a work of art and a taste sensation. The flight of wines complemented each course perfectly. Y Parlwr is so clearly a labour of love it felt like a privilege to share it with the team in such an intimate and friendly setting. This was a fiesta of flavour, creativity, and fine cooking with fantastic ingredients.

Y Parlwr – What can I say! We had an amazing evening with the best food, many surprises and a delightful selection of wines. We both had the Standard menu, which was anything but standard, with such an exquisite collaboration of tastes and sights. Starting with Hefin’s breads and nibbly tasters, what an incredible marriage of design, between the carefully engineered plates and the food balances, fabulous. The jam laverbread nestled between the lightest, cheesiest, savory wafers together with the oyster in their elements of the sea bites were outstanding. I particularly liked the lemon glaze on the cod roll. The middle of the meal had venison tartare with beetroot in a truly fine pasty case, scallops with sticky rice and umeboshi, which was a plum like fruit with acidic salty taste. The two types of beef, with a shiny, real depth of flavour jus were incredible. What a spectacular display of desserts. Commencing with a transition of epoisse toasty and going onto spun sugar banana delight with surprise treacle fudge in the centre which took me back to bonfire night when I was young. The most heavenly ice cream, the attention to detail was superb, it had a subtle lemon curd hidden in the base of the cone. The second wine we had was the most interesting; Chateau Mercian Yamanashi Koshu, along with the delicate light dessert wine, Arele vino santo. These paired perfectly with our dishes. Throughout the meal our waiter guided us through the meal with the right amount of attention, but discretely waiting, to meet all our needs. He was knowledgeable and the genuine warmth of his hospitality contributed to the overall ambience. Overall Y Parlwr is an exceptional gem that seamlessly fuses Welsh and Japanese cuisines, creating an unparalleled dining experience on Anglesey. I have eaten in many Michelin restaurants all over the world, mostly 3 star, and this definitely deserves to get on the ladder soon. A night to remember the blending of Welsh and Japanese flavours is very clever.
