Lovely cafe. Lots of lovely looking cakes all reasonably priced. Cheese scone very tasty and Best Sausage roll my hubbys ever had. Various sarnys available for that walk around the fells to keep you going! Or soup to warm you up! Coffees, teas and hot chocolate etc, our Lattes were very nice , coffee sourced from Kendal (keeping it local). Take out or sit in. Immaculately clean. I think the lady who runs this is called Kirsty who’s local and very friendly and absolute pleasure to chat to. Thank you we will be back!

This place is so comfortable to sit and have a drink. Staff are warm and friendly. Our Bailey's coffee and double hot chocolate were delicious. The sheep-themed decor is ever so sweet, yet tasteful. A variety of music plays in the background (not all of it to certain staff's tastes), but it's not loud. This place was recommended by Tourist Information and I'm so pleased it was.

Really disappointed with our latest visit - we always come to the Black Bull when we are in Coniston because is a great pub, friendly staff, great food and the best beer. However during our visit last week the bald barmen was speaking in a different language and it was quite difficult to understand him, we ordered a pint of Bluebird and a pint of Oliver’s ale to go with our meal, the food was delicious but the ale was disgusting, very smelly and flat. We tried agin the second night and the ale was the same, which was a shame as it used to be the best in the village.

A fantastic place to visit to sit next to the lake , well you enjoy your meal . Theirs plenty of small wooden sun houses to sit and enjoy your meal . The food was nice my friend had the burger, they said it was nice. I had the steak , a little over cooked but tasted good . Dog friendly and clean . Well worth a visit, for the fantastic views .

Had an enjoyable family supper when the Yewdale Inn was crowded for the Easter weekend. Two of us had a good vegetarian curry, and three of us had the freshly baked pizzas, with nice side salads and excellent chips. There was a great range of drinks, including delicious Loweswater Gold beer. The service was very efficient and friendly (perhaps a tad too blokey-jokey), and the prices were reasonable. The drawback was the very loud pop music. We asked if they could turn it down, which they did very marginally, but it was still too loud to have much of a conversation, so we didn't stay for desserts or a second round of drinks. And we were appalled to find that the music was also playing loudly onto the street outside. This is not appropriate or acceptable in a small village in a National Park - a bad misjudgement by a management team who seem otherwise to be doing a good job of running this busy, friendly pub.
