The best restaurants serving Thai food in Guildford South East

One of my favourite restaurants! Amazing food and service.

We thought we'd try something different for a quick dinner! The menu looked appealing and the food is cooked (or rather reheated) in front of you in a hot wok with lots of flames, which was an impressive show. I chose the "General Thai" which looked like stir fried battered chicken and vegetables on rice, on the menu. (Price was £10) The food itself though was not great, in fact it was awful. The 'battered' chicken was hard and overcooked, made worse by reheating in a wok. It would have been "ok" except for the charred taste, which at first I thought was just a smoky flavour, but actually became overwhelming and tasted like lighter fluid or some other inedible fuel you might ignite a barbecue with. The taste lingered afterwards for several hours, making me feel quite unwell. We have been put off and will not be returning to any of these fast food vendors in the food hall.

Brilliant food - always a great visit. Update December 2023, still great food and service! Update September 2024, still great food and service! I particularly think their efforts to hide a door on the side for Deliveroo/Uber Eats drivers is a nice touch and maintains the atmosphere in the restaurant. Update February 2025: this place will always be great 👍🏻
