The best restaurants serving Seafood food in Streonshalh Scarborough Yorkshire and The Humber

Albert’s became a family favourite after our last visit in 2021 - a fantastic location offering a wonderful choice of seafood, served professionally and with a touch of sophistication. In 2023 we had family from USA and Australia visiting, so on a trip to Whitby we booked Albert’s as a way of showcasing the ‘Best of British’ - unfortunately in the intervening period, the standard has dropped significantly. Menu choices were limited (the seafood platters we were expecting weren’t available) and whilst the service was friendly, it felt overall like we were eating at a slightly upmarket cafe - such a waste of the wonderful location. Hopefully the people running Albert’s can recruit well and get the kitchen back to where it used to be, and a bit of training for front of house to bring back the special feel that it we experienced on our earlier visit.

Best chippy in whitby by far, never disappointed, highly recommend

We’ve visited a few times and it’s been lovely and been made to feel very welcome so decided to visit again. I visited as a birthday treat with family and the food was nice however the lady that served us couldn’t have cared less, never smiled and was very abrupt when asking what we would like, it made us not want to be there and she didn’t look like she wanted to be there either so it was a little disappointing

Mis amigos y yo vivimos en Pickering y pensamos que teníamos garantizado un gran pescado y patatas fritas en Whitby. Desafortunadamente, llegamos a la única “tienda de pescado con papas fritas” en la ciudad que utiliza “aceite vegetal” - que se extrae a la fuerza con disolventes tóxicos como el hexano - y los resultados fueron secos e insípidos. We were made very welcome in front of the fire. We have a well behaved golden doodle dog who settled down and slept while we had tea gluten free burger and chips. Medium cod and scampi combo. They gave the chips from this to my husband as he loves extra chips. It is licensed It is small and the young man who served us was very sociable
