The best restaurants serving Mediterranean food in South Wales

I stumbled upon Abo Ali last week and what a find! As a veggie lover, I was thrilled by their options. The vegetarian burger was a pleasant surprise - juicy and packed with flavor. But the real star? Their falafel. Crispy, perfectly spiced, and honestly the best I've had in a while. The vine leaves were a close second. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere cozy, making me feel right at home. If you're after tasty vegetarian Lebanese fare in Cardiff, Abo Ali is the place to be. I'll definitely be back for more of those falafels!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Booked because we have been in for drinks a few times and wanted somewhere nice for Sunday roast The service was terrible the place was not busy but waited over half an hour for food which was brought to us we were given no cutlery had to go and ask and a member of staff went off to go and get some food had been sat at the table almost 10 minutes by the time we got cutlery. We asked for mint sauce and got a small plastic pot. The menu offers bottomless gravy however no one came to check how our meal was or if we needed anything. The roast was pretty good meat lovely potatoes were more like a new potato than a roasted one. The table next to us had 3 members of staff 1 or 2 eating another on a laptop. Customer service was definitely lacking for the price I would expect table service and attentive staff.

Lovely venue for lunch /dinner. Reasonably priced for excellent quality food. We had sunday lubch which was delcious and received excellent service. We will definitely be back!

the kebab was so dry and chewy sauces not added when asked and also item missing. Very terrible service advised a refund and proof of food we didn’t eat after spending £30 and they declined it very terrible service

This was my first trip to La Ribera and it was very enjoyable. Friendly staff, amazing food (I had the Brazilian chicken). Crisp, tasty beer and real Italian Gelato too. Food was great value for money and such a welcome change from the plastic pre-packed food served in so many pubs and bars these days.
