Excellent decor, great atmosphere and delicious cake. Something the area has been crying out for, we were so impressed with the vibe and would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit somewhere with a lot of character and also very trendy.

Have visited this place for 22 years and always had a great experience, however not this time our visit was disappointing. All the little touches have gone, and those that remain have been replaced with cheaper options. The menu hasn’t changed for a while except the addition of burgers, sausage and mash, or a change of flavour in the crème brûlée. Gone is the variety, and now available are burgers, fish and chips, pie etc, which you can find at most places in the area. The chips difficult to describe but were left. The vegetables smaller portion, one slice of carrot and a quarter of cauliflower floret mixed with greens. The service was slow and erratic, was not given a wine or drinks menu. The waitress (?owner) was consuming her lunch not so gracefully at the bar. There was no dedicated front of house member looking after us. Conversations could be overheard about their staffing problems. The coffee, was very weak and very hot to drink.

Booked a table for a large group for my birthday. I must have driven Clare mad by constantly having to change the numbers of guests! But she was calm and helpful. So 18 of us gathered on a soggy January Sunday and we ALL agreed that we had the BEST time. A great welcome, lovely tables, great well-kept local ales (Hanlon’s Firefly - yay!) and wines. Between us we had the beef, pork, chicken, nut roast and scampi and every meal was delicious. The portions are very generous and there were plenty of perfectly cooked vegetables. Service was calm and efficient. We didn’t have dessert as we had birthday cake but we’ll definitely be back soon and try them out. Highly recommended.

Wednesday 12th June were awaiting the departure of our flight from Exeter Airport where this cafe is located in the Departure Lounge. Despite it's best efforts it really does not have a lot going for it. At the time of our visit it was busy and there was insufficient seating available and tables needed cleaning. It does have a licence to sell alcohol, so it was possible to buy tins and bottled beer. So with time to kill, we decided to start our holiday and bought two bottles of beer here, they were £4.50 for small bottles. Like many others having a drink here, we did not purchase food here, we went across the Lounge and purchased a meal deal in W H Smith to take on board the aircraft.
