We arrived with friends that had recommended The Whalley Wine Bar (and Wine shop). We started with visiting the wine shop, after browsing the wines through the store we got chatting to a few, very knowledgeable chaps that really knew their stuff. Lots of recommendations to sample different wines. We earmarked a few wines, but then left to get a bite to eat next door in the wine bar, to then return and make our purchases. The wine bar, on a Saturday was extremely busy (no surprise), however we were made to feel welcome and although we hadn't reserved a table, the waitress managed to make us some space with a 30 minute limit, she then managed to move bookings around, giving us a lot longer (a nice touch). From here we ordered some delicious bites to go with the wine, (Mine being a Chablis and Pate). The atmosphere was truly amazing and the service very good. We then returned to the wine shop to purchase our wines, which again, really made to feel welcome even though the shop at this point was a lot busier. All in all, a very lovely experience from both sides of this business. We live over an hour away but we're already planning our return, trust me, it's worth the drive.

Highly recommend. Me and 3 friends prebooked a table for brunch. First time in the area so found this place online and boy are we glad we did. The place is beautiful inside, making it a great choice to meet up with friends. The staff could not have been better! Friendly, helpful and on the ball with your needs so you don't feel like anything is too much trouble or you need to be asking for things. A great choice of food and drink available. All of our group were more than happy with our choices. I had the garlic mushrooms and poached eggs on sourdough and added some halloumi. Bloody gorgeous 😋 the only down side is I live too far away to make this my regular spot!

Very limited gluten free options unfortunately, on arrival instead on going through what l could eat they just put a full allergens menu infront of me that l had to go through myself, when I went to order the man said 'everything is done in the same fryer but that will be ok won't it?' Unfortunately anyone with coeliac disease or an tolerance to gluten will know that is not ok so l just had goats cheese on toast starter as my meal, would not recommend unfortunately, I felt discriminated and felt embarrassed infront of my group of friends.

Myself and my husband took my mother in law here for her birthday. We book the traditional afternoon tea. It was a bit of a drive out from where we live but worth it. On entering the hotel we did notice it was very cold and in need of updating, rather dark but quiet. We had a drink before we went to our table and sat by the fireplace. The afternoon tea was by far the nicest one we have had in a while. The food was delicious and we couldn't finish it all so even took some home with us. All hot drinks are included and were all really nice. Other than it being a bit cold the actual afternoon tea was wonderful and we will 100% go back again.

Went for lunch and tried to scan the menu to order at the table. The pub did not come up. There was meal deals with a drink for extra £1. We ordered food and was told no drinks where on the deal. Why advertise a deal ? Left and went to the Dog Inn. Busy, pleasant, good food.
