They serve up paper plates of fresh cooked paella almost "to go". What you get in your plate seems to vary depending on where in the pile the server's spoon hits. The paella was good, but not phenomenal and not overly plentiful. Paella includes some expensive ingredients, so the £5.50 price was fair even if it felt expensive for the portion size. Most of the seating in Covent Garden is owned by sitdown restaurants, so we ended up eating our paella on an unused doorstep in the crowded venue.

First day in London after a long flight from Australia and I'm wandering around Covent Garden. Time is ticking on and I need some food but all the restaurants and cafes are busy when the smell of the paella wafts up from the lower piazza. It is a great look and smell - very appealing and I was sucked right in - but in a good way :) Anybody expecting authentic, traditional Spanish in this context is crazy. It is fast food in a food hall - so let's be realistic. Rice is of course the staple of this dish but in my serve I got lots of seafood. My chicken I ordered as well was also freshly cooked and hot. Now as I was eating I noticed others with less seafood and more rice - the luck of the draw I suppose - and the batch of freshly cooked chicken that mine came from served the next two dozen customers or so. At the end it may have not been as fresh - but no worse than food kept in a bain marie. Certainly as a fast food idea this was great. Service whipped through the customers - pretty easy to serve and the food was all ready to go so no waiting for food to be cooked or assembled. I understand that others may have different experiences - it would be hard to be consistent. If you are looking for a Spanish meal - find a decent Spanish restaurant. If you are looking for something a little different in quick, hearty fast food this is well worth a try.

There is no words to describe that mush or rice and tons of onions! And no chorizo! A bit of chicken which looked like it had seen better days! And the silly waitress thought it was funny when I complained! The best paella is in London Bridge! This is more like Iceland's rice and peas!!

So after the disasters of Browns & Crusting Pipe, it's now gone 3 O'clock, & we're starving. Not prepared to undergo another restaurant ordeal, opted for the safety of the obvious- took a short stroll to Hola Paella. In truth it's not up too much, but the experience makes up for it - Street Food, Faux Spanish Style.Huge pans of Paella, dispensed with enthusiasm to an expectant throng, who then have to find somewhere to eat it. It's OK, ingredients leave a little to be desired(Tip-Only eat when the Pan is Two Thirds Full at least), but it fills a hole, and it's fun.At least you won't get ignored here - Word to the Wise Big Chains, food needs Micro Management!!!So, that was that, decide to go home - but what will we eat this evening?!

Myself and my wife were wandering around Covent Garden looking for something fairly simple for lunch. There were lots of stalls selling meatballs, burgers, pulled pork etc, but we wanted something a little less "meaty". In the end we opted for Hola Paella. We ordered a medium and small size based upon looking at the plates they had on show, with a chicken skewer each. Unfortunately the person serving us didn't really load the plates up, so really it felt like we had ordered an extra-small and small. The food itself was very tasty, both the paella and the chicken. Of course, the main ingredient of the paella was rice, but the amount of seafood was pretty paltry. A couple of prawns and a mussel shell each (I didn't find the mussel itself). The amount of seating is limited, but given the size of the portions we didn't hang around and quickly vacated our table for someone else. If I was given the choice again I'd opt for a burger from another stall. It's easier to see what you are getting.

After walking from the National Museum all the way through Buckingham Palace and to Big Ben... my folks and I were starving. We were originally suppose to eat at Punch and Judy to meet up with my sis but when my parents saw the huge pan filled with paella... I knew they were a goner... like myself! The line gets crazy busy but its well worth the wait. They have 4 tables that you can dine at but that also gets crazy busy.I don't remember how much our totally came out to be since we ordered 3 medium and 1 large with extra tikka chicken with 3 sangria... I think it's well under 40 GBP and it was worth it. The paella itself was well seasoned and had tons of chicken and shrimp... thankful they didn't cheap out on ingredients! Overall... the fam were all happy since we all got our rice fix!Well worth checking out if you're around Covent Garden!

You wander through the main floor of the Covent Garden Square - marveling at the shops and restaurants around you. Opera singers lure you in with their arias - you watch them stir the paella in the largest pan this side of Spain and it all falls flat when you taste it. Fundamentally it falls flat. It is to paella what taco bell is to burrittos. The ingredients have the same name, the shape looks familiar - but - its not the same.A little overpriced - you are better off eating at the pizza joint at the other end of the square. Lower price - more authentic food.

It's the kind of place where service is so endearing, I want to do nothing but support their venture. And I'd rate the Paella tasty enough, especially for this type of fast food/mass production. Only thing is, I think they need to find another way to include the larger shellfish in this type of vessel, because I had lots of broken shell bits (mussels? clams?) in my mouthfulls.Again, really nice guy working the kiosk and a pleasant place to sit, in the central courtyard, enjoying Covent Garden.
