It was a great experience to celebrate birthday with family at la fonda. Food was tasty and the portion size was great. David was very helpful and he served our table amazingly. To be honest, we did not know that this was an ‘all you can eat’ restaurant. Our fault completely, however not totally… Although no prices were displayed, we didn’t grasp the concept, nor was it explained to us. Our welcome to the restaurant was somewhat non-existent. I have to agree that it is understaffed and that the waiting on staff did try their best. This place has no ‘ambience’ and the lighting is akin to that in a shoe shop. The owners probably had little money to spend on the decor and flooring, but there is an old loose ‘carpet plate’ in the middle of the laminate flooring which even the waiter tripped over. The food arrived cold and was not of a good standard. We had the first six plates and decided to leave. The staff were a little perplexed, that was probably because we had not grasped that it was a fixed price and I suppose that not many customers had previously left after just six plates. I would much rather pay per item and have a quality product, than have ‘an all you can eat’ meal of poor quality. I really don’t like berating small businesses and wholeheartedly support them where I can. I am sure that the owners could focus and deliver a good product, but they need to address a number of issues and deliver quality over quantity. I do hope they improve, at which point I would become a loyal customer.

Came here for the first time with a frequenter. Cosy and intimate. Surprisingly, I quite enjoyed it. Courteous service but they were busy and forgotten our cutlery. This was a minor issue as the atmosphere made up for it. I’ll like to go again when I have the chance. You can only order 6 tapas in one go and the portions are small to make sure there’s no wastage but you can sit for as long as you like I believe. Lovely little gem.

We have visited this lovely restaurant on several occasions and have always enjoyed the whole experience. From the friendly greeting when you arrive, to the delicious array of tapas and best sangria outside of Spain, you won't be disappointed. Can't fault this place, just wish I lived nearer.

Most tapas or Mediterranean restaurants pretend to be something they aren't, this is definately not one of them as far as I'm aware they are a canarian family that opened this place years ago and we just can't stop going. Every now and then we visit and like to sit outside if weather is good but don't mind sitting inside. The food is epic the drinks are well priced if you like tapas and real feel Mediterranean/ canarian food give Laura and the gang a visit you will not be disappointed.

Visited during the week so was naturally quieter but still a great experience. The atmosphere with the decor and music made you feel like you were in Spain. Food was lovely, as was the sangria. Lots of different flavours and options, with decent sized portions. Great value for money, would definitely recommend!

The food is amazing. Popped in for an early dinner - they offer a proper tapas menu but we chose from the smaller menu. I wish we had been hungry enough to try the full menu.! Gorgeous home cooked dishes. Will definately visit again. Very good value too. The staff were lovely and it was a really relaxing atmosphere.

Brilliant food. We opted for the 25 pound eat as much as you want menu. (You have to order in multiples of six from the menu) which is good for large groups. The choice on the menu is fantastic. The drinks are a very reasonable price. The venue itself is easy to get to and there is plenty of parking. Will definitely visit again

Lovely little tapas place, it's all you can eat for £25 each so you just order whatever you fancy and they keep bringing you little servings of it, dishes are small but you can order more so thats not an issue. Each round we got 6 dishes between 2 people. Particular favourites, calamari, patatas bravas, ribs, haloomi with pineapple

Not sure what was Spanish about this tapas restaurant. Food was barely warm, some dishes were greasy . Honestly one of the worst meals we have ever been served

Went here tonight after having a bit of a Google to see where we fancied going. Best decision ever! £25.99 for all you can eat Tapas. Everything is made to order, and you order six dishes at a time, then once you've eaten, you order again. Everything tasted fresh, everything tasted amazing, and almost everything was perfectly cooked. A large menu, with a massive range of dishes that took you through starters, to classics, then on to meat, fish, vegetables, and of course drinks. Alcohol, 0%, soft, hot, they had them all. I had one of the sangria's, and was very pleasantly surprised by the size of it! The owner was lovely, really friendly, with great service, and you could see she was pleased that people liked her food. I lost count of how many dishes we tried, but we failed completely at trying one of everything on the menu. So..... Guess we'll have to go back to try the things we missed this time. Then maybe go back a third time just to have our favourites again! Give it a try, see for yourself!

My self and 4 other friends/work colleagues attended on 11/4/24. The service was quick, the food was lovely, the atmosphere was nice and the room was lovely and bright the service team were lovely and the food was all served in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend and will absolutely be going back again. One of the best tapas I’ve had in a long time. The presentation of the food was really really nice too.

Great food, loads to choose from. Decent wine. Great service, order 2 tapas each at a time, all you can eat. I smashed 8.

As a concept, this sounds great but sadly, the restaurant failed to execute it on too many levels. Service was poor to non existent, 2 staff serving a small but full restaurant. We waited ages for our table, ages for our drinks (Sangria poured from cans into jugs, lazy). There was a long delay from ordering to the food arriving, obviously because the restaurant was understaffed. When it did arrive, most of it was at room temperature indicating it had been waiting to be served for some time after ordering. We had to ask for plates in order to eat the food which were delivered stone cold ,my biggest bugbear. Putting lukewarm food onto cold plates doesn’t need to be explained, food was cold as soon as you took a couple of mouthfuls. The food itself was okay, nothing was outstanding and everything could be easily achieved by a competent home cook. It was plentiful but took so long to arrive between plates that the whole experience felt long and drawn out. We were not offered clean plates or cutlery during the meal and after 3 courses and mucky plates, I felt compelled to ask for fresh ones. Overall, it was a very disappointing dining experience and our party felt very underwhelmed. If I were to pick a positive from the evening, it would be the staff were friendly and polite and it felt authentically Spanish. Sadly, I would not return.

How on earth does this place have 5* reviews??? It’s up there with the worst restaurant we have ever been to. You won’t even be able to convince me that anyone working here has even been to Spain on holiday. We knew we should’ve left when we sat down and they told us it was ‘all you can eat’ The ‘chicken dish’ was chunks of pre cooked chicken breast in a random red sauce which definitely came from a jar. The pate was served with Jacob’s crackers… I literally could’ve popped to Morrisons up the road and grabbed this off the shelves myself. They also serve nachos and noodles……. Very Spanish! (NOT) I feel so bad writing this review because the staff were nice but my god the food is just awful I have to warm other people.

We enjoyed a total of 4 rounds of tapas, yet we still haven’t tried all the items on the menu. We loved especially the calamari, seafood paella, patatas bravas, anchovies in vinegar, pescado marinado, sirloin steak, lamb stew, etc. That gave us a reason to come back next time. Knowing that it was my wife’s birthday, the waitress treated us a lovely piece of cake with ice-cream scoops. We were truly impressed by the great service and wonderful food there. That gave us another reason to come back, probably with more friends next time.

A really nice evening out for Valentine's Day. They were doing all you can eat Tapas for £25.99 per person. We tried loads of different things and it was full of flavour. Good value, extremely good service from friendly staff and very tasty food. We will be back!

After being recommended this little lovely restaurant, we soon decided that we would go for the individual tapas menu of which we was not disappointed. The portions were healthy, fresh and had great flavour.

Food came out very very quickly after ordering! Certainly not freshly cooked or hot. A little disappointed to be honest 😕

At £25.99 for an all-you-can-eat experience, my expectations weren't particularly high. However, having perused some reviews beforehand, I found the bar set surprisingly high. In the spirit of fairness, I approached the dining experience with an open mind. Starting with the first 6 plates: - Patatas bravas: 7/10 – It's hard to go wrong here, though the aioli was a tad overpowering in garlic. - Chorizo: 7/10 – A decent cut, but like the previous dish, simplicity prevailed. - Mussels: 4/10 – Unfortunately, some were overcooked, and the sauce lacked flavor, resembling a watery puddle. - Calamari: 9/10 – These were cooked to perfection, with a delightful coating, easily the highlight of the meal. - Ribs: 6/10 – While flavorful, they were not as tender as expected, and the sauce was overly sweet, akin to a jarred variety. - Halloumi: 7/10 – Nicely cooked, though the pineapple accompaniment left me unconvinced. Moving on to the next 6 dishes: - Beef taco: 7/10 – A tasty bite indeed. - Chicken fajita: 4/10 – Disappointingly watery and bland. - Chicken skewer: 6/10 – Average fare. - Lamb stew: 5/10 – Sadly bland and under-seasoned, resembling a tin of vegetable soup. - Chicken bites: 6/10 – Standard fare. - Sirloin and fried potatoes: 4/10 – Poor cuts of meat with excessive fat, and the chimichurri was unbalanced, dominated by garlic with insufficient acidity. - Calamari (round 2): 9/10 – These were so good, I had to order another round. Dessert comprised chocolate cake and a cheesecake variant served with ice cream and squirty cream, earning a 6/10. As for the drinks: - Jug of sangria: Too sweet for my palate, though my partner enjoyed it. - Mojito: Similarly, overly sweet, lacking balance. Overall, I left disappointed by the food quality, especially considering the positive reviews. Would I return? Only for a dozen plates of calamari, as the great price was unfortunately reflected in the overall food quality.

Was looking forward to try this restaurant after reading the reviews but it was a big disappointment. It is very expensive for what it is (£26 for the tapas buffet). It did not feel like fresh cooking which I expected from tapas. Some dishes are not too bad but for the price, it wasn't good enough.

The food is absolutely STUNNING. We have had 15 meals between 4. Great portions. I am stuffed! The potatoes are divine. The garlic mushrooms were amazing and who knew chicken pate and strawberry jelly worked? Lovely Lovely food and great personal service

My partner and I enjoyed the ambience of this restaurant. I had been before and promised to bring him to try authentic tapas. The service provided was excellent and very heart warming. I am Latin American and being at La Fonda felt like being at home for a moment. Laura made us feel welcome and had a very nice approach with both of us. The menu offered is very varied and caters for all tastes. We will definitely come back for more!!!

Myself and my wife have visited many many times, everytime we visit we get the same amazing friendly service. We adore tapas and everytime we go abroad we always make sure we visit the local restaurants. This is the closest I have come to a family run restaurante. The food is incredible, the sangria blanco is epic. We will visit again as we always do every now and then.

It's like a buffet where you you spend £20 pp and get anything on the menu! Highly Recommend!

Came on a quiet Sunday evening and were seated quickly. After being given the menus it took about 20min for a server to come and take our first order. We were told that one dish could be shared between 2 but in actuality one person could easily eat 4 plates to themselves in one go. The food itself was okay, for the most part below average, tried to order as many different things to try. The seafood paella was undercooked, the barbacoa pork was just deep fried pork and was very hard as a result but for the rest it was just fine, nothing to praise. The service was the worst thing, there was a young man and 2 older people serving food. They were not very attentive and the older man was just grumbling when trying to speak. Overall not too great, but I guess for £20 for an all you can eat it's just fine as long as you're fine with waiting a lot

This was our second visit to this friendly Tapas restaurant for a family celebration. It is a fairly small, intimate setting, but they managed to accommodate 20 of us. The food and service were excellent for such a large, diverse and lively group! They also made the occasion special by playing happy birthday & providing 2 large sharing plates of dessert… not that we could eat much of it, as we were so full! Thanks again and well done to all the team!

If there's one thing I can't stand, it's British tapas. Tapas turned fine dining in the UK is something I simply refuse to review. Over priced dishes served around dimly lit tables by students who spent a "gap yaar" in Madrid. Often employing cuts like flat iron steak or New York strip for that "authentica taste". HOWEVER, this is not what you'll find at La Fonda. This, is Tapas. It's rustic, home cooking where dishes are prepared by experienced hands, with the kind of care that's passed down through generations. You open the door on a busy Horseforth high street and walk into a chiringuito in Jimena. The croquetas and the calamari are the best I've had in the U.K. Do yourself a favour and make sure to order those. Honestly everything I had was fantastic bar the boquerones that were a little over fried. But hey, it might feel like a beach bar in Al Maria, but we're still in Leeds. The value for money is absolute. With an extensive and very tempting drinks menu. Ordering as many snacks as you like for £20 can't be beaten. The owner and the hostesses are all super friendly and read a table extremely well. They can tell who wants to chat and who doesn't. Try this place. Go for lunch, go for dinner, but support it. Thank you for a wonderful meal and a taste of home. I will certainly be back soon.

We have been to La Fonda many times since it opened a few years ago. The first time I visited I just hoped it would survive longer than some of the other restaurants that traded from the premises. The food was great. It reminds me every time of my Spanish holidays. Thankfully the power of social media has helped this place to thrive and it deserves to. They offer an all you can eat tapas menu and a free jug of sangria on certain evenings. The food is great and the Spanish owners deliver excellent customer service. I’ll be going back this week for a family birthday and can’t wait.

Really nice restaurant. Nice friendly staff and a nice way of ordering. Some of the dishes were excellent a couple were ok but ones I wouldn’t order again. The patatas bravas were good, as were the ribs and the chorizo. The fried anchovies and spicy chicken in a creamy sauce were my least favourite dishes. Will come back again.

The food was quite nice up until a hair was found deeply embedded in our halloumi. We literally couldn’t pull it out. We called over the waitress to show her, who then took it to the chef who said it wasn’t them and it couldn’t have happened, none of us sat around the table could have possibly of caused this, the hair was blonde and none of the party were blonde. It was quite a disgusting experience and greeted with even worse customer service. During receiving the bill we were offered 1x free jug of sangria on our NEXT VISIT! Of course we won’t be going back so asked if the gesture could be considered for the current bill. We were told no. We said this was disappointing so would need to feedback to other customers. We were told ‘ok go for it’. No sincere apology given just thanked and shown the door. Wouldn’t recommend due to customer service alone.

Visited here again last night for my partners birthday. When we first arrived we were greeted by a lovely young lady who was so polite and friendly. She wasn’t pushy and asked if we had visited before which we had and did we need to know how the menu worked. We could order 6 dishes at a time and the food was absolutely stunning. Everything that came was lovely and hot and so tasty. We had 24 dishes in all and some we repeated as we liked it so much. There was no pressure or awkwardness in ordering what we wanted. In fact even when we were full and could eat no more the lovely waitress said are you sure! Would 110% recommend to anyone, gluten free, vegan, vegetarian all are well catered for. Such a lovely traditional place. You could of actually been in Spain!

It’s our 3rd time returning to La Fonda and I can’t fault a thing. Food is lovely and tasty and great value for money. The jugs of sangria are great and the staff are kind and friendly.

Not genuine spanish, most of the food you can buy it in local supermarket already made. The spanish tortilla was not better than the one you can buy at Tesco. Very disappointing 😞
