A great restaurant. To be honest, it was my first time to eat ice cream mixed with caviar. It was so delicious! The caviar here is very fresh and the seafood is also very fresh and sweet. It is a restaurant worth visiting again and again.

Sadly this is not what it was. Has it been sold on? Is it suffering from the owners' expansion and lackof attention? When it was the owners' only restaurant it was superb. Things have changed. I was here with 3 others in December '24, and 1 other in January '25, on both those visits all were disappointed. Some points from the January visit. The majority of oysters on the chalk board were NOT available - including all the ones we had decided to order having read the descriptions. Why have a chalkboard if you cannot be bothered to change it daily, or at least mark on it what's available that day? (A sign of the care & attention given now). The oysters we did have were good. The main course of skate wing was over-sauced in a strong salty dark brown sauce that smothered the taste of fresh fish (the menu did say with chicken jus) . Four differing people across my last two visits have tried this and agree that this recipe kills the fish . And...on the latest visit the skate wing had a litte 'wooliness' to the flesh, was it not as fresh as it could have been? (This was on a Thursday when fresh fish is available daily). The chips have a spicy coating, which they do tell you, but - that seems at odds with the way The Oystermen started - with wonderful fresh tastes to complement wonderful fresh fish. RIP my and my friends'relationship with this rerstaurant (now chain of?)

Having seen the food pics, I've been wanting to go for a while.. Took the opportunity to go for an after theatre dinner as it was limited in choice over how many restaurants were open at that time.. Booked the set meal as thought it would be quick for them and us considering it would be late.. 10.30pm.. It was packed when we got there and waiter stood by us demanding our drink order.. I asked for 2 mins as we hadn't even had the opportunity to open the menu seeing as he asked the moment he handed it to us.. He was really unhappy about me asking him to come back in 2 mins..! When he did, we gave our order and he asked what we wanted for food.. I said I'd booked the set menu so could we please have the menu.. Ha walked off in a huff, came back with ONE menu for the 4 of us.. he then asked what we wanted, I asked for a couple of mins so we could look at the menu.. He then proceeded to tell me it was late and we had to order.. I said yes, but could we have 2 mins to see what was on the menu.. The food was really good.. so worth visiting for that.. what I will say is, if you're going to open late, then surely we are allowed same courtesy as other diners..? If you don't want us there, then close earlier..? We ordered really quickly and ate as quickly as possible, there were still people there when we left.. but it made for the experience really uncomfortable and I can't say I'd go again.. Btw, instead of giving me a bottle I asked for, he gave my friend and I a glass each.. probably fearing we'd be there ages drinking.. but a bottle between 4 ppl is literally just over a glass each anyways.. 😂 I hate giving negative reviews but just feel he was rude and it wasn't necessary. if you offer to open late, then you need to provide the same level of service, perhaps giving us the heads up that kitchen would close soon would have been much more tactful..

Tiene que ser uno de mis lugares favoritos de tapas en Londres. La comida, el ambiente, el personal es excelente. Estuve en todos los lugares de Londres y ninguno nunca decepciona. Siempre un 10 / 10.
