Stylish yet unpretentious bar with great cocktail selection. Good observations of social distancing and plenty of hand sanitiser. Music doesn't quite match decor, but all round winner.

Stopped here for breakfast and what a lovely place this is! I had a small breakfast and my partner had a stottie cake with eggs and bacon. The food was lovely and freshly cooked. The staff were so friendly and helped us plan our day as we were new to the area. Highly recommended.

First discovered on Facebook and made a promise to myself that we’d visit the first opportunity we had. Voila!! Done that this morning on our way home to Lancashire and wasn’t disappointed. Menu is great- plenty of breakfast options- we both had a light breakfast which was substantial and just delicious- and proper thick toast. The accompanying coffee was lovely- strong just as we like. This pitstop breakfast set us up for our journey back home. We’ll definitely return next time we’re over that way- and maybe I’ll not forget the scones/cakes I’d promised myself I’d be bring back with me!!

When you walk into this store you really do appreciate how many different beers are brewed in the northeast region of England. There is an amazing selection of beers and there is nothing better than being able to enjoy a good local brew on a long train journey. Prices are varied but value for money especially considering the quality and range of beers sold. Also excellent for any last-minute Christmas shopping you need to do before boarding the train home!

My first time back to Middlesbrough in decades and Base Camp checked all the boxes! Great music, wifi, super friendly staff and amazing food...! (I had the hummus toastie with salad and it was delicious. Unfortunately I scoffed it before i remembered i should take a photo). What a hidden gem! Afternoon tea today at The Coppertree Cafe. Choice of 3 sandwiches, fruit scone or lemon and blueberry with clotted cream and jam, a cheese scone, steak or corned been pie or quiche, and a choice of freshly baked cakes! I went for lemon slice and Nutella cake. A macaron and unlimited tea and coffee. All of this for £12.50!!! Can’t believe theses lovely ladies bake everything fresh each day and they have only been open for 3 months. They also do a range of home cooked meals homemade broth, chicken curry etc! I would definitely recommend a visit!

Venue was nice, tidy and a good atmosphere. Excellent choice of beers. Some very hard to find beers. Friendly staff. Good prices. Would come back.

Amazing Cakes, Pies, Coffees and breads. Top quality Food. Highly recommended. Friendly Staff too. They sell lovely cheeses and Honey etc too.

Went here for coffee and a cake. We had flat whites and a scoundrel. They were quickly served and the coffees were strong and tasty. The scoundrels were a type of cake/biscuit with nuts and fruit in and glacé cherries on top. Taste is a small shop based coffee house and when we went was quite busy. As the ground floor was full we went to the downstairs lounge. This was comfy. A good place for good coffee.

This cafe is great. Very friendly and the food is fantastic! They also do some gorgeous cakes as well. It is an absolute gem!

A local favourite. Lovely cakes/desserts served by friendly and efficient staff. I haven’t tried the breakfasts or lunch meals but they seem to be very popular.

This is a gem of a pub, friendly, clean, light and airy. The music was excellent, the toilets, clean with many extras for the ladies. It seems they have thought of everything. It has a separate room with a pool table and there is parking close by, if not directly in front.

I’ve had the pleasure of tasting a few of the mouth watering treats for here. The jam and cream scones are gorgeous, so light and fluffy, and the cheese scones are rich and tasty. My personal favourite is biscoff and white chocolate cookie pie. Warmed in the microwave for a few seconds at home, with a cup of tea is my idea of heaven! The staff are fantastic and always go above and beyond. Well worth a trip. You will not be disappointed
