It was a great experience to celebrate birthday with family at la fonda. Food was tasty and the portion size was great. David was very helpful and he served our table amazingly. Lovely food in what would be a cosy bar and restaurant had it not been for the fact that the room was very cold on the evening we went in September. Good selection of small and large plates and friendly staff to help you choose a suitable selection for your party. Enjoyed the house wine very much. Sort of place you’d be glad to have as a neighbourhood restaurant if you lived in the area. Do try it

We celebrated our grandsons 9th birthday at DA and it was superb. Looks very unassuming from the outside but once you enter it is pure España. We ordered various breads to to get us going whilst we awaited our tapas. We did order around 16 dishes between us and all were absolutely delicious so full credit to the chef 👏👏 Our waiter was spot on and looked after us very well. No negatives at all and hence no hesitation in recommending.

Food and drink ok but expensive bill.Didn't get a breakdown for the four of us when paid,the drinks must have pricey as food costs were on the menu.

I’m 19 years old and went in with friends, the blonde girl behind the bar was lovely but the older lady with the glasses was very rude glaring at us, didn’t greet us and told us that we weren’t allowed to drink in there because we weren’t 21? Which i don’t believe is in the policy at all and she didn’t even say sorry about that just watched us walk out! Very rude and felt very uncomfortable.

San Carlo has a very interesting menu with a lot of different kinds of Italian starters and pizza, pasta and traditional dishes for the main course. After all of that there is the possibility of a very nicely presented dessert, which I do not always do, but here it was excellent. I like to finish with coffee and a liqueur, and the Italian grappa is a nice alternative available here in several varieties. Of these one can of course only have one, and Grappa San Carlo seemed good value. And the restaurant is a good place into which to go when starting to find the streets tiring after a morning of shopping!
