The Wellington Restaurant in City of London, Westminster

A typical, excellent English type restaurant with good food, interesting decor and architecture in handy location at end of The Strand. Friendly waiter been there for years.

Went here for my boyfriend’s birthday (which is on Valentine’s Day). Overall the food was really nice but service was quite slow and impersonal. I had to repeatedly ask for our drinks and spent a lot of time trying to get staff attention to order things. I’d also called in advance to flag a food allergy and the fact it was a birthday and was told the waiting staff would be briefed and kitchen would decorate my boyfriend’s dessert - neither happened. It was quite a strange/distracting atmosphere as despite the restaurant being big with a lot of space, all the tables were crammed in together - unlike the layout photos online. There was an event going on downstairs which was quite noisy, and people were standing around next to us for a lot of the meal. When we were being seated I tried to ask if we could move somewhere with more space but was told no so we ended up crammed in between two other tables where you could all hear each other’s conversations. All in all, if you want tasty food and aren’t bothered about service or atmosphere, this would be fine, but you could get better for the same price elsewhere. It felt like the place had potential to be really good but they were trying to run too many deals on Valentine’s Day - hopefully it’s a different experience if you go at another time of year.

Last weeked we had an amazing dinner and experience in a very long time. The staff was absolutely friendly and made us feel comfortable. The steaks are superb and I need to much recommend the sticky puddin desert -it was amazing!!!- The neon lights give the venue a futuristic yet elegant look plus the art in the walls are incredible! We are definitely coming back soon!!

We had a fab evening at The Wellington Club, a very cool bar with an adjoining dining space which served extremely good food. The service was friendly and attentive and added to an enjoyable night. Definitely recommend and we will be back!

I was recommended this new restaurant by a friend and it didn't disappoint. Great atmosphere (love all the neon), fantastic food and excellent service. The fillet steak is a must! Oh...great cocktail menu too! Will be back for sure.

The Wellington is excellent!! Loved the relaxed atmosphere. Cocktails, wine and food was amazing, staff wonderful. We all had a fabulous time.

Fabulous in every way, the staff were extremely attentive and friendly. The decor is amazing, especially the skull at the bar!! Oh, and our meal was delicious, and well presented. I can highly recommend the steaks. Five stars all round. We certainly had a great evening.
